just a horrible hard to understand prof

Very unwilling to help. Most of the people in my class had to teach themselves the material from the textbook

Please, please, please do yourself a favor and drop her class. Even if it means re-working your entire schedule or taking later classes. She treats the students like junior high kids, and has NO personality. The ONLY plus is that you don't have to go to her class. So if you have a job or family, and you can learn the material on your stay in.

Lecture section was pretty useless. Powerpoints were monotone and boring and a regergitation of everything that was in the text book. The one assignemt we had was worth 20% of the Mark... make sure you do well on it or it will screw you over. The final was pretty easy, pulled my mark up.

I am still in this class, but so far all of the previous comments have been VERY accurate. You cannot pack up at the end of class unless she is COMPLETELY done, you can't use your laptop and look at her, she will NOT answer your questions, and good luck when trying to understand her! I wish I could type more in this box - there's so much more!

Just read the textbook she is useless.

She is absolutely useless. Less than half the class shows up because it is pointless. Also, if someone took away her textbook she wouldn't know what to do. She constantly gets herself confused when she loses her place in the text book. She is not passionate about her job and has no personality.

terrible... there is no enthusiasm, no personality WHATSOEVER. ALL her notes and lectures are taken right from the textbook. she says that class attendance is not mandatory, which means she already ANTICIPATES that people will attend her class --- this alone proves that she is not passionate about teaching.

As everyone has said, don't go to class, she pretty well tells u not 2, exams are hard, when i do go to class theres like 4 kids in it ahah, shes hard to understand, no emotion except anger and doesn't seem to know her stuff (may be a language barrier)

Grant MacEwan College has made a huge mistake in hiring Nusrat Aireen as a teacher.

First of all, GMAC made a huge mistake making this prof an intro econ prof--this will make you never want to take econ again. You can't even understand her nor can you hear her. I was EXTREMELY disappointed. AWFUL prof.

Worst possible teacher you could thing of. Copies and pastes all notes from textbook its terrible (everyone knows how to read a text book. She always seemed pissed and stressed. Terrible and unclear accent

Awful teacher. She just reads the publishers powerpoint and she doesn?t even do that well. Presents the subject in a boring and uninteresting way. Really disappointed. Get out while you can.

This is easily the worst teacher I've ever encountered. She has ZERO motivation to teach; she needs to find a different career. She is rude and unhelpful.

This instructor is NOT helpful. Whenever I ask her a question, she hardly explains what I was originally asking. She tends to avoid the question entirely and talk about something irrelevant. Her teaching skills are horrible, she lacks talent in this profession. She seriously needs to stop teaching.

Please do NOT take her class. Her voice is like nails on a chalkboard. She is very hard to understand is pretty rude. Don't even bother going to class, because she makes no effort to make it interesting or engaging. Econ can be quite interesting if you have a good prof, she is just awful and doesn't know how to speak English properly.

I was in a guitar hero competition the day before the final, and ended up staying at the bar until 2am then went home and passed out. studied the practice final the morning of, and ended up getting 98% as it was word for word the same. I recommend this technique for her class

The lab component of STATS 151 was not that difficult but, Nusrat made this course difficult. She made her students feel like they were a burden when they asked for help and was flat out rude about it. She did not speak clearly which made myself and several other students teach ourselves the lab material. Do not recommend at all!

She is not very clear of what she expects. After you ask her a question, you feel more confused with her answer. Makes it seem like its a burden to ask her a question. Not helpful at all. Dodge if u can.

She insulted students when they would ask questions, and literally read the powerpoints. It was a stats course so some in class examples would have been nice. Some students would ask questions and she would not be able to provide an example about what she was speaking about. I learned everything myself from the practice midterm and finals.

No clear instructions, makes everything harder than it should be, insults any and all questions, rude to students.

Change your class if you can or else get ready to feel insulted and lost. The examples are bad and she will not help you.

She will get angry at students who ask questions that she thinks they should know the answer to. She reads the powerpoints in stats classes instead of showing how to do any questions. I have no respect for the way she talked down to some of my colleagues who struggled with mathematical concepts.

Any question you asked she wouldn't give you a proper answer or would get upset that you didn't already know the answer. She doesn't explain processes cleary. The lab shouldn't have been that difficult but she made it extremley hard. I wouldn't recommend.

She gets super mad when you ask her a question on some days and on other days she doesn't provide a clear explanation. If you ask her the same question twice to explain differently, you won't get it. She will say the same thing again.

Absolutely the worst prof I have ever had at MacEwan. Her accent is VERY thick, you cant understand half of what she says. There are always errors in her sides (which students point out). She has no idea what the material is about. She cant do real examples of equations, because she doesnt know how. She just reads off the already created slides

Honestly not anywhere near a great prof. She is unclear about information and only reads straight off her slides. Sometimes her slides are incorrect and she doesn't even realize because she doesn't know the answers. Would not recommend taking econ 101 with Nusrat.

Power point slides would lead you in a opposite direction she would like. Hard to talk too.

Very rude prof, expected students to know the answer when they want to ask any questions, she took a week on our students' dime and cancelled lectures. No point of going to class also because she reads off the powerpoint, taking class with her is like do it yourself.

Nusrat is the definition of elegance, class and nobility. Absolutely unreal teacher but kinda sucks at teaching.

She is literally a walking textbook. Everything from her notes and the questions she goes over in class are from the textbook. There is only one assignment you have to do in class for marks. The other things you are marked on is the midterms and the final. She wouldnt even go over the first midterm with us. Please dont take her class.

Nusrat means well, and the class isn't too difficult but she has a hard time communicating with her students. If you ask a question be prepared for her to explain something you didn't ask about and then wait for a smug smile. If you have other options for prof's take them

Big oof. Just avoid if you can. You're better off just teaching yourself the material. Midterms (2) and final were not hard but only if you study and go through practice exams.

Her lecture is just her rewriting what she has typed up on a powepoint you have access to. She is makes the course more confusing, and doesn't seem to know what shes doing. Save your money

Avoid this prof if you can. She teachs at as very fast pace. She'll teach the material on the board then do a couple of examples from the textbook but she'll do the example for you, not giving you time to process information. You can't even ask for help from another student she'll yell at you. If I am being honest she's like a high school teacher.

DO NOT TAKE HER COURSE ONLINE. She recorded all her lectures prior to the fall 2020 covid online semester and uploaded the entire course and basically said good luck to the students. I have never seen as little effort from an instructor as from her. Completely detached from the course. Didnt answer questions by email which she told us we could do.

Rude, doesn’t answer questions properly, and doesn’t engage with students. Her lectures are long winded and don’t answer your questions. She doesn’t explain things well, you’re better off watching the demo videos rather than attending these online lab lectures.

Extremely challenging tests that are NOTHING like her practice questions, her midterm reviews were basically the only way to know what would be on the test. AVOID THIS CLASS

Unfortunately didn't learn anything from attending lectures, be prepared to teach yourself! You are NOT allowed to use excel; it's pen and paper only. Enters/exits the class without a hello/goodbye..stares at you in silence if you try to say hello. I genuinely think she hates teaching, there's no other explanation for her poor quality lectures.

She doesn't teach well at all, we had a test on chapter 2 one of the questions was about "stem and leaf diagrams" in the online video she supplied she said, "she was skipping the stem and leaf plot because as of now we are not using it" when in reality it was on the test...

This professor barely responds to emails and doesn't give feedback when you get an answer wrong on tests. She gave us no clear window for our midterm on the course outline. She assigned us a midterm on thanksgiving. ON THANKSGIVING MONDAY. How is this woman still teaching? Why do I have to pay money for an online course when she does nothing?

She mistakenly put a future chapter onto our midterm which caused confusion and stressed during the test. Sent an email at 11pm about the mistake and rescheduled the retake to the day after with no chance of an extension. Has little to no care about student's other tests and endeavors and made students pay dearly for her mistake.

If you want to stress for hours on end than this is your class! This prof made an error on our midterm and made us rewrite it the next day with no extentions what so ever even though it was her mistake. I had an important family emergency and she had no remorce the give me an extention..Also she hardly respond to your emails.. oh wait she doesnt!

The worst and rudest professor I have ever had. Does not care about her students at all. Tells you to not ask for an extension and to not ask for any requests; no matter the situation.

Stay far far away. Just for context, I was an A+ student in both MGTS 103 and 113. I found both of those very enjoyable and easy. Nusrat cannot explain concepts, uses very convoluted slides, and provides ZERO additional resources for study. Every single test on pen and paper, while the math is done on Excel. Save your GPA, avoid.

Had Nusrat for stat151lab in spring and withdrew. Horrible prof, does not explain things well, gives attitude, shouts at students and moves so quickly in the material. Me and others would be so confused in class, she'd already be on the third example while students are stuck on the first and need help. You really have to teach yourself, AVOID.

Almost ended my entire academic career taking this teacher in my first ever semester, I could not understand anything she explains in lectures. Rude and doesn't fully answer questions. Single worst professor i've taken and my only fail on my transcript. Avoid at all costs!!

I think she likes to hear herself talk. Lectures are dull, way too fast, and hard to understand. She uses Excel when we're taught new concepts, but all tests are done by pen and paper. If you're someone who struggles in math-related courses and would rather not teach themselves the entire semester, AVOID AVOID AVOID.

She gets very frustrated when you ask for help and talks quickly just to make you go away or something. She rarely answers emails and is not very positive or enthusiastic. Assignments are ridiculous, having 6 sections due all on the same day a week after 4 other sections were due is absurd. MGTS is not hard, she makes it hard. I would avoid.

Difficult to understand, gets mad at students often. Wouldn't recommend anyone to voluntarily choose her, if you get stuck with her it isn't the end of the world though.

Not one to write a mean rating but, horrible, her accent is very heavy, she will NOT repeat herself more than twice, if you do ask her to repeat what she did, she will get annoyed and look at you in a disgusting manner and get upset. She often sometimes laughs at random times when trying to ask the class a question(?).

Ok, I will say she went over every assignment for stats with us and in the end helped. BUT, she was mean/rude as she refused to repeat things (kinda tough since she has a heavy accent), and would literally call you out if she saw you doing it wrong, I tried to ask for help but was like "Why don't you get it, I just explained it." Very fast-paced

Awful lady. Whole semester our exams were all open book, and she never gave any information about the final exam being closed book until the day before the exam.

This prof will not help you out in any means. She goes against her syllabus and makes up her own rules as she pleases. Also will not provide you with any study material and practice exams. I reached out to her asking if she can provide me with extra practice and got so much attitude that I HAD TO CC THE DEPARTMENT HEAD IN OUR EMAIL THREAD.
