New to SJSU from Texas. Accent, but is fully understandable. Assignments very easy but get a little challenging towards the end of the semester; nothing crazy. Somewhat unorganized with deadlines for assignments and due dates. Unclear on what final contains. Grading easy. 20 question quizzes, no midterm, only final exam and HW. Poor time mgmt.
He is new to SJSU, I took his class last semester which was his first semester teaching. He was a little un-organized which is understandable since he's new but the great thing about his is he genuinely cares about the students learning and enjoying the class. Very helpful and he loves to share interesting information which was fun for me.
Very easy professor. He's very flexible and will do anything he can to make things work for you and make things fair. I think he's slightly new to teaching, so could get harder as time goes on. He kinda got taken advantage of by students, haha.
I'm not really fan of this teacher. He's a bit confusing at times. Because he's new he's still trying to figure out what works and what doesn't work for the class. I wish I had taken the other teacher, albert. The material is not hard, it's just that he makes it harder than it should be.
He is easy...he just wants you to pass and understand it. Be honest with him and he will work with you.
The best teacher at SJSU. He wants his students to actually learn.Interesting lectures.
Out of my 2 years at SJSU, this guy has been my favorite. He is new at teaching, so he's still feeling his way around. He is very fair, and really cares about his students' learning. He made a difficult course easy to learn. He gives plenty of opportunity to gain points. He is not all about mid terms and finals. I highly recommend this guy.
Awesome Teacher! Wish he was teaching more MIS classes! He wants you to learn and he cares about students.
He is an awesome guy...Recommend it to everyone..
He wants you to read the book, then post on this site he calls Wiki about the material you just read (as if you are an expert in the subject) and the next day you take a quiz. Basically, you are teaching yourself. His lecture are boring and a wast of time.
One of the Best teachers in the business division... This guy is cool, smart, and intrigues you... Can't say enough about him... If you are in school to learn and grow as an individual this guy will help you on your journey. More than a teacher, gave me motivation and counsel on personal affairs.
This guy was awesome! I recommend him to everyone I know. His quizzes were extra credit and his homeworks and wiki's were easy. Just read the book and take good notes and you'll do fine!
One of the greatest professor in SJSU. Very smart, cares about the students learning and gives students motivation....a lot more.. Strongly recommend to take his class.
This class was easy! Yeah, the wiki work was boring but all you do is just write about the chapters. It's not rocket science. Besides that there are study questions for each CH (that might show up on quizzes) on the book publisher's site. Hint use it! Exams were easy. Getting and A in this class is do-able. Prof. Aggarwal is a great professor!
No structure whatsoever. He switches assignments and extra credits to the point where two weeks later, HE does not even know whether it was an assignment or EXC. He does know the material, but he is better at creating an application, than teaching it. His self-made social website is a requirement to post Q&A's. Wastes first 45 mins of every class.
Alright teacher. Expects everyone to know what they're doing already haha. Course material is kinda easy but you jus gotta pay attention. And if you dont understand, he points you towards the forum and ask your questions there.
People who complain about him never went to class or just didn't pay attention. Most students surfed the internet and ignored lecture. Anyhow, just go to class, pay attention, and study the textbook. Tests are MCQ so you don't need to be a genius. Offers lots of extra credit. Impossible to do bad. Course info on his website. HW takes time.
Good guy, makes you laugh, easy learning enviorment. He's quite unorganized, has a website that is rarely updated. Dosn't run by schedule. Class is not bad. Take him and do the work required, you will do fine.
What should I say about him? The best teacher in San Jose State University. But I m really shock to see that he got less good ratings than Burkhard.. Woooohoooo Don't worry prof. Aggrawal, you getting all 5's here. But too bad he is not teacher 110A next semester. I feel sorry for students. GREAT TEACHER!
Sorry accidentally I checked off "Hard" he is very easy. See the comment below.
All I want to say is that I really wanted to fail his class and take the class with other professor again. Learned nothing. If you want to just pass this class, take it. He will give you all possible credit to pass the class. Don't blame if you learn nothing.
Great Professor! yes he does expect us to know everything..well yea... duh if u ve taken 92 you should be knowing this.. you have to definitely pay attention in class and just practice VB and definitely do all the assignments, there is no structure but that's good as that prevents plagiarism
Class is easy, but very unorganized. If you don't know the language already, then you still won't know it after this course. I got an A and don't still don't feel like i've learned anything.
There is no reason why anyone should fail this class. He gives you tons of chances for EC, so you have to be extremely stupid not to pass this class. There were 2 curved tests, 4 access labs, 1 access quiz, and a final. Participation is highly important, so going to class would be a good idea. He's also a good teacher, so that's always nice.
I'm not sure what I learned from him. Nothing really. He had an annoying way of talking where he would ask a question *pause pause pause* and then answer it himself. He was lazy with the tests. Most of them questions are from the publisher or his old tests which are all posted online.
Prof. Aggarwal is a really nice person; however, to get a good grade, you need to practice! practice! practice! writing your code and testing it. I think he grades relatively fairly, but for me, programming is just not my thing so it was very difficult for me. He is a bit difficult to understand because he does have an accent.
He means well, knows his subject. Exams are mlt choice and taken on comps. Don't try to cheat it wont work. Rare txtbook use in class, good study aid however. About 4-5 prog hw's. 2 exams and a final. Curves class and offers tons of ec. Respect him and not stare at ur comp screen all class, join MISA, prtcipt and you can guarantee a good grade.Guru
He isn't hard as long as you do the work and attend class. Has an accent, but still understandable. There's a few prog. hw, quizzes for each chapter, 2 midterms, and a final. He gives a ton of extra credit for class participation! Didn't do too well at keeping up w/ grades until the end, but it might be b/c his wife had a baby in the middle of sem.
Easy Class!Class consists of blogs,hw,access, and exams. The blogs are easy all you have to do is summarize each chpt. The exams can be tricky but majority of the questions are vocab/term related. He gives out tons of extra credit! The access can be time consuming. Take advantage of his laziness...Awesome professor, funny, and interesting class. Easy A/B!
This teacher is pretty chill and cool. The class is a lot of work though. You gotta read the chapter notes and all that stuff because there will be many quizzes. Lots of homework assignments too, but he's a good teacher, and teaches you the fundamentals and basics for you to move onto the upper division programming courses
Extremely difficult to learn. I did all the readings, homework assignments, attended all lectures, and studied the notes and I did terrible on both midterms. I managed to work my butt of enough to manage a B, which was only due to an extra credit assignment. Don't feel as though I learned much. Lectures aren't helpful.
Great teacher!! You must have an aptitude to understand material, some don't and have want to quantify material to non-related means. Just like a language you have to understand new theories and syntax. Great for me, saw many struggle, but not teacher's fault - difficulty with the adaptation of theory. Teacher gave out many free points to help!
Really hands on class and he teaches fairly quickly. Aggarwal loves participation -- use that EC! To get As on quizzes/MT and Final, study out of the book!! There's no excuse not to pass.
Nice and fun professor. I had no programming experience before this class, so it was hard at first. Reading the book before class really helps you understand what's going on in lecture. The book has a lot of programming exercises, so do them! Exams can be tricky (multiple choice), but it's all from the book. He gives extra credit (up to 5%) too.
Have to teach yourself. Doesn't teach just tells what to do..most scramble to keep up. MUST do examples from book and practice on own if you want to learn anything. He only gave one HW whole semester. Gives tons of EC cuz he knows scores will be low. Too bad there isn't another professor..Goodluck. Got a B and couldn't code a single line.
I have taken other programming classes before taking this class. This guy really puts lots of effort into making things easy to understand. My other teachers didn't, and I went through hell for that! So, I appreciate his way of teaching! But I annoyed of how he got so frustrated with the overall class's midterm average. It's not necessary, I think.
Professor truly cares about helping his students do well in the class. 2 midterms and 1 final. Quiz questions reappear on midterms and final occasionally. Adjusts the way he gives tests depending on how well the class does. HW comes from the textbook sometimes and has weekly quizzes so you need to read.
Best professor I have taken in SJSU so far! He really cares about his students and will do whatever he can in order for his students to be successful. It is so hard to fail this class! If you don't put in the time obviously you won't do well, but if you do the class will be a breeze!
Awesome professor that truly cares about his students. Always try to improve his teaching by incorporating new ideas and innovation into lectures. Only down side is the classes can be too easy sometimes. He needs to step up the game and challenge students at every level.
Excellent professor ! Will set a really good base for your MIS classes.
Awesome professor that truly cares about his students. Always tries to improve his teaching by incorporating new ideas and innovation into lectures.
THIS GUY IS A CHAMP! But this isn't an easy A class, neither is it an easy B. You can't half ass your work and your study ethics. But if you do the homework, go to class, listen to the teacher, read the book and UNDERSTAND the material, then you'll do fine. Greatest Brofessorprofessor I have had in a long time.
Very good professor. After both midterms, he would ask the class for feedback and would try his best to accommodate for everyone. Homework assignments aren't easy but if you listen in class, it shouldn't be too hard. Easily approachable and a lot of extra credit opportunities.
This class was quite interesting because the professor used real world problems in his lectures every now and then. He definitely caught my interest. He was really negotiable with his students and he really wants them to pass. Make sure you participate in class in order to receive a higher grade!
He gets off topic often and then rushes to finish lecture. He gives 20 point quizzes randomly so its best to go to class. Homework is easy but time consuming. Test questions are the quiz questions. Everything was multiple choice.
First semester teaching the course but you can tell he is very knowledgable with the material. Very down to Earth prof that loves what he does. Lectures flow around him giving real world examples. EC for those who actively participate in class. Exams online not bad. hwk is just chapter summaries you post online. Overall great prof. would reccomend.
3 Exams. HW is chapter summaries that you are allowed to use for the test. Also salesforce lab which you do some at the lab or for homework. Extra credit offered for those that participate during class. Lectures are entertaining, engaging, he is very knowledgeable. No technology during class time. In class assignments to encourage class attendance.
I love Nitin's lectures. Shares a lot of interesting facts/stories from the tech world making class interesting. For homework it was journal format where you write a summary which i think makes you understand the homework very clearly since you write what you learn in words instead of doing assignments not related to the chapter.
Really cool professor that goes beyond textbook to get excited by tech world. Class is made up of 2 midterms and 1 final exam. Hw consists of 10 chapter summaries throughout semester, which you can use during exams. Attendance is recommended as he occasionally gives easy in class assignments worth lots of points.
Very unclear on what he wants for assignments. Randomly says that an assignment/test will be a certain way in class, and then he does not update Canvas to reflect that. Grades harshly because he doesn't remember changing the assignment. Lectures are good/helpful. Participation is important & he makes it easy to get points. Great person, okay prof.
Lecture-based, but encourages participation to get extra credit points. Assignments and exams aren't too difficult, just tedious. Lets you have a cheat sheet for exams. He's very knowledgeable and encourages us to read tech news. Textbook isn't necessary. Two cons are his unclear deadlines and he'll call you out for being on your phone or laptop.
He tries to make lectures not boring. He's a bit unorganized, or structured. Sometimes he tells you there will be a quiz, other times you find out when you get to class. Attendance isn't mandatory, but sometimes he will do random in class exercises for points.
Nitin is amazing for Bus111. Class is always interesting as he knows the subject very well. His assignments are very fair and you learn the material from doing it (not regular bookwork). Kind and wants everyone to succeed! Quizzes are mostly from lecture and study for the test by reading the chapters and going over your chapter summaries
He is respected and known as a walking encyclopedia in tech. He is very passionate with the field and is a great teacher. He skips most points on the lecture and focuses on application of concepts. Definitely an easy A. He is very lenient with deadlines. Grades consists of midterms (super easy), chapter summaries that he doesn't read, book review.
I would say professor Nitin is very knowledgeable in the IT industry, some people call him wikipedia of Tech. He almost knows everything on the current tech things. There are 10 quizs based on your chapter summaries and two midterm and one final. His test is very straightforward, you will learn a lot from his class. Take him!
his talking is relating to the real world business so its interesting. he lets us use cheat sheet for the exams. there are some labs and you need to still come to the class even though it can be done at home. he will give you some class exercise without announcing so go to every class.
One of the best professor in MIS department. He has knowledge about anything in tech especially networking!! He can be flexible with the assignment if people ask him. Overall, professor Aggarwal cares for his students
Prof A is one of my favorite professors at SJSU. I know i got a C+ but if I would have studied a little more for the tests i would have gotten a solid B at least. there are quizzes for every chapter but if you study his chapter summaries you will be fine. two midterms and a final where he lets you use notes for the last 15 minutes of the test only.
Quizzes &exams are MCQ and extremely straightforward. Lockdown required but no camera needed because "I don't want to see you in your house". 5-hour lectures were a drag during the summer but pro: no group project. **Assignments: Requires Salesforce account $20 and following the directions he gives on the pdfs. Tedious work but easy.
I took this class as well as two other classes for the first session of summer which I was scared about being too much work. This class was surprisingly very easy. 4 hour lectures passed by quickly with Nitin's humor and lecture style. Grades easy for assignments. Would recommend for online and summer.
Great professor, will take again for any other business classes he might offer. He's nice, clearly cares about students. Excellent teacher, his assignments are interesting and you can learn a lot from them. 10/10, one of the few professors that I will always remember. Thanks for the great semester, Professor Aggarwhal.
Great teacher. Prof makes the lesson understandable and very relatable. He is pretty chill, he does take alot of suggestions such as completely skipping bunch of homework assignments if we are behind on schedule. Very accommodating
An easy yet annoying class. Took during COVID, can't really tell if the professor wants to be there himself. Picks up phone calls during class, disorganized, + provides unclear instructions. Gave a paper w/o guidelines since he "hates to provide" them, then criticizes class for not meeting expectations. Bright side is that his TA grades everything.
Knowledgeable professor which is his downside. He knows what he is talking about but cant explain it or teach well to the students. End of chapter quizzes given out so attendance is a must. Reading the book and his chapter summaries is much better than his lectures imo. He makes quizzes harder than they need to be especially with the m/c options.
He is a very generous professor. He does provide lots of resources to students who want to know more about data networking. He does provide lots of interesting videos and articles.
Amazing Class if you want to learn. Need to read the book, but it is actually interesting. Take this professor if you want to learn in college! Also participate a lot it will help
What a WASTE of my time and money. He is disorganized and unprepared and doesn't know what he is talking about. He doesn't even make the quizzes problems or lecture ppt by himself. He just comes lecture and all he does is just casually talk and sit. There will be nothing you will learn from this class. Literally nothing.
I am not sure how the classes have been before but, this class is a disaster. The lectures do not help you with the test. Surprise quizzes. The directions for the homework is laughable. No study guide. No organization. He seemed like a good teacher before going back to in-person classes. Not sure what happened.
USE QUIZLET for QUIZZES that will save you. Study that and you are passing the class. Every neg review is prob. they don't like how he doesn't go off the textbook. The teacher like to focus of showing how applicable the class content is related to the real world. For someone who doesn't know anything about networking, I learned a lot.
Professor Aggarwal is a very knowledgeable professor with plenty of experience in the tech field. That being said, despite his experience he is not the best at teaching new concepts to a classroom. Instead you have to read the chapter assigned coming before class in order to really understand the material. Just put some effort and you'll be fine !
Professor Aggarwal is a very knowledgable professor who has lots of experience in the tech field and makes the lectures very interesting. There is one quiz per chapter and a total of three exams. The best way to do well on the quizzes and exams is reading the classroom textbook. He is usually very lenient on grades and assignments.
Good at doing interesting lectures. Few easy assignments. Gives out extra credit for participation. He doesn't wear a mask whenever he lectures, though. Pretty irresponsible with COVID-19. If students have to wear a mask, he should have to as well. He will literally lecture for four hours without a mask on.
I loved his class! He finds new and interesting ways to teach the material and loves to get students involved. So many extra credit opportunities. The class material is difficult but he makes it easier to learn and succeed in the class. If you're someone who likes to skip class - don't - you'll miss a lot of important info.
The best teacher ever! very interesting and respectful. beware of pop quizzes though, other than that my favorite teacher
3 exams that are open note. Notes are from textbook not really the lectures. Read the book and notes and you'll get an A. That simple. Don't skip class u will miss out on valuable info. Like whens the exam and info that can help your understanding of new tech. No quizzes.
BEST PROFESSOR EVER! Every lecture is worth attending and explains topics excellently! He actually made networking & data communication interesting and enjoyable. I got a lot of value from his class both technically and in life lessons. 3-page written open notes for exams. Pay attention in lectures and you'll do well. PARTICIPATE for extra credit!
Pretty easy class. Class structure is fairly normal. 5-6 HW Assignments graded on completion, 3-4 pop in-class assignments graded on completion, quizzes during class at the end of every chapter, 2 midterms and a final. He also makes you attend a certification program but also graded on completion. Make up a quiz/in-class assignment at end of sem.
Really cool dude, he keeps everything real and doesn't make you waste time on learning useless things. Not a hard class at all just show up do a few things read a little bit every once in a while nothing too hard. Would definitely recommend.
Prof Nitin is really the best! He actually relates the content to the real world problem so it's easier to understand. I can see for someone who's not interested in working in a technical-oriented position, this might be harder to follow, but he's very accommodating. I learned so much and am sad that he's not teaching other undergrad classes
This professor is Amazing, I am an older student who came back and I was never bored of his lectures, he always added stuff related to the real world and didnt read off the slides. He gives Extra credit which made a difference between letter grades. Put some effort and you will pass easy. Great professor and I would love to take his class again
Class can be difficult to learn and follow along since he talks a lot but is fun and makes things interesting. Few assignments and in class assignments will be randomly chosen so go to class. Midterms and final can be difficult to memorize.
This Professor is great, his class is easy in my opinion and he keeps his class active. Take him if you need an easy grade. Just show up and do the work and it's an easy A.
The course is BUS4188. Course for summer session. One of my favorite courses taken. The class was online MW 0900-125. Lecture heavy, participation required, & straight forward. 1 midterm and exam which was open book. Do not hang back in the background on zoom. The professor was relaxed, funny, and wants you to see the impact of AI in business.
You're going to want to understand that in this class, he really wants you to participate, but its just for extra credit. He's not going to give you very much homework, but will test you on your knowledge so get ready to study slides. Tests are not hard at all, all were MCQ around 60 questions. To get an A, do what he asks and if you need help, ask
Participate for extra credit, lots of points given. Assigns classwork as he lectures so pay attention and show up. Really easygoing and understanding with deadlines. 1 midterm, 1 final, salesforce labs (easy,) and daily AI "blog". Really knowledgeable and brings guest lecturers that are within the field. Don't cheat, he checks if you leave the page
He is pretty chill, he mostly yaps about real-world technology issues. He makes jokes. And there are very few assignments that he gives out. 2 Midterms and 1 Final. Salesforce Labs (6 labs, 15 points each). Extra-Credit In-class participation. Easy class.
He teaches the concepts rly well, they can be confusing in the textbook. 1 pt ec every time u participate. beware of in class assignments when he notices students are dipping. quiz after every chapter. no lockdown but checks if u leave the page. hw is light and ez. exams are a bit tuff, three exams including final 200 pts each, doesnt drop anything
I had professor Aggarwal and it was for 91L which is not an option but it goes over computer tools for business. It was a pretty hefty workload but it was sort of spread out, and his syllabus was pretty vague and he did not talk to the class much which is understandable as it was async but a little guidance would've been good. Use YT tutorials fr!!
Prof is chill. Lectures r amazing by engaging with the class and provides a lot of real-world examples on computer networking. You r graded on a few in-class activities, chapter quizzes, midterm, and final. You need to study hard for this class to do well on the quizzes and midterms. Make sure to read the textbook and study the quizlet questions.
Dr. Aggarwal is super nice and always has interesting topics to discuss in class. You should participate whenever possible because it's free points if you do. Not very much HW and exams are pretty easy if you pay attention in class. He's probably the best professor I've had at SJSU.
