Incredibly difficult, but Organic Chemistry is notoriously difficult. Dr. Mann knows his stuff, and that is perhaps the most important characteristic of a professor. On top of that he is a fun guy to learn from!

Dr. Mann is a great professor. I have had him for three trimesters now and can honestly say that he cares about each student in his class. He gives several opportunities for extra credit and is always willing to work problems for you. If you put in the work you will get a good grade.

Dr. Mann was a great Inorganic Chemistry, however, in Organic I felt as if he could not get the materials across to me.

I had him for organic 1. Based off the teachers at the school, he is definitely a great choice when it comes to chemistry. Some material he was able to hit home with me and with other material, not so much. Organic is not an easy subject, but he makes it somewhat bearable. Do what you're supposed to do, and you'll make it out with a B or higher.

Dr. Mann is a grandfatherly teacher who mixes stories and jokes into the lectures to make them less boring. The only grades are tests and labs, but he has many extra credit opportunities. He is willing to help, but only if youve shown hard work. My one complaint would be that he understands the material so well that he has trouble dumbing it down.

I took Dr. Mann for Astronomy (PHS290), and it was spectacular! He frequently called this class his "fun class," so it wasn't as difficult as his chemistry classes. (I know I said it was for CHE101, but PHS290 wasn't available for selection.) I genuinely enjoyed this class and learned more about astronomical things than I would have without it.

He is an amazing professor and I enjoy coming to his class every day.

I had Dr. Mann for an astronomy class. Tests, all called "quizzes" ranged in difficulty, and it was sometimes difficult to tell what parts of the informational packets he provides would be on the tests. He's an understanding professor, and he's willing to work with you if you miss tests or class. Overall it was a decent course.

Dr. Mann is a great teacher. I know that we were the guinea pigs with this being the first time this class was offered, I just wish that it was a bit more organized and well thought out. Also, it was hard to know what was on the test, overall, I learned things that I did not know. I also liked going outside and looking through the telescopes.

I was in astronomy and he had a fantastic handle on all the material he was talking about as well as a deep love for space and astronomy. He doesn't just hand us a textbook, he actually shares what stars are up what nights, and what is going on at places like NASA. I loved going out into the night sky and watching for stars!He's honestly fantastic!

if you need to take inorganic chemistry at william carey, please take dr mann. its essential to take mann for inorg. chemistry because even if you dont pass with flying colors he will give you the best understanding available, which is vital for most post-grad. entrance exams and continuing education at that level.

Organic Chemistry is one of the hardest subjects to learn but it was enjoyable under Dr. Mann. It was difficult to learn at first but if you work for it- you will make it. I had fun and learned a lot of cool things in lab. Dr. Mann is one of the best professors at WCU- if not the best. Im definitely going to miss Ancient History. (Bobs and Blobs).

Ive learned more from you this trimester than from Morrison. Your lectures and lab instructions are very clear. I just wish you offered more extra credit. I have really enjoyed your class.

Dr. Mann is one of the best teachers I have ever had. He teaches very well and even offers study sessions before every class. Not to mention his jokes are hilarious.

I took him for inorganic chem and hate chemistry, but he manages to make class interesting. Hes wildly entertaining and accessible outside of class, often giving tutoring sessions. The final week of class will be tough and hectic, but Dr Mann does explain what is on exams. If you hate chemistry and have to take a class, take it with him.

I loved Dr. Mann's class. Chemistry is one of my weakest subjects so his class was very difficult for me. He offers great opportunities for extra credit and he offers tutoring sessions three times a week. Overall, I would say I enjoyed his class despite its difficulty and would definitely take him again.

Dr. Mann is an excellent teacher. His deep understanding in chemistry is really helpful, and he guides you through everything you need to know. He never himself uses a calculator because he can solve everything in his head impressively faster. I would highly recommend if you want a helpful, personal, hilarious, and intelligent instructor.

Dr. Mann is a really good professor, who has had an amazing life with lots of stories. He will make you work for your grade, but paying attention, working problems in class, and asking questions will put you in good shape. Finals week in his class is brutal, so it is best to put time in beforehand.

Probably the best professor I've had at Carey, really cares for his students and loves what he does. He draws chemistry back to daily life to help connect to the "real world". This class was more difficult than the first, but he made it much easier to digest. Makes study sessions for those who don't grasp and helps outside class if needed.

Dr. Mann makes learning chemistry fun and interesting. He breaks it down easier than the book, online tutors, etc, which is incredibly helpful. He is a human calculator though so you have to work fast to keep up with him! He will work with you if you have to miss class and is easy to get ahold of. Would recommend him to anyone needing chemistry.

Dr. Mann is one of the highest quality professors that WCU has to offer. He is passionate about what he does and teaches it incredibly well. His classes require effort, which makes it a rewarding experience you will get a lot out of if you try.

Dr. Mann is an excellent teacher for chemistry. As long as you put in the attentiveness required to do well in chemistry, you will do fine. Since he offers study sessions every day that lectures are held, its not hard to keep up with material you possibly missed for whatever reason. If you want to fully grasp and understand chemistry, take him.

Dr. Mann is a very knowledgeable professor and is respected my all faculty and students, he has an extensive knowledge of his subject and can teach you anything realated to chemistry. He is very kind to all his students and interacts a lot with the class during the lectures

This is my third time taking a class with Dr. Mann and I was not disappointed. He is an excellent teacher who wants his students to succeed. His lectures are often filled with hilarious stories of his amazing life. He explains the lab experiments before we actually do them. He always writes out problems on the board.

Dr. Mann was a great teacher. I had him for 4 chemistry courses and enjoyed them greatly. The material was difficult in some cases, but Dr. Mann related it in a way that we could understand. He tells lots of cool stories from his past careers and relates them into the course. All in all great teacher and would take again!

Dr. Mann is a very interactive and fun teacher. He helps us learn and shows us how to work problems efficiently in inorganic I. He is also very funny teacher.

He will crack funny jokes in clss but has a very clear understanding of the subject he is teaching. He is there to help but you have to go to him.

Dr. Mann is awesome. He discusses exactly how he is going to grade his tests, and he makes sure you are prepared. You learn a lot in his classes, but he makes it not seem overwhelming. He is great! I would definitely take him again!

Dr. Mann was a great professor, but be prepared to do A LOT of homework. If you are already good at chemistry he is the perfect professor for you! He keeps lectures interesting with a plethora of jokes. This class was definitely the hardest I have taken at Carey so far! However, I did learn a lot from him.

Noel Mann is a forgiving chemistry professor. He provides study guides and gives great advice regarding class and lab-work. Noel has a real passion for teaching, and it was reflected in the attention of my classmates as well as myself. I will go great lengths to take his other classes.

Dr. Mann has been an instructor for over 50 years, so he knows a thing or two about chemistry. He is a great professor and breaks things down into the simplest terms. I will be taking him for Organic Chemistry II also, because he makes the hard things easy.

Chemistry has never been my strongest subject but in Dr. Mann class I actually get the material. He has a way in getting you to understand the work. Plus I always look forward to his stories. They are so funny!

He does a great job at condensing each chapter to the most important stuff needed and explaining each type of problem. He is also very good to help out in labs when you are unsure what to do. He does not post grades in Canvas, but you can go to him at any time to ask for your average and/or he provides a simple way to calculate your own average.
