Professor Lincke-Ivic was extremely helpful. You can tell she truly does care unlike many of the burned out professors that are teaching. I left her class feeling prepared for English 101 and inspired to continue. She knows her stuff and knows how to teach writing. Don't get me wrong, she is tough, but she is worth it.

She had to be one of the best teachers, I had at WEST. She taught me a lot and helped me when ever I needed it! I would take her if you get a chance she is very helpful.

I'm taking her online and didn't like her style for the online discussions. I also feel like taking it online I didn't learn very much either.

I recommend this Women's Literature class online. I did learn much, I think it is better than a traditional class. Anyone who does the work can get an A. My only complaint is that paper 1 centered around spring break, and was of greater magnitude than teacher probably anticipated-the entire week. However, assignments and readings were interesting.

Excellent at grading papers. She spends a great deal of time and effort to improve your skills by accurately and effectively grading your paper. By the second paper, you should have already made huge strides. Her choices of reading material are a little strange, but it's an easy "A" with a littl effort.

Nuala Lincke Ivic is a wonderful teacher who is hands on and more helpful than what most students' probably tell her. She explains her assignments to its fullest clairty making sure everyone understands. Everything you do in the class reflects her lessons and assignments. Never will you be confused or not satisfied with the class.

Very touch grader. Will take points off for improper citations. Very specific about how to write papers. She will respond to messages and emails, she was an okay professor but if you can find someone better, take the better one.

I had no idea what a critical thinking class would offer. I had to dig deep in this class and see all thinking in a differnt light. Prof. Lincke-Ivic is extremly helpful and encouraging. Take her if you can! :)

One of the best online english teachers West have. Be careful with her discussions because she runs them all together! But she touch on topics that we're dealing with right now. She do have you read some Socrates and Aristotle so be prepared! But other than that she's one of the best! Expect 2-3 assignments due at the end of each week...(Online)

I have taken half of my classes online. Prof Ivic has been the best! Bailley-Hofmann and Pilaro are great too. BTW, avoid Rachel Williams! I wish Prof Ivic taught more clases. Though she assigns lots of work and plenty of reading she carefully grades and makes suggestion for improvement, & notices your efforts! Very intelligent and respectful!

Prepare to work. Took her online class and it was not simple. If you plan to sleep through this class and get an A, you will not. Very odd reading choices, not a fan at all. She is a tough grader but if you put a full effort you can get an A. This should be your last choice for an online class, if you find something else, then please, take it.

A knowledgeable, intelligent, caring professor. She is an author text books for the English Student. I recommend her if you want to learn for real.

Well, I'm going to be honestest she can be a bit wacky but also incredibly entertaining. She very helpful and is not only interested in you doing well in her class but actually learning the tools you need to do well in all your other class as well. Love her!!!

Very interesting instructor and easy to talk to, she takes work in as long as you talk to her. I recommend seeing her a few times a semester so she gets to know you, and that you care about your grade. NO TEXTBOOK REQUIRED!!!=awesome to broke college students :) she does make you print stuff out which is better than buying over price books

Okay first off I love this Professor and I loved this classes!! THere were a lot of people in this class but she still made time to answer all my questions via e-mail. Since taking this class I become more confident in my writing and my ability to see the error in my paper and be able to correct them myself. I totally recommend her! Thanks

I really like this class. Once I got the rhythm of the course, it was pretty easy. You just have to stay on top of your reading and discussions. Do not fall behind make sure you stay on course if you want to pass class.

this prof knows her job. Everything is precisely calculated way ahead of time. I really did enjoy this class because the pace was really good and the topics were interesting. She taught me how to write. She was the most helpful prof so far by today. Books are free!

Everything was pretty clear, set in stone. But it was fun, a lot of writing about gangs. She was very helpful every step of the way.

This class was mentally harder than I expected in the sense of you have to challenge yourself and let go of fears to write freely. It takes alot out of you but is a gr8 experience/1st time writer. Discussions and topics were interesting and varied.I loved this class although it gave me anxiety. 2 of my pieces were picked 2 b published :)shes GREAT!

Like the topics and think this is the class everyone should take. She made it all about race and she's not scared. Seems conservative, but she's a liberal, but let's you be what you are without grading you down. Very cool lady, genuinely sweet.

Nuala is an intelligent woman, and she likes intelligent students. The online class requites participation on the forum (graded), writing essays and reviewing your classmates' essays. She gives clear directions, there's no space for misunderstanding. No book purchase. Be prepared to read and write A LOT. She is tough on corrections.

I came to West, not knowing how to write papers, have taken hers classes from English 21 through English 127. She has been an inspirational force in my academic trajectory, when I need it clarification or I was stuck--made an appointment, she walked me through every time. I wouldn't be were I am-if it wasn't for her. I decided to major in English.

she gets distracted very easily and usually doesnt get through everything she wants to in a day but that might be because i took her class over the summer so it was only a 6 six course. i highly recommend taking her she gives you multiply tries on all assignments and always gives you the best grade.

The reading material was really interesting and her book makes it easy to learn how to write properly. She cares a lot about her students and is really flexible with any issues. It's obvious her primary concern is making sure her students learn and leave with a real understanding of how to write a college level essay. I plan to take her again.

Professor L-Ivic is by far the best English teacher you can take at West LA I absolutely love her, we definitely need more caring professors like her. English 100 preparing for English 101. Be ready to write a lot of essays. She is inspirational. Grades well. So worries about grades. Work hard and she will give you A. I am sure of it. Awesome instructor.

English is not my strength in subjects. But I feel I learned a lot with Professor Nunu. She is amazing, gives you good feedback. She checks in to make sure you understand what you are doing , and will clarify if needed. Her book is really good and helps you with essays. She is a really good teacher glad I took her. I took Eng28, 101, and 103 with her. Very easy going teacher, and very active. Although she can be very confusing and unorganized sometimes, but you will make it as long as you try and do your best. The book she authored will be used in each and every class. She uses too many online resources as well. She is benevolent person with a good heart.

NuNu is the best teacher I've ever had. I would love to have this type of dedicated teacher every semester. It's the only class I've ever really loved. She cares so much about your success and understands you're a human behind the screen. She is willing to work with you if needed. I hope everyone gets a chance to have her as a teacher!

AMAZING PROFESSOR! Responds quickly and is very helpful when youre stuck. Took her online for an 8 week course for English 101 and it went by quickly. There was a lot more writing than reading but I got an A overall. Make sure you put in the work in order to pass and pay attention to her comments once shes graded your assignments.

Professor Lincke-Ivic is probably one of the nicest professors at West Los Angeles College. She will help you better understand English and will go in detail on what you have done right and wrong and what you can do to improve your work in the future. She truly cares about her students, You should consider taking her if you're on the fence.

She's great! She usually requests you to use 3 books for the classroom, but you can find them easily. The final is a paper, and the grading criteria isn't so bad. The usual 1500+ word count. The quizzes and multiple choice assignments are easy! You must reply to discussions, no biggy. Take her! It's an easy A, you just have to try :)

Its been an amazing experience. Her textbook is something thats actually pretty easy to follow and better than most. Its been great and helped to write essays.

Nunu is the best teacher I have taken so far. She truly cares about her students, all of us. But only take her class if you are interested in writing. You are going to write a lot. Every assignment was so interesting and made me a better writer. I wish I could take more classes like that. - Grades? If you write, you will get an A.

Took this class winter 2018 on campus. She cares about her students & wants the best for them; very inspirational & encouraging. Text book is easy to understand. Tendency to go off topic & can be a little disorganized, but never a dull moment. I do not like her writing style b/c I don't like writing in the way I speak.

I like how she introduces the writing concepts and the guidelines to follow. The choice of writers we studied was actually very interesting, and helped our writing. When you have great examples its easy to write better, and this is something NuNu does very well. Great, great teaching.

I took online Eng 103 and Creative Writing. It was an amazing class! 5 critical thinking essays in 5 weeks. Quizzes are not time-limited. Professor provides the articles and videos( movies!) - links to them. Take this class and gain knowledge without stress! Take any of her classes. Thank you, Professor, for your knowledge and for your kindness!

I learned a lot. The topic was very interesting. It was about why students fail. She was very active and she gives good feedback.

The topics were fun, and the expectations were not impossible to be met. I liked the clarity about what was supposed to be done. She's fun and not too rigid. Because her feedback would let me make corrections, I really liked the method she grades by. She lets you learn. You make mistakes, but then correct them in replies to her questions.

She was organized so I always knew where my grade stood. You can take quizzes as many times as you like to get an A. She has extra credit options. There was just a lot of peer review stuff to do but that's my only complaint .

Professor Nuala is an amazing professor. She really shows her compassion through her interactions with her students. Lots of essays and discussions but the work is fairly easy. The prompts are understandable and simple. She's very sweet and understanding. By far my favorite English professor. Recommend her 10/10.

If you're looking to learn something about writing I'd definitely take her class. She also gives great feedback so make sure you actually participate. I loved this class. Im not a big reader but Professor Lincke chose books/short stories that I really enjoyed. She gives wonderful feedback so you always know exactly what is expected and are able to do well on each assignment. Shes also very kind, responds to emails quickly, and is very accommodating when a student needs extensions/extra help.

THIS IS MY FAVORITE TEACHER I HAVE HAD THROUGHOUT COLLEGE! She is the only teacher who believes the teacher and student role is transposed often between each other. She tells you how to use her course through canvas, and even tells you how she would like work done. She is open minded and incorporates topics often OVERLOOKED as race and justice

Amazing professor! Take her if your major is English and enjoy creative writing. An extremely ENCOURAGING professor, she gives great feedback that will make you more passionate each time. If you have to take English 102, you should absolutely take her! She truly cares about all of her students. If you are not able to to attend her lectures she only requires an email just about your well-being... How thoughtful is that? Absolutely love this professor and wish I could take her for more classes!!!

I absolutely love this professor. I think that her work is fair but tough. If you are struggling or need clarification and you email her she will get back to you fairly quickly. I hope I can take another class with her. She will push you beyond your comfort zone and you will succeed.

Professor Nuala Is such a great professor. I am taking her for 2nd 8 weeks of spring and the class is flexible! plus she is willing to give an extension for assignment if an urgent emergency. Definitely recommend her, the workload is fair and you won't be stressed.

Prof. Lincke was awesome! I've never had a teacher who cared so much about her students, she's more than welcoming. There's a LOT of reading and writing involved, but her grading system is super fair and even at times too lenient. She's very adamant on being self-didactic, but it's helped me become more independent as a student! A++!

Best professor I've ever taken. They're very flexible with your schedule, and as long as you communicate weekly, do your 2 writing assignments, and reply to your peers you'll do great! There's also an essay at the end of the semester. Professors are the key to the future, and Professor Nuala was honestly so great and always kept me engaged.

Her topics per week are introduced as quizzes with unlimited attempts. Assignments consist of small discussions on a poem / monologue and a short story while providing feedback to other student's responses. There is a term paper at the end. You are required to talk on camera on some assignments. Carefully follow her rubric and you'll get an A.

She is a teacher they make movies about. I have never met such a caring, encouraging and passionate teacher. I spent zoom hours with her for incredible conversation and positive engagement. I saw her work with each student as needed very patiently. I am now looking for more English classes as she is incredible teacher and person. Great Class

Be prepared to write several papers, each with 3 drafts. She's overall easy, but you must do the work. She replies fast—usually within 24 hours—and offers weekly meetings by video, webchat, or email. Would take again, got an A+ in the class!

This professor is awesome. She is welcoming and very kind. Her assignments were actually fun and there's not really a lot of homework. This is English 103 and you do write essay? every week. Sometime its just a discussion but mostly its 1000 words essays or 500 words writing. Its really easy if you just put in time and put effort.
