Knows what she's talking about but cannot explain it to students. Very hard to understand. Could not answer questions well. Not worth attending the lectures because she gets all the information directly from the chapters but the book explains it better.
Knows the material, nice, willing to help beyond official office hours
Very difficult to understand due to her accent, but she's very nice overall. Everything comes from the book, so going to class is sort of irrelevant.
I think this is her first year teaching so there are some things that could use some work, but overall she is a good teacher. She gives extra questions on exams (i.e. 22 questions but uses your best 20) and lots of time for homework. If you study you should pass! Does lots of problems with you in class and this is very useful. Go to class!
Still green, but very helpful. The tests had questions from the lectures and the homework. In addition the built in extra credit helps a lot.
Helpful. Answer to questions, response fast to emails, organized. Tries hard to help every student. Tests are based on the homework/lectures so if just do the homework you are good to go.
She is very nice and helpful! If you do the homework, you should have no trouble passing the exams. Take her!
Her tests will be very easy if you do the homework. She sends links to all the notes so no notes need to be taken in class. Overall the class is pretty easy.
Very nice and helpful. The Pre lab lecture is clear and short. Take her.
Her lectures are structured and easy to follow. Does a lot of practice questions. She is very nice, care about the students and passionate about teaching. Take her classes.
Very easy to follow lectures. Very nice, care about the student?s grades. Many extra practice questions. Bonus questions in tests. Take her classes.
Nice, well prepared and provide extra office hours. If you take her classes, sit in the first row.
The tests are easy, the questions are from the the homework. We had links to all the notes. Overall, without too much effort I got a good score.
Overall, a great instructor, clear, cares about the students, and nice. Take her.
Great Professor, Knowledgeable, clear, nice, and cares about the students. Take her.
She is great and makes chemistry fun. She helps to make the connection b/w the different topics. I now finally understand what I tried to learn @ HS.
She is such a sweet teacher and tries her hardest to help students who are struggling. She truly gives her all. Her class is so easy you just have to study. Easy A.
A great professor - knowledgeable & nice. The lectures really helped me. She explains it just right and clear. Also, very fair, no surprises at the tests, just come to lectures, do your homework and you will be fine.
Take her. Fair tests (no surprises), lectures are very structured and easy to follow, knowledgeable, and most important - nice and helpful.
Best professor EVER!
I don't know what she did different this semester, but it was next to impossible trying to understand her. The tests were difficult. Overall the class was boring I actually fell asleep!
I check her reviews on here before I chose her and no one mentioned how deep he accent was . It's hard to understand her but the class was fairly easy. I could have did better
Take her -- the best professor ever. Very organized and easy to follow, explain everything in simple words that everyone can get it. I wished I had her earlier in my HS. you only need to do homework and you are all set. She also very nice and care about the students.
I wish that she would teach 120 next semester, she is just great.
The lecture recordings really helps. clear and simple explains . The questions in the tests are from the homework.
Do your homework, attend the review (or watch online), you will get a solid A. She is very nice and care about the success of the students.
Thanks for a great course. I strongly recommend her.
I finally understand why science is important even for someone like me who had no interest in science. Great professor.
She care about teaching. I learn in that class how to do, analyze and present graphs! If you have to take Chem101 take her.
This really was the worst class I have ever taken at Eastern. I have not been this disappointed in any professor before. Although she is kind, she is an extremely poor professor, at least for this section. I wish I had better things to say, unfortunately I do not. Her accent is so thick you can barely understand her and content is very unclear.
This really is the best professor i ever had.Chemistry was always hard for me and for the first time, I start to get it. if you have to do 101, just take her.
#1. Presents the material clearly, willing to revisit difficult concepts, and very structured - easy to follow. Always make connections to the previous lecture. Also, covers everything for the test.
Great professor. Go to her office hours, she will work with you until you understand. I hesitated at first because most office hours are waist of time, but she is different. Take her.
thanks for forcing me to finally learn Excel.
She is sometimes hard to understand- yes. However, she is one of the smartest teachers at emu. She makes class seem easy, and is more than willing to help with anything we need. Her tests are easy to ace if you just study her power points. I am not a slacker but I don't try that hard and I'm getting a great grade by just following directions.
This professor works very hard to make us understand. I had some problems and went to her office hours - This semester I am going to pass Chem 101
I honestly think she is not a proficient teacher. Her language barrier is an issue. Skips parts that I think would be important in higher Chem classes The HW is online, which is time consuming (If it were written it would take half the time) and there's no actual feedback, so you're bound to continue making the same mistakes. Take someone else!
I never believed that I could learn any chemistry, but I really enjoyed her class. She is nice, make exceptional efforts to help us to understand, and very knowledgeable.
I really enjoyed her course and hope to take more classes with her in the future. Plus, I finally learned Excel.
Very caring. She gives a lot of extra credit tasks. I tanked the first test but passed the class. Go to her office hours!
Prof. Glazer is very nice and explains the material very well. Exams aren't hard if you keep up with the material.
I took her class last semester. I had to get a recommendation from a professor and she helped quickly and positively. She is very sensitive to financial hardship! Take her and let her know about your problems sooner then later.
Very helpful. I took this class for the 3rd time and luckily I finally got her. A total different experience than what I had before. She has has helped me tremendously and met with me even beyond her official office hours and it paid off. I finally can look forward to student teaching and becoming a teacher myself.
She is the nicest professor I've had. She actually very clear despite having an accent. Also, she is very helpful at office hours.
Science is really not my thing, I just have to take it for my major. Luckily I got Dr. Glazer. She simplifies stuff and make you feel that you can get it. I even start to like it, at least I do not afraid from it anymore.
Just great professor.
Great teaching style! She is very helpful - go to her office hours - very willing to help when you have any problems or questions.
Passionate about the history of chemistry. We learn about who discover what and how. It makes it more personal.
very helpful & nice. She repeatedly make connections between the new topics. She is very clear and provide a lot of examples. Also, go to her office hours.
she is willing to help; however, I do feel that if i had not taken chem in high school, I would have struggled in her class. She can sometimes go a little fast in lecture, but she records them for you, gives you about a week for each homework assignment, & gives extra credit for each test. I had her for lab as well, she lets you work in partners!
Dr. Glazer is a very nice woman, but she is a HORRIBLE teacher. We spent about 3 weeks going over the difference between molecules and atoms, then as soon as she breaks out the ridiculous equations she spends less than a day on each of them, and no one in our class knows how to do them. She says buying the book isn't necessary but IT IS.
Gives you information sheets on every test. Goes over all information multiple times so it feels like the class is slow but the information is ingrained in your head.
Great professor, i would definitively recommend to take it with her. The pace is just right, sometime too slow. She gives a lot of examples. Easy A as long as you go to the lectures and do the homework.
Great professor, take her. All equations etc. very easy as long as you know basic Algebra.
Very good and helpful.
Thanks!
She recycle test questions, get old exams and you'll get an A
History buff. She like the tell story about old people that did something in science.
Nice professor.
Thank for all your extra help. Take advantage of her office hours!
Wonderful professor. Very knowledgeable & nice. Go to her office hours!
very organized and helpful. Very nice.
Great & Clear, I wish that all my professors were like her.
Very helpful and nice.
Go to her office hours - very helpful.
Very clear and helpful.
Not a good Professor. She understands her subject well but struggles to pass that information onto her students . The class was not all that hard especially because I already knew a lot of it, but I found myself most teaching myself the material.
Great Professor, and was always very clear and helpful. DO YOUR HOMEWORK because she will use questions from that on the tests. Go to her Office hours - very helpful.
Makes science clear
Horrible professor. Rushes through problems, and would rather throw you the answer than explain how to do it. Will NEVER take her again.
Gives a lot of problems and explains step by step how to solve it. You can always go to her office and get even more help. She is available to the students, no appointments... just stop by her office.
Not very clear
very helpful and very organized. It is hard because you need math - but if you come to class and do your homework you will be ok.
Dr. Glazer is a pretty good professor who genuinely cares about her students. All she does during lectures, however, is read directly off the slides, which can be frustrating if you don't understand the slides. She posts all of the powerpoints online and is always available during office hours, though, so you can get extra help if you need it.
She is a nice teacher and her class is easy but you cant really understand her and when she teaching you will get lost ...
Very helpful and knows what she is talking about. The homework is easy and helps you a lot in this class.
Terrible professor. She's hard to understand when she talks and isn't clear with problems. She said you need to know basic math for the class but she can barely do them herself.
This class can be confusing if you are not good at math, and she really does not provide much help. Other than test, tests are fair, and homework is okay. She does go too fast on examples in class so make sure to try and comprehend. I hate chemistry, but the best part is that she replaces your final score with a low test score if it's better.
Great professor and nice. Go to her office hours - very helpful.
Clear and organized. Do your homework and you will be fine. Easy tests, as long as you do your homework.
great professor & nice
Good professor, She talked a lot about the history of chemistry. Likes to mention the female scientists.
A great professor, very helpful.
Very helpful
there are many calculations to perform to solve problems. one needs good math skills and calculator. exams were so dense with calculations , it was more about how fast one could calculate than if you know the material. I never could finish test on time , I am typically a 4.0 student. I knew material; complicated problem6s take time, need less ques
She is a great professor. Very nice and helpful. If you show up to class and do your homework you will get an A. Go to her office hours!
Offers extra credit opportunities for every exam up to 6 points can be added. Book is not required.
You will spend hours doing homework. She does not teach well as she blows through her slide show and then goes home. She is lazy, does as little work as possible, yet expects students to spend hours on homework and preparation. She thinks she can show up, read a slide show, then go home. Does not put any effort into her class or students.
Dr. Glazier is honestly the worst professor I've ever had. She's incredibly unavailable; she has one hour of office hours a week. Her English is weak, which makes learning difficult concepts even more difficult. And she reads directly from her power points without elaboration. You'd be better off reading the book and never attending lecture.
worst professor ever! cannot understand what she is saying most of the time. goes through power points and says "we are just gonna do a quick review" when we have no idea what we are looking at. she never puts grades in so you have no idea how you are doing in the class. i honestly learned more from youtube videos than i have in this class.
If you've already taken chemistry in high school, then this class should be a breeze. Even if you haven't taken chem before, this is a slow paced class. Be sure to actually go to class, since there's a lot of in class quizzes. English doesn't seem like her first language, so sometimes she's hard to understand.
You need to know math. Her extra credit is all about graphing. It took me 5 minutes to get the maximum points.
Great professor, care about the students and available.
Very organized, no surprises, just do homework and get an easy A. If you do not do homework, just drop the course...
She is very nice and caring, but her teaching style was terrible. She goes through powerpoints and lectures too fast. She is difficult to understand as English is not her first language. She says you don't need the textbook, I purchased anyway as my Lab instructor highly recommended doing so. If it weren't for youtube, I would have failed!
Great Prof. Go to her office hours, she helps a lot.
Amazing professor. Very considerate. I clearly didn't take it seriously and almost fail and she helped me a lot and kept me on track.
She is very nice and caring, I managed to get B+ even though I hate Chemistry
Great professor. Use her office hours! If you've taken chemistry in high school, then this class should be a easy.
Just do your homework and come to classes and you can get an easy A.
Everyday is a powerpoint lecture but if you miss class they all get posted to canvas. No attendance. When taking notes during class she will tell you important things you need to know for tests and exams. All tests are multiple choice. The class is easy enough if you follow and stay on track. Altogether a good teacher and does have a light accent.
The only grades you get are homework combined and your test and exam scores. No grades are posted until the semester is done with other than tests. The online homework can be difficult at some points but make sure you are positive the answer before submitting becaus you lose points every try.
