Very good teacher. You do need to know your stuff going into his class, but his teaching style really works. Great personality and made calculus fun.
I was intimidated taking this class in the summer, but he teaches the material very well and makes it easy to understand. Tests are open note and open hand-outs which makes taking them a little less stressful. Attendance is the key to doing well in this class.
Great teaching style made MTH111 fun and interesting. If you go to class everyday and just listen and apply yourself there is no way you can not get an A or B in thisw class. Would certainly take another of his courses!
Good instuctor.Very helpful and easy going. If you show up for class and do your homework, your odds of getting a good grade will increase.
Was a great teacher! Covered a lot of material, but always had fast responses from him when I would email a question. Great at explaining the mathmatical concepts.
I thought Nolan Mitchell was a very dull and not-so-helpful teacher. I took calculus from him, and I did get an A, but he was definitely not my favorite teacher...I suppose take him if you have no other options and he's alright, but when I think back to Chemeketa, I don't remember him as a highlight at all
I do not like math at all. I have taken the course a couple of times and Nolan Mitchell is the first teacher I could actually understand the material from and do well on the quizes and tests. I like the structure of his class, too. He actually made math not so dreadful. He also lets you use notes which is very helpful.
Very easy class. A lot of online work but tutorials on homework make it easy to ace tests and quizzes. Unlimited quiz retake and 3 shots at exams. Very easy to at least get a B even if you arent good at math.
I HATE math and he made it bearable. Great teacher, SUPER easy to understand. Made class interesting with story problems and never made anyone feel stupid or slow. Attendance is key for learning, but it helps that his concepts are very clear. If you do ALL your work, you will get an A or B. Awesome teacher, I'm sad that I can't take him next term!
took mitchell for a high-brid class, the homework and assignments were all on-line, so we had little lecture courses for lessons, but what time we did have in class, was very useful, and he used real world examples wiht the classes.
Very nice guy, took his online class which was extremely easy. He gave good hints and shortcuts. Monotone voice in person though but a very nice guy.
Great online class. Unlimited chances on homework and quizzes and two chances on final - all online, no proctored exams. Used online e-book rather than the expensive text.
Excellent instructor. Allows notes on all texts except the Gateway. Very approachable and helpful. Is understanding about possibly late homework.
Oops was mth 251 not 252
Great teacher, had him for 111 and 251, allows notes on all tests except gateway which is pretty easy. Take home final this term. Very easy going, if you take good notes you will do great
I really don't like math, I'm an English kind of guy. And tho I still don't like math I haven't gotten less than a 90% in his class. I'm used to 70's or D's, so this is amazing. He explains difficult concepts in a way that makes them seem simple, or at least attainable. HW, Tests, are online and can be repeated ∞ before the due date, Final is
GREAT math teacher. He really knows the best way to teach mathematics: He lets you retake exams as many times as you need, that way you can go over everything until you truly understand it. Much better than giving you a test and just saying "too bad" if you do terrible. He does give a LOT of homework in the online course, but definitely worth it!
He is an amazing instructor. You can re-do homework and exams as many times as you want. Three question quizes every week, but you can just notes, book, internet or even a Bible if you want!:) TAKE HIS CLASS!!!
His lectures are clear and concise and easy to follow. The class can be boring if no one participates but he's real fun if you do! I never bought the book and never needed it BUT you do need to have the cardboard part that comes with new books for an access code. Fun class, fun teacher... IF people participate!
i took his math 70 class online two years ago. he let your take the final 3 times which was awesome. I'm taking his math 111 right now and it's hybrid. His lecture notes are print outs but he goes over the problem and he is very understandable. I hope I pass his class. There is tons of homework but it is math after all.
Best math teacher ive had. Knows the material very well and can explain it like the back of his hand. very laid back and great lecture notes for tests and understanding the concepts! BEST MATH CLASS EVER
I took him for math 111 online and it was super easy. You had homework,10 quizzes and 3 tests. You could do your homework and tests over as many times as you wanted before the deadline. It was easy to pass this class. If you can do classes online do it with him.
I was really dreading taking college algebra, but he made the class much easier than I thought it would have been. Plus, since he teaches hybrid you don't spend many hours in class and you really only need to show up if you don't understand the material.
I took the hybrid class. Definitely take this class if you are VERY good about staying on top of HW. I had very little motivation to do the lessons online and started falling behind. Other than that, easy class if you do the work. You are able to take notes and use them on the final. Final was 500 points with only 17 questions.
Took math online. Definitely don't need the text book because all questions are online and can be explained step-by-step. You can redo all assignments and tests over until you get the grade you want. Final is taken in class but not very tough, probably around 20 questions. I am kind of good at math and got an A.
Took his hybrid math70 class. He was great! Lectures were informative and fun, he LOVES questions and never EVER mocks you or puts you down for not knowing something. The workload is average, book use helps but is NOT needed, and you can use any notes you want on the test.
Nolan is a very nice, smart, "strictly-business" professor. He will NEVER, no matter the question, make you feel stupid. I don't know if he has a mean bone in his body. He encourages alternate ways to learn the material. He understands that most people aren't math wizards - although he is. He was almost always available to help outside of class.
This was a hybrid math class. He is a very good teacher, with a good way of explaining things. Tests are the worth the majority of the grade. One bad thing, after he goes through the slow steps of a problem you are learning, the next time he skips the slow, easy steps, which sometimes is what students need to see the most of.
Nolan is seriously your best option if you're wanting to take Math 111 online. All the homework assignments are mandatory, but you are able to go at your own pace. The book is also online which is helpful. The 3 exams I took were online/open book/without proctoring-the only test that is proctored is the final. Highly reccomend!
I did a hybrid, and when we were in class he was very helpful. It was also not to serious. I have had sine teachers and they make you sleep. Mr Mitchell was interesting and made it fun, and I know that I made quips and was kind of a clown. He didn't discourage it which was awesome and sometimes he liked to come back and we all had a good time.
This class was very challenging. In addition to the course, and text, you need to purchase a $90 subscription to pearson math lab. The site is great however! Do NOT expect to whiz through this class. Expect to spend at LEAST 2 hours per homework assignment, and 1 hour per test in study time.
I took the hybrid course. Math is not a subject I enjoy, nor is it something I'm particularly competent in. That being said, I DO NOT recommend taking a hybrid course if you struggle with math; you mostly self-teach. Nolan is very kind, very helpful, & very fair, however. If you would be fine in a hybrid math, he would be a great choice.
Great teacher. You can redo exams and homework questions until you get 100% if wanted. Extra credit at the end of term is added to your final grade. Its worth it to do it. I haven't taken math for 15 years. I struggled at first but really started focusing and ended up with an A. If you try hard and do all your work you will do good in the class.
Good class. Can redo most (almost all) assignment problems. Can retake tests (except final, of course). Final is 50% of your grade, so make sure you work on the assignmentstests until you have the subject matter down.
The teacher does not want to grade your quizzes, so he has them all in my math lab. Which you don't get credit for correct answers, "for the most part." Too much time is spent working problem to perfection for the computer, and not learning the material.
Mitchell takes a realistic approach to math. He does not expect one to memorize all formulas (like in real life when you can look things up) but rather seems to want students to understand how things work and how to apply that knowledge. He allows tests retakes so that students can show they've improved their knowledge. He's clearly passionate!
I took the hybrid course and truthfully I showed up to class like 5 times in the term. This is definitely a great teacher! You can redo homework as many times as you want to get 100% and you can redo midterms as many times as well. The final is worth 50% of your grade but you can get 70points of extra credit. If you put in the effort you will pass.
I took the hybrid class and he is very helpful. He allowed for my learning style so I did everything online except the final. It was hard work but that's mostly because math is not my gig. Everything is done on mymathlab with the e-text book so unless you like carrying around heavy books, don't buy one. Mymathlab access is $95 alone.
I did take this course online, however he allows you to re-do homework as many times needed until you're satisfied with your grade. He also allows re-do's for exams if you need to improve your grade. All work was done on my math lab, with examples for every problem. If you do the work, you will get an A. I hate math, but enjoyed his class.
Lots of homework, but easy to follow if you know what you're doing.
Nolan is a good teacher and if you're not good at math he goes to the lower levels so that everyone can understand it. The homework has no solid due date but if you're good at keeping yourself organized you'll be fine. Very kind teacher and very easy A. If you struggle with understanding he teaches in a way that should help. Super easy class!
He's lazy, and boring. He gives lectures in a plain straight tone for hours! I didn't understand him at all! I didn't even know he was asking a question because of his flat tone through out the class. I taken the hybrid class and the class lectures: I left and just did online part and passed the class. He doesn't care about attendance for the Hybri
I took a hybrid class. Mr. Nolan is an amazing teacher! His ability to break a technical subject like Algebra down into real word verbiage and examples assisted me greatly in being successful. His extra credit assignments were interesting and fun. Just an overall awesome instructor.
I took the hybrid MTH111, which made the majority of my course work online. Nolan dI'd a good job at introducing various topics/ideas to you, but expect to watch and rewatch the assigned videos in order to fully understand what you're doing. Weekly extra credit offered that then goes onto your final's grade.
Great teacher! Expectations are very clear and the tests are straightforward. I highly recommend Nolan Mitchell!
During lecture, he'd bring up the confusing parts of the book and then explain why it explained it so and then explained what it meant and then offered his method -- which helped me to actually grasp the material. He'd also explain how to apply each principal in realistic situations, and always had good visual aids and examples to do go along.
I'm really bad at math but taking this hybrid course, I was able to learn at and make sense of the material at my own pace. He has videos to help teach what's being taught in the chapter on My Math Lab. It's convenient and I received the best math grade I've ever had in his class.
Probably the best professor I have ever had. There is a lot of homework (I took the hybrid class version) but not unmanageable. He has tons of extra credit and his final was complete open note. His exams were also online and you could take them as many times as you wanted. I HIGHLY suggest him, especially for someone who struggles with math.
Nolan is such a great teacher. I took the hybrid class and he uses a lot of different aps, videos and visuals in class. The online program is free and Nolan adds really good videos. Def better than paying $100 for that rip off mathlab program. He explains problems in different ways so you understand them. And never makes you feel stupid.
Great online class. Material can be difficult but doable if you watch the videos and read the lecture notes. He let us bring as many notes as we wanted, including lecture handouts, for the final. Retakes on exams until the due date and weekly extra credit opportunities. I didn't expect to do well in this class but wound up with an A. Recommended!
Nice guy but his lectures are unorganized which makes a class like this way more difficult than it needs to be.
Took Math070 online which I thought was going to be very difficult since I'm usually a hands-on learner. But the way the class is structured makes learning (what you haven't taken in years) a lot easier and gives you youtube videos of lectures on material. Very responsive when help is needed, mid-term and final is very straight forward.
He had the course set up where you'd take a mini, ungraded pretest, so you can skip the sections you know without loosing credit. He has awesome extra credit options, adds a new one each week. The extra credit is typically TED talks you watch and discuss. He gives lots of course videos to make sure you understand the material. Awesome teacher
The class is online except the final. The homework has YouTube tutorials to help with answers, and Mr. Nolan has an ungraded practice midtern/final test to help study. The proctored final is my only gripe, as I needed a physical graphing calculator since no cell phones or online tools were usable. The extra credit was fun and helped me get an A.
Great online professor. Accessible by email and cares for his students to both understand the material and do well. For a prof to teach online one needs to be what prof Mitchell is. Greatest online teacher I have taken. & offers extra credit if do discussions.
Nolan is AMAZING! Extra credit opportunities available (great if math & exams are your weak points like mine).Lots of opportunities to do well on each assignment and is willing to work with you on any issues. Wish he taught more classes beyond college algebra! Was very nervous about taking math, but Nolan made it so I was successful. Amazing prof!
Professor Mitchell was awesome. He was always quickly available and helped explain things in a different way. Really, this guy reminded me that math isnt that bad and that good teachers matter. Hes rad.
Took a hybrid course. His online classroom is easy to navigate. His online material is very good. Good amount of extra credit. It's Mth 111 so its not going to be the fun but he doesn't go out of his way to make it harder. Would take again.
If you havent taken a math class in years, good luck - just because the material is hard. I took the hybrid class and Nolan basically sets you up to succeed ( if you try ). he gives multiple attempts on exams, extra credit, and many sources to do well. but honestly you have to teach yourself, but its okay because going to class isnt necessary.
always signs both days on my attendance sheets for volleyball, super laid back. no deductions on late homework and infinite tries on tests.
if you have the online or hybrid class you dont need a textbook at all!!!
Nolan is an extremely great professor. He explains material in a way that is understandable and he also offers tons of extra credit. He makes class somewhat enjoyable with his funny jokes and also responds to emails quickly. Would highly recommend!
Took this as a hybrid class, extremely easy IF you do not fall behind on the homework. Roughly 2-3 assignments a week usually 30-60 minutes. He gave alot of slack on the due date(it was the late day of the term-due date). You could potentially get a 100%-115% in the class. DO NOT LEAVE THE HOMEWORK UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE
Nolan Mitchell makes doing work online so very easy. Each lesson has a video for better understanding. Midterm and final can be online or paper. Lots of extra credit opportunities.
I took his hybrid MTH111 class, and it is very easy to follow along. I was nervous coming into college calculus, because I haven't taken it since high school. There's a nice amount of homework, but prof Mitchell provides videos and websites to help guide his students which basically taught me the different subjects. I would take another!
Very laid back online class. Classwork is straight forward and always has easy to follow videos. Proctored final exam that was fairly easy. The only complaint I have is some of the demonstration videos link for homework were bad and you were left figuring out the problem yourself or sending an email to him. He offers extra credit every week.
Math definetly wasn't my strongest subject. Nolan gives great examples helping me understand and was always quick to reply to emails. Fun teacher, looked forward to coming to his class!
He. Is. Awesome! He allows homework to be redone as many times as necessary, and lets you retake tests until they're due. He also offers extra credit. If math is difficult for you, TAKE HIM! He is caring, helpful, and gives you every opportunity to succeed, but you HAVE to put in the effort. As many notes as you want on the final!
I'm no mathematician but Nolan made learning to be one pleasant. If you learn by drilling examples then this is the professor for you. I took his MTH 111 hybrid course and he couldn't care less if you showed up- as long as you understood the material. First A in a math class. Also just a really nice guy.
The final is 50% of the grade, be aware of that. However, the online textbook and homework gives you extra resources to pass for sure. The final is about 30 questions and covers the whole term. Also weekly opportunity for extra credit!
MT111 is are hard class anyway but Mitchell puts a lot into his online class to help you succeed. Lots of goofy video's by others that break down what you need to know. The only really hard part is that his final is 50% of the grade, but his grading criteria is low and an he is willing to make sure you pass.
Nolan is incredibly nice & always willing to help! CalcIII(1st 1/2) was rough, but LinearAlgebra(2nd 1/2) was actually fun! Layout: HW assignments(10@20200pts), GroupWork(10@10100pts), Quizzes(10@10100pts), ExtraCredit(10@550pts), CalculusIIIFinal(300pts), LinearAlgebraFinal(300pts). I loved his laid back teaching style and caring attitude!
This was a great class if you are not to good at math. If you study and do all your Homework you should easily be able to get a C or higher. I took Mth111 through his hybrid course and it wasnt to bad. The final worth 50% of your grade so study for that. I was stressed going into the final because I didnt know what to expected but I got a B on it
Not a fan of how he structures the class. There is a short video showing how to do some math and then a few questions to answer, then repeat. No textbook use really. Often times the videos don't cover everything and I have to go on youtube and find similar videos. Very time consuming. I would rather read the textbook and watch a lecture.
I was super nervous about taking this class, but it wasn't too bad. Clear grading criteria. Retake exams as many times as you want before due date. Do final review and final review homework and you will do GREAT on the final. I got 498/500 on the final. He also gives extra credit. Passed class with 1040/1000. A+
I had been dreading this class since math does not come naturally to me, but Prof. Mitchell is adept at explaining confusing concepts and is accessible via email and in-person. I enjoyed MyMathLab and felt prepared for exams. Get ahead on the homework so that you have ample time for concepts to sink in. Take advantage of the extra credit!
He is pretty lenient but his style of teaching didn't really help me much. I basically taught myself or watched videos on youtube. The videos that he includes with the homework usually is broken or has nothing to do with helping you the problem he wants to be solved. Just irritating, but the class itself wasn't hard.
Amazing math professor! The only thing that disappoints me is that I can't take him for my other math classes. He structures his class around student success, so your grade is whatever amount of effort you put in. Everything is open note, even the final. Very understanding man, with clear expectations, and very supportive. Great math teacher!
Nolan is great. Any questions Ive had online he responds to very fast, and with open arms to help. He has no problem walking through questions with you and really cares about your success. Ill be taking all of my Math courses with him 100%
Amazing proffessor! He answers your questions so quickly, even on the weekends! He's more than dedicated to provide help and clearly cares about his students. The great thing about doing online courses is finding your own resources, and he is a perfect resource when asking questions. I will 100% be taking his class again.
I hate math.. along with that i am horrible at it. That being said.. i loved this class with Nolan Mitchell. he is wonderful!. he made it easy to learn and fun! he provided great extra credit work and let you use as many notes as needed on a test. hands down one of the best math teachers i have ever had. highly recommend!
Professor Nolan is a really great teacher and I would take this course again. In this course I had an "A", but when it came to taking my final exams. My grade went down, I am not good at taking tests at all.
Nolan was a great professor for the Math 111 Hybrid class. Participation in his lectures are not mandatory as all your homework is online and has simple videos. Only hard part was the final, it was written and you could use notes. Only reason I got a B in the class was for the final. Other than that, easy course.
He was supportive and provided a variety of math concepts with extra credit work
HE is one of the best Math Instructor i had ,will take his class again for sure
I hate math and suck at it, but held a 110 percent in this course. Gives a ton of extra credit and he responds to emails in timely fashion. Quiz can be retaken for a better score and same with homework. Professor Nolan is awesome and love how he has his course structured. He also has videos that pertain to your homework and walks through step by S.
Class was all online, minimal lectures. Mathlab allows numerous late passes, so you can put off some assignments and still get full credit. Beware of putting them off for too long. Tests were open book and Mathlab includes practice tests and additional instruction. Do the work and you will pass. Prof answers email/questions same or next day.
I took his class online and honestly it was the easiest math class I have ever taken in college. He gives extra credit every week so that helps your grade a lot. Assignments and quizzes are very easy to pass, he also lets you retake any assignment if you need to. Hands down he has made math so much easier to understand.
He really wants to see you succeed. I DONT like math, but he did his best to try and help you succeed. For every homework assignment there were videos for each topic and a forum that you could post any questions on and instantly get help. If you have a hard time with math this is the class you should take.
Math is certainly not my favorite, But he was easy to communicate with and his style of homework and tests made it easy to figure out. He gives chances for weekly extra credit and lets you work completely at your own pace as long as everything is turned in by Sunday. Had him for MTH70 and MTH111. Highly recommend!
One of the best Math instructors that I have taken.
Despite being an online course it was workable as long as you don't need your hand held throughout the process and maybe work better solo. There was a helpful instructional video on nearly every problem to help you along the way. In addition, Mr. Mitchell always responded to any request for help promptly. Offered extra credit & reasonable tests.
I had a great time in this class! I had one of his hybrid classes, but going into class wasn't really necessary because he also had great instructions for the online homework. I would however suggest going to class because he does a great job of explaining what you would be doing for homework for the next couple of days. Also he was pretty funny.
Trigonometry online. Lectures were a very well curated collection of YouTube videos that perfectly explain the material. No due date for weekly homework, you have to keep up yourself. Three chapter tests. Homework is about 10-15 hours a week. Weekly video discussion board, write your opinion, respond to a couple classmates. Videos are cool.
Mr. Mitchel was funny, personable and very helpful! He is an experienced math teacher that explains formulas in ways that are easy to understand. I struggle understanding math, but there were plenty of supportive materials to help students understand the assignments. This professor also has opportunities to earn extra credit.
Super funny and helpful when you need help. Recommend if you need to take math class
He is a very chill teacher. Classes weren't mandatory but were recommended. Every week he would post extra credit opportunities which I really liked. I also liked how we could complete the homework at our pace. The only thing you would need to turn in on time were the take home quizzes. Overall great teacher!
Amazing professor, and explained a lot of things that I'd never understood before. The textbook makes the class fun, and while the lectures were optional they were incredibly helpful... even at 9:30 in the morning. Homework wasn't at all stressful, and could be done at your own pace, whether you wanted to work ahead or happened to fall behind.
Great class overall, the 150 min lectures are very very slow but it just feels that way because of the length. He's very good at working through material, and all homework prepares you for the tests.
Very straightforward class. Extremely generous with the extra credit and the grading on the tests. The 2 and a half hour lectures could be very cumbersome. Sometimes I would catch myself losing focus because we would just one too many minutes going over a simpler problem. Regardless, great professor, great class, you won't be sorry to go with him!
Professor Mitchell is very nice and laid back. There are quite a lot of homework assignments, but there is no set due date to do them. We had no quizzes, just a few tests. And he offers a lot of extra credit, the course is just fast paced as you get one lecture to go over a topic and it immediately moves to the next. Tests are open note though!
He is a great teacher! No quizzes just a midterm and final with open notes He cares and wants you to do well!
This was an amazing class! By far the best math class I've taken. He offers a lot of extra credit. There's a midterm and final (both with open notes), and I had a decent amount of homework. He was very helpful when I had any questions, and genuinely cares. Highly recommended.
Would definitely recommend this instructor and class. Very approachable with questions and went above and beyond to explain math concepts thoroughly. Really appreciated the reviews before tests. Helpful feedback on homework
He is an approachable and professional teacher who is willing to help his students through both in-person and email interactions. He wants his students to succeed.
The best math instructor chemeketa has to offer. Very nice and offers a lot of resources and help!
He explains the topics very well and answers any questions in class. He also offers extra credit opportunities towards the midterm and final. Definitely cares for his students and wants them to pass.
Prof. Mitchell is a great teacher who genuinely cares very much about aiding in his students' understanding of the material. He allows late passes for missed work, plenty of extra material to aid in understanding (videos, written examples), and many extra credit opportunities. He is also a good lecturer; his love for mathematics is clear.
Best Math professor at Chemeketa! Biweekly quizzes were very helpful.
Professor Nolan has a deep love for math, and it shows. His enthusiasm for the subject is contagious. He offered a organizing calendar, stick to it, added days for the class to review the subject, we had papers to answer during the class that broken down the concepts slowly building a strong foundation to challenge topics. He is the best.
The professor is approachable and wants students to succeed. While the class moves quickly, the flexible homework deadlines and extra credit opportunities make it manageable. I found Unstuck ai helpful for study prep alongside the textbook.
Nolan Mitchell was the best professor I've had in my two years here! He was so helpful and genuinely cared about our success in the class. Offers extra credit and open note tests and does everything to make sure you succeed and understand material. I never thought I could have so much fun and do so well in a math class! Highly recommend!!!!
Nolan Mitchell was the best teacher I've had in my two years here! He made things very easy to understand and genuinely cared about his students. He did everything in his power to make sure we succeeded and offered extra credit and open note tests. I never thought I would do so well/have so much fun in a math class. Highly highly recommend!!!
I am not a fan of math of any kind, but Nolan made it even enjoyable. Nolan is a kind and knowledgable professor who has some of the best course material lectures of any Chemeketa class I've taken, let alone math classes. He cares deeply about all of his student's success and applies all math concepts to meaningful real-life examples.
I am bad at math, but Nolan is amazing! While this was an online class, the midterm and final are proctored (which means you take them in person at the math hub) Midterm and final were easy, 30 questions. You can have 1-2 sheet of notes for tests! Just study and you'll do great, And math assignments are on MyOpenMath (super easy).
This class restored my confidence in my math capabilities. He wrote the digital textbook used in class, and it's probably the most intuitive math text I've read. All the HW is in Open Math, so you have the opportunity to edit/ try similar questions. If you think you're bad at math, you're wrong. You just haven't had the right teacher yet.
Nolan was the best math teacher I took. He has easy extra credit and the assignments were not too hard. I was just gone on some trips so I had some difficulty doing my mid term and final . Overall a very fun and good teacher.
He's a good professor, I love the way he teaches and is pretty chill when it comes to late work. Took him for 95 &111Z .
Really great professor! He made learning pre-calc super easy and understandable. Plus he gives multiple extra credit assignments. Attending the lectures were very helpful but not mandatory. As long as you pay attention you should be good!
Super sweet and understanding and explains things in a good/easy way.
Amazing math teacher; has open notes on exams and doesn't use a boring book. He links YOUTUBE videos per chapter and section. They are so much better than stupid books. I actually learned TRIG. I got an A+ in his class after failing it a term prior to a 'crappier' professor. He responds and helps A LOT. He is great.
I have no words to describe how amazing an instructor he is. This class was on the easier end, and I only had to read the online textbook and then head straight to class, where he had worksheets with what we were covering that day. The textbook has numerous helpful diagrams. Instead of standard quizzes, there are checkpoints that you can take home
If you aren't good at math, take this class. Best math professor I have ever had! He is very good at explaining how to do each problem. Attendance is not mandatory, but I recommend attending because his lessons/worksheets are very helpful.
