God awful. Can't understand a word.
She is hard, but if you can do the work you'll really end up knowing the subject
I swear, this is the only math teacher I've ever had that couldn't do a problem that her class asked her to do. Seriously, she screwed up, and then told US to go home and figure it out. WE asked HER to do it because we didn't get it. In a word: awful.
Ya know, i don't know where UMD get their professors sometimes. All you want to do is take a class, learn, work hard and pass. But his professor is impossible. Her credentials need to be checked. Drop out rate is 90%

Great professor. As long as you do the homework you will be all set. Have weekly quizes to make sure you're getting the material.
Gives homework assignments Problems 1-17, 19-78, 80-126... you figure out if you can do that much homework.
This prof gets a bad rep. I believe she explained things well and her english isnt as bad as people say. Too many students blame their frustrations in understanding calc on her. Go to class, do the hw. I liked Budinsky

I dropped Nurit's class. Her English is poor to the degree that she could not teach effectively. A host of kids dropped her class; it wasn't just me.
Her english does take getting used to, but I don't think it is difficult to understand as much as it is distracting. The problem is she gives tons of packet work and doesn't go over how to do it before hand.
I took Calc I with her and got a B only because I took Calc in high school. I just dropped Calc II. Material on quizzes usually is from over a week prior. Internet homework is frustrating and takes longer than it should.
Quizes and tests don't really follow what was on the homework. The Calculus on the Web (a.k.a Zeee COW) is a very picky program that doesn't accept very many answers. Usually takes many hours longer to complete than it should.
class starts off pretty easy but suddenly it gets a little ridiculous, and the stupid COW needs to die, because it completely sucks and takes way too long.when she goes over prob. on the board, she'll say "if you dont know how to do this, get a tutor"...hello shes our freaking teacher...teach us!
She is the worst teacher I have ever had! Only two people are doing well in the class and she doesn't care. She teachers one chapter in one 50 min class. She is horrible BUT not as bad as the COW!
She has an accent that makes her very hard to understand and she is so strict about making things up. You'll never get her to let you retake anything. COW is useless, because she has us do it a different way when she gives us a quiz or test. She has to be one of, if not the worst teacher ever!
I've had some bad teachers, she is by far the worst. She constantly calls students foolish only to turn around have a glaring mistake pointed out to her. After much denial on her part that is. Avoid her at all costs!
She's the worst teacher ever! COW was useless, quizzes were terrible, can't understand her at all. If she was a decent teacher, I wouldn't have had to W from it and take it over the summer, which cost me $700!
Accent is charming. I never took calc in high school, didn't want to in college, but I wound up learning a lot. I may even change my major to math because of Professor Budinsky
She was a great teacher but her online homework was just about imposible. The program was very picky about how answers were answered. Her accent takes a little getting used to but doesn't effect her ability to teach students at all.

Great professor, really cares about her students. Gives Weekly quizzes to make sure you are up to date. Very patient and answers all questions. Takes attendance and sometimes collects homework, but that is for you own good.
Terrible teacher, offers little help, and when does, manages to insult the student asking for it. Scores very hard on tests, often giving no credit for problems when partial would be given by other teachers.
WORST MATH EXPERIENCE EVER! She flat out can't teach. When more than half the students drop the class, you know you've got a bad teacher. I took pride in being one of the few to stick with it, but that was about all I got from the class.
I did not take the class; I am a MTH major who tutored one of her students. After explaining the material to the student, who completed her packet flawlessly, Budinsky would not believe it was her work and gave her a bad grade. And the packets are f***ing useless anyways. Horrendous.

She was the worst professor I have ever had in my life. Her accent was horrible!! We started off with about 34 students in my class...ended with around 6 I think? That's ridiculous.
Not a very good teacher. Often hard to follow and didn't do much if you were struggling on something. The tests were pretty difficult and a lot of people failed.
Already taken Calc 1 and 2, this isn't even Calculus. She is however very hard to understand and is very redundant in her teaching. Do the homework and you'll do well but she speaks retardedly. Just go in for the quizzes and you'll be fine. She can't pronounce anything at all.
Her accent is so strong at times you have no idea what is going on. Her tests are hard and her attendence policy is lame. I had her twice and withdrew both times. Once because she was too hard and the second time because she assigned too much busy work. Avoid at all costs

she has to be kidding me with her english. She doent go into depth about anything thats actually on the tests and she assigns tons of homework that she doesnt even correct or explain. She is by far the worste english speaking human being on the planet

Fluency in English should be a requirement when hiring professors. Prof.'s thick accent = students fail quizzes. Nice lady though.
She's a thick Russian accent which makes her hard to understand. I could have overlooked that if she was a decent professor,but alas,she isn't. She explains concepts poorly (more so later on)and asking questions or giving answers is futile. She'll interrupt you and make you feel stupid. Also, she blatantly plays favorites when grading quizzes.

Had her for Calc 3... Twice... She is VERY confusing, and makes a lot of mistakes on the board, but I think she does it purposely so people learn by correcting her. Very smart teacher, but very unfair grading/testing. Tests consist of the material you learned, but in its hardest forms... Avoid her when possible, suck up to her if your there though

i think more than 75% of our class will fail. she is a horrible teacher. she says for quizzes and tests that you get no credit for no work, but if you have a ti89 and just put in answers you get full credit, but if the unfortunate kids with like ti83's who have to show all their work get one thing wrong, they basically fail.
The hardest Professor I've had. But She certainly makes sure you know your material. Grades hard because she knows most students just want to "get by", and wants students to actually learn material. Do all the homework, attend every lecture, then tests are not difficult at all. You will definitely learn something if come out with a B or above
Very smart lady, but fails to review her teaching approach. I would have learned more if she did not spend so much time putting down the class on how dumb she thought we were. MTH 213 is easy at first, but her last test and the final are extremely hard. And make sure you do the COW!
hardest class i have taken so far. she is hard to understand and because of that it is hard to learn. she encourages questions then puts you down because you have no idea what you are doing smart lady, horrible teacher. no partial credit so if you dont know what your doing dont bother. kiss up to her if you want to pass
She is not the best at teaching the material in class. However if you go to her office hours, she will help you out, but she can be a little harsh. Make sure you know algebra because she gets frustrated if you dont know it. Nice lady but she will take a lot points off of quizzes and tests for minor mistakes.
Had her for calc 3. Class size was about 50. She got into arguments with the ENTIRE class about test grades because the material wasn't covered and then tests graded harshly. One class, almost everyone walked out because we were all so mad. Horribly biased.
Horrendous teacher... shell call you out in class if you make the tinyiest mistake but if you correct anything she does shell flip out...do your self a favor and avoid this professor at all costs... i would transfer before i had to take her again!

Very hard grader, I once saw a kid get a zero on a quiz and his page was full of writing. She think all calc is is algebra and its not her fault if you dont know the stuff. Plus, her tests are hard.

I went to class, taught myself out of the book and got an A. Her tests are pretty straight forward. It's hard to mess that up though. Based on the calc teachers at UMD she is one of the very few that DOES understand what she is teaching. Buddinsky > (Soden et all).
This teacher is beyond terrible. Almost the whole class fails every quiz and test. You can barely understand her and she preaches to us about algebra and then messes up on algeba all the time. Veryy hard grader and you get yelled at when you ask a question and she makes you feel so stupid. Smart lady, but has no teaching skills.
Tough teacher and even tougher to understand sometimes. If you do the COW, book homework, and study it is very easy to get a good grade in her class. Class average was somewhere near failing.

Worst teacher ever. Do not take. If you don't know something she fails to explain it, then starts to hate you because she thins you don't belong in the class. I had to teach myself. Only plus is she's oblivious during exams, I literally had 10 pages of notes for the final exam on my desk when i took it.
Worst experience of my life. She fails to explain anything the class asks of her, saying that if we can get the easy examples then we should be able to do the hard ones. I could describe her as one of the worst professors I have ever come across, but that rating does not do her the justice she deserves, she's much, MUCH, worse.
Honestly one of the worst professors I have had. She refuses to give any credit for work that is correct, and gives any grade she pleases; if you piss her off, she'll give you a 10 on your quiz. Avoid this class if you can, it's a horrible experience.

I wanted to say at least one good thing about her but I can't. I thought these other ratings were exaggerating. They weren't. Can't understand her accent, hates questions, doesn't allow calculators for the most part. She was the only professor I could take but do everything you can to not get her. Unless you're a Calc expert, this class is hell.
She's a very difficult teacher and if you're not strong in algebra do not take her. Tests are very hard and she gives a lot of homework. She is not mean spirited or nasty to her students and she will help you if you need it. Most people in the class withdrew but it's not impossible to get a B or a C.
She is not as bad as everyone says. Even if you are not the best at math, pay attention in class and if you don't understand something, she is more than happy to help. If you pay attention, do the homework and show interest in the course, she will notice.
Terrible teacher. I studied for hours and still didn't know how to do half of my exams. Tests are much harder than class/ homework and she is condescending when you ask questions. She is a not an evil person per se but a terrible teacher and not helpful.

She does know what she's talking about however she has a very thick russian accent. This provides a language barrier that is very hard to overcome. Unless you have someone there to teach you the material that is not her then you will have a hard time. Don't buy the book if you have to take her because you only need it for the webassign homework.

She gives quizzes and tests that tutors even struggle with. The majority of your class will drop the class. Her accent is very difficult to understand and she refuses to go over any questions you may have because "it wastes class time."
BEWARE! Yes she does have an accent but if you listen carefully you can understand her and she explains alright. Will almost kill you if you contradict her and makes you answer your own question. HOMEWORK SHALL KILL U. I REPEAT, HOMEWORK SHALL KILL U. Only bout 5 questions on exam so know your stuff. If you already have a tough semester don't take.

you can not understand anything she says. often she is teaching it incorrectly and students have to correct her mistakes. I ended up being taught by i first semester freshman as opposed to her, he taught me more.
Computer science major very good at math and this lady was a joke. Every class someone would prove her wrong and it would be a never ending battle of hearing "its in zee booook". Tons of homework that will take hours to do. You miss one class your done. Do not take this class take this class with Professor Huff or Byung Lu
