I didnt see the point to mgt100. He was an OK prof. Looks like Doctor Evil.

He's better at teaching stats than marketing by the looks of things! He explains theory really well so you'll actually understand. Needs to improve marking though. Best prof to take QMS@)@ with at the school...all the other sods should be fired!!!

Very good professor. If you want all theory , read the book. If you want real life experience and a very interesting professor, go to Nirmal. He makes the course very enjoyable.

You dont have to read the text if you listen to his lectures. This is easier than ECN102 or 204. He explains everything well, and the quantitatives are easy if you stay for his review.

Nirmal was such a nice and understanding prof. Those of you who complain about him probably barely attended class. His lectures were so helpful that it supplemented the text rather than the other way around. Once you went to class and paid attention, you'll do well in his class.

A very nice and down to earth prof.

He wasn't too bad. Does a good job explaining each chapter, but unlike Djabatey, you still HAVE to read the text book. He doesn't assign homework, but if you do McKessock's assigned questions, you'll do well with Gupta. Some got next to perfect (if not perfect) on tests because they did McKessock's homeowork for Gupta's Tests!

Great Guy all around! If things are not clicking, he will be happy to help. Lectures are very clear and enjoyable.

everyone on this site is taking personal hits at him. if you assess his teaching, he's good. he's reviews each class and explains things well. the class is boring because.. well.. its stats but he helps and is a good prof. take him if u want to learn.

I thought he was amazing. I wasn't required to take this course but had tried to learn the material on my own for work. No luck. After taking it with Nirmal, I really understood what I was doing from CI estimates to Mult Reg. If you want to learn, and perhaps move on in statistics after, Nirmal provides you with an excellent foundation.

He's kinda good...I took QMS204 with another prof and failed it. Then I re-take the course with Mr Gupta, I got good grade. He showed us how to use the calculator step by step, so we weren't lost. Yeah, he's not bad.

Great prof. Had him for a CE class, and he stayed behind over an hour after one class to help people out. He knows his stuff and explains everything relatively well. No complaints.

He must have changed his ways, from what other have commented. It's true he doesn't know stats all that well but he's a good prof, teaches well, I never needed to open the textbook, just go to class. Exams are a different story - much harder than examples taken in class (few and far between) and tough grader too... Try to get old midterms!!

Gupta is a great prof. I dunno wat these other people r talkin bout but i think he explains very well & yes, his tests are harder than the eg's he uses in class but he tells the class upfront 2 choose questions 4 him 2 go thru. So y not just TELL him what u want help wit & he'll do those hard questions in class. Blame urselves 4 ur poor grade.

Professor Gupta is GREAT!! He explains the material very well and is very enthusiastic about what he does. He is full of energy and very entertaining/funny. Some ppl may not like him, but it is beyond me why they don't. He is a really great prof. Class average was in the 70s/80s for every midterm/test.

Really good prof. energetic, teaches the material very well. teaches from the ground up so u understand inside out. he prefers in-class discussions rather than one-on-one, so ask as many questions as u want during class and get involved, u'll do well. my class average: B

Great teacher. Made learning managerial economics extremely easy. As long as you follow and understand lectures, you will likely get a B or A in the class. I think my class avg at the end was a B. I highly recommend taking this class, as do most of my friends. Excellent prof.

Decent enough, but not a prof that will go down as one of the nicest / funniest / most knowledgeable I've ever had. But then again, it's stats, so what do you expect?

I was so schocked to see the ratings on this prof..I thought he was one of the better profs I had ever had at Ryerson.. He reallys pushes theory over memorizing and explains concepts thoroughly and clearly. Also, he always conducts a review of the prior class at the beginning of his lecture.

He's a good professor, explains material in depth, makes you understand the concepts. HOWEVER, he has some major attitude problems. He's rude and disrespectful to students, very unwelcoming if you ask him qs after class.He marks really hard, bell-curves the class DOWN!! He actually remarked our tests because he thought the TA marked them too easy!

Great prof! Really teaches how to use stats in real life, I actually knew what I was doing and why. In terms of grades: tests are easy and fair, just make sure you attend his lectures.

Best stats prof. He explains concepts very well and can be easily understood if you attend all classes. Also very dedicated and you could tell that he loves teaching. Not because he wants to show off, but because he really wants you to understand. Great prof for one of the harder courses.

This professor is so underrated! Some students are just **** Head! because they tend to rate professors who tend to give questions that are directly from the class examples like Clare Chua. This professors respond to students' emails, posts extra stuff on the blackboard. He even changed the weighted average near the semester to helpoutallthe stude.

He's a very good prof. If stats is not your area of expertise, take him. he wil make you understand. Qstns on exams are diff from txt book but are the same as what he does in class. attending class is recommended. He's is a little condecending, but whatever right? as long as he explains things well -thats what really matters

This guy is awsome. Hard to understand yes, but posts many helpful solutions on blackboard, and our section covered 2 addtional chapters that no other qms class covered and we all failed but gave us opportunities by changing the weight of our final according to which we'd get the highest possible grade. Above all I think this prof is very helpful.

He's an airhead who doesn't teach well. He makes mistakes during class and confuses you during class. Stick to the book, sleep during class, and you'll be fine.

So surprised at the ratings this prof has recieved! He is an amazing teacher he explains very well if you go to class and take notes you will do great! He never tries to trick you and tests and exams are very easy! Great prof overall!

Best prof i ever had! after failing QMS 202, i took the course again and got an A!! He is very patient and explains until you fully understand. He would review the material learned in the previous class and give good examples. If you attend his classes, you will be fine!

Definitely explains everything the fullest, tried to be funny and make the class entertaining but like it is qms it never will be but good for trying. tests are fair and pretty easy course cause he doesnt complicate things

Very nice and enthusiastic professor. His midterm/quizzes are pretty easy. He is very helpful when you don't understand some questions. Even though he summarizes the textbook, read and do the questions and you will be fine.

This guy's tests are ridiculously hard, most of the time I didn't understand what he was asking for on the tests. Studying from the textbook didn't help at all.

People who are saying he's hard are probably really dumb. This course is a joke, especially with him. The calculator does everything for you. His midterm/quizzes are SUPER easy, just attend class and study off his examples and you'll get a 4.33 easily. He's a really good prof and is also very funny. I highly recommend taking him for stats 102/202!

He is a very good teacher, good speaker and funny too. Most of his quizzes you just need the calculator which he teaches how to use. Goes over the examples in class well. Got 85% before exam but after i jsut dropped. He co-wrote the exam but it was way too hard in my opinion. Most people that had A going in, dropped to Bs and Cs

I had him again for 202, still the same nice prof. Content is slightly tougher, but not bad. He ensures ppl understands and sometimes adds some humor. Quizzes were easy, but his midterm was tough- most of the class suffered. But he was fair on marking the SPSS project and Quiz 2. Just practice the HW Qs and ask help (he's helpful btw) when needed.

Just work hard, and attend classes; you CAN get an A+ with this guy- trust me.

awesomee teacher...super easy...tests are exactly what he says they will be in class...this is my 2nd time takin stats the first one i had with jason...nirmal is EASIER!!!!

He tries to be funny but he is'nt!!He is a tough prof!his midterm and finla are sooooooo hard!

One of the best profs i've had. I had him for both qms classes last year. Anyone that says his midterms are tough clearly needs to sit down and study harder. His midterms are nothing but fair, i got a 100 percent on one of them. He really wants to help his students, so he goes over the material really well. I would defiantly recommend taking him!
