Quite possibly the easiest class I have taken at Carolina. She takes attendance, but tells you exactly what will be on exams. Offers extra credit on almost every exam.

Ms. Martin was a great choice. You don't have to take notes if you can handle studying the slides and the book before the exam. She also takes random attendance and practically gives you the exam if you are there for the study session.

most annoying professor i have ever had, and will ride the whole class about attendance, which is mandatory... which i don't know why considering she reads directly from the powerpoints given to her from the book. if you read actively, you will get an A, if not you'll do poorly. honestly- she is the only reason i am NOT a mktg. major.

I thougt she was a wonderful teacher. Yes she reads from the slides... but dont all teachers do that?! She kept the class very entertaining, and if you paid attention she basically gives you the questions on the exams. Make sure to study all the vocabulary that she gives to you, and you will do fine on the exams.

Dr. Martin really wasnt as bad as other people are saying. She's willing to work with students with their grades. We didn't have that many quizzes b/c everybody was complaining, and she gave one optional big quiz at the end to replace the entire quiz grade. The final is optional. I'm actually considering going into mktg as a career now!

Such an easy class. Print the slides/notes off blackboard and study them and you will ace all tests. Attendence was sort of mandatory (pop quizzes) in the first half of the semester, but then she decided to stop and you basically didn't have to go the 2nd half (was an 8am so that was nice) except for tests. She's nice, listens to students.

Don't take this U101 class. It harder then almost any other U101, and her deadlines for cutural and services projects are a lot earlier then everyone elses. She does make things seem a lot harder then they really are. Be prepared to spend a lot of time on the career project. Pick any other section then this one for U101.

She made things seem harder than they were because she wants you to do your work. If you do your work you will get an A. The career paper at the end is long and takes some work but i failed it but got 95s on everything else and came out with an A. It will be fine if you have her. Not bad once it is over. Its Common Sense.

I loved this class. Just pay attention and study definitions and you pretty much got yourself an A. I think she kept class interesting with her crazy stories and I really enjoyed it.

Great Professor! She tried to ensure to success of her students and she told funny stories that helped us remember the sometimes confusing terms. She did not make attendance mandatory, but going to class proved to be helpful.

Tests come straight from power points, basically just know the vocab. Easy class.

She cares a little too much on how the class does grade wise and kind of whines when people don't come to class or do well on tests. She takes attendance almost every day. Expect to get an email from her at least once a day. Class does get canceled occasionally and the final is optional. Easy A,just study vocab from power points and you'll be fine

She is definately a great professor. She gives great examples for everything that helps you keep all the terms straight. If you go to every class, you will make an A. Her tests come from lecture and if you pay attention you will do great.

The class is easy enough if you have a brain. She reads off of slides which she gets from the book publisher or another professor (not sure). Attendance is mandatory and you participate in a study. Made a B studying for 45 mins for each test. But lectures are BRUTAL and hard to stay awake through in a large class.

Read the slides and the book and you will get a an A. You have to do two labs, but she gives a 20 pts extra credit quiz the end. Optional final... I got a 97 so you should be able to make an A.

This class was super easy. She gives examples that are easy to remember(everyday stuff). She is very helpful. Test questions come from notes which come from the book.

Kinda boring, just reads slides. She does have a sense of humor and really wants students to learn. She does need to be on What Not to Wear.

Class is not as bad as most people think. Go to class read the slides glance at the book and you will do very well. I messed around and didnt do that and made a C. She is clear in class, and she is very helpful.

Dr. Martin is a wonderful teacher. Lectures are very informative and she's rather helpful and understanding. The tests are online and, if you go to class and study, you'll do great!! (hey, basic instructions to pass any class!) She's also very humorous! And because of her, I'm goin to Dano's Pizza!!

Dr. Martin was a great teacher. I took her for Marketing 350 after reading a not-so-good review and was very pleasantly surprised. She gave great lectures, very helpful, and knowledgeable. Tests are mainly from lectures and powerpoints, very little text book info. Tests are all online, if you study you will do well on the tests.

I had her for an 8 am class and neither of us wanted to be there, but she was bright and cheery pretty much all semester. She gives good examples - pay attention to them. She also puts marketing in a way that you cuold understand her. The tests were hard, but they were all online so they were open book! Overall, I'd probably take her again!

Great class. I had a bad start on her first two test, but because of her optional final I was able to make a B in the class. If you study the notes and book you will do great in this class. Test were online and hard. Don't expect to just look in the book the day of the test and pass. You have to study.

I would take her again in a heartbeat. 8am isn't the best time to take a class and she is right there with us on that. Notes are clear and helpful as are her examples. Exams are more about the concept than specifics so be sure to study and you'll do fine.

Not a fun morning class. Avoid if possible. Sometimes she's interesting and funny but for the most part she just yells to 300 students and says that every powerpoint slide is the most important one. Attendance via sign in sheet. Go to class and pay attention to the real life examples. Online tests. Take some notes & read a little & you'll get an A.

Very good class. Offers online assisted teaching style. You can choose to go to class or watch lectures online. Daily homeworks and quizzes that are targeted to help you learn what is on the tests. 4 tests, no final exam. Confusing at first but if just stick with it she knows exactly what she is doing to make it work for everyone.

This class is a lot of online assignments, you don't have to come to class, and your exams are online as well. The professor is nice and gives useful examples for the material. It's a good class to take if you want some flexibility.

I loved the format of this class. The option to do it all online was wonderful and I utilized it to the fullest extent. There is homework due for each class and 5 or so quizes per section, but the format is always the same so find a routine and you'll do fine. I wish I had more classes with this option!

Class done primarily online. As long as you keep up with your syllabus and put forth a solid effort you will get the grade you want.

Best class I've taken at USC. You have the option of going to class, watching and participating in the lectures online, or watching the lectures after they are recorded whenever you want. You need to keep up with the work throughout the class so you can't slack, but the flexibility is awesome. All work is directly from the book.

Incredibly easy class. Never went once and I made an A. Basically an online class. You never have to go, but you can if you want to. The only part that was hard was remembering to do the daily homework assignments. Definitely recommended.

Fairly easy class. The material is really boring and Martin goes off on tangents a lot. She likes to hear herself talk (you'll hear a lot of personal stories). Class can be online if you want it to (via podcasts). Just keep up with everything online and study. No big deal.

Amazing professor! This is how a prof should teach. If you try hard and show motivation she will happily help you. Tests are just like the homework. Just read and don't ask stupid questions which she has repeated a billion times. If you ask for help she will try her best. You can exempt the final! Definite recommendation for easy learning.

Im currently taking the class and i think it is pretty good. Its not hard or tricky just study. I haven't made anything less than 80 on a test. In the class there are 4 test and all multiple choice. There is also some online open book quizzes which aren't that bad. Over great professor to me and she gives good feedback. I'd take again if i could

Professor Martin is an entertaining lecturer, but because of the class size and lecture style it is not necessarily the most engaging. You will pass and, most likely, make an A on the tests if you take the online quizzes and make quizletsnotecards for the vocabulary. This is an entry level class so there is a great deal of focus on definitions.

Professor Martin is a good professor. she gives you all the material needed to pass the class, it's just a matter of going. 4 tests and an optional final. One paper that she grades very easily. Only thing I didn't like was the marketing game. I would recommend her class

Professor Martin was very nice. Gave a lot of extra credit throughout the semester, very fair. Four tests and an optional final to help boost your grade. I didn't do well on the tests unless if i read through the book. Attendance is optional but if you go it makes the tests easier, she tells you what to expect on the tests.

At first Dr. Martin seems really scary but she is actually very nice and will go out of her way to help you. First class she talks about how she does not let ANYONE make up a test but that is not true if you have a legit excuse. I didn't go to the class and still made a B+. All you have to do is know the key terms on her slides for the tests!

I'm not sure why she has so many bad reviews. Her lectures and tests are very straight forward and she gives you all the material you could need. She is a very nice and funny lady and I enjoyed this class. She does random attendance checks but thats it. Class rarely lasts the whole time

The last month we've played a marketing game in groups and it's fun and easy for a good grade if you participate. I didn't care for her at first, but eventually loved her. You'll have to do research credits but they're easy. Just sign up on time and go

Go to class and you will pass, its that easy. Do all of the chapter quizzes on blackboard. The answers can be found on google, and help bump letter grades at the end of the semester. The marketing game is the worst part and I still don't understand what I did for the last month of class....

Rent the book. Test are easy if you do the chapter quizzes before hand. 'Half-Time' section is optional (it's usually the last 15-20 minutes of class). Deducts pts. if you're not on 10 out of 16 attendance rolls. 4 tests, 1 essay, optional final, and the marketing game (costs $25 per person and is completely pointless). Still is a really easy A.

Nora really cares about her students and their success. I think this class is really applicable to a lot of real life scenarios. She's really good at using real-world examples and lectures no longer than she has to while still getting all of her points across. Her tests are kind of hard, but go to class and you should be fine.

Not hard if you go to class. Even if you don't attend, do the practice tests on Blackboard and you'll easily pass each test. Tests are most of the grade, and the final can replace a test if you need it.

The powerpoints have notes on the bottom with information that will be on the test and has key terms at the end of each powerpoint. If you go to class, you will find that the same examples she uses will show up again on the test.

In order to pass this class all you need to do is go to lectures, take notes and study vocabulary. If you take decent notes and memorize vocab, you'll do well on the tests. Makes the class as easy as it possibly can be. Didn't put in a lot of effort studying and got a solid B. Really sweet lady who takes the time to explain everything and anything because she really cares. You got 3 absences at the beginning of the year but by the end she completely stopped taking attendance. Optional final to replace your lowest test

Take this class! Just go to class and take the online practice exams for the tests and you can pull out an A. Seriously, her lectures are amusing and she gives great examples in class to help you better grasp the concepts.

Exams are nearly impossible to pass without doing the reading or attending class. However, if you make the effort you should do fine. She actually cares about the success of her students. Plus, it doesn't hurt that she offers an optional final that replaces your lowest exam score (four exams).

She is really funny and always gives you opportunities to ask questions if you do not understand the material. A lot of what you need to know, she says in class, and what she doesn't is posted in the notes of her PowerPoints

Chapter quizzes on blackboard are annoying but she dropped the lowest 2. All you have to do for tests is study the keywords and you'll be fine. Class is boring but I'd recommend her if you need this class to graduate. Research paper is easy grade booster and the research studies are too.

Dr. Martin really cares about her students and wants each of us to succeed. 4 exams (all i studied about an hour for and got A's on all of them) and the final can replace an exam. theres also a paper but I'm pretty sure everyone gets an A on that. She's very genuine and truly wants you to succeed. I would definitely take again

Very reading intensive. Some people can get through it with just the powerpoint slides but it doesn't have all the vocab that is in the textbook and she even tells you to read the text. Take notes on the text and you should do great. Get into the research studies early. No extra credit at the end because it is accumulated into tests given.

As long as you attend class and supplement studying for the exam with the textbook, you will be fine. She teaches the content very clearly, and she makes it easy to understand. The online quizzes come straight from the textbook though, so keep that in mind. You will really learn a lot from her if you let yourself.

Professor Martin is honestly a great teacher in many ways. she gives great lectures that are most of the time entertaining and informational. Material is easy to study for based on how she sets up her test, tests basic knowledge. If you do all the small work and study for the tests you will earn an A.

Martin is a great professor, if you take good notes and go to class, you'll get at least a B. The practice tests on blackboard are great for reviewing and learning. I would take the practice tests 5 -10 times right before the exam and I would get high B+ on the actual exams. Martin is really nice and cares about the material.

Dr. Martin is a really nice and funny professor! She really wants you to attend class but it's not mandatory. However, during class she goes over examples that are pretty much exactly like the exam questions. I definitely would recommend her. The tests are most of your grade, but there are some other things that you can do to raise your grade.

If you didn't get a high B or an A in this class I really don't know how you have gotten this far in college. Professor Martin is great, funny and cares about her students. The class is very easy and although the material is dry, it definitely could be much much worse. I would highly recommend taking her.

I don't know why she is getting bad reviews on here. Don't trust these bad reviews. Probably bad students who wouldnt get a good grade in any other class. She was a great professor. The lectures weren't to bad. She takes attendance but its only 2% of your final grade so you can still make an A even if you miss more than three. Definitely study for the exams but they aren't bad and the final is optional. She gives extra credit on the exams. I would defiantly take her again.

She is an amazing teacher. This woman does not like liars, but if you tell her the truth then she will work with you. The book is where all the test questions come from so READ READ READ! She is great to work with and all of these bad reviews are not true at all.

There is a lot of out of class activities that individually are not worth much, but they will quickly add up to keep you from getting a good grade. Tests are worth 88% of the total grade while a lot of small annoying time consuming assignments that don't pertain to the course material are only worth maybe 2% Tests are fair, Final is optional

Overall, Dr. Martin is a good professor who makes the material easy to understand and lectures in a way that isn't totally boring. The tests are a guaranteed B at worst if you show up on the review day before the test and study the material she goes over. If I had to take another MKTG class I'd take her again.

MKTG 350 wasn't too bad with her. Attendance wasn't mandatory when I took her last (fall) semester and there was one really short paper and 3 tests. Final was optional and online for my class. Only thing that sucks is getting the Marketing Study credits for the business school. Pretty easy class if you put a little effort into studying for tests

Started off the semester saying you must be at 17 of 20 attendance checks. Took attendance one time and now she has given up. Gave one test in class, then decided to put the rest online. Great lecturer, clear on what is on the exams. Not an easy A, but easy to work for an A.
