She is expects a lot from students but gives a lot back. She is excellent!
Great teacher!
ALWAYS late, rude to students, comes to class unprepared.
Her teaching style is designed to make you think. I believe that is why she is somewhat controversial. Her choice of books for the course is excellent.
Sign up for Professor Morgan's class. You will love her. She is challenging in a good way, and always makes you stop and think. There is alot of reading in her course, but no formal essays. None. She challenges belief systems and is very intelligent.
I think Dr. Morgan is a rude teacher. She personally insulted me and other students in her class. However, she did have interesting reading choices.
Some people will tell you that Prof Morgan is "rude." She isn't; those are the people who talk in class and throw foot**** when she leaves the room. They are mad because she called them on it when they act like 8th graders. She is an awesome
I'm sorry, but I sat in the first row and did not act like a child. She has certain people that she chooses to be rude too. Not everybody deserves it. Therefore, that last comment is not entirely true.
Morgan is awesome. She presents the material very effectively and challenges students to think for themselves. I have learned alot from her, both in and out of class.
If at all possible, you should definitely sign up for one of her classes. Prof Morgan is very well-read and intelligent, and always presents new ideas and perspectives. The best part: no essays! There is a bit of reading, but it is very enjoyable.
She has been a great teacher and very helpful. Some people here have said she is rude... I have never seen her be rude, but they may have a reason. I recommend her though, she was awesome.
Dr. Morgan is an awesome teacher who is readily available to students. Her exams are fair, the reading is interesting, and the atmosphere is energetic. She makes you really think about life.
From what I experienced, Dr. Morgan was somewhat rude to people who showed the slightest hint of being "uppity"- i.e. disagreeing with her; had her favorites; got tired of hearing about her BMW and the fact she is from LA; other lame attempts at
My entire class was very frustrated with Mrs. Morgan. She didn't explain herself well while going over the material. On the one test there was a map that the land was undiscernible from the ocean and when this was brought to her attention she said tough
She is a diva--and that's not a compliment. VERY impressed with herself and thinks she's hot. Not!She talks about things in class that should be left outside the classroom...like politics and religion. I would never take her again.
Uses the classroom to push her own agendas. Confrontational & demeaning to those who don't share her views. Enjoys bullying the students. Has no business in a classroom. Needs her medication adjusted. Most unprofessional prof. I've ever had. Wake up KSU!
This is how all classes SHOULD be! There is lots of reading and discussion, but if you participate in everything, you'll do fine on the tests. Tests are mult. choice. Take this class if you are an open-minded person - if you're not, you'll probably hate her.
she is a very good teacher! She makes you work for your grade, but when she is done you'll be a better student. I think she is one of the best teachers at KSU!
Excellent teacher, requires you to actually think rather than just regurgitating her notes. Straight-forward as far as what she expects. If you need help she is always available. We had the opportunity to hear the actual authors read their works to the class on 2 different occasions. Incredible!
Very opinionated, has her favorites and talks a lot about off-topic things that have nothing to do with the material, like religion or politics. Very difficult - the class average after the first test was in the low 60s! Beware.
very hard teacher, but very ineresting classes. Really hard tests, really demmanding reading assignments. Do not take her class unless you want to challenge. VERY INTERESTING AND INFORMATIVE TEACHER. Would reccomend to anyone wanting a challengin coarse
This teacher does not teach, but instead forces you to listen to her ideas. If you do not conform to her ideas, she will fail you! Dont dare speak out against her--she will yell at you and saying that you dont know what you are talking about! She is not helpful and tries to scare you into dropping!
Rams her political views down your throat and you had better not DARE disagree. This should not be in the classroom. This isn't political science. She is rude, arrogant, and full of it. She should not teach becasue she has no respect for her students. Avoid her. You'll regret it if you don't.
A bully. You cannot have your own opinion if it's different from hers. She talks about things irrelevant to class, like how rich she is, her political opinions, etc. Thinks she's a hottie, but she's not! Very unprofessional. Don't take a class from her. You'll spend the term regretting it if y
Very knowledgeable in her field. Helpful and friendly toward those willing to learn AND listen. Dr. Morgan tends to work very controversial material into her teaching and classroom discussions but, believe it or not, she is not the most liberal or challenging professor out there. A much-needed dose of true academia for NW GA.
If you do the reading and pay attention in the class, you should do alright. She is very opinionated, but, is also very smart and presents a somewhat interesting class. Tests are pretty hard, but i imagine if you actually do the reading, they might be a little easier. She was very willing to help me outside of class.
Very hard teacher, interesting discussions, lots of reading. Take at your own risk. You should have A's in English 1101 and 1102 before taking this professor. There is a positive though: hardly any writing is required, but there is a whole lot of reading.
she makes you work. it's gonna be hard- but in the end you'll get a lot out of it if you put into it. i guess it's just you get what you give. show her that your trying and you care and want to learn and she will be there for you. i thought she was very available and informative. i don't think she tries to be a bully or pushy- it's just the way she comes off. very intimatading.
I loved Dr. Morgan's class, but I also love reading and didn't mind the random books she assigned us. She is very opinionated and seems kind of abrasive at first, but she is also really funny. Her tests weren't hard if you did the reading, and the discussions were really active. If you like literature, definitely take her... but it's not an easy A.
I loved her! I loved the way she thought, you will learn a lot from her. She is the best teacher I have ever taken. She makes you think and is VERY funny. You do have to work for it, you will fail if you do not read. I recommend her... the class is worth the work
Magnificent! Definitely my favorite professor on literary subs. Teaches the political and phil. backstory better than the nom. depts. Fantasic c. vitae - knows amazing people, does serious writing. Challenging, sets bar high. Can be regal and a little scary, but really very warm and takes a personal interest in students. Open minds only.
She's very challenging and she expects a lot of work from students. However, she is not mean and she is certainly not a bully. She has always been friendly and polite and respectful, even with those who disagree with her. If you want to read some great books and have really interesting discussions than take this class. She's wonderful.
I wouldn't go so far as to say she was a favorite of mine. I have always loved reading and this class brought some great books to me. I learned a lot in her class, not only from the texts, but from her. She is opinionated, that is for sure, but you need to keep an open mind walking into her class. Her tests were very hard, so watch out.
She lost our tests. Didn't return grades for months. She had us write a 10 page in class essay for our final. She was NEVER on time for a class. Her class is definitely not priority to her. I would never take her for another class.
extemely hard, but I loved her. She tries to help if you schedule time with her, but you need to be very smart or a quick learner to take this class. I didn't understand politics at all prior to taking this class but now I understand a little. I'd take her again because I like to learn.

I forgot to say that she did have trouble giving grades back. I only know how I did on one paper. Every other assignment was never given back. She's also out a lot on lectures out of the country.
In my opinion she is anti-American. From eveything she says in the classroom she wishes she lived anywhere but here. She asks for YOUR opinion all the time, but when you give it if you don't agree with her, WATCH OUT!! She has NO respect for her students.I made an A in her class,so I'm not one of those who failed and is mad about it. She is bad!!
If students realized what a university student should be, virtually all would be compelled to admit that Dr. Morgan is the epitome of what an excellent university professor should be. Those fortunate enough to be admitted to her classes will obtain whatever they add to or subtract from their own learning experiences…no more, no less.
If students reflect upon the implications of what a university is, most would admit that Dr. Morgan is the epitome of what an excellent university professor should be. Those students fortunate enough to be admitted to her classes will obtain whatever they add to or subtract from their own learning experiences.
very difficult, more of a philopsophy class than World Lit
Dr. Morgan is a great professor and friend. She is always willing to meet with students and even talk to them while she is home. She does turn around questions by giving you a question. The class is interesting, intense, and difficult, but fun.My only complaint is the final 20 page paper.I had to go over 7 topics before she accepted one.Hard 2 please.
to everyone that says she ridiculous that is so not tru! don't listen to them. Dr. Morgan is my most favorite teacher yet. She makes you think and she brings new ideas to the table. In class there is never anything boring. She is so helpful too if you ask her for it. I would take her again if i have the chance. BEST TEACHER YET!
GREAT TEACHER!!! take her. she challenges you to thin. her final was multiple choice and fill in the blank. i would take her again if i can!
Let's just say, the final exam counts as YOUR ENTIRE GRADE. That exam can reflect on whether you pass or fail the class. Be prepared for some ridiculous stories, her shallow perspective of others, and random attendance taken whenever. I recommend to NOT take her. There was too little assignments and she can be too intimadating at times.
Well, she really likes to talk about herself... and she is very dramatic, but does not seem to have much direction in her lectures. She spent half of the semester making us present group powerpoints >_< which I was not a fan of.. It's a 100pt class, so don't miss any points or that's a point off your grade! I dont recommend this course!!
BEST yet.
This lady is so stuck on herself, and the fact that she was the editor for the textbook that is required for this class adds to her ego. She teaches totally off topic and her style of teaching is incomprehensible. She is a bully, although she didn't bully me because I dropped the class. No one should have to attend a class and deal with her
She is a very good professor, but the fact that the final exam is basically your whole grade is rediculous. you can make A's and B's on everything amd get a C on the final and get a C for the class....fun teacher but retarded grading system
Dr. Morgan is great! She picked things people would actually enjoy reading. but I agree about the grading. Although, her tests really are not difficult if you read. midterm, final, 4 times taken attendance, oral group presentation. Some of the topics are controversial so go in the class with an open mind and you'll enjoy it! i would take her again!
I thought that this class was pretty easy. I didn't even buy any of the books and still managed an A, and I am by no means an A student. I just paid attention in class and took notes every so often. Dr. Morgan is a little full of herself but when you get past that you'll see shes a nice person.
She was completely fascinating! She was extremely intelligent and really made you think about life. I will try my best to take another one of her classes before I graduate!
She's a very egocentric person, rude and unfair. Don't take her if you can. She rates students based on favoritims, rather than accomplishments.
This teacher is ridiculously awesome. She's well traveled and worldly, which is what tends to either scare some people off or give people the impression that she's egotistical or self-centered. It's a great class to take-a beginner's window into a world seen unclouded. Just show up to class and take good notes and you're good to go. Take the class.
Best class ever!! Easy teacher. Just attend class take notes and it's an easy A.
Professor Morgan is amazing, intelligent, well spoken and well traveled. If you do not enjoy speaking openly about controversial topics, then this class is not for you. Do not bother buying a text book for this class, we haven't cracked it yet and we already took the midterm. Just buy the books you are supposed to read
One of my favorite classes ever! Dr. Morgan is an awesome teacher. She makes her class fun and makes you think about life. Read your readings and take notes and it's an easy A.
I loved this class! I learned so much and didn't mind going to class...in fact, I looked forward! She's funny, very intelligent, well-traveled, and something to aspire to. She almost influenced me to change my major! Definitely take her- she will expand your perception!
This woman is crazy. On the first day of class, I didn't know whether to laugh at her or be afraid of her. Throughout the semester I learned that I should fear her. She is very arrogant and hypocritical. She definitely has her favorite students, and she isn?t afraid to attack everyone else.
Dr. Morgan is obviously well educated and has traveled all over the world-she doesn't let you forget that. She does know world literature very, very well, but she is very self-centered and VERY intimidating. She made students literally cry in class, and she is not afraid to call you out. You have to read the material in oder to do well on the tests
She was a good teacher. She had her opinions and was keen on defending them. This class is pretty much for anyone who likes to talk out in class about controversial topics and having to defend or support a side. I took her in the Maymester so I am speaking from this experience and not of one who has gone a whole semester.
At first i thought, what a bully who does she think she is but as i got to listen to i actually got to like her. She tells it like it is, very out spoken. I must say this class begun my interest for the outside, am filled with the desire for knowledge. Absolutely recommend her but have an open mind when you take the class
I took her class in Maymester and at first I thought she was horrible but after a week I was proven completely wrong. If you get the chance to take her class go for it. You will learn a lot.
Oh my... took World Lit as a MayMester and my #1 the whole time was "When is my World Lit class actually going to be about World Lit???" Talked about psychology, religion, politics, and geography, but very little about actual World Lit. This woman is CRAZY... Do not take if you actually care about learning about the subject you're paying for.
Dr. Morgan is very knowledgeable in what she teaches but refuses to see both sides of an argument. Traveled a lot & doesnt let you forget it. We disagreed on everything but I finished with an A. I think she had it out for me which pushed me to prove her wrong. Don't take if you want to actually learn about World Lit. Came away with nothing useful.
Majority of the comments on professor Morgan are true. She is a very worldy teacher who has seen and done many things. She is a very strong individual who can come across as vain. She is an amazing teacher but you have to be open to what she says. If you are a closed minded person who is very religious I don't think you would enjoy this class.
I took her World LIt class during Maymester. It's definitely doable. Read the short stories and poetry, participate and you'll do well. She is very open with her opinions including her disbelief in God. However, she is a good teacher.
Dr. Morgan does not respect different opinions even though she teaches acceptance. She's really just a contradiction within herself. Other than my personal dislikes for her, the class is moderately easy. Just read the books and pay attention to lectures and you should be fine.
Dr. Morgan is an odd combination of open mindedness, with an inability to accept/allow differing opinions in her class. I know that sounds contradictory. Read the books, there are a lot, and go to class. Easy A.
I thought this was a very hard class and there was a lot of work. Class is mandatory but I felt like what we talked about on the test was nothing about what we discussed in class. Dr. Morgan has a unique teaching style that I did not like. You must study to get a good grade. Allows 3 points extra credit.
Class is mandatory but what I learned in class was not on the test. Must do all the reading to pass this class. Does offer extra credit. Dr. Morgan has a different teaching style and I personally did not like it. I would try to avoid taking this class!
This class is hard but also very much worth the effort. She is an amazing educator. I am a C student in the majority of my classes and i pulled a B out of this class because she challenged me to think. Please consider taking her!
She's never clear on what she wants, ruthless when it comes to presentations and others opinions, and doesn't care about your grade. She offers 3 points extra credit (not enough) and you have 3 grades. She picks random days to take attendance and takes forever to give grades back. She's also bad about responding to emails or questions in general.
The most horrible teacher I have ever had. We spend the entire class talking about things that aren't even on the test. You have to read the books or you will not pass. Offers 3 extra credit points and only has 3 grades the entire semester. Does not care about your grade and ruthless during the oral reports. STAY AWAY FROM HER!!!
Dr. Morgan is very intelligent and she has no problem letting you know that. During oral reports, be prepared for harsh criticism and frequent interruptions. Has her own opinion and about everything and won't let you get a word in if it conflicts them. Three grades the entire semester: oral report, midterm, and final. She's a very poor grader.
Wow, where to start? 3 grades; 2 exams and an oral report. MUCH reading and need to understand fully. Doesn't respond to e-mails. Harsh grading for an oral report; no rubric. Seems to carry a Hate for some students. If you can avoid her , DO IT! World Lit should be an easy A. I worked hard for a B.
She is a wonderful professor. She knows the material and have a different teaching style. I personally like her way of teaching. Yes! you have to be a broadminded student in order to enjoy/learned from this class. I would recommend everyone to take her class especially for internal students. Simply superb.
She rambles about things having nothing to do with the course. Attendance counts toward your grade, but she takes it randomly. She cuts into oral reports because saying 'Basically' annoys her or to question you about events non related that may have happened during that time. She doesn't to respond to emails and treats students like they're idiots.
Dr. Morgan will make you work harder than any other professor in the department. But if you meet her demands, she'll be the best teacher you ever had. Anybody considering grad school needs to take her class. Not only will it introduce you to key concepts and terms -- it will prepare you for the atmosphere and expectations. Invaluable.
Loved it so much I went back for seconds. She can be intimidating to most people but if you keep open lines of communication with her and treat her respectfully, she will do the same to you. She is a tough prof but I'm telling you IT IS worth your time and effort. You WILL have to work and it prepares you for Grad school like nothing else.
Very well educated, and also super opinionated. Definitely has her mind made up about life. Really good teacher. Worth the money. Great may ester class.
I can't believe people would write that about Dr.Morgan. she is super smart and above al she teaches you critical thinking, I learned more in her paymaster than I have a whole semester with most of the teachers at Kennesaw, I would take her again if I could, get to now her brilliant lady, a true asset to Kennesaw! And she is hot!
Dr. Morgan is a genius. Anyone who has a chance to take her should do so and be honored to have been in her presence. Dr. Morgan is an asset to KSU and one of the most brilliant human beings I have ever met.
Not a great professor...super opinionated and can be rude. Not very helpful outside of class and offers very few grades. Exams are killer. She is very intelligent and well-educated but avoid her...she can't communicate her knowledge to students.
Dr. Morgan does not limit herself to english work. Her class is the most comprehensive overview of the humanities available. If this is what you are into, take her. Following her methods will make you more intelligent. She talks about sex, and religion, and race, and gender like any real world person should. If you cant handle it drop out now
Need to rename this class "The Ideas and Opinions of Dr. Morgan(w/ some world lit)" Tests are killer, I read each book&still struggled to keep a B. 2 tests,1 oral report. Agreed with her on many points (I find Marx, Nietzsche, Freud's ideas fascinating)but I just couldn't stand her elitism&treatment of students. Run away, there are way better profs
Like, like, like. Smart lady. Knows her stuff.
She is a horrible prof. RUN AWAY AS FAST AS YOU CAN!! She is not afraid to put down her students for not seeing her views. Barely any grades, and she refuses to put grades in the grade book. She tells us extra credit work, but if you don't go, you'll fail the questions on the final that are over the extra credit. would never take again! RUN AWAY!!!
Horrible. Stay away. She is rude. Although I agree that she is the most intelligent prof on campus, and her opinions did not bother me, she is still rude and stuck up to students. She is stuck on herself and does not explain her expectations well. This is the worst class at KSU. When you loose 2/3rds of a class by the first week, you have a problem
Dr. Nina Morgan is extremely intelligent. This class is stimulating and exposes you to new ideas. Don't take this class if you are stupid. Oral reports are required, and she grades strictly. Get on her good side early and you'll be straight. Talk during class, and interact with her. She loves that.
2 Tests, an in-class presentation, and participation are your only grades in the class
I took this class after reading all the comments on here and was terrified. But to be honest, I never saw her be rude or nasty to anyone in our Maymester. You do have to read alot, and attendance is required, but she treats everyone fairly. Do your work, study hard, participate and you'll be fine. Also, don't BS your way through your presentation.
Nope.
Professor Morgan is incredibly interesting and well-traveled. I loved attending her lectures every time, although attendance is not mandatory. She was never rude or mean to anyone, despite how stupid what I thought some of the other students were saying. Study your notes and read the material you'll pass the tests.
I loved Dr. Morgan! I am an english major but I thought she was genius. She only gives a midterm and final but as long as you pay attention and take notes accordingly and READ EVERYTHING ASSIGNED you'll do great.
I was a student in Dr. Morgan's class. I am proud to say her teaching changed my life. It changed my perspective not only on literature, culture, and philosophy, it also altered the way I view learning. Dr. Morgan taught me the art of learning through exploration. She exposed me to so many amazing ideas and philosophies, I will be forever grateful
My maymester with Dr. Morgan was the best experience of my college career. Such an intelligent and inspiring woman. Class is completely discussion based, and extremely philosophy oriented. I got more out of this course than all my other courses combined. Dr. Morgan personifies what it means to be an educator. Absolutely phenomenal. Amazing woman.
If you're looking for an easy A don't take her. If you want to have discussions that actually make you think, and you want to take something away from a class, she's your gal. Took her for theory based studies and yes the readings are tough and she challenges you everyday, but if you show you're making an effort and do the assignments you will pass
She's a really good teacher. If anyone says she's hard or tough it's probably because they didn't put any work in. This class was extremely easy. And her lectures were engaging and very interesting. Just be willing to do what she asks without cutting corners. That's pretty much any teacher at Kennesaw honestly but overall she's a great professor.
In previous ratings some things are true, but mostly false. She is an intelligent woman and really knows her stuff. However, she is really stuck up and is super rude to students. Pretty much every oral report this semester, she would cut students down and put them on the spot in front of the whole class. I made a B, but she is not too nice.
She was honestly one of the best professors I've ever had. Going to class is pretty essential because a lot of her test questions are from lectures. Two exams, one class presentation, participation/attendance grades, and one extra credit opportunity.
anyway i love this woman
She is the worst teacher I've ever had! She ignores emails, doesn't give back any grades, and her tests in no way correlate to the lecture or reading material. My class went to the head of the English Department about her. Seriously, I'm a 4.0 student. DO NOT TAKE HER!!!!
She had a lot of knowledge to offer, however it was only a one day a week class and we had almost a month off (her absences and holiday). She never knew when people were suppose to present or what materials were on the syllabus. Things she told us that were on the study guide were not on the test. I went to every class and still didn't do well.
Do not take her once a week! All she does is go on and on about her own political views. She gives so many reading assignments, you have to rent like 10 books. You have four assignments. A midterm, two papers, and a final. Thats it. She is literally the worst teacher I have ever had.
Dr. Morgan is easily the best English professor I've ever had. She's obviously very passionate about her job, very knowledgeable about the course material, and very understanding when you have something come up and need help. Dr. Morgan inspired me to get back into reading and I can't thank her enough for that.
I took her for ENG 2110 and the books were super interesting, but the tests were pretty hard! I got a 70 on the midterm and don't even want to know what I got on the final, but she was a great professor! Very passionate, I ended the class with a B from participation grades and such. You DEFINITELY need an open mind when taking her class!!
Rude to students and dismisses any view not her own. Course is a lot of reading and the tests cone from the books. She gives study guides but they're not very relevant to the tests
So there are two versions of Doctor Morgan: 1) The Good One: She focuses on the task at hand and does a pretty good job teaching the subject (I had her for World Literature). 2) The Bad One: I can confirm that she is very dismissive of views that she doesn't share and she's especially bad with political topics. Avoid those conversations with her.
She is respected and compared to old reviews, She have definitely changed a lot. I personally love her style of teaching, where she is not going hardcore on lectures but, discussing mostly the Rhetoric devices and explaining the possibilities. Every class can be hard if you don't study enough for it .
If you don't like to read then don't take this class. She has good lectures but their based on all the books we read. You must pay to read these books and if your lucky you might be able to find a movie on the book. There are better teachers.
This class is very easy to survive. Take good notes, stay on top of everything youre supposed to read, make friends, and form study groups. Its also important to set up office appointments with the teacher. She will be the most helpful person in the class and she will even go over your notes with you. There is no reason why anyone should fail. :)
At first I was really scared to take her but, she is actually one of my favor professors now. She is very funny and caring. There are not a lot of grades but she will work with you. Trust me I am not a reader and I don't really care about Literature, but she made it a very interesting class. She really funny and will make you laugh. TAKE HER!
She's pretty scattered during her lectures. You'll be constantly writing notes. However, she actually cares about her students and will try to talk to you whenever you need to. (Her "Russian Style Finals" are crazy though).
If youre willing to put in the work after class and engage during class you can make an A. If youre looking to skate by and do the minimum then youre going to fail and end up like the other cry babies on here complaining. Dr. Morgan is the prof. you take when you want to grow as a student and individual. This was the hardest class Ive ever had.
I love Dr. Morgan. She is a tough professor, but you will get far more out of her class because of it. I have never laughed so much with a professor before! Be prepared to read and read, you will definitely need it to understand the material, but she will meet with you to help. Dr. Morgan is one of the best professor's at KSU, please take her!
I enjoyed Dr. Morgans class. She is very funny and wants to form relationships with her students. Mostly lectures in her class. Two papers, a midterm and final. She gives extra credit. A LOT OF READING and if you don't read you will struggle. She makes you work for it, but it is a great class. I learned a lot!
If one is willing to put in some time and energy, it is easy to get an A in this course. She assigns a new reading for every class and then reviews the material in every class. DO NOT take this class if you are not ok with discussing politics and being told a professor's political views. Overall, it was an entertaining class.
Dr. Morgan is a force to be reckoned with! Stay clear of the negative ratings; she makes you work for your grade, but it means more in the end. 4 grades total- midterm, final, and two essays. Gives points for participation, so speak up in class and VISIT OFFICE HOURS. The most caring professor I've had thus far; take her and don't be intimidated!
Dr. Morgan is an amazing Professor! I didnt originally sign up for her class but got switched into it. I ended up loving her class. She makes you work hard, but shes super sweet and is always ready to help. Go visit her during office hours and pay attention during class. Dont forget to take notes and read the material and you will be fine.
She is def 1 of the most intelligent people I've ever met. Her class seems way more difficult than it is and i almost had a panic attack every class but ended with an A on everything. I didnt understand a lot but I tried so i think thats why. Show you care, don't slack off, go to class and you'll be fine. But you MUST take it seriously. No skipping
Dr. Morgan is the best professor I've had so far at KSU. She is very knowledgable, so I learned and knew a lot from her class. Her teaching style is traditional, so NO digital books. Things you need to pass the class: come to class regularly, take notes, and read books before coming to class.
Worst professor I've had. Neglected our online class, instructions were incredibly vague, grading was tough. Very few assignments used for your final grade and her rubrics did not match the expectations given in feedback after submitting an assignment. She claimed that an essay that exceeded the word count by 150 words was too short.
Hardest class I have ever tried to take. FEW grades, not enough assignments to save your grade in the class if you do poorly on one.
This teacher is amazing. I currently have her 100% online asynchronous. Throughout the semester, you only have 3 basic assignments, and 6 discussion posts. So amount of work isnt that bad at all. The only thing is that she is a tough grader. Make sure your discussion posts are 500 words. She is super helpful and easily accessible outside class.
I would give her a 0 if I could. She is the worst professor I've had in the last 2 years of school. She is sweet and very big on covid. But her lectures are a waste of time, She talks about nothing the whole semester. Dr. Morgan is very knowledgeable but more for philosophy and not basic World lit. Only 6 grades, fail one automatic C in the class.
She gets terrible hype for trying to get you to think and rethink topics in our society. every time I entered her class and left I felt like a new person. DO NOT take this class if you cannot think for yourself. I enjoyed her class but it is not meant for everyone. Class is heavily based on philosophy because that is the base of everything in Lit.
Great professor! The material is dense, and the course is challenging, but Dr. Morgan is incredibly intelligent and caring. She will go out of her way to help you if you ask. If you are looking for an opportunity to grow yourself and become a better thinker, take her course and come to each lecture with an open mind. You'll learn a lot!!
The readings she picks are interesting and you'll learn a lot. BUT her lectures are all over the place and doesn't know what's going on. You can't skip class and she will even call you out if she hasn't seen your face in a while. Go to class, take notes, and you should be fine. In the end, she's not a hard grader if you just put in the work.
Professor Morgan is an extremely intelligent woman! She has made some great accomplishments and wants you to do the same. The reading material is inspiring and really the only thing you need to do for her class is show up and read what she assigns. She is wonderful to talk to and encourages her students to think outside the box.
Morgan asked if I have a learning disability after I asked her a question regarding her syllabus. Overinflated self worth, try and avoid.
I was signed up for this class, and when the course opened, she had nothing on the D2L page. I emailed her simply asking about the syllabus, and she demanded that I call her. When I did, she asked if I have a learning disability and asked me who I think I am to question her just because I asked for the syllabus. Entitled and power-abusive.
The only good reviews are written in the same style and always mention how "intelligent" she is. She's biased towards certain students and fun of herself. 90% of positive reviews are written by her and TAs (they should try using other words than intelligent every time). Stay away unless you want to waste your time.
So entitled. So degrading. Exam for online class was a 10-minute phone call where she asked 10 questions about the works we read over the semester. Very rude and doesn't grade anything until the very last second.
Dr. Morgan's a professor who will push you and reward you, IF you put in the effort! She's highly acknowledged in the English world and very helpful as long as you are showing genuine attempts to learn and be engaged. I took a Women's Literature course with her and the lectures were structured to be like a conversation which I enjoyed. She's Great!
I first took Dr. Morgan for Critical Theory. The readings assigned were difficult for me, and she expected excellent work. However, I found that she was passionate about helping her students understand and explore the impact of these new ideas. Through rigorous dialogue and application, I developed a stronger capacity to live in a complex world.
An excellent Professor. She exuberantly shared captivating experiences from her own life, which, in many ways, became the unifying thread that brought all of the abstract concepts into our immediate reality, into relevancy. We became involved in the world and the history of ideas. I am forever grateful for her and the impact her course had on me.
Dr. Morgan will help you develop so much as a professional in her courses. The things she teaches you are applicable outside of the classroom as well. She works hard to create an educational space that fosters true growth and learning. I walked away from her course with real experiences that I can put on my CV and resume! She's a great professor!
I hate to leave this review, but this class is stressful and it's just the second month into the semester. The instructions for assingments are vague. The class feels vacant, there is no life to it especially because we can't even have groupme. Do not take her class even if you need to, it's not worth the stress; I usually find ENGL to be fun too.
She is VERY picky about grammar and punctuation but will give you the chance to fix it.She gives video web assignments that are difficult if you're not good with commentary. She would send back my writings EVERYTIME and make me go to the writting center then return and explain what they said to resubmit IT WAS ALWAYS JUST PUNCTUATION! lots of tears
She made a big effort to make me feel like a massive idiot for asking for clarification on how to achieve our largest assignment. If you don't feel like paying to have someone's extremely biased and entitled world opinions intensely shoved at you then I don't recommend taking her. I only remember learning one useful thing the whole semester.
Professor Morgan runs a traditional class - no digital books, just come to lecture, take notes, and read the assigned material. Grading can be picky, but engaging with the content pays off. unstuck ai was a helpful study aid alongside the readings.
The professor was unclear for the weeks leading up to my withdrawal. The classes were on Zoom, and she was on topic for a whole 10 minutes out of the class and then rambled the rest. There was also NOTHING on D2L except a syllabus showcasing her long list of credentials and the Zoom class meet days. Passive with her responses to students' questions
She is very inconsiderate of people's feelings and the class only has two things that are graded. There is no other weight that is added to the overall grade. Do not take this class at all.
Definitely recommend! I took this course for World Literature and would take it again, it was just a lot of work!!
do not take!!!!!!! had the worst time in this class, was graded on VERY few projects that were difficult for no reason, was ridiculed in my final exam phone call. (albeit i took this class two years ago, the warning is needed).
