Take this class for an instant boost in your GPA! Don't take this class if you want to learn much about math (he jokes more than he teaches). P.S. One of the most disorganized teachers I've ever had
No Comments
Used to assign quizzes and not give them because he was too lazy to write the test the night before. He's an easy teacher though.
He is one of the best teachers i have ever had. he explains something over and over again till everyone understands it. Besides, he is very cute.
Best teacher i've had so far. He makes the class very fun, and he doesn't stick to the book like it's a bible.
A student's dream professor. He is a very funny and smart professor. Always glad to answer any questions with clear answers. He never looks at his book and has everything memorized, i wonder what his IQ is. Very inteligent prof.
Great guy. Perfect professor. Calc 2 is a sh!tty class but he made it almost fun. Jokes around, plus he knows his stuff. Willing to help out, even gave me his cell phone number in case i needed to get ahold of him. Definitely would reccomend
Best teacher i've had in college so far. He makes math so much more tolerable and he knows his stuff. He doesn't need to look at the book every 2 seconds. Very helpful and understanding.

Most chill guy ever. Generally an awesome class.
he's the man. explains everything well and is more than willing to answer questions or go over stuff you don't understand. the only drawback is that his style doesn't prepare you for the department final.
hes the man. very chill and laid back b/c hes a phd engineering student at NU. he doesnt really prepare you for the dept. final bc it's style is a lot different. good luck for that
Probably the best math professor you'll ever have. Really helpful, funny, knows what hes talking about, all around great teacher.
Z is the best professor. I've had him for about 3 semesters in a row, and I've worked with him in RSO. Laid back more than he probably should be, but is always willing to meet up with a student falling behind in class to help and explain things from class. Gotta love those DBZ shirts he wears to class too haha.
Fantastic teacher. The best Calc. Professor out there. Very knowing and serious about what he's doing. A+++
Best teacher ever. Funny and knows his stuff. He will keep explaining something until everyone gets it.
great teacher. very easy to understand and does a lot of examples in class. his quizzes follow what he teaches to a T. definately one of the better math profs
great instructor. he explains concepts very well; yet he doesn't get the class bogged down in insane proofs and super math jargon.
That's how teachers should be....

Zaarour is by far the best math teacher I've ever had (ever), always explains everything and never just leaves you hanging. Doesn't bog you down with things you don't need, but makes sure you learn everything you need to. If you get the chance to take a class with him, DO IT!!!
Great class goes over everything you need, fun class, definately take his class
One of the best teachers I've had here. Calc 2 is SO much nicer with him!
Its an easy class but hes not very good of a teacher. he teaches well i suppose but doesnt go in depth and jokes around a lot. Hes immature and he makes your DEPARTMENT final practically impossible
That's how teachers should be. it's what you hope for when you get to college. someone who cares.
Best Professor Ever!!
Best class i've taken in college so far.
He rocks the world of engineering! Take his class.
He looks like Vin Diesel. Cool guy.
Thank god i waited till this semester to take stats ... I never thought anyone can make this class interesting, but i was wrong. Amazing professor and always willing to help
He is a really nice guy and a great professor! I definitely would recommend him for business stats. He has a few graded homework assignments, 3 tests (1 is dropped) and a final. You also get to use cheat sheets on every test so there is no excuse for doing bad in the class.
hes really good about meeting with you for extra help if you need it. but if you need the class for NUCORE and dislike math, i would take logical reasoning
amazing. unbelievably amazing. clear, understading, extremely intelligent, extremely helpful, extremely hot and extremely fun.
Absolutely love this teacher! He teaches really well, you dont even have to read t textbook anymore after you get home. Only talks about necessary materials and wont bore you with other nonsense. Extremely nice, lets the class of early, collects late homework w/o taking off points, easy tests, you HAVE TO TAKE HIM if you wanna learn and do well.
Best professor
he's amazing
He is great. Hard exams but teaches the subjects clearly.
Great teacher. Very clear, enthusiastic, always willing to help and answer questions, and doesn't make anything harder than it has to be. His quizzes/tests are straightforward and he prepared me well for the department final.
Great teacher and great guy. Smart, funny, clear, understanding. Plus he looks exactly like Vin Diesel so that's entertaining. Attendance is not mandatory but recommended, as it is easy to fall behind. I had no interest in stats coming into the class and Z made it worthwhile.
if you're going to take stats, take him!!!
Great guy, strongly suggest taking him. Go to class, sit in the front row, pay attention and he will love you. He is extremely chill and easy to understand.
Takes his time explaining, sometimes does explain more than needed but whatever! Great professor.
Supercool Prof.
The man is a quadruple Husky. He got his undergraduate degree, 2 masters degrees, and his PhD all from our very own Northeastern. He is a true husky. He enjoys what he does. He loves to teach and he does so very effectively. Come to class, pay attention and take notes, study, ask for help, and you're good to go with the help of Dr. Zaarour.
Took business statistics with professor Zaarour. He's a phenomenal teacher and a great guy. You will regret not taking his class!
Amazing professor, come to class, do all the homework and it's almost a guaranteed A
Zaarour is the best ! Phenomenal professor !
One of the best professor in Northeaster. He is truly a Husky.
He is a nice guy, however his lectures are boring and he reads directly from the book. His class is mostly quantitative, however tests are largely theory. Class time and work do not translate to the tests themselves.
I think he would honestly be a better professor for purely quantitative topics, like math or stats. He is not good at teaching theory and goes directly from the book. Classes are boring, but tests are straightforward. Easy grader. He's a nice guy, but had an average experience
Zaarour is a great stats teacher! Everything you need to know for exams is taught in class, so show up, do the homework, and do the practice problems he gives you before the exams and you'll find it easy. Not a lot of homework, and never read the textbook- I just took good notes in class and was set.
Prepare for class and put in the work. A statistics class could be boring but Nizar is engaging and clearly explains the concepts.
NO FINALS! 3 Midterms and some homework
I loved Nizar!!!! definitely would recommend taking his class. He's a great teacher and makes stats so doable! Pretty easy class too, not boring and no overwhelming workload.
Nice, straight-forward, and respected. Overall a very good professor who tries to apply what he teaches to class, so that you're able to understand better. Not the easiest class, but If you attend and study expect above a B.
AMAAAAZING PROFESSOR. literally the best professor in northeastern and would most definitely take his class again.
Funny, really considerate and his tests are easy. He literally remembers everyone tho if you skip class he knows. But will definitely take him again if possible
While Professor Zaarour may be fine for undergraduates, if you are a graduate student and you have a choice, I would avoid him. He is incredibly condescending and cannot comprehend that his students are adults. I thought that I had already met the most-self important professors on the earth at Northeastern, but Professor Zaarour takes the cake.
Prof Z is an amazing professor! He makes subjects that might not be so exciting, relevant and easy to understand. Lectures are very interactive and lively which is such a plus in those long classes.
Great class! Although I was really nervous to take a stats course, Proessor Z is great and he even made stats fun! Really interactive class with good lectures and class projects.
Prof. Zaarour cares a lot about his students understanding basic stats, so he doesn't mess around. You will work hard in this class and put in extra time outside of class to practice the concepts through problems, if you don't you will not do well. Practice, practice, practice. The textbook is required but I wish he would allow us to use an older
You have to read a lot, and memorize the terms and definitions. Read the textbook before going to class to participate. Math part was easy, but the terms and definitions were a bit tricky. He does know who is absent and tardy. No final exam. Some modules at the end; maybe, just maybe, an extra credit to help you a bit.
Interactive and Informative class.
He's awesome and made Statistics a lot less boring! Does not read from the textbook and engage students to think about real-life applications. The homework given is just the right amount and students can practice more from the book if they want to. Strongly recommends him!
Best teacher I ever had!
Won't bug on the curve and grading distribution. He is caring and easy to converse with. Give reasonable explanations for everything. Recommended.
I took this course as part of the NUstart Program in the fall semester. Tests are straightforward as long as you keep up with lectures and readings from the textbook. Be careful to study hard for the last exam in the class as it's the most difficult one. Make sure to do well on exams as they are heavily weighted in your final grade.
The structure of the class was straightforward, but the instructions were sometimes unclear. It took detailed emails for our class to be sure that our assignment and projects were completed the way it was intended to. VERY fast responding to emails. Tests were straightforward, as long as you do the homework and complete the extra problems.
His lectures are so confusing... He repeats several things again and again before the most important part of that chapter. He responses to emails really fast. My suggestion to the course is rely on the textbook instead of his lectures, ask him questions if you got confused
Pretty disappointed in this class despite good reviews. Nizar is harsh and gives minimal and unhelpful feedback. He get angry at students for not understanding which made people not want to ask questions. Directions are also very unclear and not well articulated. Grades based on tests and a group project. Easy if you have taken statistics before.
Professor Zaarour was very straightforward. His tests were exactly what you went over in class so there were no surprises but the tests were still the right amount of challenging to make sure you do the homework and pay attention. Unfortunately he doesn't take effort into consideration and is very grade-focused.
His expectations and feedback were extremely vague. You may think you did super well on a project and then get back a totally different grade. The extra credit is a lot of work but helped me a lot so definitely do that. His lectures and classes were interesting however so if you do not care about your grade or spend hours working, he is great.
A wonderful course! If you follow him in classes, assignments and exams are easy. He has a good memory, so he probably knows who is not in attendance. The classes are pretty interesting, including reality cases in life.
Tests are hard and even if you study they are still confusing. Weird grading scale with little feedback. Graded on very few things. One test grade based off a video game with no rubric so you don't even know how you did.
He's a great teacher and he truly wants his students to understand the material. If you've already taken stats you don't need to take this class, but it's a good refresher if you forgot it. The Hw is pretty easy if you go to class, and the tests are pretty easy if you do the hw. No final test, just a final project.
This prof really had such a good relationship with students. He makes lengthy equations extremely easy to understand. He really wants you to understand the reasoning behind the math which is extremely helpful and his exams are very straightforward and easy as long as you go to class and do the homework. Overall amazing prof def take him if you can.
Professor Zaarour even though very accessible outside of class made my learning experience tough. For someone who struggles with math having methodology in the solved hw to figure out my errors is essential. It was very disappointing to see that this aspect was missing when trying to prepare for exams. Overall 3 cause he could easily do better
Amazing, funny professor. So easy to contact for help or info. Case study project seems daunting, but it's way easier than you think, just listen to his suggestions. Exams are not bad. You definitely have to study, but the information/concepts on the test are all on the slides and he gives you practice problems that are very similar to on the test.
Avoid taking statistics class as he heavily relies on midterms and finals to determine your grade. While he responds to texts he doesn't provide clear answers. His exams differ from lectures and homework, and there's no exam review or guide. There's no partial credit or opportunity to show working either. Homework is graded unfairly as assignments.
He is amazing! The lectures were interesting and he is absolutely hilarious. He always encouraged people to participate but never put anyone on the spot. Exams are very fair, just study the slides and exercises he gives and you'll be fine. Homeworks are graded to completion. There are two group projects, both easy to complete. 100% recommend!
Great professor. Very fair in terms of grading and very responsive.
By far, one of the BEST Professors I have ever had!! He is extremely intelligent, very helpful, funny, caring and you can tell that he loves what he does and is very good at it. I wish there were more Professors like Professor Zaarour!!! Absolutely Awesome!! Highly recommend
Best teacher at northeastern for supply chain. I was in a three hour long class with him every monday and he managed to make that miserable timeslot the most engaged I've ever been in a class in my life. I learned a lot in this class. He is always accessible outside of class and is super funny. Take him if you can!
Professor Zaarour is amazing! I took the three hour version of SCHM2301, and provided us breaks when we needed them, and always had an engaging lecture. There are three exams, a group project, a simulation and homework. He only teaches Supply Chain in the Spring, so definitely wait to take him then! Lastly, he answers emails very quickly.
Super nice, funny, flexible, easy A teacher. Always ties material to current events and you always feel smarter leaving the classroom. Exams have NO surprises: exactly from textbook and practice problems in class (some even online). He made cookies for us and responded to emails faster than my own mom. Would 100% take again.
Such a great professor. Very easy exams as long as you pay attention in class and do the HW everything will be easy. He does a lot of review in class to allow for success in the exams. Made us cookies at the end of our semester. Very good at explaining things. Biggest thing that really helped my success was the fact that he gave us breaks!!
He clearly understands stats and wants his students to as well. He does a good job of explaining the concepts behind the formulas and works hard to prepare you for the exams. He's also a really funny dude if you to talk to him.
Such a great professor!! I was nervous at the beginning of the sem because he does like to cold call a bunch, but genuinely a really nice guy and he does a great job of preparing you for the tests. No final exam, just a group project but it isn't much work. He also made us a bunch of cookies to celebrate after our last exam
This is my second time having Professor Zaarour and I have nothing but great things to say about him. He is a true husky having gone to Northeastern and received several degrees. His tests are fair if you complete the homework, and the group project is not too bad. I wish he taught more classes! A final perk is he provides cookies on the last day!
Zaarour was a great professor and always knew what he was talking about. The tests were fairly difficult but we were prepared well. No final exam.
if you genuinely want to learn then he will be the best professor you have ever had if you like to get by using chat and sitting in class doing other work on your computer - do not take his class weekly homework assignment (not that bad most of the time), 3 tests, group project, no final exam!!
Such a great professor. He cold calls on people but it's actually very helpful for learning the material. He's also very funny, and he bakes really great cookies.
Literally one of the best profs I've had. His lectures are so engaging and he doesn't teach off slides. He prepares you really well for his tests and homework. There is a textbook, but you don't need it - just show up to class. His instructions are always very clear and he responds super quick and is accessible outside of class.
Simply one of the best supply chain professors at NEU, the three-hour lecture seems grueling, but he does such a great job keeping everyone engaged. 3 Exams that are 60% of the total grade. The questions are based off the textbook and his PowerPoints. The rest of the assignments are also manageable. Great professor, highly recommend.
One of the nicest and coolest teachers I've had. Class was always chill. As long as you go to class and pay attention and do the homeworks, you'll be absolutely fine on the tests. There's no final, just a semester-long group project that is very laid back and interesting, and it has a final presentation at the end of the semester.
Doesn't remotely deserve the high ratings he gets on here. Closed note lockdown browser + webcam exams that are pretty hard because there's so much content and such little time to study. Bro doesn't even film his own lectures, he uses other professors. The lecture videos, PowerPoint's and the PowerPoint slides he uploads are always different.
Was really excited to take this class as the prof is rated so highly. Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend his class online as it's so test heavy and he doesn't actually teach the lectures (they are by someone else) therefore the tests aren't very clear as to what will be on it/what to study for.
His lectures explain the class material very well, and if you pay attention in class, you will easily be able to get an A- or A in the class.
Professor Zaarour's lectures were the highlight of my day. He is so engaging, never teaches off slides, tells interesting stories, and gives good life advice. We finished learning material weeks before other 2301 sections but the class did not feel rushed at all. There were 3 exams each worth 20%, homework worth 20%, and a group project worth 20%.
Great professor, funny guy. The class isn't too hard, barely any grades besides the test. Final project, no final exam, besides that there are a couple weekly homeworks and assignments related to the final project, and that's it. Definitely take this professor.
I thought taking this class at 4:30 would suck, but it was my favorite class this semester. He explains everything very well and makes it easy to understand. I had no problems aside from some hard times with my group for the project, but he is very understanding and always has his door open to help. He is probably my favorite professor, take him!
One of the best Professors I have taken so far, the class is a really easy class as long as you attend and listen, he makes it hard not to understand. Did not feel rushed at all and we finished the course material before thanksgiving. There was one final project (semester long) and 3 exams no final. Take this Professor!
Grade aside, I probably learned the most in the class than anything at NEU so far. He actually tries to make us critical thinkers, not just memorizers. Would like if he made it less embarrassing to be wrong in class. Most things are on paper so you barely use excel, but that helped to learn the concepts 20x better than friends with other professors
