Nina is an AMAZING TEACHER!! If you find your self struggling don't hesitate to pass by her office and get some advice from her. Lectures may seem long but for me I found it important to attend each class because she gave lots of hints for tests. The break down for her class is 2 Summaries, 2 quizzes and 3 exams. She is A very good teacher!!!!
Nina is by far one of the best profs at Douglas if it was possible I would take all of my classes with her. There were only 2 exams and a final!! The final exam is only the last 3 chapters that were taught. The textbook was barely used in class but I used it for definitions and it had great examples but we need to use the launchpad it comes with.
Great prof!!! Very clear in the lectures and really shows that she genuinely cares about what she is teaching. Provides lots of videos and examples to make sure you understand. She notices when you are not there, and she takes it into account when giving your final mark as participation is worth 5%. Exams are really easy. Best professor ever!
Nina is a genuinely kind professor. I've never reached out to her personally, but I just feel like she'd be someone who's easy to talk to. She's organized all the time, and even though sometimes the lectures are boring, she tries to keep things interesting, which I think we can all appreciate. I also like how she adds in videos to spice things up.
Awesome Prof. Really cares about her students. I couldn't understand the stats book material without her explanations in class. She really tries to get students to understand the theory. Once you get the theory, the math itself is pretty easy. I recommend her to anybody who has to take statistics.
great prof, unfortunate that it was a 3hr lecture in the morning. homework was usually online so it wasn't so bad, lectures were long but she tried to make them enjoyable. review slides for quizzes and tests and you should get a pretty good grade. would highly recommend as a prof. also buy the online copy of the textbook, no point in buying both
Its an 1100 course so its not that hard, but she was very helpful and related the topics towards stuff we do everyday which I felt helped me retain the information better. Very nice and always willing to help.
Nina is an amazing professor who tries to make class/lectures fun, and always encourages questions if you need help.
I would not have survived stats if it weren't for Nina. Easily one of the most helpful , clear and overall nice profs I've had at Douglas . Expectations are clear and lectures are easy to Understand with you leaving feeling like you really know what's going on . Highly recommend if you need to take stats , with her the material makes sense !
Nina is a great professor, she makes this class very easy to understand and to get through. There are 3 exams with only 3-4 chapters in each as well as a quiz before each exam for review. not necessary to attend class, but sometimes she will tell you what will be on the exams/quizzes. amazing prof all in all, loved her.
was really nervous about taking 2300 but the way Nina approaches the course is great. you'll have a hw quiz at the beginning of every class, the answers will be exactly what you did for hw so it's super easy, just make sure to get it done. you'll also have 3 exams, with 3-4 chapter each and it'll be multiple choice, no calculators.
By far the best professor I've had the pleasure of being taught by. Her class is very well structured, you always know what is expected of you and it is never too much. Dr. Di Pietro also show an incredible desire to make sure her students succeed and is very available outside of class. Her work and life experiences add a lot to her lectures.
Nina by far is my favourite Professor I've had in Douglas. She is super clear in what she wants, and if you follow her outlines, I guarantee that you'll get the mark you want. Honestly, if you have the chance to take any of her classes, I would.
I was not excited to take stats, but Nina made this course x100 better than anticipated. She teaches the content very clearly and then gives out worksheets immediately after for the class to do, very helpful as many don't learn well from solely watching someone else do it. Take her class for sure if you can!
Highly recommend taking Nina's class for PYSC 1100 . Super helpful and lectures are fun and interesting Best prof at Douglas
Nina is a great teacher her lectures are actually interesting and her slideshows are so helpful!
Best prof ever! Makes the material easy to understand and fun.
Nina is probably my favorite prof so far, she made stats easy as long as you show up to class and do the practice questions. Quizzes are the same questions as the homework questions. Easy to do well
her class was easy to take as long as you show up, you do a research experiment so it is mandatory to show up to class. she gives lots of class time to work on projects and get homework done.
Amazing prof! I would highly recommend taking a course with her. Lectures are engaging and I can tell that she is passionate about psych. Tests are pretty straight forward! She mentions what you need to know for the exams so if you pay attention in class, you'll do great on all of the written questions.
Nina is a gem!! Super sweet and teaches very well. I am horrible at math, and she makes it so much easier to understand! There are 2 exams and 1 final which are all multiple choice. And 3 applied problem assignments and weekly quizzes. She is an awesome prof. I would highly recommend .
AMAZING prof!!! Very organized! You don't have to be good at math to succeed in this course! Most of the exam questions were all theory, no calculations needed! She is always available during office hours and is more than willing to help you! Open book homework questions at the beginning of every class. All exams multiple choice!
Best instructor I ever had a Douglas! She wants all of her students to do well and is very clear in explaining the material. Her tests are fair and she always there for extra help if needed. Would not have made it through this class with any other instructor.
Amazing professor. Extremely caring towards her students. Clear grading material. Gives hints during lectures about what you will be tested on.
Excellent professor, would definitely take her class again. She is very clear and makes stats easy. I have never been very good at math and she made it very simple
Nina's class was enjoyable, interesting, and accessible. Her lecture style is casual, and she's very clear about what to expect on exams. I appreciated that her final exam isn't cumulative. She's put a lot of thought into the structure of her class and her use of Launchpad and online self-testing was great.
Nina introduces psychology in such an engaging way! Her tests were pretty easy because she covers everything in lecture and only require a reasonable amount of time set aside for studying. All short answer questions are clear. Her lectures are perfect pace, easy to follow but never boring. Attend class, pay attention, and you are bound to do well.
She was a pretty good prof in Data Analysis. She went over everything and her lecture and slides were pretty clear. The worksheet she gave in class helps a lot on understanding the material and her exams are theory and concept based.
Would not pass Psych stats without her! She is the best teacher if you suck at math. Weekly quizzes based on homework, 3 application problems (longer questions): She will help with them, if you go see her, and three tests. Only downfall is that she only accepts 1 person off the waitlist! Would recommend! Amazing teacher, made math simple!
Nina is the sweetest. Her energy is welcoming, you feel as if your aunt is teaching the course. Thus, she genuinely CARES. She will take time out of her normal routine to sit down with you and go over what ever you need help with. I even saw her re teach an entire lecture to 1 student because he missed a class. Definitely take her course, no doubt.
she is the most kind and approachable professor I have had at Douglas, she is so great working to make difficult concepts easy to understand. exams were easy, all theory bases, weekly quizzes based off of homework and 3 application problems. I would not have been able to get through this without her, she is always there to help
One of the best prof's I've ever had. She explains complicated things in a way you can understand. I was terrified to take a Bio heavy class but it ended up being one of my favourite classes. She is a very generous grader. 100% would take her again.
Nina is an AMAZING prof! She breaks down each chapter into smaller steps to make it easier for students to understand. She is very organized with clear and engaging lectures. The best part about her is that she genuinely cares about every one of her students and she does her best to make psych stats a BREEZE! Highly recommend!
Nina's lovely, no doubt. But if you are planning on transferring to Uni where you know you have to take advanced stats, she won't prepare you for that AT ALL. She makes things as EASIEST as possible - at times eliminating concepts that she sees as "confusing" (but still necessary to learn/know!). Take her if you don't care and just need to pass.
Nina is awesome. I took business stats before and din't understand it. But she is really good at explaining the theory and concepts. If you want to understand stats take her class. 3 exams, 3 take home assignments, weekly homework.
Amazing Professor, Would take stats again with her. Makes it easy to understand and I'm scared of math.
Nina was one of my favourite profs. I've always had a hard time with math, but during the first class she made it clear that she understands how hard some students have it and will do her best. She was available to help all the time, made things clear, and actually made the class enjoyable because I felt good i understood everything lol, recommend!
Nina is the best prof! I struggled with bio in the past, but her lectures and teaching style made material easier to grasp and super fun to learn. Be aware that this class is a bit on the heavier side (a lot of content) but if you follow her study guides, listen in class, and ask questions if you need clarification you will be fine.
I pretty much hate group work. Nina was very understanding that this can be a struggle, so I was able to work out the group stuff with her. She is very interesting, intelligent, and willing to explain things. I usually read the textbook, but found it near useless for this course.
Nina is so sweet and caring, she always tries her very best. Overall her class is very easy to do well in. She provides the class content and lecture content online, so you don't always have to be in class and always gives the opportunity to improve your grade. However, most of your grade is based off tests so make sure to study!
Nina is an excellent prof. She very passionate and knowledgable about psychology, and it shows in her lectures. Her tests are very fair, and her assignments are clear on grading. If you are considering a future in psych, consider taking a class with Nina. She does an amazing job of showing what a career in psych could look like. Loved this class!!
I was really worried about taking this class because I've always struggled with math but Nina was superb! I definitely recommend taking a class with her. She explains all the concepts really well and is accessible inside and outside of class for extra help. Class time is well balanced between lecture and in class work. I give her an easy 10/10.
Amazing! everything you read about this woman is true. i was a little skeptical that she was THAT good, but honestly i almost failed precalc 11 in highschool and i managed an A in this class. She cares about you learning and getting concepts so dont be afraid to email her or go to office hours. super dedicated teacher and gives out helpful homework
She is the best prof I've had. She cares about students and she provides as much of help as possible. She also helps students those who are struggling with math. Course is moderate difficulty. If you're straight out of a high school and you've taken math 12 preculc or culc before. Will be really easy for you.
Nina's the best. She really wants you to do well, and she gives so many chances for you to get an A. She's great at simplifying the complicated stuff. Tests and assignments were pretty straightforward, no curveballs. I feel that I didn't need to get a textbook because the slides and course-pack were enough for me to understand the material.
Nina is very caring. The class consists of 3 exams, 3 quizzes, an easy paper, and the launchpad. The workload might seem overwhelming but it is super helpful to do. You can easily get off with studying a day before the exam because by then you would have already studied the material a few times. Adapted super well to online teaching.
Nina was hands down the best prof I've had so far. She truly cares and wants you to be successful and goes above and beyond trying to give you as much support as she can. She understands life happens and is there for you. Also, go to her lectures. I walked in every week confused by the textbook and left feeling like it was kindergarten material.
The one thing that stands out about Nina is that she cares. The class is not easy but she will go above and beyond as long as she sees that you are putting in the effort. I have never met a more caring professor. She is an absolute gem and students would miss out if they didn't take a class with her. Awesome, just awesome :)
AMAZING professor! Really down to earth and open with her students. Absolutely love Nina. It is so clear that she cares about all of her students. Study and you will get an A! Course is 3 exams, 3 quizzes and a paper. Makes the material very interesting and relatable. The best part - if you have a question she doesn't know, she finds out for you!
Awesome prof. She really goes into detail with the theory so that you understand it and breaks down the equations, explaining each step and why its important. I never thought I would say this but I actually like stats now because of her. Lots of homework but it really helped me learn.
Nina will take the extra time to help out any students that ask. Marks very fair and isn't out to make you struggle. Lectures simplify all the concepts very well.
Nina is one of the best profs I've had at Douglas. I have taken her other classes as well and enjoyed them. Her lectures are interesting because they add life into the boring textbook. She makes hard concepts easy to understand and the class worksheets really help. She also handled the emergency transition to online very well when corona virus hit.
Dr. Di Pietro is amazing! Her lectures are very well done and her videos are THE BEST! It is like a crash course for psychology, but slower. She makes all her videos and ppt lecture slides available ahead of time. Her lectures are hints as to what will be on the written part for exams. She requires launchpad for assignments, it is helpful, somewhat
Best prof ever! Tests are decently easy if you understand the material. Common to get out of class earlier which is so nice! Highly suggest taking a class with her, dont buy textbook though look online for free one as you barely use it.
Nina is an amazing prof, possibly the best I have had. I heard stats was meant to be a heard course but with her it was super easy. Pay attention to her lectures and do the assignments and the exams will come easy! 100% recommend Nina!
I love her a lootttt, shes amazing. She takes care of her student and listen. I would like to take about her courses with her. Shes always here to help you. Shes so friendly and likes to talk with her students. I hope I can take about her course with her.
Nina is probably the best professor I've had at Douglas College. Her grading criteria is very clear and will help you with your assignments before due to ensure you are comfortable with the material and understanding correctly. Her lectures can be long (as class is once a week), but they are very useful. She is very caring and wants us to succeed.
Nina was an amazing professor! she was so understanding with covid and allowed lectures to be viewed online or inclass! her overall tests and quizzes were fair. Also, she has alot of fun stories!
Very good at explaining things and patient with me! It can be a tricky class but she is there to support you so you should do well if you put in the effort. I wouldn't hesitate to take another class with her!
If all the profs knew how to teach like Nina schools would have been a better place to study. She just knows how to transfer information in a way you'd understand. I took three courses with her so far and that was the best decision I made. You definitely need to experience her class.
Class is pretty straightforward forward -3 exams, weekly online homework, 1 essay. She is very caring and tells funny stories so I enjoyed her lectures. She also gives you class worksheets to help you study for the exams. I would take her again.
Awesome prof! I love Nina. Her class is chill and her lectures are fun to listen to. I feel like I learned so much! Can't say enough good things about her. Def recommend!!!
Just take her class -any class. She is that good.
Nina is as good as everyone says, she actually cares how well you do and is always willing to help. She plays music at the beginning of class to wake everyone up. She makes hard material easy to understand. I failed this course previously w/ Jermey Jackson online and i am now getting an A. I would highly recommend Nina, best prof at Douglas.
Nina was amazing. I took her my first ever semester of college and she made the transition easy. She cares about her students. She incorporates real life stories to make topics more interesting, and to help us understand more. I loved her lectures, I was never bored. The resources and videos she provides give all the clarity you will need. 10/10.
If I could give Nina more stars I would. Her stats course was incredibly interesting even though I ususally don't like math. She made concepts easy to understand and was always there to help. There were 3 exams, some assignments and weekly homework. Probably one of the best profs ever. Take her if you need a stats course!
Nina was as great as everyone says, if you to take a psychology course take it with her. No final, and exams were straightforward, everything in her lectures/slides is what you need to know for the exams, and you don't even really need the textbook. Even if you don't do that well on the exams there's lots of marks for participation/easy quizzes.
Nina is the best psyc prof I took. PSYC 2315 is a pretty tough course and she made it a lot easier and straightforward. Everything you need on exam are on slides. We had group project but it was designed that way, so everybody got evaluated separately. I wish I knew her the moment I got into Douglas. Nina deserves more than 5 stars
Nina is an amazing prof! As someone who struggles in math, her lectures were easy to understand with good examples. She's quick to answer emails and will offer Zoom meetings if you need help. There are three tests in the course but all are multiple choice. Weekly homework assignments and 3 larger assignments she can help you with so you do well!
Nina is amazing! I took stats with Jeremy Jackson in summer 2022 and failed but when i re-took the class with Nina, everything made sense. She gives homework every week in addition to application problems (there's 3 APs in total). I didn't even need to read the textbook, attending her lectures was enough because she explains things clearly.
She is the BEST psychology teacher you can get. The 3 tests were very easy as long as you followed the study guide, practiced the work sheets she gave to do good for the short answer questions and you and re watch the videos she posted for the hybrid class. The labs were so fun to do and she made the lectures engaging and enjoyable.
If you have the choice between this class and cognitive psych, choose this one. She gives thorough lectures which makes the subjects easier to understand. I always struggled with biology, but Nina makes it simple. Easy tests/quizzes if you study and a group project/presentation. Achieve/textbook is used for weekly assignments and are easy marks.
Shes amazing, she will meet you half way
as someone with a rough history with stats, i was happily skipping to her lectures at 9:30 in the morning every week; she radiates a genuine and down to earth energy that exemplifies a safe space in her classroom. dr. di pietro translates complicated theories into a language that is understandable and applicable. 11/10 would recommend
Just decided to do this now even though I took her a few months ago but she is amazing! Tests were easy as long as you studied, easy marks for participation, a paper which was fairly graded, also she had great lectures and made them enjoyable. Definitely take her!
As long as you study and do the practice questions, you'll do well in this course! She's always willing to help and has really well laid out lectures/slides. I hate math & hadn't taken a math course in like 8 years and she genuinely made me enjoy stats.
I've had 3 classes with Nina so far and they have all been magic. I gladly made the trip to Coquitlam just to take her classes. She has weekly homework assignments and readings so you have to keep up or you will fall behind. When I struggled, she set up weekly meetings with me (who does that!?) to make sure I understood everything. Best prof ever!
I really enjoyed my class with Nina. She sets students up for success, especially by giving clear exam study guidance. I did the readings, took notes, and it paid off. I didn't love my grade for my paper, considering I'd gotten it checked twice over at the writing centre, but it is what it is. I'd definitely take another course with her.
Very open, go see her in office hours and she will give you more time to work on stuff. Great prof.
Took Nina as one of my first intro psych courses. It is a very understanding and clear PowerPoint to follow along with and study from. The final is not accumulative! Each mid-term is just a few chapters and concepts which helps for learning. She is an observant marker on essays so don't be scared if your paper is scribbled all over.
Heavy course but she makes it interesting. She also provides worksheets that help with the exams. Along with giving a clear exam sheet to help us succeed. Though tough marker for the research paper. Overall, amazing prof
I took her class during my first semester,I have to say she is amazing. Her lectures are interesting and her exams are not commutative, you will have to buy the textbook in order to complete the weekly quizzes that are worth 10% of your grade. If you keep up with the readings you will be fine in her class.
Once again best prof, even for this data analysis class, Nina makes it fun and engaging. I was a little concerned of stats but turned out well due to her clear lectures. There will be homework from the textbook but easy. 3 Application Problems that use what we learned in class, and 3 non-cumulative exams.
Nina is such an inspirational teacher. Everything that we learned in class helps me understand how our brains work. She relates most of her concepts to real life examples including some of her own. I had a 3 hour class with her and she always made sure to give us 2 10min breaks. Her study guides match the tests really well. HIGLY RECOMMEND.
Nina teaches psych really well. Even though the lectures were long, she would explain very well and taught with videos as well. I think she only gave one assignment and was pretty manageable. Test were multiple choice and for the most part simple. She was very sweet. Def recommend.
Amazing prof! Her office hours are very helpful.
The goat. Her lectures are very interesting and I recommend you attend because she gives hints about what's going to be on the exam during them.
Her class was extremely interesting. Her lectures made it super easy to memorize because she would show us videos to apply the concepts and give us great examples. She gave us study guides for the exams and worksheets that would show up on the exam. Great professor.
