Class was hard! At first he didn't explain then he tried to teach what lecture was already teaching. Very critical about decimal places and signs.
Barely speaks English, very hard to understand
No Comments
Poor teaching skill, your pretty much on your own in this class. Lab book doesn't explain anything. He was TBA prof. Good luck!
Horrible teacher. Doesn't speak English! Very difficult to understand. Doesn't prepare for class and confuses everyone. Tests are difficult and you see a lot of stuff he didn't teach on the final exam. Final is worth 50% of final grade. Take him If you want to comit suicide!!!!!!!!!!!
Horrible teacher. hardly speaks English and confuses everyone when explaining. Tests are very unresonable and difficult. Final is worth 50% of grade. You are on your own with this guy.
Bad teacher. Does not know how to explain. Confuses everyone including himself at times. Test don't make sense and he doesn't care if the entire class gets a bad grade or fails. Hardly speaks English. Good luck if you take him.
Not a good teacher. No one understands him. Hardly speaks English. Tests are very hard and confusing. Don't take him or you will regret it.
Do not recomend him. Confuses everyone when explaining. Hardly speaks English. Tests are tricky and Difficult! Half of the class fail including a very smart guy that I new. Good luck if you take him.
He is a wonderful proffesor who cares about the students welfare. he will go d xtra length to help his students. this is a definate "A" class. he is very easy to understand.
IF U SAY THIS class i s hard ur just plain dumb and lazy. u cant find a proffesor like this anywhere. its like he was sent from heaven!!!!
Excellent teacher, Chemistry is a very hard subject, but he really makes it easy to understand. If you want to get an A take him.
He replaced Dr. Jaffe, but only the last month of class. I think he is very good or maybe the circunstances made him very good. I pass with A, but like always we have to study and look for all the sources that we have. For me the teacher is only the guide to study, the rest is for your own interest to learn more.
I had him just for the lab. He is a good teacher. Great sense of humor. He grades the labs to strict. If you miss on thing, he takes a lot of points off. Be very thorough on you lab forms. My class mates were some what rude and unsafe with the chemicals. He really didn't police that well enough. He is a good professor, to much work for 1 credit
I don't know what you all are thinking, but this professor is horrible. He picks his favorites by his expertise taste. He won't give you a good grade unless you plead with him. He believes he is the best, when he is wrong he tries to make an excuse of being right. He complicates the subject and the tests are hard. He is picky and judgmental.
DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER!!!!! HE HAS GOOD INTENTIONS WITH TEACHING BUT IT IS VERY HARD TO UNDERSTAND WHEN HE TALKS. HE WRITES WHAT HE IS SAYING ON THE BOARD BUT THAT IS ALSO HARD TO UNDERSTAND.
excellent teacher. If you want to get an easy B take him.Read his notes and do his home taking test and you will do find.
he is an excellent professor. i took him for lab and he was decent. he also helped me outside of class hours mostly for my lecture since i was a bit confused and lost in it. if you really want to do well and learn and if you need outside help he is willing to help!
You must take this professor for your chemistry class he is very helpful and if any difficulty you may had. He will give you an extra homework to increase your grade. This is the best professor for chemistry on BROWARD COLLEGE
nice guy, but his english is more confusing than chemistry itself, HORRIBLE PROFESSOR, hardly speaks english, confuses everyone, makes classes sooo confusing and tests are ridiculously hard, dont take him or you will regret it!!
Before taking this class, make sure to take african languages I, II and advanced african languages classes because you will be lost in his lexures if you dont.
A helpful teacher. Took him this past summer. Its hard to learn Chemistry in 6 weeks, as I can bet its hard to teach it as well. I think he did a good job. He's a decent teacher...1st test was take home, 2nd test in class, and third test in class, but not cumulative, and gives you some practice problems that were also on the test. Got an A in class
very hard to understand, he cares and tries to make class(1032) fun, but his clarity in his teaching are hard to grasp. gave midterm and final, and two take home quiz that were worth 50pts.. i would take him again.. i got a c and i'm retaking to get a better grade.
Very helpful. Accent might be a problem for some but U get use to it. Lots of free pts for HW, take home qzs, attendances, q's, and inclass suprize qzs. Pts up the ying yang. He really tries to help you pass while making sure to cover the entire syllabus. Got HW even for the last day to turn in. I was really "suffering" but he help the class.
Very helpful. Tries his best to get you to pass. Lots of extra pts. After the drop date he increases the pts for almost everything. Don't drop his class; just hang in there and do the HW and attend every class and you will be suprise. I got a B and "let's say I was a beginner in chemistry" in college. Great teacher. DON'T DROP HIS CLASS.
I have him for lab now and I can't understand anything he says! South Campus is so run down and doesn't have enough materials, it sucks. We have a lot of work for just a lab, including prelabs, lab reports, pop quizzes, midterm, and a final, all for a 1 credit class. At Central there are better professors who give a lot less work and you learn more
I have him for 1045L. He never gives back our graded prelabs and labs, which is really bad. Imagine my surprise and anger at this guy when I found out I was missing parts for a month... He has a mean attitude too!
I would not recommend him to anyone. he so disconnected from his class its pathetic. he teaches @ a fast pace, will see that the class is visible lost and keep going. when you ask a question he acts as if you should know. My grade was good compared to the majority of my classmates whom failed! DO NOT TAKE HIM!!!!!
Please Stay away!!!! Everybody except two students got a D in the mid-term, so he said he was going to help us... Well, he never helped us and I got a D like most of my classmates. He is unclear, doesn't give any extra credit and mid-term and final are worth 60% of the grade. I am a chemistry major and I love chemistry but he made me hate it!!!
This professor has a masterful command of his subject matter and teaches very well. He does his best to relate the topics covered to every day examples so that a layman can understand.I have to commend this professor on his very caring attitude and willingness to really go the extra mile to help his students understand the material. HE'S AWESOME!!!
Professor Nwanze, is very, very fair. I took this class Saturday morning it was my first college class in 15 years. He can be difficult to understand that is true, but makes it up with humor. He loves to teach.I passed with a B. He wants everyone to pass and love chemistry. As he says on the first day buckle your seatbelt he does talk fast. Enjoy!
WHO EVER WROTE THIS PROFESSOR IS AWESOME PROBABLY GOT PAID TO DO IT. HE DOESN'T CARE ABOUT HIS STUDENTS OR IF THEYRE BEHIND ONE GRL ASKED HIM TO REVIEW A QUESTION FOR THE FINAL & HE SAID NO JUST LIKE THAT. HE'S RUDE & ONLY CARES ABT FINISHING THE CHAPTERS REGARDLESS HOW BEHIND THE CLASS IS STAY FAR FAR AWAYDONT LISTEN TO THE GOOD REVIEWS THEYRE BS!
Had this guy for 1032 lab and if u want to get an F go ahead and take him. There was one guy passed his midterm and that guy told alot of people that he cheated. The rest of the class failed.
At the end of the semester only 5 students were left, everyone dropped. Please let's help make Broward a fair place for students. I'm a honor's program student and know the value or hard work, and know this guy SHOULD NOT BE TEACHING! HORRIBLE! HE SHOULD BE FIRED!
Very hard to understand. Very fast doesn't take his time to go through the formula's completely. Doesn't seem to care if you pass or fail.
IT'S TRUE, he could be hard to understand at times, due to his accent, but he is fair grading the quizzes and tests. he worked with the class to ensure everyone was gonna pass. I did session 3 with not so much time and everything was fast paced, and we aced the semester.... he is not as bad as other people say here.
EXTREMELY DIFFICULT TO UNDERSTAND DOES NOT HELP IN ANY WAY, GETS AGGRAVATED IF U ASK ANY QUESTION. BUT OVERALL GRADING IS FAIR AND FINAL IS NOT THAT HARD.
he is a awesome teacher and uses real life situations to teach his course. even if i would have felled this course it would have been solely on me for not studying hard enough but i did. if u want a great teacher choose him.
He has an accent-so what? You can understand him perfectly fine (he's very educated & pleasant). He is an awesome teacher very few are like him-he works so hard for you. He wants everyone to get it and pass. I would not hesitate to take this teacher again..he's one of the best!
Overall a great professor. He is very knowledagble about chemistry and uses great examples to help you understand. Dont get me wrong though, this is not a class that you can pass if you do not do your work or study. If u really want to learn chemisrty take him. good luck ;)
Chem is not an easy sub. Prof N was FANTASTIC. I almost didnt take him after reading his rev, but took my chances. Glad I did! These ppl are insane. He is an expert! Come to class (on time), show him respect & LISTEN = EASY A! Juggled Chm, AP2 Lec/Lab & kids over the SUMMER and got an A! Prof N will make sure you succeed, if he sees your effort!
HE'S AMAZING! :)
Great professor! Makes classs fun and easy to understand :)
Prof. Nwanze is a great teacher. I don't understand why he has such low ratings here! If you're planning to drop, DON'T. Yes, you have to do your work and study for his midterm & final, but he reviews and everything is straight from the labs. His English is good. 14-16 labs 50 points each plus a midterm and final, each 100 points. I EARNED an A.
He's the best for lab. yes, you must study because he does not give free grades! There's no way you can fail his class unless you don't do your work. Take his class. You will not regret it. A++++
Great professor! Very helpful. You need to study for mid-term and final. He pretty much tells you what is in the exams, but changes it up a little from lab book ques. Is an easy A if you study. Because of his past reviews I hesitated to take his class, but sure am glad I did. I don't understand the past negative reviews. He is great, and cares.
He is the best! Super helpful. Study guides for Midterm and Final. Do all lab homework's. He was great. Take him! I studied and got an A (:
He is by far the BEST Chemistry teacher ever! He explains everything thoroughly. He ALWAYS gives examples to help clarify the material. He ALWAYS gives test reviews which are extremely helpful and will guarantee a passing grade if you complete them. He is always on time for class. The best teacher ever! Wish he taught every subject!
i believe he was a fair professor. he let us take study guides for tests home to complete. the quizzes were straight to the point. theres no way you cound fail this class unless you dont study the material.
STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY! Seriously, this class is a joke. If you want to teach yourself ALL the material then go for it. Get ready to learn over 5 chapters in one class. He is very confusing and doesn't answer your questions. Don't bother asking questions because you will never get a straight answer from him.
I'm being VERY honest, he does not want to help you AT ALL. He gives instructions fast and only ONE time, after that your on your own. Even the simplest question he would not answer.
I did not like this professor. He wouldn't go over the tests or exams even if we asked. He has a thick accent and won't repeat himself. He marks points off for everything. Thankfully we worked in groups. I would NOT recommend unless you already have excellent knowledge in chemistry
This class was rough from the very start. The lab reports were the bad, and the sample lab report isn't much to go off of. The average lab reports were 5-7 pages long and he takes of points for the very slightest things. The test were even worst because he doesn't tell you what exactly you need to know to study. Please avoid this class :(
If you are not good in science do NOT take this class. He tries to go over 10 chapters in one class. On the finals didn't give us a study guide or narrow down what to expect. Not very helpful doesn't like to stop class to answer questions.
If you have no chemistry background, say goodbye to your gpa. He is really nice but he just isn't good at teaching. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE. I would stay away if I had the chance to go back. Wi7yat Allah
I never rate professor, but this guys is the worst Chem professor ever!!!!!!!! does not want to help during lab, seats and goes on computer and gets aggravated if you ask for help. extremely though grader on lab reports which are approximately 8 pages long. In our lab we started off around 30 at the end of the semester we were around 10 or 12
He doesn't help. He doesn't answer questions. He expects students to know everything already. A very tough grader.
Doesnt help with anything and makes the lab seem harder than the main class. I got a B in CHM1045 but the lab was a pain because of him being ridiculous looking for points to take off of anything. He'll joke around but wont help you with anything, not clear w instructions and give you harsh grades for reports you took your time to finish. AVOID !
Great professor, motivates his students to succeed in the course. Gives great example to bring the point of the lecture across and helps in remembering the subject matter. Would definitely take again!
In the summer class, he helped us a lot to get an A. Take home test, a good review for the final and lots of extra credits.
So he told us he was giving us a review on tuesday then I downloaded it and basically memorized all the questions and answers because they were too easy and when I went to the next class it turned out that it was the actual exam and my d2l account was bugged so I didnt see the notice but he didnt care and told me "theres something wrong with you"
I picked him because out of all the chem teachers I could choose at BC, he had the highest rating and they all had pretty low ratings. But trust me when I say that he isn't as bad as they say he is. Granted, he talks a little fast. Even if you don't have much experience in chemistry, don't worry. He tries to make the topic understandable.
I have an A in my chemistry lecture so far. However, in this lab I'll be lucky to get a B. Do NOT take this professor! When I asked him a question about my lab report he told me that I answered correctly. Then when he graded it he told me it was wrong and took points off. Write out ALL the equations on the lab reports. Even if they are given.
I have mix feelings about this man, he's ok and he did give help with couple of test, but at the same time he is BORING and you may not know what the heck you are going to get on a test, some of the stuff that he teaches aren't even on the test. He reads off a powerpoint thats on D2L i can do that on my own, he is alright. Would never take again
Average at best. Lectures are off the powerpoint and can be inconsistent/confusing, and does not provide reviews for tests(review consists of a pdf of some practice test with no answer key to check your answers with). May as well have taken an online class. Would not take again.
Professor Nwanze CHM1045 class is difficult but any CHM class is. Lecture will blow your mind if you're not prepared! I highly recommend taking a prep class!! Truly had to fight for a B- due to my mistakes. Get the book, review for class and study ahead. Professor Nwanze is a very CARING and funny on occasion. Give it your best and you can get an A
I enjoyed Professor Nwanzes class. He has a good sense of humor. He gives two take home tests to do at your leisure. Mastering Chemistry for extra credit, mid-term and final in class( you get the review). Extra credit for attendance, and two other extra credits. So, study for the test, attend class, complete extra credit assignments to pass with A.
I enjoyed Prof. Nwanze class. He likes when the class is engaged. He is also very funny and is caring. He wants his students to do well. Chem. is not an easy subject, but, if you read, do the mastering chem., practice and study, you will do well. He also gives a review and take home test along with extra credit. I would definitely take him again!
I Took him for lab in summer and got an A He is definitely, the worst professor I ever had. He does not know what he is doing. I not enough space to explain, but several times during lab, he explained us an exercise and when grading the report he marked it wrong (80% of the class), the ones that did not pay attention looked it online an got 100
I honestly don't get how BC has hired a person like this. He is pretty smart but does not know how to teach or help others. He wont give you study guides so you pretty much need to teach yourself because he is not available outside class either. What he talk about in class is NOTHING like the homework and the test are hell. DO NOT TAKE.
Of all the BC chem teachers I've taken and the ones I've heard about, Nwanze is probably the best. He can be confusing bc he has a thick accent and jokes around a lot but overall, I think he explains concepts pretty well. We are only graded on 4 tests and 4 quizzes and gave us extra credit.
Worst professor I ever had. His accent is very heavy and it is hard to understand him. No one ever responded to his questions in class and he didn't even care. When he explains a problem he will write half of it on the board and then talk the rest and the answer which NO ONE CAN UNDERSTAND BECAUSE OF HIS ACCENT. Don't take him!
Professor Nwanze is an okay teacher. Many people don't like him because he doesn't talk loud enough or he has a thick accent. Personally, I did well in the class because I read all of the power points and parts of the textbook. Also, I had a decent high school chem teacher. If you're not that great at chem, I wouldn't recommend him.
Honestly, take anyone else. He gives one take home test, and reviews for test, but the reviews don't come with answers so you never know where you stand. I personally read the book and it didn't help even though he goes off the book. Just memorize all the formulas.
You can pass if you cheat hard enough, good luck.
DO NOT TAKE. His accent is hard to understand, hes very disorganized in his lectures, he is not consistent ETC ETC. He gives a different method of study for every test (practice quiz/guidelines/review) which dont help much. Hes all over the place and his lectures will bore you to death. Gives some extra credit but you NEED to study to pass
He's a great professor who is nice enough to help his students. Just show that you care and he'll meet you halfway. He was nice enough to give me resources when I still couldn't understand a concept. For those who are acting immature with his accent, don't be upset about the bad grade you earned and then blame it on his accent *shrugs shoulders*
Awesome professor for a 6week course in the summer. Glad I didnt Listen to the other review. His accent is not heavy and you can understand him. Yes for the assignment he does take out the little point. Overall great teacher for the summer course. There is a final but no quiz.
Pros: Take home test, specific study guides, advance notice of in class quizzes, no homework. Cons: Has very thick accent, talks in circles, constantly going over the same things to the point where you get confused, doesnt get to all test material during classes, misleading quiz content.
if you want a teacher who can make you laugh, take him. Other than that, pass on him. His lectures didn't match his lab. He will instruct you one way and grade you another. I have never dropped and classes until i dealt with him. Beware of pop quiz and study guides for test that different from the test you taking. Great person, awful teacher
I already had Chemistry before, that why I got an A. However, during the course, I feel sorry for those who have never seen it before. If you want to learn, take a different professor. He's a lovely guy, but being honest he was the worse professor that I ever had. He's not consistent, basic lectures, hard tests, and it was hard to understand him.
He has a thick accent which makes it hard to understand what he's trying to say most of the time so you have to stay focus and he tries to be funny every now and then. Constantly repeating himself, but if you study every day you'll pass this course. He also gives reviews on the 2 tests, midterm, and final. Good Luck!
I would not recommend taking this professor's class, this was the worst professor I have ever had. I missed one test because I had a family emergency and he did not let me make up the exam. hands down the worst.
He has an EXTREMELY strong accent. I come from a family of immigrants so I'm use to accents, but out of 10 words he says I had to think about what he was saying to understand 2 of them. His lecture style is odd and deficient, heavily lacks communication and comprehension when you address him, and treats students like 5 year-olds.
Awful. If you want to teach chemistry to yourself and not have a reliable professor then take him. He does NOT teach. He just reads power points and does not care if you fully understand. He does surprise tests with no review. He also makes the worst jokes and goes off topic. I don't think I learned anything from him. Save yourself the anxiety!
Don't listen to those reviews, his accent is perfectly fine. I took him for lab and honestly he was a nice guy. He was very helpful in many aspects. One thing I would say tho is that when you ask him a question regarding ur lab report, he'll say everything is perfectly fine, but when he grades he would take point off. Overall a good professor.
His teaching style is very fast paced so be sure to always pay attention. He only has about 10 grades he puts in so really try your best. I honestly learned more by looking back at powerpoints. Please don't slack off, try your hardest at the beginning and maintain that energy thoughout the course. I wouldn't take him, but be prepared if you do.
DON'T TAKE THIS PROFESSOR! He doesn't put in grades on time, he doesn't reply to emails. and he's overall disorganized. After transitioning online due to COVID, he hasn't put in any grades and I, including other students, tried emailing him and he NEVER answered. I'm currently talking to the dean so that they could fix my grade.
Pay attention in class to get good grades on your quizzes and tests. Please pay attention.
Professor Nwanze is the best. His very kind, and caring. If you decided to pick him. You want regret it. He'll make sure you understand every topic. Be aware of pop quizzes. If all my professor in BC were like him I'll be far by now. PICK HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You'll thank me later
He is not a bad person, but he is a bad teacher. I do not recommend, he makes no announcement's on anything only in class, his lecture is just him reading the power point, the test aren't hard and some were open notes, but even than he is a weird grader and it doesn't make sense. I do no recommend taking him at all.
I have never had such a bad experience with a professor at Broward College. He is by far the worst professor I have ever seen in my life! My class was virtual. He did not even once give a lecture to the class explaining the experiments we were learning about. He made us watch youtube videos on our own time and expected us to learn that way.
Where do I start? I can't believe they only give 350 characters to write a review. To sum it all up, if you actually want to learn something take a professor who cares about his students future instead of laughing at you when you ask for help. Disrespectful, uncaring, doesn't reply to email, beats around the bush when confronted in class.
Professor Obiajulu was okay and average. I did not really like or dislike his class because we mostly watched videos of other professors' experiments he graded. So he mostly did nothing. Also, he has an accent. He had terrible communication with me and my classmates and also took off points for nonsense reasons. Would not recommend him to others.
He was so easy. Nothing was proctored. We submitted tests via email word document. And he curves grades if you send a nice little email. His accent is thick but youll get use to it quickly.
