i'm surprised she has a bad score. when i took her she made class very easy, was very nicee and the class was fun to be in. she must've changed the way she teaches.

Probably one of the easiest classes I've ever had to take. She doesn't really care much for attendance and there were no tests whatsoever. Just one big group project at the end of the quarter.

For a 100 class I really learned alot. She draws the students in and makes them part of the learning process. Her assignments relate to real life and she uses the book to supplement her lectures.

This teacher rocks! We had open discussions about relationships, & how men & women view the importance of sex! The final was simple & didn't take a crap load of time. She does give a lil work but nothing that won't take an hour to do.

My girl Norene is the best teacher at C.O.D!She is very understanding and interesting. If you do not take social science with her..you are just crazy! Trust me..easy A! There isn't any tests or quizzes.All you have to do is the the homework and come to class and participate. Your Golden!

The absolute best teacher I've ever had! Very open on taboo topics and makes subjects comfortable for open discussion. A little work, but it's mostly reading and simple questions. Definately a fun class...Highly recommended!

This is by far the easiest teacher I have ever taken. In fact, her class was probably the easiest class I have ever taken in college and possibly high school. No tests, little homework that she just looks at and gives you the full credit, and one big group project which is very fun and easy. If you need to take Sociology, take her.

I have had Ms Herington for a couple classes - I read all the comments about her class being easy but I also know that about 1/4 of the class fails. If you go to class and participate and hand in your homework you will get a good grade. Most important I think she is an exeptional teacher that really knows how to get students involved.

This lady was one of the best I have had in a long time. She made the class interesting and listened to what you said regardless of weather she agreed or not. She is loud and fun...she makes it easy to talk in class(even for the quiet people like me). Her class is an easy "A" as long as you show up, talk, and do the assignments. I HIGHLY reccomend.

I don't know who the other person is talking about but it is not Ms Herrington. She is one of the best teachers I have ever had! She really knows her stuff and provides the kind of environment that makes it easy and exciting to learn the information. Fun, interesting and easy

This class is fantastic. She relates topics from the book to actual events and breaks it down and you actually get what she talks about. As well as the class discussion are the best because you get more views from other people. Great Class, easy topics as long as u do the work or not, and always attend.

She was a very cool and easy teacher. She made the class fun. The discussions were awsome. Just show up and do the readings and you will do fine. I recommand her to anyone who plans on taking this class.

This class really got me thinking about things I had not thought of before. There is a lot of reading (part of your grade) to prepare for the discussions BUT I learned so much from hearing what my classmates thought about the topics. If you keep up on the reading and assignments you will do well. I will take her again!!

Norene is awsome! Homework consists of witing a paragraph on the assigned chapter, and can be done without the book if internet is used. I didn't have the book all semester and got an A! Attendance is a big part of your grade tho, so don't ditch. If you show up, and do the paragraph assigned and the end of the class project, your going to get an A

She is an awesome professor. Her class was fun yet interesting and her curriculum is excellent. People say it's an easy class and well if you participate and you do the weekly hw then you are fine. Class is very straightforward, if you enjoy deep discussions about sociology then this is the class to take.

This was a fun class and I loved the curriculum structure. No tests but lots of hw (VERY EASY). Make sure to keep track of all your assignments on Blackboard! Kids forgot to do their assignments bc she was so laid back but ended up getting only 50% credit for their work. NO REASON to not get an A in this class! Come to class! 20% of your grade!

Herrington was not like any teacher out there. She's REALLY out there, but keeps class interesting. I definatly learned a few things and helped me to look a society differently!

Ms. H is the best teacher for socio! come to class each day and get 10 points each day. easy homework(basically your opinion on what you read) discussion questions that are easy as well so do the homework and come to class and you will do great. Profound class that will open up anyone to looking at human interaction with more acceptance. I used web sources for the very comprehensible assignments, no book. Show up, you get 10 pts per class and double on some days. Extra credit options. Great class structure, wonderful teacher with a libra's eye for fashion ;) you won't regret this class.

Norene is awesome! She's really nice, won't make you come to class,and even has really easy assignments. Plus, all you really do in class is discuss different events or issues in society. She's also a great person to challenge your original beliefs, and may get in a heated debate with you. Be open minded, do the work, you'll for sure get an A.

The best professor for sociology. She makes the class very interesting. No tests or quizzes. The only way to fail the class is by not doing homework/discussion questions. The end of the semester their Will be group presentations, on something you want to talk about. It is also very interesting. I am glad I took her. :)

Not your typical instructor. She is VERY passionate about racial issues. Grades are mostly discussion- and attendance-based with one group project, but I loved coming to class so this wasn't a problem for me. Everyone's opinion is welcome, but discussions can get heated. Don't buy the book, you won't use it!

Very easy class. Assignments are due once a week and they cover a certain social issue. No assigned textbook as you can use any sources online. Usually assignments involved finding readings or watching a film then writing an analysis.

The best class I have taken. No textbook, all discussion. No tests. There is homework (easy), but if you don't do it you will not pass. Anything goes in this class per discussions, but if you get offended easily do not take. You will learn as it changes the way you view thingspeople. I wish all instructors were like Ms. Herrington. Ms. Herrington made the whole experience of being in class both educating and a relaxed atmosphere in the sense that for some the subject matter can be a difficult subject to approach especially in mixed company. She is informative and well educated which shows in her syllabus and manner of teaching.

Wonderful professor! She offers a fun and engaging environment and welcomes the opinions of everyone. Not too hard of a class just show up, participate, and do the homework! That's it!! Trust me this is a class you will enjoy! No test or quizzes and even offers significant extra credit points!

Discussion-based class. As long as you get involved and voice your opinion, you should do alright. There were a couple of assignments, but as long as you were in class andor read the material they're really easy. She's willing to work with students. Check blackboard because she isn't always clear about what is due when. We had a lot of laughs.

She is an INCREDIBLE teacherperson. This was one of my FAVORITE classes. She's really funny and nice and very open-minded. She thinks outside the box, which is always nice. There are no tests, just homework which is easy and mostly opinion-based. She like to open people's mind to other ways of thinking. Her class was a truly beautiful experience.

Listen - I had Herrington for Sociology 2 years ago, and I literally am writing this review because if you haven't yet taken her class, you HAVE to. She is by far one of the best professors I've had to date; so knowledgeable and funny. Easy A if you do 2 minute online assignment. Wish I was still at COD to be taught by her again. She's a blast.

OMG, she was great. I learned many views of the world and how to view it. I took it for 8 weeks and it was great. Easy A if you do the online work. There are no tests, so be relieved. No papers except for one easy assignment. TAKE HER! Textbook only used to write short opinions. Didn't really read it.

I just finished the 8 week class last week and loved it. She opens your eyes to so many real issues and makes you really "think." No tests which is awesome but be ready to do some short daily work assignments! Awesome teacher who views her points and will challenge yours just in order to make you think! Herrington is one of the best professors I've had by far. She opens your eyes to issues that really matter in the world. She's a life changer. There aren't any tests, easy homework assignments, and one big group project but it's not too bad. Taking her class is absolutely essential.

This was my favorite class to date. She is an instructor who is real with the students and relates the lesson to today. The class was always fun and I looked forward to going every week. Professor Herrington has by far been one of my favorites at COD. She is very laxed, and is great for the subject she teachers. I took Sexual Relationship/Family/Marriage with her to complete my associates degree. I HIGHLY recommend that you take that class, it's super fun. She does not have a textbook you have to purchase also! (bonus!) take her!!!

I had Professor Herrington for Social Problems online. I wish I could have had her in person, because I enjoyed having her online so I know I would have really enjoyed her in class. You can tell she's very passionate about what she does and cares about broadening your horizons and having you consider different perspectives.

Miss. Herrington is probably one of the most respected proffessors at this institution. If you come to class ready to talk and debate, the class will be a breeze. She is very engaging and definitely knows how to spark the interest of just about every student in class. On top of that she is also attractive which makes it even more easy to focus up.

Prof. Herrington is nice. She keeps it real, no sugar coating. She's and easy grader, but feel as if she assigns too many assignments on black board. Attendance is mandatory, so if you skip too many classes you're grade will be affected. The final is a huge group project that you work on the whole semester, graded individually.

One of my favorite professors in COD. There are no quizzes or tests. This class only focuses on submitting each week one discussion board post (which are very easy) and a group final project (also very easy & fun) Majority of the time theres in class discussions and that's pretty much it. YOU WILL LOVE HER AND THIS CLASS! LEARNED SO MUCH!!!

Super easy and funny professor! I took her class because she was so highly recommended. Homework assignments every week but they literally only take maybe 30 minutes to do and you have a week to turn them in. Hardest part, which wasn't even hard really, was the group project at the end of the semester but she gives you legit months to work on it

This was the first time as a student I felt involved in the course! Even when she lectures she is asking for our feedback and made me feel part of the learning process. Lots of work that helped expand on her lectures and discussions. She is passionate about sociology!

The hw is 50% of your grade and as long as you make it out to be faily detailed you will get A's on them. Also attendence is 25% of your grade so you shouldnt fail no matter what. The last 25% is on a final presention which is very easy to get an A on if you know what your taking about and say it with confidence.

This semester I had some personal issues that had an impact on my work in my classes. She was kind and understanding and helped me work out a plan so I could successfully complete her class. She is a genuine, caring, Professor who cares about the success of her students.

If you like discussion heavy classes, this is for you! I dropped because I flourish in note taking/exam heavy classes. She doesn't do exams/quizzes just one big project. You will have lots of homework involving hour long documentaries along with a short essay on it. Great & interesting professor! Its an "easy A " if you put in the time & effort!

Norene was one of the greatest women I've ever met. I had her for Sociology and she didn't just teach me about that. She taught us things about life, about making assumptions, about stereotypes, about education, that no one had ever had the transparency to explain to me before. Professor Herrington probably teachers one of the easiest and most enjoyable classes I've ever taken. Her lectures and kind of all over the place and she's pretty scatter brained, but she keeps class fun. There's very little homework. My only issue is that it's a group based class and as someone who hates group work/discussions that annoyed me.

Professor Herrington is the funniest and coolest professor I have ever had. Her lectures are informative and entertaining, and she really tries to make the material come alive for her students. There are weekly assignments to complete, but they are all extremely manageable. 10/10 would recommend her and the classes she teaches!!

This Professor was super chill and laid back when it came to a lot of things but she does a lot of movies for homework. Just make sure to stay on top of it because some assignments are worth more than others. To be honest not really sure what I earned in this class but it was entertaining.

Mrs. Herrington was the best professor I ever had. She was genuine and I actually looked forward to her class. I've taken her twice and I would take her again if she wasn't retiring. We had to do 3-4 assignments every week, including usually one film analysis. I don't think it was that bad though because we never had exams or quizzes.

Was away from college for years and nervous to return and this was the first class i took. But Ms Herrington made it exciting to learn again. shame that she is retiring, its hard to find good teachers that actually are passionate about their job.

Professor Herrington was a fiery and fun sociology professor. She has a lot of great stories to connect to what you are talking about in class and her lectures were usually pretty entertaining. At times she would say things that kind of made me mad, but her class was still entertaining.

do you like funny? do you like entertaining? do you like a teach that won't tell u your wrong? BANG! thats what u will get from this class. Only reason you could fail this class is if u decide to neglect it. No book no tests no quizzes no final. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!!!!!

Professor Herrington makes this class really engaging with her fun stories and teaching style. The workload is manageable, and Unstuck AI was a helpful tool for test prep. Would definitely take her class again.
