great professor! highly recommend her. she's very helpful, wants you to do well in her class. don't buy the text book, she gives you the power point and thats all you need. she's not the easiest professor, but she does review. the subject matter isn't easy, but she'll give you a lot of chances to do well.
Class was a little on the difficult side, but she did provide opportunities to bring up your grade. Study from her powerpoints and lecture notes and she does review before exams. Very helpful for the lab practical. Textbook was helpful for her take-home test questions.
Easy to follow. Very prepared for lectures. Enjoyed her class but the subject matter was difficult. Study from powerpoints. Text was helpful for take home essays.
took her in the summer, was extreemly friendly and nice. she loves what she does. Gives you the opportunity to do well. I would recommend her.
Lecture is pointless all she does is read from the power points which she posts on the lions den. Tests are extremely hard and consist of way too much detail. She does give a review sheet which is somewhat helpful but tests are just so hard. She is VERY fair with giving opportunities to boost your grade. Take the opportunities they really help!
Dr. Cutter is very sweet and helpful! You can tell she loves what she does, and if you do the work you will do well in the class. She is very fair with making sure you have the opportunity to have your grades where you want them to be.
tests are on the ridiculous side. when you answer the questions asked she expects more than she asks for and takes points off. but i suppose it could be worse, at least she's reaaally hot.
All her class is powerpoints..the textbook is useless except for maybe one lab exam and her tests are hard yes there are review sheets but all of a sudden when you look at the test it is nothing like the review sheet
Asks way more than most A&P classes do. Gives "extra credit" that requires so much effort it's not worth taking the time away from studying for the test. Says things will be on the exam that aren't and then puts things on that she says wouldn't be on it.
NEVER HELPED ME. NOT RECOMMENDED.ALWAYS SAID "i DON'T KNOW WHAT TO TELL YOU" WHEN I ASKED FOR HELP.
Not the best don't take!!!
Cutter was an awesome professor. The class expectations and criteria were perfectly clear. The tests were indeed challenging but their was enough opportunities to raise your final grade. This professor will challenge you. PS: Textbook is nearly useless class is on power points available online
Difficult class, but very helpful. Gives extra credit assignments which are hard but worth the points. Curves grades at the end of semester. Funny and enthusiastic.
Does not use books. Uses power points. Exams are tough, but she curves grades. Extra credit is impossible. Very helpful and nice though
Dr. Cutter is very nice and hints at material that will on the exam. If u study u will be fine.
Dr. Cutter is honestly a great professor. The material is very difficult and the class is fast paced which serves to weed out the weak links. Study hard !!!! Do every extra credit possible and participate. You receive what you give in this class. Nothing is handed to you on a silver platter. If you study and review you will do well. Don't be lazy !
She is a good professor and is always willing to help. She does give chances for extra credit. You have to put a lot of work into this class though. Be prepared and she doesnt use the text much. Just her powerpoints.
She's extremely rude, has her favorites in class. She rolls her eyes at you when you ask questions and doesn't answer you emails when retaining to help yet constantly says she's on her phone. If you take her be prepared to beyond overwhelmed.
she is the worst professor for me this semester.
She makes me feel belittled :( . I am not comfortable asking her questions at all
Cutter is without a doubt an amazing professor. The class is going to be challenging, it's a science core. What do you expect? Studying is critical and she is quite receptive. A lot of work, which include lab exams, lab portfolios and the tests can be difficult. Keep up with your review, everything is on the power-points. You get what you give.
Definetly would take her again. She is very consistent, prepared, and clear. Expects alot from you, but not unreasonable. Possible to get an A, if you take all the extra credit which is easy, and hand in assignments on time. Makes you study the material but is worth it. Actually learn.
Very hard. Attendance is mandatory she take it all the time. A lot of assignments which can help the grade. You need the txtbk Dont need it for class tho. She doesn't check hw. Tests multiple choice are rediculously hard but when there easy very easy The lions dens grades aren't accurate your provacy a grade higher than what that says
Dr. Cutter is one of the best professors at Molloy. She is very nice and understanding and does a great job preparing you for your future science classes to follow. She does like to challenge her students, but if you put in the effort and take her class seriously and show her that you are working hard then she will notice that.
I had Dr. Cutter for 2 semesters now, Bio 126 & 127. At first I didn't like her. This semester I'm more accustomed to her. You need to get used to her rules, her style of testing and her grading policies on take homes. She grades hard on those but if you finish early, you can ask her to check it over & she will. She is nice once u get to know her
Everyone knows how difficult organic chem is and dr. cutter made the subject so much easier. She really wants everyone to get a good grade and if you dont you probably didnt do your job as a student. Take her you wont regret it.
Great Teacher. If you expect a breezy class skip over this one. I mean its a manageable class but if you are not interested in biology as part of you future career don't waste your time.
She's really passionate about what she teaches, but the work she expects from students is well above a 100 level class. Often on her take home tests you are required to come up with an experiment to test things never gone over in class. Most of the reading really requires a masters to understand. She assigns more essays and hw than she keeps up w.
She's funny and fair. Not an easy class, but you will learn a lot. Makes you think but she will offer to help any and every time.
Great professor. Hard but fair. Come to class, do your work. You will do ok
Best professor ever. Hands down. I wish I could take her for all my classes.
I have had many Bio teachers, but Dr. Cutter has been my favorite ever. She makes the subject interesting. The class is difficult but she is fair, and caring about her students.
I was horrible at chemisty until I took Dr. Cutter's class. She's a great Professor! Gives plenty of opportunity to boost your grade & gives review sheets for exams. I also had a tutor which helped me a great deal. If you need a tutor request Nicole Parazuk. She is wonderful & helped me to understand the material. There are 2 exams and a final.
I took Professor cutter for chemistry. She is very approachable and kind. She wants her students to pass!! her test Aren't easy so put work into studying the material! Also, get a tutor!! It helps more than anything, the hour and 45 minutes just isn't enough!
Dr. Cutter is a really good professor and really cares about her students, as long as you show your effort. She offers extra credit towards the end of the semester. Very approachable and responds to emails in a flash. I suggest recording the lectures as it is a lot of info. This is not a fly by kind of class, do the work!
LOVE. had for gen bio and a few classes after that. loves her students, wants them to succeed and do well. Gen bio is always a lot because there is a ton to cover in that class. lots of work but thats more grades and it works better for you. always gives extra credit opportunities. TAKE HER
Ridiculously tough grader. Expects way too much from even extra credit assignments and the tests are all essays. Takes off points for things you don't write but she also didn't ask for, also if you write the right answer but don't write "enough." Goes through chapters way too fast and only pays attention to her favorite students. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
JUST SHOW HER THAT YOU CARE AND YOULL BE FINE!!!! THATS ALL SHE WANTS AND I TELL STUDENTS THAT AND THEY STILL DONT LISTEN! GO TO HER OFFICE HOURS ALL THE TIME!!! SHE GONNA LIKE YOU IF YOU SHOW HER YOU CARE! IF YOU DONT THEN SHE WON'T EITHER
Dr. Cutter thoroughly explains the material and makes lectures interesting. She genuinely cares about her students learning and doing well. She gives an insane amount of work but if you're pursuing a career in the medical/science field taking her class will benefit you.
Awful. I warn you.. do NOT take this Professor. I did not learn a thing! A ridiculous amount of homework, including a 150 page lab manual!!!
Her unclear grading criteria and discrepancies between rubrics and results demonstrates her clear and unprofessional preference for students majoring in her department. Lowballing students based on favoritism left me very dissatisfied with what was supposed to be a course based on academics performance, not personal attitudes.
This professor made my semester miserable. Do not recommend her class. If you take her prepare to not sleep until the semester is over. She also complains a lot and talks down to her students. She is a smart woman but her way of teaching is not the best. AGAIN, I DO NOT RECOMMEND.
An entire semester of teaching myself from passages she she wrote and posted on canvas or links she provided from the National Cancer Institute. Group projects, presentations and research papers, every single week! An egregious amount of work for an undergrad class. Steer clear if you can.
Dr. Cutter is an excellent professor; however, she does talk down to her students. She has high expectations, but you will enjoy the fruits of your labor! Definitely do ClutchPrep. Lab reports are very long. Sometimes diverts from syllabus and her imported Canvas assignments contain errors which she corrects in front of the class as it is going on.
She is never there. Class is boring and its like she is phoning it in. She makes classes via zoom at the last second. Lab is a nightmare. Horrible experience.
Dr. Cutter is an amazing professor. She is always willing to help out and gives amazing guidance. She is very accessible (just send her an email!) and is wonderful in terms of keeping things simple and organized for our research team.
She's alright as a teacher but she's a complete fraud. She has barely any real world experience, there is evidence of her plagiarizing articles. Not only that but if you look through her work a lot of it is incredibly inaccurate including her research in cancer which she claims to specialize in. I have no idea why the college worships her.
A lot of work. Enjoyed learning but extremely tough grader. Criticizes every little word. I had anxiety the entire semester. ESSAYS are due weekly and you can't reply on the discussion board on the same day for full credit. TOO MUCH WORK. GLAD ITS OVER. ESSAYS should not be weekly!
I'm taking this class because it is required for graduation. There are essays that need to be done every week and discussions. For the essays, she wants a minimum of 3 pages, and for discussions, a minimum of 800 words. This is crazy while taking other nursing classes. Avoid taking this class at all cost!!!!
Dr Cutter covers a lot of material in class. Lab was fun but the lab manual was extra work. She gives extra credit. Study and you will do well
Take this class with someone else. This is made way harder than it needs to be. Get ready for anxiety.
Do NOT take this professor! Her lectures are over 100 slides per chapter. She makes you create a 180 page lab manual which takes forever to write. She gave an online exam which didn't work which had 10 chapters midway through the semester. She gave a second exam which was 80 multiple choice and 10 short answer in 100 minutes and gave during break.
Don't take this class unless you want to do well. Made it so difficult for no reason. A group project where she will take points off if you mess us on a organisms name, ridiculous. When asking for help she was very mean and just seems annoyed if you ask for help. Take someone else and save yourself the headache and stress.
With this professor she is very tough on grading. She has heavy lectures and does peardeck during them and goes over them TOO quick. You will have not even a minute to answer them and it counts as participation. She does not understand when a class is confused on a topic and will make you feel bad. Save yourself and take another professors class.
Dr Cutter is an AMAZING professor & only wants you to do well. DO NOT listen to these reviews. She will give you every detail to study when it comes to exams. She gives many extra credit opportunities and will work with you by all means. I have a disability and she worked with me all year. Tests are heavy but it's not the end of the world calm down
She is such an excellent instructor who offers numerous extra credit opportunities. Her exams consist of online multiple-choice homework and in-class brief answer questions. She also focuses on questions that could appear on the examination:) Overall, I would highly recommend her because she is a teacher with a genuine desire to help her students.
She's not a horrible professor, the effort you put in determines your grade. She's just very inconvenient. Lots of work to do. Exams and labs are stressful for no reason. But i also put in mid effort and got a mid grade so no complaints. lots of opportunities to raise grades. I would take another professor if possible
She's a chill professor but please if there is another option, consider the other option. Her lectures are so heavy and literally before class starts she edits the slides which misses with notes. She flies past her slides and doesn't give you enough time to write notes. I had many mental breakdowns from her class and just please save yourself.
I have never written a review for a professor or a class before but I feel that I had to do so. Dr. Cutter assigns way too much work for an online summer class. It is a four credit course but the amount of work given is very unnecessary. There are essays every week, quizzes, and a two part final. Do not take this class unless it is necessary.
i got a 93% but gave me an A- * ..very slow grader, due to the summer course it was easy to fall behind. the final was a group project, and assigned 5 other things on top of the final the last week of the course. maybe the course would be better in a normal semester but only take it in the summer if you really have to.
This professor treats this 1-semester gen ed course like it's a PhD course. She seems like an alright person in general but the work is overbearing sometimes if you are taking other gen eds as well. She grades the essay tests so critically, unnecessary amount of lab exams, and makes the courseload work 10 times harder than it needs to be.
It's sad seeing so many negative reviews about Dr. Cutter. She has been my favorite professor at Molloy and cares deeply for her job and students. The information you need to know for tests is made clear, and there was extra credit offered. She also makes herself available to talk about any concerns whenever you need.
Seems to be a somewhat nice person, but the class had unbelievable amounts of work. If you are interested very deeply in the subject, then I would sorta understand taking it, but other than that, stay away from this CORE class. 1,200 to 1,500 words per week of assignments and two books, 20+ articles, and some videos and podcasts must be cited.
I had her for Bio 2 lab and she was an amazing professor. All quizzes and exams were extremely easy and she allows for an extra credit assignment as well. Very sweet and easy going professor when you make an effort to do well in the class. Lab reports were bit stressful but she allowed us to come to her before submission and gives great feedback.
She is very nice. This class is awful! It was 100x more work than all of my major classes combined. Repetitive work you dont even know what to write about anymore. Get ready to read multiple articles and chapters a week. 1500+ words a week and grading seems random and knit picky. 20 min interview 8 page essay and research paper for final alone
Had her for FST gives way more work than any other fst teacher. Gives a lot of busy work and makes the class way harder than it needs to be. You will get good grades just tedious work. She is easy to reach and nice though.
Why are you still reading do not take this professor at all.
She was really nice but get ready for a lot of projects, lab reports and homework! She is a tough grader and is very specific with what she wants so beware. Take her if you are a part time students cause you will need a lot of time to get a good grade. The test are also half written and half multiple choice.
Took her for COR 3900 with Ponzer. Miss girl gives way too much work! She is not a harsh grader but her assignments are way toooo much to the point of it being so unnecessary. She needs to focus on running that marathon instead of assigning so much work.
Dr. Cutter is a really caring and kind professor, as long as you do the work and listen in class you can do good, She outlines everything she expects of you in class and for the exams, gives extra credit opportunities that really can boost your grade, is accessible outside of class, and really gets to know her students on a name basis. Great prof.
Exams were half MC online at home and half short essay questions, but she would post highlight the questions you would most likely see on the short essay in class exam. We had a major group project that you had to present with your group, and this was your final, not hard. And her MC questions weren't too hard as well. Her lab final was also great.
For Micro, take Cutter. Her course is tough but she cares and you will be prepared as long as you put the work in. Avoid Monaco.
Be prepared mentally and physically for the work load
I absolutely loved having Dr. Cutter as a professor. Her tests and grading criteria were very straightforward, which made it easy to understand what was expected. She clearly specified what she wanted for lab reports and tests. I also appreciated that she gave students opportunities to have their review sheets looked over in advance.
I'm texting this class over the summer. She makes you do too much for every discussion you have to have 400-700 words and respond to peers and herself with 300 words.
The worst professor at Molloy, you'd think she would want to make her class fun and enjoyable, but no, she just gives soooo much work. It's unbearable; I would do anything in the world before taking another class with her. Seriously, she should be evaluated or get a hobby rather than stress out her students for a class that does not even matter.
Had to take this as a nursing requirement. Do not take this course online. They do not respond to emails and are very hard graders. They provide a rubric for assignments but you lose points for only going by the rubric and not going "above and beyond". Multiple discussions, journal reflections, and papers weekly that take more time than other work
She gives a lot of work and speaks fast and unclearly during lectures. She does group projects and takes little points off of HW for no reason. Very strict grader. unorganized canvas. Weekly write ups for the labs and two massive lab reports. Little time to complete assignments. shes very nice when speaking to her just not worth it
She is super nice but expect A LOT of work. Some of her questions she asks for assignments or guidelines for lab reports are vague, she is very picky when grading. There is a homework assignment, lab quiz, lab write-up every week. Also, her tests are half at home and half in person and she gives you the questions beforehand. Expect a big workload.
Dr. Cutter is a nice person when you talk to her one-on-one. In lecture setting though, things change. She acts if if she doesn't care about her students' lives or their time and assigns an absurd amount of work with little time in between due dates. Expect a lab quiz EVERY week on top of regular assignments and 2 absurd lab reports.
If you are just used to multiple choice. This is not an option. You should look into someone else. She's a very nice person. But there is homework every week, lab assignments, lab reports, group work, all the time. My whole semester was all about this class. I'm glad that am getting an A in all my other classes or else I would re-think my major.
save yourself
Gives partial credit.
HORRIBLE PROFESSOR DON'T TAKE. INSANE WORK LOAD. MAKES A FUN SUBJECT AWFUL.
Absolutely horrible experience with her. She really acts as if her students don't have a life outside of her class. Homework every week, group work, lab write-ups, lab reports, lecture exams + lectures that feel like they amount to nothing due to the amount of times she goes off topic. I know more about her British husband and kids than the subject
She's a very nice person and easy to reach outside of class. However, I would not recommend taking this class with other classes. You will feel extremely overwhelmed and confused all the time. Between her and canvas having conflicting information. Also, it seems as if she makes things unnecessarily difficult.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!! If you HAVE to take micro take it with monaco!! You will literally not have a life in this class. Excessive hw and assignments all the time. Makes everything more difficult than it has to be as if this class isn't hard enough on its own. Grades stuff as if you're her arch nemesis. DO NOT TAKE HER!!
DO NOT TAKE. Exams are so difficult for no reason. She has a “essay” section worth over 60 points that's IN CLASS and never specifically says which you should know for the exam so you have to memorize 20+ pages of “essay questions” and half the time most of them aren't even in the exam. save yourself.
Honestly, just no. If you care about yourself and mental health, just no. Micro is very interesting, but she turns it into a humiliation ritual.
