He's really interested in what he teaches and is well educated in his field. Course is very interesting and will get your attention with the topics in this class. I highly recommend this course. May change your way of thinking. Very down to earth. Entertains you with his dancing to music thats played before class starts.
He's a cool cat he puts alot of himself into what he teaches. He likes to play devils advocate for the sake of opening your mind. If ur a conscious minded person and like to share your ideas take his class.

o man prof. george kicks ass! he swears a lot but its so funny u just cant be offended! and hes young so he understands just about everything. take him and you'll not be dissappointed.
He was a first-year professor when I took his class, and I was a first-year college student. I dont think he was the greatest teacher to get the first year of college, but whatever. He was unorganized. When he didnt want to lecture he played Def Poets, which was a waste of time. Not the greatest teacher but not the worst teacher. Laid back class.
Cool teacher. Lecture heavy does a good job of making it interesting. He's passionate about focus gives reasonable assignments/grades. Occasionally gets disorganized in lecture or time runs out on his lesson plan, but he always makes up for it. You can learn with him has great info, discussions and sense of humor - fun class. Do the essays!
this teacher is badass... 3 essays, 3 tests simple as that.
He's willing to help students who want and/or need help, but for me the textbook was difficult to read and I'm suprised I didn't fail the class.
Prof George is awesome. All you have to do is show up to class, take decent notes, and write like 4 papers and you'll be able to easily pass.
this is just my first semester at CRC and i like being at his class most at the times eventhough the attendance in his class is not really required...but something pissed me off about him..because of those s!ht homework essays that he assigned to us...he's unfair to give grades and totally waste of time.its all a waste for me this spring bec. of hi
OH MY GOODNESS!!! I loved Pro. George!! First of all he was so much fun. When you first walked into class he had music playing...he wants participation and he explains things very well. He is fun and funny and wants his students to do well. Don't miss class, do all your assignments and your good...oh and take really good notes and read...
Great teacher. His methods are very modern to attract the students attention. I attended his evening class with elder students, but his teachings still got through to all of us. Great dancer btw
Good Teacher. Impressed with his style and passion - mind opening. Notes on lectures, films, videos are crucial to pass exams, write essays and papers. I highly recommend this class.
Horrible teacher...he pretends to be cool, but when he is not in good mood, he doesn't even want do the lecture. His class is boring, and he has horrible handwritten that when he writes in the board is really hard to understand what he wrote. Very unclear and instead of helping you, he make you more confused, he doesn?t give a study guide for the t
He begins with music, and that's the oly good thing. his class is so boring and he is very unclear. he doesn't take the time to prepare his lecture, and he wants the students to do it. if you really want to take this class you have to work on your own because he doens'n help you....bad teacher!!!
I loved Prof. George!! He was and still is my favorite instructor! he was always very helpful, really down to earth and super willing to "rap" about whatever we needed more clairty on! He is awesome and super fair! I would take him for as many classes as possible!
This is the best Professor I ever had!!! and I really mean that. He is really knowledgeable and a down to earth person. I also enjoyed all the energy he puts into the class!! Thank you Professor George!!
i was lost the entire semester!
He is an ok teacher. He is personable and understanding. However I thought his lectures were boring and unclear. We never used the book in class, but he referenced it for tests.
Very informative, test review extremely helpful. Lecture will cover exams for the most part. He definitely made the course interesting. Recommend him for intro to sociology.
Mr. George is ok, he's nice and all but some of the things he teaches don't have any relevance to what we're learning from the book like the genres of dance when we were studying slavery and black americans
Great lectures and interesting subject. Study guides ARE the test, and 3 easy homework assignments whole semester. Attendance not mandatory, but needed if you dont read the book
MR. George . He is the best teacher ever. I took soc 300 and 321. Everything was so easy. I got both A's. There is no way you can fail his class or get a bad grade. He is the best i love him.
Good teacher, but a bit vanilla even though he tries to make it interesting. Mostly tells you dates where this and this happened and shows a lot of documentaries. Only 3 short essays to write and several tests, grades easy, gives fair extra credit. Gives you a helpful study guide and goes over what's going to be on the test beforehand.
He is boring and his stories are not that interesting. I and a lot of others fall asleep in his class.
He's disorganized. He often has to look back at his notes to continue lecture. He's supposed to teach out of the 10th Edition textbook and when I asked if it was okay to use the 9th edition, he wasn't really helpful. Then I find out his handouts are based off of the 9th edition. He starts his lectures with music, but that doesn't really help.
I disagree. I found Professor George more than willing to help me throughout the semester. I learned new things in his class and I changed my views on others. I really felt fulfilled by this course at the end of the semester. He is well articulate and smart and... really cute!
I found him to be disorganized and difficult to learn from. Instead of giving homework that involves studying or writing about the subject he merely stood in class regurgitating facts and expecting students to remember them. It was a history lesson not sociology.
This professor was recommended to me, and I am so disappointed. His tests are tricky multiple choice questions, and one essay question about Assimilation Model, which he does not explain that much. He does not use the book in class at all. He appeals to younger students. He loves clubbing and dancing is his passion. Don't know why he teaches SOC.
Seriously?! Seriously... I'm almost positive that the people that think this professor is hard must not speak English... At all. Ever. The lectures are directly out of the book, so to say you never use your book is BS. Nobody is falling asleep either. Maybe if you stayed awake you would have passed and you wouldn't be so pissed off.
For one I'm not an audio learner and this guy just talks and talks and just keeps talking. Sometimes I found my self almost dosing off! He is cool outsside of class though and he is funny with his helpful music at the beginning of class. I am going to cut him some slack because of that terrible drawing he drew today is he trying to teach a new way?
I would recommend professor george to anyone his class is easy if you pay attention and do the work it is impossible not to get an A+ if you do the extra study guides that are in the syllabus and go to his office hours if you have an essay due he is more than willing to help if i could i would take all my Soc. classes with this guy i would.
Extremely Easy. Fun to get along with. Down to earth professor.
I took Soc 321 with him. His is one of the best teachers I ever had!! Take him if you wanna learn about sociology, specially if you want to major in it. 10 out of 10!!
Cool guy..very easy...take class notes and pass all the tests!!
Take this class if you want an easy A but if you want to learn something DONT WASTE YOUR TIME. He covers 11 chapters and skims through it, does not have the work experience and lectures can be boring since he goes off subject a lot of time.
My first semester, I came into his class with a positive attitude, I always took notes on his lectures and movies. His lectures were difficult for me to follow because he frequently got off topic and would tell the class of his nights out, sure it would have been interesting if it wasn't during classtime, but I was there to learn. He needs friends!
I like his teaching style HOWEVER he need to keep up & not get behind. I was excited & looked 4ward to learn more about my culture, but time run out!...So he DID NOT cover Southeast Asia!!:(
OMG... Professor George is the S*#%! I love his class! He is one of the coolest teachers that I've had in a long time. He is hella easy, hella fun, and he knows what he is talking about. George is very helpful, and if he does not know the answer, he will do research and follow up with you. His test and exams are hella easy, as long as you are there
I took professor George in summer school over the summer semester. Taking professor george's class and was very interesting Professor George is a really a chill teacher and I recommend him to any student! Easy A in the class!
He's a very cool teacher and he knows what he's talking about. He does his lec without powerpoint bc he really knows his stuff...I would recommend you reading the book for the test and look over the lecture because his tests are mostly base on the lecture nots
he ROCKS! he is very fun and entergetic and gets to know you as a person rather than just a student. he gives very little homework and i passed without even having a book.
He is OFF THE HOOK!!!! 2 Thumbs up! 5 STARS all the way...Very fun class to be in. Strongly Recommended

Great choice if you're trying to complete GE. Encourages discussion. Easy class but don't slack off, put in all your effort. Exams and quizzes are straight forward, basically his lecture notes but book will definitely help. SUPER chill teacher, this guy has so much swag.
He's very nice. Tests/Exams are straight out of the textbook. His class can be boring sometimes, but he's funny and tried to entertain the class as much as he can.
It ended up being a pretty fun course. He mixed it up, so that it wasn't as dry as I'm sure a lot of teachers would make it. I recommend his course.
2 short papers. 3 quizzes. 3 multiple choice tests. Pop attendance. If you need help he is the guy to go to. He is fun & enjoys class discussions. The tests require you to read and listen to lecture. He gives a study guide but it doesn't always have all the material that will be on the test.
easy fun class
GREAT TEACHER!!!! GREAT CLASS!!!! I've taken two of his SOC classes and will probably take him again.
He is really cool. He's still young so he knows how to relate to his students. He is very smart and helpful. Very easy to approach. We had two short papers. His tests and quizzes are mostly multiple choice.
Professor George is amazing. One of the most inspiring professors you could ever take. He's got a lot of soul. His passion for sociology is contagious. Taking his classes will make you grow as a person if you commit to them.
he is alright cool guy but the thing is like he ends up going off track and sometimes unclear but overall a decent professor.
Professor George is a great teacher! Only complaint I have is his Exams. He gives study guides that may not be on the test or have nothing to do with the test so make sure you study hard and take good lecture notes. Read your book too! I don't recommend him if you're looking for an easy A.
The study guides didnt match the exams. Class often went off topic & all content didnt get covered in class. You have to read the book & other sources b/c after random discussions, you dont have time to talk about actual content. Hes an knowledgeable teacher, but not a good facilitator of class time and content.
He is a great professor. He's young and modern, but he knows his stuff. You can't BS anything with him. Plus he's pretty nice to look at!:) You might want to come to class everyday b/c he has pop attendance. Those points are necessary. Quizzes=easy, assignments=easy, exams=study good.
Awesome professor. Very down to earth, funny, and very knowledgeable. He goes over the textbook fairly well, but read it so you can understand the material much easier. Definitely recommend him.
AWESOME PROFESSOR, EASY TESTS HUMERUS. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Study guides don't match the tests. He's arrogant. He is off topic all the time and rarely allows people to speak up. He acts like a 'know-it-all' It's hard to communicate with him because he acts like what the student has to say doesn't matter in the end. I wouldn't recommend him to people unless you want a professor who is full of himself.
100% agree with the person below me. I have him for both Soc 321 & 300. His teaching style seem to be awakward...I'm an "A" student, but end up receiving a "C" in Soc 321 but an "A" in Soc 300.
I had him for Soc 300&321 he's an awesome teacher. Makes class interesting. Exams are semi tough you just need to make sure to study and attend lecture. I highly recommend him!
Okay lets just start with... this BECAREFUL! Don't fall for this class just because of a FEW good reviews those people are MAJORING in this thats why they gave a good review. If you are trying to take it as a GE DONT!!! hes off topic... rarely helps... study guides are not on the test or quizzes. Essays are annoying to write for his class too.
I have taken this professor twice and will be taken him again in the fall of 2012. He is an excellent teacher and always willing to help if you seek it. He makes himself available during his office hours. To succeed in his class you have to study. Make sure to take good notes. You get out of the class what you put in.Hard work means good grades.
The quizes and exams(determines overall grade) were based on the textbook material. Most of what was discussed in class didn't help me with the quizes and exams. The class was decent.
class selection starting soon so just wanted to say that...this prof. is not as gud as ppl say...his class is fun i guess bt he a hard grader. Doesnt tell u much about assignments n expects u to do gud
I would not recommend taking this professor. I consider myself an intelligent person but to have a professor speak to you like you are in highschool is unacceptable. Also, to listen to a professor use foul language in class in shocking. He rarely lectures and is always off topics therefore you walk out of class not learning anything.
I like him, he's nice. However, I found his lecture sometimes irrelevant or that he let students get carried away with the topic. Tests are okay. He has potluck at the end of semester. Nice guy, but I would recommend a different Professor.
Loved Professor George! Very clear, and easy to understand teaching skills. Gives extra credit assignments. If you dont understand, he is happy to help! Fair grader! POINT BLANK, HE's AWESOME!!!! TAKE HIM TAKE HIM TAKE HIM!
Just take Zisk!!!! Seriously. Did not enjoy his class at all. Lectures were hell, so boring and to top that off extremely off topic, he always moved the date on everything, therefore leaving everything up to us for the final. So stressing!! He's also full of himself even though he tries to act all humble.
off topic lets two people control class unorganized do dates postponted or eliminated. One of the worst prof at crc
He's very engaging but his tests are very very difficult. I would not recommend taking him if you are looking for an easy class. This class requires alot of work and would recommend forming a study group if you are stuck taking his class
I loved this professor. Very down to earth. His lectures were engaging. I was turned off at first with his going over the syllabus in the beginning. I almost chose another class, but I'm glad I stuck with the class. He's very personable and willing to challenge your thinking.
Kinda goes off topic and you have to take responsibility for reading on your own time because he doesn't always cover everything in class. Grades easy. Tests are good if you study.
He's a pretty cool prof, and is really interesting. He usually doesn't get through everything in class so you have to be sure to read the chapter before class. Not much homework and a couple essays but he grades fairly easy. Overall, you need to put in effort but not over exert any. Read the book and study before tests/quizzes and you'll do fine.
He is a cool teacher, but gets super off topic and misses class alot. The one thing I disliked and will keep me from taking his classes again is he let's the "bad" and loud disruptive students over power the class and he goes along with them messing around. It is funny sometimes but into the semester, thats all his class consists of. Id give 4/10..
He sucks as a teacher.
WORST PROFESSOR I EVER HAD!!!! he tries way too hard on being cool and not hard enough on actually teaching the material. Tests are impossible and have to do the majority of work out of class. He has ADD and would rather go clubbing than do his job. I'm usually an A student and got a D
Professor George is easily one of the best professors I've ever had. His upbeat attitude and passion for the subject make attending class fun and enjoyable. I left every class feeling inspired. Grading is VERY FAIR--you EARN what you get. Put in the work and you'll get an A or B. He's a professor and a friend. A truly caring and sincere individual
He is so easy! He plays music at the start of class & engages everybody. He loves to let student's ideas flow out plus I got points for pop attendances. Wasn't really worried about the professor as much as those students who DTM by reading extra. I was sleepy most of the class and still passes with a B. Just do the work and you're be fine.
He is very passionate and very good at teaching! He just needs to be more thorough and a lot of what we learn is not even on the test. You must study the book. He's very cool in all. TAKE HIM!
Worst Professor I have ever had. Very unclear in his lectures and does not grade fairly. I wish I would never have taken this class.
If you don't need a professor holding your hand through everything, this is the professor is you! The class is very easy if you keep up with the reading and bring that knowledge to class. He does 5 "pop" attendance during the semester(most likely to keep students from coming to class). Meet some new friends because the quizzes and exam are online.
Very passionate and very funny. Easy to understand lectures. Quizzes and exams are taken online, so you can easily google the answers, but if you readpay attention in class you don't need to. Don't take this class if you hate profs who talk about themselves (even though his stories make great examples, he tends to go off topics with them).
I would not take another class with prof. george. He does not go by the syllabus AT ALL!. Way too many documentaries! We wasted time watching the documentaries when we should have been covering the material. He NEVER covered the material for the FINAL! HE handed out the handouts and we were on our own! TOO much Foul language. Needs to mature!
Great teacher! Not very hard, but not easy. If you read textbook and watch documentaries then you will pass. Great on posting your grades on time. Very clear grading system.
He's a great professor. It's not an easy A you gotta put in the work but he is very up beat and inspirational during his lectures. Keeps you interested and focused. I would definitely take his classes again.
The class is entertaining for sure. However, clarity lacked and I didn't enjoy the class as much because I felt like even when I studied I still didn't do as well. (Which hasn't been an issue for me in the past) I will say that he is passionate about what he does and loves to have fun. But sometimes it gets to be a little much.
He is very entertaining, smart and passionate about his teaching. He pours out way too much information at once and his pace of teaching is really fast. You'll be watching a lot of documentaries and taking QUIZZES on them. You'll do up to 3 BIG ESSAYS, and around 4-5 ONLINE TESTS. His lectures are unrelated to the test questions, unfortunately.
He's likeable enough but he has a tendency to go off topic way too much. He talks a lot but says very little. I like it when teachers try to be relatable but he went way overboard and wasted a lot of class time. That being said, the class is an easy A as long as you do the work.
Hes a really good teacher but you have to study a lot in order to pass his class. I studied everyday and still got a B+
Professor George is an amazing teacher, if he taught other subjects I would take his classes. You basically take notes the whole semester hence it is a lecture class but he expects you to be writing down what he says for lectures. 6 Pop attendance, a 7 page paper but don't worry you will have about 4 months to work on the paper and it's easy.
Great professor! He is very intelligent and knows a lot about what he's teaching. He relates to students well and is really cool. Breaks out in random dance which is always fun.
Professor George is great. Voice is loud, but not too loud, made the class discussions comfortable enough to discuss controversial topics without any arguments, it was a great time for everyone involved.
You are required one book and you must read the book. He does online quizzes and test so it is crazy easy to pass since its open book. But if you read, you will pass with flying colors. There is extra credit so be sure to attending every class. Also POP-Attendance and that can affect your grade if you don't attend class.
Professor George is fantastic. He's there to help you learn about sociology especially if it is your major. You can always stop by his office, and talk to him about anything. His quizzes and tests are online which are open book. There is a pretty big essay he assigns but he offers help if you need it.
Arguably the most enjoyable Professor I've taken; I'd highly recommend him.
Prof. G is a funny guy, and keeps class lively. He encourages students to participate, and invites students to office hours to talk about anything. Read before every class. There's a few assignments. My class wrote 2 essays and 3 video notes based on videos/documentaries. Tests, quizzes and final are online and open note. Very manageable class. :)
Cool, funny teacher who enjoys what he does. I will say though, take notes, the tests pulls specific information that's easy to forget. And if your having trouble, ask, he is willing and wants to talk but if your failing and stay quite, you'll probably continue to fail.
This was the easiest class I have ever taken. I missed class more than usual, and I got an A. Read the book and you will pass. He does go off topic and it can be annoying, but he is a good soul. He cares about the students. Take his class if you need Soc 300!
He does tend to go off at times but most of the time his rants do connect with the subject relating to sociology. He cares a lot about his students and encourages them to visit him on office hours for the paper (and trust me, he gives back great feedback). This is a fairly easy class if you attend daily and take good notes; you will learn a lot.
Prof. George is an open and honest professor. All quizzes and tests are taken on D2L at home. He is very funny! He plays videos and dances at the beginning of every class to lighten the mood. We did three essays in his SOC 300 class, which were only 2-3 pages long. Attendance isn't necessarily mandatory, but he does pop attendance!
He is by far the best professor I had. His tests are online and he has documentaries to watch on with video notes which are helpful to use as a study guide because there are quizzes based on them , plays videos in the beginning of class which are fun. Just show up, do the assignments and you will pass. He is there to help you when you need it.
Great guy with a lot of knowledge on the subject. A real in-depth class where you will learn a lot, but he will hold you to a standard of a scholar. This is the lowest grade I've gotten in a class so far, but he is also one of the best teachers I've ever had. You will learn a lot about our society in this class but not an easy A.
I'll be honest, I wasn't really into sociology and only took this class to fulfill GE requirements. But I was pleasantly surprised. His class was pretty engaging, his lectures are fun, and documentaries are interesting. Fair grader. You don't have to read the entire tome, just use the study guide. Quizzes are easy.
Expectations like a HS teacher, online final/tests are open book & easy if you study w/ quizlet and read. Long lectures but offers breaks. Study guides to straightforward quizzes about documentaries help. Does random attendance checks every week and starts class w/ trending Youtube music video. TA grades harsh on paper but def recommend taking!
Funny, caring, inspirational, laid back, easy to follow lectures, open book exams, midterms, finals. What else could you want?
This class was pretty easy- you don't have to show up or take note (even though he lectures the entire class). All quizzes and exams are straight out of the textbook. On the downside-his TA grades all the assignments and she's pretty harsh and provides little to no feedback, oh and it takes her forever to grade the essays
George was my first professor at CRC. I took his class during my summber break for my junior year in high school. some times the lectures would get boring but overall i enjoyed my experiance with prof. George
This professor is easy to get mad if you ask him questions about the class material.
professor George is a good professor. I like the way he teaches, but he is very tough grader. Not an easy class. 2 hours for 50 questions, he should give some more time. 6 quizzes in class 89 points, 4 exams 50 points each including 1 final, 3 assignments, and he added more assignments after class starts. Boring videos for quiz. Not an easy A.
Professor George is unlike any Professor I've had before. He's very chill and funny, but can be serious when he needs to be. He's not afraid to open up to students about himself, and he's very rational and accepting of others. He knows how to keep his students engaged with a mixture of his quirky personality and interesting life stories.
Professor G is one of the best professors I have had he is very motivational and caring very easy to talk to if you are a freshman and scared I would recommend taking him he is very hard but easy at the same time if you need help he is there for his students but he does not play.
I took Professor G for SOC300, he was very laid back. Funny, always started class with a cool video. But he was a tough grader. Then I decided to take his online SOC 341 class, he didnt reply to emails and took months to grade one essay. Cool professor in person, but definitely wouldnt ever take his online class again.
Professor G is amazing at what he does. His lectures are interesting and they help you connect back to the material. Show up to class every day and visit his office hours if you need help on any of the papers, he gives great feedback!
Since this was an online class I knew it would be slightly easygoing based on the syllabus. While I enjoyed the lack of assignments and the due dates in between, I probably wouldn't take him again due to the lack of posting grades on time and the videos he sends out to check up on students. The class itself was alright and there's only 2 essays.
Super fun professor. Liked his lectures so much I'd sit in on his other classes just to learn from him. Easy A, he's trying to really get through to students, not make them worried about passing or failing a simple course. Textbook "required" but between lectures and videos you don't really need it. Very lecture heavy but he's entertaining.
Very few assignments, easy work but extremely unreasonable. I had perfect scores on all assignments until one essay ruined it. From 97% to 79%. Essay was weighted more than all exams combined. Ignored my email about my grade twice (even though he is an online professor) and made no effort to help my situation despite an irrational grading system.
I am thoroughly disappointed in this class. Not only is the subject matter severely outdated (the book itself is almost 10yrs old) but his lectures are monotoned and do not cover the whole chapter. He also has unclear assignments with very poorly put together examples that do not follow the chapter (for a chapter outline). Would not recommend.
Does not respond to emails, although it was an online course. Material that was distributed for reading and tests were photocopied so badly that they were barely legible. Does not grade assignments until near the end of the short semester
Not sure why people are saying hes a bad teacher, I have had Professor Nyembeku for three classes now Soc 300-321-341 and have passed all of them with an B or A. His tests seem hard but look on quizlet and you'll understand them better. The outlines and essays are graded harshly but he is fair, if you try he'll see and put that into consideration.
You're only graded on two outlines and a few tests. Follow *every detail* the outline guides - I got marked off 50 points because I didn't add *color* to the outlines. ALL ANSWERS to test questions are available online. Tests are easy and reuse quiz questions. VERY EASY CLASS!!
Do not take this professor he does not keep his word he made a mistake on a test we had to reach out several times to have him aware of the situation does not respond to emails and takes forever to grade work very unorganized videos are all over the place also
Prof. George is an understanding teacher. If you plan to take SOC320, be prepared to teach yourself the course and keep up with lectures and materials. He does NOT reach out often, nor does he check in and make sure you're keeping up. His class was self-paced as well as self-taught. Hardly responds accordingly to emails.
Online asynchronous class. We are graded on quizzes and exams as well as 3 major projects that are due at the end of the semester. There is a lot of information covered in this class. I suggest checking online for answers to these graded assignments. The quiz / exam questions were always particular and specific to details in each section.
Most of the class is on your own time with reading on an online textbook he gave. Prof also has chapter summary vids. There's 3 big assignments based on the textbook. An essay, a chapter outline, and you make your own exam based on some of the chapters. There's a few chapter quizzes, but honestly it's a really easy class, can look up answers too.
Online class. Jokes so bad they're funny. Would take again.
He took some time getting back to emails and wasn't in favor of opening up assignments early. He graded things harshly but not extremely. Overall would take again because it was a flexible course. Just manage your time well and know the due dates. He was available outside of class for anyone who needed him.
Quirky professor with engaging lectures. Utilizes online resources like unstuck AI for study prep alongside textbook. Grading can be strict but fair if you put in the effort.
I hear good things about Professor George from other people on campus but I just did not enjoy my experience in his class. He would say some crude things during the lecture that I found more distracting than helpful and he singled people out during class more often than I felt was necessary which I disliked a lot.
