His tests are so long & difficult to pass. He seems caring but expects a lot from you. There are 10 quizzes and 2 long exams. Expect to write a lot in the exams. He grades based on how he feels you answered the question. His lectures are long & boring. Overall, it was a bad experience & I wont take his class ever again.

Nicest dude ever and a truly enlightened soul. He gets sidetracked in his history lectures and talks a lot about love, social relationships and society, which I'm a huge fan of. His class is a lot like a philosophy class. Overall a really solid professor that will teach you about life and the world around us.

Dr. Murage is a really nice guy, but a terrible teacher. His lectures are rarely about actual history and he mostly talks about your social life. His "tests" don't test anything because he just expects you to copy word for word his answers from the study guide. Don't try to put things in your own words, you'll fail! Would not take again.

Awesome Professor. He gives you all the answers for the tests and extra time on all your work. He also puts all his powerpoints online so you dont need your text book. His lectures are exciting and raw, he rips historys band aid off. Id definitely take another class taught by him.

Very sweet, but not very good. I am a straight-A student and still only passed his class with a B because of attendance. Journal entries are all based on self-care, not History. Tests are long and questions are strangely worded. Lectures are often about the way to finding true happiness, which can be interesting, but not what I'm paying for.

Murage is a decent professor. Theres not much to say becides giving a pros and cons list. Pros is that he gives the answers to all of the tests the week before his tests. There are only 3. The cons is that he relates his history lectures to the spirit of life and can get confusing. He cares about students but should not teach HIS he should try PSY.

NEVER take a class with this professor. The most unorganized pathetic class Ive ever been to. Can barley understand anything he says, spends more time acting like he teaches anthropology than history. You will learn nothing and honestly come out knowing less than you did when you walked in. Tests very harshly and gives a ton of homework. STAY AWAY

I have learned a lot when it comes to the human mind like "why do we fear?"- He is very good at psychological and philosophical discussions about life and history but I have not learned any history while taking his history course. He has been even worse in organization, grading, and structure since going online because of the pandemic.

I barely learned anything about "American History". The lectures were mostly him ranting about his political views on race and religion. If you work on a assignment with classmates he will give you a zero. In his words "its okay to work together but you must have separate answers" When all of the answers are from the damn textbook....

Very kind professor, but extremely erratic grading, with poorly written assignments at times. The lectures are excruciating to get through. Very off-topic, and even when on-topic, it was accompanied by rambling and abysmal PowerPoints that are so bad you want to laugh. It's usually very hard to follow what he is teaching and goes on tangents often.

This is the worst professor I have ever taken. I have never hated a professor before, but this one, this one is real. He is never accessible outside of class, gives misleading information in preparation for exams, skips class often, types with errors, and the most strict grader I have ever seen. He is completely unfair and not worth taking.

One book 252 pages with papers & 4 power point presentations w/ essay questions. If you enjoy writing, the course is fairly enjoyable; history mixed with psychology and anthropology. However, by the final 2 papers I was burnt out from writing about the same thing. Would take again if other courses in semester not demanding. VERY time consuming.

This Professor was abysmal… He single handedly ruined the class. He give 11 page long homework assignments that he strictly grades then he had in class work and sent it to the testing center and just tuned them into quizzes out of nowhere and if you dont write what he specifically said you dont get any points and the class is over 1,000 points

This teacher grades really hard. I felt like I could never do right, and when I asked for feedback, it was more like Keep doing what you're doing, you will figure it out. WEIRD. Sent long "rant" feedback or responses. Very philosophical, sometimes his responses have nothing to do with what the work is, and push you to dig really deep for answers.
