She is extremely thorough in her grading but it's only to help you improve your writing. She also loves to point out that you learned nothing in high school. As long as you put yourself wholeheartedly into her class, there should be no problems. She is a tough grader but allows you to improve your work for a better grade in daily assignments.

I took her for both 1301 and 1302 both online and got an A+ in both. She gives soooo much extra credit. In 1301 she allowed up to 5 submission attempts and would not take points off after each attempt and in 1302 she allowed up to 2 attempts. She grades and responds to messages very quickly.

I think this professor is one of my favorites. Even though she provided examples for the assignments, it was still a little difficult to understand at the beginning only though. Over time you get used to it and I don't see how anyone can actually fail this class.

I took Professor Nydia Garcia-Pena for the GOLD program at my high school, and it was a bit tough (as a high school student taking a college course). Overall, it wasn't that much work to do, and luckily this course can prepare you for what is coming up ahead (especially university work). She is a strict grader, but the course isn't that difficult.

Several examples of work & videos to follow it was only difficult in the beginning as you get the momentum of the course. Strict grader but willing to help you improve through feedback/multiple tries. If you're willing to work you will easily pass this class. I failed this class at a different university but ended this class with a 98! Fast paced!

Overall very good teacher, just don't miss classes as she gives many of the answers that go into the exam and reading quizzes. Attendance is not mandatory but if you go she will see how to help you to get a good grade.
