Very interesting class and She teaches it very well. Had her in a lecture hall, so no presentations were required. First Exams based on textbook and notes but the other 2 from my notes which was based on what she talked in class, not what she writes down.

Be prepared to watch a lot of movies in this class. Her test questions are detailed and difficult. Professor Lutwak is easygoing and has a nice personality.

She is a great professor. Although you need to really memorize and study your text book in and out cause exams aren't exactly easy, you will love going to this class. Class discussions are interesting and you will have fun. Just put in a few hours and study for exams and you should get an A.

This was a really easy class. I got an A on every single essay assigned. There is also no final!!! just make sure to read the stories, which are, of course, boring. He does take attendance.

She's a very nice professor and explains things very well. But u still need the book and you have to read it! It's not an easy A. You have to study hard for the test beacause there are lots of spedifics. If you have a problem, she is always willing to help you. class is very interesting cause its everyday life...she also shows lots of movies!

Although there was a lot of material to know and the test were on both the lectures, movies, and the text, this was one of the most interesting courses I have taken. She is an amazing prof. and I hope that she teaches other courses in psy. for my future degree.

Very nice lady, Interesting class, tests are a bit hard. A good portion comes from the book & in a very detailed manner ie: extra factoids like polls on the margins that you usually never read when reading the book. Everyone usually bombs 1st test, so dont get discouraged cause she drops lowest of the 3. After that it gets fun and easier.

Not the easiest professor but interesting class. You definitely learn a lot. 3 exams, all MC, but REALLY tricky. In the end, you probably come out with a grade lower than expected. Overall, she's a nice person.

Very simple grading system, 3 exams. No curve. Interesting class. Tests are not incredibly tricky. The first test will catch you by surprise, so read each chapter and note all important points. After the first exam, the 2nd and 3rd exam are similar, read in depth. You will get exactly what u deserve from the 3 exams. Got a B- cuz of first test

she is a great person and she was very helpful. i always looked forward to her class cuz she was so interesting and she always showed videos to illustrate her ideas. the only downside of her is that her tests are a little hard and tricky so it is a little hard to get an A. I got a B+ but i didnt care cuz i really enjoyed her class--take her!!!

I think she's fantastic. If you want someone who teaches the book...don't take her. She'll make you do the work, her exams are hard, but she's great. She's a psychologist, she's been out there, and she's passionate about her subject. Take her. You'll feel like your actually in college.

I think this was by far one of the top three classes I took at Baruch. She is organized, knows her subject matter and interesting. She's been doing this forever and she's not jaded. She makes you read, study and come to class. It's not easy, but worth it. She's terrific. Take her!

I really have to disagree with the test is hard comment because I used to fall asleep everyday for at least an hour in her class(i'm narcoleptic), but for the exams, all I did was study the vocab definition in the textbook and I ace through all of them. I would take her again if I could.

Really nice professor. The course is based around watching movies. Gives four MC tests all with 50 Questions. Posts Outlines for each chapter on blackboard prior to test. Drops lowest test grade. Cancelled the final exam. Attendance counts for you not against you. I recommend her.

best professor ever. 3 MC exams, optional final, extra credit just for coming to class on time. goes over everything you need to know in class, so you don't really need textbook. outlines were made by TA, and won't be as good as your own notes, but still handy. Great lecturer. She engaged the class very well and was interesting. Reading the textbook is a must because there was a lot of terminology to remember. Tests were all multiple choice (about 40-50 questions per test) and aren't a walk in the park. Extra credit was given to students for completing and presenting a project for the class.

she's great. Interesting class, 4 tests, 1 paper and 1 group project. Alot of work, but worth it. I give her a 10.

Tests are easy, not tricky at all. Just read the book, take notes on it, study her outlines, and reread the notes a couple of times and you will do fine. Don't think just studying from a study guide will get you a good grade. I hear ppl complaining about how the tests were tricky. They just study the outlined parts and don't read the whole chapter.

Great lectures, very understanding, very fair. There are 3 tests that you have to study for, option of extra credit available by the end of the semester. For me, one of the most inspirational teachers I've had a chance to meet. Highly recommend.

Overall great professor. Would recommend her. We mainly watched movies and documentaries to relate to the material and then discussed them. It seems to me that all psychology textbooks are written by brain-dead statistic trackers. They are just so awful, especially this one. Getting through every chapter was a grind that I was not looking forward to. Apart from that, she's a good person and professor. No complaints, except for the book, IT'S AWFUL!!!

This class is very interesting and Dr. Lutwak taught it very well. She is very nice and helpful. She showed a bit too much videos which made it seem like the tv was doing the teaching. Her exams are MC and you get to skip 3 Q's. 80% of the test is based on her notes. Read the book to cover the other 20%. The book is kind of wack though...

I LOVE this professor!! If you want an easy A, take someone else. She's great, makes the material come alive, goes into depth, is interesting and makes the class fun. The reading is ridiculously detailed, three MC exams, papers are optional, and counts attendance.

I LOVED this class. It's not for everyone, as you're expected to do the readings, and know it. Three MC exams, one paper, and group presentations.Class is mostly discussion about assigned readings and films. You have to think and analyze! Great for me as I got to use my brain. Not for everyone.

I just graduated and this was one of my favorite classes at Baruch. It was stimulating and alive. I looked forward to it twice a week. One paper, one group project and 3 exams. Worth it.

Honestly it was one of the most interesting classes that I have taken at Baruch. Sometimes when we had holidays I was feeling that I was missing something.

This class was interesting and fun to attend. Lectures are interactive and two movies and shown which take out about four classes. Three straight forward exams and no final :-D

Professor Lutwak was absolutely amazing. It was my final semester at Baruch and this class made me happy (ok maybe an exaggeration) to be in school at 9:30am. The class consisted mainly of watching and discussing movies and how they relate to life.

This was one of the best classes i hve tken so far.As a psych major i can say this class is so helpful in numerous ways.Lutwak teaches the class very well.If you need a elective to take, definetly tke abnormal psych wit prof lutwak. All i can say is TAKE HER!!!. Truly loving person, and very knowledgeable. She knows her stuff. 3 easy non-cumulative exams that require only memorization of definitions with a very accurate review sheet. Extra credit assignment is also available. Easy A!!

ATTEND all the lectures because sometimes questions on the exams come from her lectures. 3 exams each with equal weight and an extra credit paper. Not going to say it easy but work for an A

I loved this class, especially after accounting! It's a lecture, but she involves the class and makes the material interesting. I like her better in a smaller class - but Dr. Lutwak is always worth it.

Pretty straight forward professor. She is very calm, laid back and approachable. Gives 3 MC non-cumulative exams. There is no final just the 3rd non-cumilitve exam. gives extra credit. Without book you wont get a good grade, Her lessons are somewhat general and only capture very little to what would be on the test. Also watch movies.

Love this class! There 3 non-cumulative exams and an extra credit paper. The lecture is fun and really interesting. You will learn a lot from her personal experience, your classmate's experience, and the movies/video she showed in class.

Great person, explains everything so well. Lectures are so interesting that sometimes you forget that you actually shouldn't be too laid back because you will be tested on that stuff. It's not a MUST but I recommend reading the textbook. Not an easy A, but possible since you will actually enjoy reading the textbook.

She is simply perfect. Take her if you can and pay attention to her lecture and you will get A. She does not overload students with stupid things and learn nothing, she is helpful, clear and respectful. I hope I will have a chance to take her for more PSY classes.

One word: amazing. She knows how to engage the class by actual writing instead of some who just read off powerpoint slides in a monotonous voice. She's sweet and sympathizing. Professor Lutwak is the BEST professor I have ever had. Classes are fascinating and engaging. It is a large class but she makes an effort to include everyone. She is clear, helpful, and knowledgeable. Personal stories really bring the subject matter to life and makes it stick in your head. I wish every professor could be half as lovely as her.

I took her for Abnormal PSY. I'm a business student, but I'm taking too many PSY classes because I'm planning to change major for graduate school. Dr. Nita is the best professor I have ever had. I took her during fall 2014 and I always miss her . Don't miss that chance to attend her class, she is amazing!!!

Prof. Lutwak is an awesome professor. If you have the opportunity to take her than i would recommend you do. She's an experience professor in the field and gives amazing lectures including real life experiences. She gives 3 exams which are mc and no final plus an extra credit paper.

Her bubbly, unique personality made me LOVE Abnormal Psych. She makes the class a lot of fun, and tries to get you to remember everyone's name. (In a room of 200+!) You definitely have to read, but she goes over EVERYTHING the day before an exam. Even the textbook. She used personal stories to help illustrate the topics. You watch two movies.

I took Dr. Lutwak for a group supervision course while attending grad school. She is one of the top clinicians I've encountered. She's brilliant, caring, and super relatable. In my 6 total years of college/grad school, I can't say that I can recall a class in which I've grown in more. Few teachers can touch your soul the way she can.
