I had Sparks for Intro to Humanities. The material was a little dry, but he always gave good lectures and class usually ended early. I passed the course with an easy A- you have to really try hard to fail his course.

exellent professor, very fair. you really have to try hard to fail his class or be a little slow. class particpation is important, if you are one that doesn't like to participate, this isn't the class for you. I wish he taught all my classes!

This prof. makes boring subjects interesting just by the way he relates the subject to you. His tests are easy. Almost every class had some passionate exchange of views among students. He is totally unbiased. Definately a good prof.

Fantastic teacher if a bit biased, but that just comes from his background. You really have to try hard to fail his intro class, but later on his Renaissance and Baroque classes are a lot more difficult. Be careful! Highly Recommended!!

Take him.Can talk a buzzard off a meatwagon! He holds a theology degree, so DON'T argue with him about God if you aren't knowledgable in the subject. He'll crush you, you'll cry. It is more work to fail his class than to get an "A". Clever guy.

He is a very smart man. Lectures every class but most are interesting. He has quizzes almost every class but if you do the reading it is very, very easy.Final grade consists of quizzes(5 Quest. quizzes), mid-term, 1 group project, and the final. Final is not cumulative. Very easy course!!

This teacher gives you all the notes you need to pass his mid term and his final. THe best part is that nothing on the midterm is on the final so you don't have to worry about remembering the entire semester. Plus he gives these really easy quizzes on the readings that are mostly True/False.

He is a really good teacher. He can keep you interested. He will get you very excited about Humanities. Gives excellent lectures. Class is really easy if you read what he assigns.

One of the BEST teachers I have ever had! You're able to get involved in class. Always asked the class for their opinion. Midterm and final were a breeze if you studied (I'm talking like 30 mins at the most). EASY EASY EASY! Great person all around! BUT you must go to class, it's required.

bases most of his grade in this calss on the four papers, and he doesn't grade to hard. the midterm and final were easy and straight from the notes. he def. takes attendance, so show up. other than that pay attention bc during lectures he goes fast! greek word for college = write fast!

Mr Sparks is one of the best teachers on campus, he wants you to enjoy humanities as much as he does. Always fair, fast and fun. I have taken him for 2 hum classes and will take my next one with him...take him you will not regret it.

Sparks was a great guy, always wanted you to think and discuss, he played devils advocate a lot, always wanting you to defend your position. He goes a little fast with his power points and he talks fast, just write short hand. Mini quiz everyday on the reading replace tests, there's still a mit-term & Final.....Excellent Teacher!

A great teacher. Doesn't really give homework, but you kind of have to read something everynight, there is always a quiz the next day. He talks kind of fast, so you have to do alot of short note taking. He makes the time go by really fast. Besides that he's a great teacher!

Very knowledgeable person that is open-minded and teaches very imformative info on history, religiuos views,everyday life, etc. The class starts out boring at first but over time he will allow students to reflect on how they feel about whatever particular agenda the class is learning. overal,If you show up, take notes,you will earn a good grade.

Although I wasn't in any of Sparks' separate humanities classes (IDH), he was an excellent teacher. I enjoyed going to Sparks' betas because they were always interesting. He always finds a way to make what we're talking about exciting. I would've loved to take one of his humanities classes. I would've learned a lot.

Prof Sparks took over Dr.Adam's class. He talks sooo fast and so much my hand feels like it will fall off. I like his class we are learning about religion and it's enjoyable. His tests are EASY, but read the assigned chapters. He's a good looking short guy who says "Everybody with me?" all the time. <3

I want to say SPARKS IS AWESOME. He is so funny just great. He talks kinda fast but if you ask him to slow down he will. His papers are tough though. But if you get help from the writing center you will most likely get a good grade. Overall great human being not to mention great professor.

This was my last Humanities class to take; I wish I had found him first!!! By far the best professor on Valencia Campus! He has 5 question quizzes after every reading, and a few major tests. Lectures are clear and very interesting! Wish Sparks taught every class, I would sign up!

Amazingly awesome teacher! My favorite teacher this semester! He talks unbelievably fast but if you ask him to slow down he will. His midterm and final is super easy and as long as you read the material (which is only a couple of pages every class) you'll do well on the quizzes. He's really funny and very lighthearted. Sparks was a GREAT professor, my favorite so far! I learned a lot of information while he kept it somewhat interesting. He gives daily quizzes on the reading homework in the textbook which is maybe 5 pages long and he does a review for the mid-term & final! Take good notes from the powerpoint lectures and you'll be fine! I HIGHLY recommend him!!

NOY SPARKS IS THE BOMB! every sec of his class was fun. quiz at the begining of class (its like HW) you just read 2-3 pages and he gives u a quiz very easy (25% of your grade) i group project (15% of your grade "everyone got an A") Mtearm and Final (25%)where he hands out the questions for the test which is his review. SPARKS IS THE BEST PROFESSOR EVER! He is very real and makes class very interesting. The only thing i suggest is learning how to summarize notes cause he does tend to speak kind of fast. Other than that he is a great professor.

Professor Sparks is one of the best professors I have had. Tests and quizzes are easy as long as you read (which is at most 10 pgs for hw) and take notes. He does tend to talk very fast and therefore you have to write fast. His lectures are very interesting and has a great sense of humor.

Brilliant but Approachable. I honestly can say that as a non- traditional student he is the absolute BEST I have had thus far in my collegiate career. He is an instructor, but equally acknowledges that part of being an effective teacher is acknowledging that you can ALWAYS learn something new. Genuine and VERY effective. A+++

Professor Sparks is very well versed in the subject of humanities. He is very informative and his quizzes are super easy ! I got an A and the only time i out extra work in to the class was for reading the passages for class and my powerpoint which took about an hour !

I love humanities and the professor seems very nice but I didn't realize that this professor gave so much work?! It is like English class...we have to write three essays and we have a lot of reading to do, from chapters every week in the textbook, plus a book he makes us read for an essay. This is too much for a summer class. Feeling overwhelmed:*(

This class seemed a little overwhelming at first but I am glad I stuck it out! Mr. Sparks is awesome! I learned a lot from him, not only about Humanities but also that there is meaning to life. Prof. Sparks is the best!! this is my 2nd hum with him out of 3 and he is the best there is. Textbooks is mand. he gives some 5pt quizes from the reading and he has 3 essays, he counts the twice saving himself n the students time and work. Really easy professor! Just read the textbook. Some questions on the reading quiz can be tricky. No papers and one project. Two super easy tests. He talked about interesting topics and had good discussions with the class.

I absolutely loved this class, if you're thinking about taking a mini session course, take this professor! We had two essays, only 750 word minimum, and they weren't easy peasy but not extremely difficult. The midterm was easy just had to study a bit, but I received a 100. He is super informative, his lectures can get boring, but great teacher!

I usually don't do ratings but he's the best ever. I took him for intro and I'm currently in his late roman he's really awesome. He keeps the lectures interesting with his stories and jokes. Put it this way, I usually space out during history but this class helped me appreciate it and sparked an interest in it. Deff take him

Class is just lectures. Only two easy test based on lectures (mid-term,final). Homework quizzes based on short textbook readings given on days of class. There only 5 questions and you have 10 minutes. If you read, it's easy. Only one research paper. Easy A!

I enjoyed Professor Sparks HUM 2223 course at West Campus. 2 essay papers and the midterm was an essay that he told us ahead of time what to research on to prepare the info and have it on a index card to use for reference. Final was super easy! It was one page and we went over the exact details on what to study and memorize for the final.

are people crazy? this is the most easiest class but im sure that most people comment horrible review because they really wanted to either major in humanties or wanted a whole load of homework. this professor actually makes humanities fun to learn. i took him for 2 of my humanities and pass it with an A. please take him. awesome test.

This is the best professor with the EASIEST CLASS EVER. All we did was take notes laugh at him with the lectures. He told us what was on the midterm word for word (30 minutes to take), 2 papers to do with 2 page requirment. Quiz almost every week thats 5 questions but you can google answers. and then Final was a timeline, 5 minutes to take.

His class for intro was so easy! You need the textbook for the online quizzes he has, but you can find the 5 answers in time without actually reading the chapter. We had two papers which were both really easy - if you did them, you got an A. In-class midterm and final reviews, very straight forward. Sparks is a funny dude, love him!
