Nice teacher

makes a hard class bareable. if you don't look at the text book before class you will have a hard time following the lecture though. quizzes and midterms are fair, but as i said this class is challenging. you need to be good at math to get a good grade.

i think shes the best math teacher @ langara he goes thru everything step by step which is needed in math and she makes sure everyone gets each step well. shes also nice and has a sense of humour

Just loved her class. Never ever thought math could be fun.. until I took her math course. Lots of homework and quizzes but sure helps out for the final. Would recommend her to anyone. Fair marker and good at explaining concepts.

Awesome teacher. She knows what she's doing..she gives you plenty of examples to know what's on the exam...I definitely recommend her. A note to students who haven't taken math in a while: Go to class everyday and use the cd from your text book..you only have an hour for exams so make sure you study well.

Nora teaches WELL and goes through all the steps so that you have a clear understanding of the content. She's funny, knows her stuff, and will drill the main concepts into your head. Her quizzes are easy as long as you pay attention in class and do the homework. MTs are easy if you do well on the quizzes - no surprises! My FAVOURITE math teaher!!

I looked forward to Nora's class every day cause it was so much fun. She explains things so well with a brilliant touch of wit and humour, her examples are clear and straightforward, assignments and tests are very reasonable and she lets you know exactly what to expect ahead of time. She's one of my favourite profs ever!

nora is such a great professor!! you just have to attend class every day. you don't really have to read form the text book because nora will summarize n teach based on the text book. assignments are kindda tough but you'll manage to do it. go to the math center! for midterms, you just have to study from notes nora gave, quizes and assignment.

Probably this is the first time she teaches linear algebra. The questions on the test and the way of marking are not a good evaluation for the students' proficiency. The tests will turn out a student with a lower proficiency gets higher marks than a student with higher proficiency.But she is responsible and care about her students.Very good-hearted

da 'Math Goddess' literally! She made n avg. 75% student like me into her "A+ Lady" (im quoting her own words here!) calculus n possibly all math with her is like a fairytale dat ur brain n heart will dance thru... serious! awesome teacher, really keeps math interesting. I mean how many of us truly do find math interesting? decent tests, has one or two trick questions usually but even if you don't see the trick, u won't loose too many marks.

Honestly, she is one of the best maths teachers I have ever had. She always tries to inject some humour into the class to keep people awake and interested. Unlike some other teachers, there is no hesitance to participate. People actively jump in at any time, and she likes it that way, to know that her students are interested and interacting.

Best math teacher by far. Tells you what you need to know, gives crystal clear instructions and makes math bearable with humor. She'll hint on the type of questions on exams and quizzes which makes studying a lot simpler. Might I add she's also a very delightful lady; I'll reluctantly go to class everyday (it's math...) and leave a happy camper.

she's hilarious! perhaps a little strange as well, but it just makes math so much better and more tolerable than it usually is. she tells u whats on the quiz and tries to help u by making deals (omit quizzes/midterms if u do better on the next ones)

The best prof ever! I dropped out of math 1174 once with other instructor because I was told that I wasnt ready for this course..But Nora gave me an A! Her lecture is crystal clear and enjoyable and I could easily understand things that I never understood in the previous math class. I hated math but now I like math!

Not only does her accent keep you intrigued, but she's witty and fun. Her methods of teaching is easy to understand, and she's very acceptable to questions and helping you understand the material when you ask her. Also she's got an interesting wardrobe ;D

Very easy class (1190 is basically elementary school math). You need to review for her 2 tests, but it's not hard. 1 assignment, 1 journal per week. She is slightly offensive sometimes but she doesn't mean to be and is helpful when you have questions. Recommended.

Love Nora, this class is easy..i did not take french 12 but was able to pass this class very easily. She gives one journal and one assignment every week and they're easy. Her tests are harder than the assignments but she allows you to bring a cheat sheet. She has an accent and sometimes says funny things but i love her, i would recommend her.

Nora is the best calculus professor you will ever find! She is truly passionate about what she does, and really cares for her students. Notes are crystal clear, barely had to look at textbook. Gives hints for exams, and cracks some funny jokes!! If you are not a math person, I recommend you take her class. She is simply the best!!

Definitely my favourite teacher out of the four I had this semester. Her way of teaching is effective and she keeps you interested. Her personality is so sweet & I wish I was better at math to take her more advanced classes!

If you want a stress free semester of math Nora is the teacher to take. Definately a very good instrutor. Only downside is that she tends to judge students during the first week or two, but if you show up do the homeworks you can the mark you want. Definately Recommended!!

Very sweet, humorous teacher :) Lots of quiz/exam hints in class (quizzes are almost every week). The way she taught made it feel as if this was more of a review class for people who've taken some form of calc so keep that in mind if you're a little rusty or are having problems in math. If you want an easy class though, then definitely take her.

A very nice lady, and it's clear that she's very passionate and knowledgable about her subject, but her lectures were mostly incomprehensible. Heavy textbook use will save you. Linear algebra is where engineers go to die.

Weird to say, but Nora makes learning math a pleasant experience. Her work is very clean and easy to follow. Extremely nice and adds some witty comments while she's explaining her work. Highly recommend for anyone who struggles with math.

Although math1152 is a lower level course to first year calculus, I highly recommend students to take this course before taking higher level (unless you're capable of doing math.) This is not only because of Nora's sense of humor, but everything she taught will help you do well in your math1171, 1174, or even higher level courses. She's the best!

Honestly, probably the best professor at Langara. She is extremely friendly and approachable. Her office hours are extremely helpful; use it to your advantage! Loves to give extra credit and is a generous marker. Very easy to talk to and explains things very well. Thanks for a great semester, Nora!

AMAZING INSTRUCTOR! Good marker ..... she has changed my perception of math! Quizzes every week, but at the end of the semester she drops two of your worst. Also, if you do 80% of the homework assigned, she'll bump you up to 100%. Would highly recommend nora for any math course!

took Darkoh Emmanuel at first, it was the worst chioce ever, however he is sick, and Nora took over his course, she took higher mark on midterm2 and final to replace my failing Midterm1, and i manger to get an A by justing reviewing what she exactly mentioned on the class.

Nora is a lovely teacher. I visited many of her office hours since calculus is not my strongest suit. Her lectures are very clear and understandable. She adapts to the classes needs and just wishes for everyone to succeed. She has quirky jokes here and there. The best math teacher in the department.

Nora is one of the best prof in Langara, we all love her. She taught easily. She used the material the same as the 152 in UBC, so it's great for transfer stds. She used a great online homework tool called lyryx. Nora always called us her "technology department ", and gave lots of chocolate and candies, she is so cute!

She makes math fun to learn and teaches you a lot about things you wouldn't realise you didn't understand about basic math. Be careful that you get good partners for the group project. I reviewed the online and written assignments and that made the exams a breeze. Focused on doing the math problems not memorisation of words or formulas.

Don't be afraid to speak up in class if you don't understand. She will take the time to review concepts until you do understand. Her exams are straight forward just review the assignments and notes. She does have weekly online Connect questions, and bi-weekly written assignments. She is a very fair marker, and makes the concepts easy to grasp.

Nora is freaking amazing! Shes is funny, great at teaching and fair, what else could you want! If she was teaching a higher level calculus I would even take that just for her haha. But seriously though, she loves teaching and you can tell, take it with her!

Dr. Franzova is a very understanding prof who cares about her students. Her lectures are a little dry, but she does make it entertaining with some funny jokes/humor. Her marking is relatively lenient as well, which is encouraging while trying to learn something like linear algebra.

Nora is a nice and experienced teacher. She gives many explanation and useful example in class. And the difficulty won't be very high if you follow the class carefully. The second half of the course will cost you some time to think about. Highly recommend her class.

Professor Franzova is a great math instructor. Her lectures are engaging, and she provides clear explanations. The coursework is manageable if you stay on top of it. I found Unstuck AI very helpful for study prep.

My second time taking linear algebra. She makes the test focus on the main points of what is learned in class instead of cramming a bunch of practice questions for the students to do tediously. Gives a ton of extensions for online homework and matlab. I was shocked at how well I did this time around because I did poorly in engineering lin alg.

Nora is an amazing professor for MATH1252. Nora has a deep appreciation and love towards Math and she is extremely caring and is a great instructor. While she does go by quickly during lectures, Nora is always willing to answer questions and help out whenever. Would recommend for this class!
