Routinely late for class (15-20 min); disorganized; biased grading system; not helpful in labs or lecture; planned semester extremely poorly and students suffered because of it.
I found Ms. Bailey to be very helpful, open to questions and available after class for additional help. The subject matter was difficult, but her friendliness coupled with her willingness to help allowed me to do well.
Ms. Bailey is late for class a lot. But she is extremely helpful if you ASK for help. The rumors of her being very difficult need to stop. I took the class in the summer and got a B, there is no reason why this is not able to be done during the regular semester. Just my two cents. This class isn't easy at any school. Get over it!

She is extremely demanding. Starts off slow and piles everything up at the end of semester. I mean 3-4 tests the last week of classes, BUT I definately learned in her class. I brought everything I learned with me.

Always late, talks in a drone voice, unclear, redundant, talks about things that have nothing to do with the actual topic, unorganized, bad planner. I am learning the same things I learned in highschool. This woman should not be teaching.
she is unoragnized in everything, from tardiness to explaining herself. I love bio but she makes this class a nightmare for me. It takes her 2 hours on the first day to explain her syllabus. when teaching she jumps back and forth from one subject to another.

omigosh! horrible exp.! i admit i did learned alot but her tests was made to fail students and its nothing we learned! i had to end up dropping her course the last minute =(
she is not as bad as everyone claims she is. she lets you replace a test with a take home test. if you happen to end up in her class, the best ways to do well is to follow her notes, do the practice test she hands out, and ESPECIALLY do the problems in the study guide book.

Maybe its because I took the class in the summer but I think she is the toughest teacher in the biology department. If you see her as a teacher RUN AWAY! She gave 4 exams in the final week of class!! However, I did enjoy the bag of candy she gave out at the end of the semester.:-)
I had to drop her class cause her tests were "UNPASSable" and maybe thats why 20 other people dropped the class also!!
I had to drop her class she make her test too hard for you to pass she thinks she is prepearing you for the state exam for nurses if you have her drop I have been there out of 20 there is about 10 students left.
Appears to be a nice lady, she does not help u in lab no one else can either and her test are very difficult. never on time for class
Tests were extremely challenging. Less than 1/2 the class actually completed the course. Most of the students that did finish already had college degrees, which I think placed them at an advantage in this course. Ms. Bailey is no joke, she will challenge you so if you are not up to the challenge or do not have the time to commit 100 %, drop class.
THE WORST EVER. Always late. Always give test scores back very late. No test results, only grade % given. Acts friendly but is not. No privacy when completing end of semester class survey & she collects them. Always behind schedule. Rushes at the end. > half class drops. Be prepared to fail or get very low grades if u decide to stay in her class.
She will challenge you! Those who stated that her tests were hard need to seriously get over it. If you're looking for someone easy, go somewhere else and frankly, if you're going into the medical field, classes should be challenging like hers, not simple. The text is pointless, just record her lectures and labs, study them well and you'll pass.
I am an Ivy grad, & super smart. Better be ready for a challenging course, where time, hard work and commitment were needed to pass successfully. None of us are kidding. We're all smart people and barely passed with high grades. Poor teacher, late, disorganized, and never gets tests back to you. You will teach yourself mostly. Sucks as a teacher.
THIS CLASS IS HARD! Outside help is not really an option and asking her questions during class is not recommended. She is very difficult. Always late to class, rushes at the end of the semster. She is quite intelligent and knows the material. If you want to get thorough knowledge of the subject take her. If you want a GPA booster DON'T!

Worst teacher I ever had! She is very inapproachable. I hated her teaching style.
Although many people may say she is a bad teacher, she is not. She is a very challenging teacher who pushes her student to realize their potential. If you study hard, you will pass her class. It is true though that near the end of the semester, only half the class will still be there.

I think a key to remember when reading her ratings is that she seems to have extreme biases towards students. Pass and fail is based more on whether she likes you rather than what you know. And I got an A here, so I'm not just ranting. She is a VERY poor teacher! Late, disorganized, and does not properly prepare students for tests.
I am not a stupid person. dr. bailey is clearly not fair in her grading and judging her studentsd. If she likes you , you will pass. She is trying to keep people out of nursing school. The material is not that hard, she makes it harder than it has to be. I know of other really stupid students who have passed mirco as long as it wasn't Ola.
Ola bailey is a dream killer. she has managed to delay another hopeful nursing student from nursing school. i will have to delay my application another year thanks to her. she is a horrible teacher. totally unperpared for class. Why does she still have a job?
Always 15-20 mins late EVERY DAY, even more than an hour late to the day of the FINAL. She also teaches NEW material immediately before taking the exam (the day of). Biased grading. In last 10 days, had lab final, exam, take home exam, then final. The final had all new self-taught material. Review packet was useless. Bottom line: dont take her!
Terrible!! PLEASE do yourself a favor and register for a different class. The other people on here are right; BIASED grading! She's boring, unorganized, late, unfair, and not exactly the picture of health. Not to mention, she doesn't speak English well, can't get her self to class on time EVER, and wears the same clothes every week. good luck..
In the history of my entire education I can honestly say I have never had a worst teacher then Ola Bailey. She is just terrible. She has the ability to make you doubt yourself. Before taking her class I had my heart set on nursing as my major. She made me think I couldn't and I actually ended up changing majors for a semester.I blame her entirely!

I have to agree, late, unorganized, bias, degrading and unwilling to help. I attempted to meet her a couple of times outside of class time and she was several hours late. Biology is her life and she thinks it should be everyones! Run...

My advice to any one of her prospective students is beware. If possible do not take her. She gets joy from failing people. She has no life so there for lives through biology. Her preparations for tests are useless, and she does not follow it.
Ola is a very organized teacher. It is for that reason that I got an A in her class. She gives you all the notes so DON'T BUY the TEXTBOOK! The only problem is that there is a LOT of information and she talks really SLOW so it is boring. But if you come to class, take notes with the notes she gives you, you will do fine. Lots of extra credit!

I had Ola Bailey for Micro the Fall 1988. My last prereq before my nursing program. Started with 28, ended with 5. There were only two courses of my acedemic career that challenged me, Business Statistics (LaSalle), and Prof. Bailey's Microbiology. 20 years later, I still know my microbiology.
She really does not deserve to be teaching! Somebody should definetly look into the fact that she is absolutely horrible at her job. I mean seriously Bailey you belong in like a lab somewhere not a classroom, thats for sure!

I agree that Bailey's teaching methods are different but if you take notes and study you can pass her class with a grade higher than a C. I had this teacher for biology 109 and i must admit that her class is hard. Do not expect an easy A at all. She is always late to class, 15 to 20 minutes every class session. UNORGANIZED. Do not return the test results in reasonable time. Her lecture is understandable but lots of stuff is not on the test. Expect to STUDY A LOT!

I am currently taking her class and I feel that it is impossible to pass. I study so hard and it just doesn't help. I'm considering retaking this class Fall semester. She is always late. I think that this professor gets off on people not being able to pass her class. She is EXTREMELY HARD. The test is so long and hard that she adds an additional 1/2 hour past class time while taking the test (I'm not sure if she's supposed to do that). I Took notes, studied the handouts, but still cannot get higher than a C! I need a miracle!
If you take notes and study you'll be fine. I mean she gives practice tests and drops your lowest test grade. What else do you want?
It is possible to succeed, though she doesn't make it easy. This teacher is very disorganized. She's been teaching this class for a long time and still spends too much time on unit one. We had 4 tests in the last week (last test, a take home test and the final were all on the last class day). Lecture for the last unit was done in 30 min.
RUN! I have never had such a bad teacher. I knew she was hard going into it so I studied extra & barely passed, with a C. She gives a take home don't count on that helping it took me 4 days 8 hours a day straight to do, Bc of this I barely had time to study for the final. Bc I spent so much time trying to pass this class my other classes suffered
This Professor isn't bad at all. Yes, this class is challenging in the beginning but you can pass with a decent grade if you push yourself to your full potential. She challenges you to learn all you can. All these comments about run are a disgrace. All in all, I believe that she is the best professor ever and I gained alot of knowledge from her.
I agree with everyone else, if you can avoid her, DO SO. The school is making money off of her, therefore, they will not get rid of her.
She offers no help. She says constantly "ask me anything" but when you ask her a relevant question she rolls her eyes at you and makes a spectacle of you in front of the class. I'm a great student and had a 3.9 before this class; I'll be shocked if I make it out with a B. I didn't start an adult education to be treated like a child; its insulting.
This is the WORST professor I've had the displeasure to ever experience in my entire college career. She enjoys watching students fail. I would not recommend taking her. I had 4.0 GPA before taking her and now I can barely passing even using every free munite of my day studying the material. Drop her immediately if you have her.
Do NOT take her! She will tell you that if you study hard you may pass the class but that is NOT true. I spent every free minute studying and still di not pass. I am a 4.0 student until encountered her!
She is the most hypocritical, horrible professor I've ever had. She does not give you credit/takes off points for mispelled words yet she mispells the same words on the test and when you approach her about it she ignores you. She says spelling is important yet she does not follow her own rules. She also does not let you go over the tests to see
Watch out for this professor!! She gives you essay questions worth like 18 points each but when she grades she'll deduct more then what is on the paper?!? You really have to keep track of your grade well cause she'll fail your test even though you didn't.
I've gotten an A in this class. If you go to class, listen to her, and write down EVERYTHING she writes on the board you will be fine! She keeps things interesting and is pretty funny. I've read a lot about Ms. Bailey both before and after I took her Micro class. She's an excellent teacher... but her tests ARE difficult. I don't know about the one person who spent 32 hours on the takehome... I took me five hours total (with the help of Google, of course). It's a difficult class to get, so if you get her be prepared to sutdy hard!
I went to every class and lab, took notes, studied hard and worried a LOT! But I received an A. Ms. Bailey tests are difficult because she often tests on concepts. I would not recommend her, but I would also not tell anyone to drop her.It's HARD, but with effort you CAN get a "B"; with greater effort an "A". She IS a nice person just a hard teacher
Know the handouts. My first test I spent more time reading the text book and failed. After that I spent most of the time understaining the handouts. I got a B in this class and I am happy with it. Go to every class b/c what she says in class will be on the test. She gives alot of extra credit on every test. Again, make sure you know the handouts.
Despite the scathing reviews I read and rumors about Professor Bailey, I really enjoyed her. You can tell during her lectures that she is passionate about the subject matter and wants students to really digest the material vs. memorizing & regurgitating on exams. I would recommend this teach if you want to actually learn something, not just pass.
I have heard many rumors in regards to Ms. Bailey. I had this teacher for Anatomy in 1996. We had a test on 4 chapter. The test covered bones, tissue, cells, chemistry. I dropped the course because I found it frustrating. She was just as disrogranized in 1996 as 2010. The worst part is you can complain to the dean and Department Head---NOTHING
Awful teacher!! Did not seem like she liked teaching. Seems to me like she is sick of it!! I am a high A student and I love a challenge but for me to sit through a class for and hour and 50 minutes with her going on and on about NOTHING!!! Then with my brain numb you expect me to process anything??? I am better than that!
If you want an easy, lay back class or professor then this class is not for you. Be prepare to study and work very hard for your grade but at the end of the class you can truly say that i know micro. I think Ms. Bailey truly love teaching, she's just set in her ways, almost OCD.

She enjoys what she teaches and constently encourages students to come to her for help. She also gives handouts with information you'll need later if you persuing a health carear. Overall good teacher

I'll admit I was tempted to drop her class from the very beginning...extremely hard tests. Failed the 1st one, then averaged C's after that. But at the end, the tests get easier and I ended up with a B overall (not too bad.) Study hard, if I can do it, you can do it!!
She is absolutely horrible visual learners BEWARE!!! Any professor, who tells her students 50% of you will FAIL THIS ClASS, in the beginning of the semester definately has an agenda against her students. As for the losers who say she's a "Good Professor," you represent a small percentage of those who passed her class. The Majority who didn"t.
Professor Bailey loves microbiology as demonstrated in the great effort she takes in teaching it to her students. Unfortunately for me, I had a difficult time in her class--not because of her, but because I was unprepared for that level of biology. Study and apply at each level and you'll be fine. Stop blaming! I thought Ms. Bailey was an excellent professor. At the beginning of the semester she explained in detail what she expected from each student. She also made herself available if a student needed help. She is not an easy A but she is thorough. If you fail this course it is because you didn't utilize her a a resource.
This woman should not be teaching. She would tell us specifically that material wouldn't be on the test and then test us on it. Her notes haven't been updated in 8 years minimum and she is rude and condescending when she answers questions. I got higher than 100 in her class and still feel that I know very little micro and none as a result of her.
i don't like her, becouse all of my time in her class i consider it as it was wasted; why, first she use diffrent book(than what we had) second, she dosn't care, about the teacheing or you. poor that is all i can say about her. be awair

Her lacture is poor, she say things that dose not make since, she give exam that wasn't on her lacture or the book, poor in lab. i feels thut so betrayed by her; in this economy it is not easy to pay $800+ to pay and for her to play with our mind that is not fair; god.
Ms. Bailey?s class is not easy. You must plan on spending a lot of time each week studying for this class, about 8 hrs per wk. It?s not possible to do well in her class without putting in a lot of effort. People who thought they would come in and just breeze through the course got a rude awakening, most of the class that started didn?t make it.

If you have Bailey, do yourself a favor and drop her class NOW before it's too late. She is horrible, seriously. Each semester more than half of the students end up dropping or failing. MANY complaints were put in but all of them were disregarded because of her "seniority." She's the worst.
Terreble! Her labs are a mess! if you are not in to writing essays as part of your exmas DON'T take her class! very condescending when it comes to help estudents and terrible grading system.
I thought she was a very good professor. She really knows her subject and does a good job explaining it. She is very fair with her exams and grading. She has a good sense of humor and makes the class interesting.

This was the hardest class I ever took at CCP, but having to take it with Ola Bailey made the worst experience. Ola Bailey is a great professor. She teaches Anatomy...of course it's gonna be hard! She gives really good notes and explains everything. Also a week before each exam she give review sheets to help you study. You have to dedicate a lot of time for this class and study hard. She's really not as bad as everyone is making her seem!
Bailey is filled with knowledge but doesn't know how to translate it to students. She gives you review sheets before tests but none of the questions are on test. all her test are worth atleast 150 pts and her grading system is design in a way its hard to get a B no partial pts. book wasn't used but i suggest you read read read study study study
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS INSTRUTOR. SHE WAS EXTREMELY PRECISE AND PASSIONATE ABOUT BIOLOGY AND EAGER TO REINFORCE THE LESSON ON HER OWN TIME.
Ms. Bailey = great communicator who puts ideas forth in a clear & audible manner using everyday analogies to Xplain complex concepts. Lecture outlines isolate info to focus on, she discusses every short answer question that appears on test, she gives you review sheet 1week b4 test. What more do you want? People that complain are lazy and/or dumb.
Not an easy "A." Actually, I don't think many people pass with an "A." Ms. Bailey's class is HARD, but I learned so much from her. I enjoyed her class because she's passionate about her work and will do whatever she can to help her students. But she expects you to work your bum off.

Bailey is a nice woman who is very passionate about microbiology but she is not the best teacher. I would not recommend taking her, especially in the summer.
The prof. cares about the subject. Took class in the summer, it was only 7 weeks long & we were shorted a class. The prof spent too much of our limited time on info that was not tested. Her handouts had about 85% of the info. She rushed through important info. She was often late for class and kept us late, hard to understand. I do not recommend.
Her lectures are hard to follow at times, as she rambles and mispronounces words. And she's chronically late. Also, she's a brutally tough grader. Still, not the worst ever, and she obviously cares about and knows the material.
I have never been in a class where a teacher is so unorganized, and spends way too much time on unnecessary material. PLEASE DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS!! I WAS STRESSED ALL SEMESTER! If you want to keep your GPA in good standing, find another teacher IMMEDIATELY!
We got terribly behind doing bio 106 stuff. We didn't even move on to actual anatomy material until the class was half over. Never even opened the textbook. Half of our grade was still outstanding going into the final week of the course. We had 2 lecture exams, a lab final and the course final in 8 days. We spent 20 minutes on the last 3 systems.
DO NOT DO IT...I am working on my second degree and have had many learning experiences at this point, the was the WORST by far. I am so discouraged after taking this class.
DO NOT TAKE HER IF YOU CAN AVOID IT. She tells stories about students who dropped and had to adjust their education plan because of her, I was one of them. After withdrawing her class because I failed the first 2 tests (with GPA 3.69)... I retook the class in Summer and received an A. She is slow with lecture and has 50% drop rate. beware.
She is nice, knows the subject, tough grader, slow (in giving out papers and going over material), and is willing to help. PAY ATTENTION because she doesn't like to repeat herself, esp things on exams. Exams were on what she lectured, extra credit and sometimes questions on stuff she glossed over. STUDY HARD, take notes and you will be fine.
Horrible! Ola Bailey is the worst professor I have ever taken. She's sarcastic and rude. She doesn't like to answer questions and she talks in circles. she hands out a lecture summary 4 chapters they r hard 2 understand. read chapters ahead of time not at the pase she goes becuse at the end she piles every thing on at once.she gives a take home test at the end that she replaces that grade with your lowest lecture exam but it is hard.use weekend and other days off to study because u will need it.
i dropped the course after three days. on the first day, an hour and half class, she took the WHOLE time to go over the syllabus. a two page syllabus. on the second day, she showed us how to "enter the lab" including, "walk in, but you bag down" I graduated form temple, took classes at la salle and bloom. never encountered someone like her.

Do not take this class in the summer, too much info for 7 weeks. Other than that Professor Bailey was interesting and available if the students needed help. She believes in using all of her allotted time and has many stories to tell. I must admit that I was struggling in the beginning but me passing this class depended on me and my effort.
Do not take her. She is always late to class, she comes unprepared. She tells pointless stories in in class. Her test are very hard, she takes off for spelling and if you dont phrase your essay answers the way she wants it. This is the worst class ive ever taken. She doesnt go by the book,. Dont take her. Taught us 1)straight people have anal & 2)they get "gay" diseases this way. (NOT joking!) Bailey is a doozy. She is strange but passionate. I disliked her at start of semester bc she went through the notes VERY SLOWLY. We spent a whole period going over the syllabus. I liked her more eventually--she is mostly fair but wants you to word answers exactly as she says during lecture. Shows gross STD pics in class, lol.
This class is the worst. I cant wait to be done with this class. Professor Bailey is nice but her test are the worst. The information on the handouts are not on the test. She doesn't speak clearly.I don't even know what material to study for her test. This class is making me lose my mind Her handouts are useless. Someone help me I have to pass.
Just horrendous. Prof. Bailey manages to be painfully slow and angrily impatient at the same time. Doesn't prepare you for exams, then yells at the entire class for failing those exams... I have a 3.5 BA from a real university and I couldn't get above a D on her exams. I dropped because it was too painful to endure.

Prof. Bailey is very passionate in her teachings and she goes through her notes slowly to make sure everything is covered. Her tests might seem hard at first but if you just pay close attention to her lectures and study your notes you will do fine. I recommend recording the lectures if you want to do well on her short answers.
I took this class in the summer and got an A. This not an easy class no matter the teacher. Pros: I think she is hilarious, and she is very nice as long as you are respectful. You can get extra credit for each test, and you can replace your lowest chapter test with a take home. Also, I did not buy the book. Cons: she talks very very slowly.

Are we talking about the same professor? It can't be because Bailey is one of the best professors period. 1- extra credit to be had 2- she is always gives you a handout(TEST PREVIEW) 3- she is very laid back about textbooks, homework, lateness 4- clear instruction 5- she really cares respect her, watch A&P youtube vids, and score an easy A or B!
Stupid person without teaching skill is wrongly put at the Microbiology teacher because students will be broken all knowlege about this subject when they get into her class. At first, she teaches very slowly with 3 chapters in 2 months (3 and 12 months for whole semester) because she is afraid that students will drop her class. After first 2 month
If you have registered for her classes, drop they immediately because you won't learn everything from her classes instead of frustrated. This person is so stupid. Bailey is very knowledgeable and loves what she teaches. She has a ton of handouts that she lectures from but supplements them with chalkboard notes. If you go to class, pay attention, take her chalkboard notes, there is no reason to fail. She is willing to help you on an individual level and offers extra credit on every test.
If you take Ola Bailey class, you will face with a stupid person with a messing way in the lecture. Ola Bailey is a worst teacher for every student who want to learn and improve knowledge in any Biology course because she has no idea how to teach. This means that Ola Bailey is not enough knowledge to be a teacher. Drop or change to other teachers!
She is not helpful at all, when you ask her a question she would tell you to go home and read the book or notes instead of helping you to clarify what you do not understand. She is not clear with her class policy. Her teaching method is very confused.

Ola, Ola, Ola! Where do I start? She is a passionate teacher but rambles on. The lectures are torture but she points out and goes over everything that is going to be on the test so. Take good notes, study the handouts she gives. People give her a hard time but if you do the work you will pass. She gives out a lot of extra credit but not an easy A.
Ola Bailey lectures her materials in conjunction with a specialized handout that she prepares to target your studies upon certain areas of specific interest. Students can associate exam material with the stories she tells to establish connections. Take active notes, EVEN in lab!!! Great teacher. Listen and study your notes. She's funny, too.
Run. She does not teach out of the book so don't expect her to provide a course outline. Don't expect a good answer to any of your questions. Its better to ask someone else because she will spend 10 minutes not answering your question. She also doesn't no provide a date for your exams.
Bailey will give you hand outs she wrote from 1995. She's quite old and her teaching style reflects that. She speaks slowly, writes in only cursive, and gives long lectures. Her labs are conducted with no organization, so please read ahead and ask other students for help. Buying the book is not mandatory, she doesn't use it, but will be helpful.
Terrible professor, maybe the worst I've ever had. Completely unengaging. Bailey hands out a lecture outline and doesn't elaborate much on it, reschedules exams multiple times, writes exams with material that she didn't cover in class, and is a harsh grader on written portions of exams.
Bailey is very smart but does not know how to explain the material. She doesn't understand your questions and cannot answer them properly. She teaches VERY unorganized. A lot of material (but that's expected in any Anat course) but you HAVE TO STUDY or you won't pass. Luckily I have a good memory, passed with a B but with no help from professor.
She was unorganized and unprofessional. She would often leave our lectures in the for 15 to 45 minutes because material she forgot. She often forgot what she had taught us the previous class, and would repeat her lessons. Her grading criteria is never clear and she spends minimal energy teaching pre-printed notes. 23 out of 30 students dropped.
Do no take any class with her. Ever. Not worth a penny of your money. Nor any effort of yours. Everything everyone has said below is true. She is unprofessional. I contacted the head of the department regarding her failures and the situation was handled SO POORLY. She has been behaving this way for years and nothing has been down about it. Terrible
She is disorganized and forgets what she says the day before, and fails to provide basic things like a lab syllabus. When you inquire about forgotten items, she gets annoyed. She likes to talk fast to intimidate her students, and rarely answers questions directly. She's very knowledgeable, but intelligence alone does not make a good professor.
Took the condensed summer course - I work 60+ hours a week and had't taken a college course in over 10 yrs. I paid attention in class, took a lot of notes & studied her prepared handouts. Take notes in lab! I missed one class/test/lab, due to a med. em. (I was pregnant at the time) & she was really understanding. Seems like A&P taken before helps.
Tough grader on written part of the tests. Gives a take home exam at the end of the semester and lets you drop your lowest grade. Class was awful but she was a merciful grader in the end.

I am a straight A student when it comes to sciences, but Prof. Bailey is a sad excuse for a professor. She gives extremely difficult exams and teaches extremely slow. She is boring and she gets mad when you ask questions. Always half an hour late for class and gave us a lab final a month before finals week with only one week notice. Please do NOT.
She's a great teacher and gives you options to help you do better in her class.
She is bluntly honest, and can be taken in as RUDE. She is not responsive with email so do not bother. YOU MUST READ YOUR LECTURE SUMMARY, AND TAKE ALL THE NOTES YOU CAN AS SHE REVIEWS THEM. Almost all her drawings are open ended essay questions on tests.
She's a great professional.. Come to class take good notes (READ Your Notes!!!!) listen carefully to the lecture, you'll do just fine. Test is on the material she went over in lecture. She gives a lot of diagrams to label and short ended answers questions on test. Professor Bailey test scoring is really FAIR. I enjoyed her class!! Will take again.
Ms. Bailey's course is designed to weed out people who will struggle in the Medical field. She can be intimidating, so think twice before asking questions. She is nicer to people who are doing well in the course. Her exams are tricky you must "read between the lines" and listen during lecture, if you want to get credit for short answers. Work Hard!
This class is ridiculously hard for no reason. The material isnt hard, but the teaching style is. The book is not helpful. She uses handouts that she has been revising since 1999 (seriously). I got an A because Prof Bailey set clear expectations. She is an old-school teacher leading an old-school style class- no shortcuts. You really have to budget the time, read the book, take notes, study HARD before exams, & endure the excruciatingly slow pace of labs. She supports you if you appear to be trying. 1 of my fave teachers. I learned!
Ola Bailey aka OSM Bailey teaches with an older style. Her handouts date back to the nineties and can be illegible at times. She boasts her role in the department and tries to reinforce her presence within the education system. She thought it would be wise to compare my behavior to current politics. She doesn't deserve a presence at CCP.
Shes really interested in the topic she teaches but she goes too fast, she wont help you if you ask for help. Her class was extremely hard from the way she goes through the topics. I wouldnt take her class ever again. Make sure you study hard B/c if not youre failing
Never clarifies what she wants, rambles off topic during lectures constantly, never owns up to her mistakes and can be very disorganized. She'll come into class at the time it starts and leave back out because she forgot something. However the material is easy but she grades hard. Will mark a question wrong even if you only made one minor mistake.
Hands down the worst professor I've ever had. She shows up late to class frequently and does not appreciate questions. I had to miss a class for a wedding out of town, let her know weeks in advance and asked if there was anything I needed to make up. I return the following class to find out we have an EXAM that day. Avoid if possible!!
Not sure why people say she is so bad. As long as you take the time to come to class, write down what she says, and know the lecture sum and review guide your fine for her test. Cumulative final has three chapters that you don't go over aside from a take home where you never find out the right answers.
Do not take this Professor for any course. She is unethical, unprofessional, unwilling to provide clarity or answer reasonable questions. She is unwilling to fit the exams within the time frame of class, allowing for unfair advantages for students who can arrive early and stay late. She emphasizes hand-outs and review sheets, but it doesnt help.
Ola Bailey is not as BAD as everyone says. She's just difficult and teaches as if she is teaching students who are in med school already. You have to take notes with every single thing she says because she likes to give review sheets with not all of that information on the exam, but what she said and elaborated on. She is also a tough grader. STUDY
Doesn't use powerpoints,only writes on the board so you better take notes because you will fail if you don't. She isn't that great of a teacher as her explanations are pretty unclear & and she also doesn't answer your question directly. But I will say one thing I like about her is that she gives take home exams when she see's the class is failing.
Avoid this professor at all costs. I unfortunately signed up for this class when the professor was TBA. I ended up with Bailey. The class is already hard enough. She makes it worse. She puts you on the spot and tries to embarrass you when you ask a question. So many students from both of her sections complained about her to the department head.

Terrible! I tend not to be judgemental about a professor, but it's bad!! Information all over the place. Ended up teaching myself, using YouTube the majority of the time. This should not be acceptable by CCP. We pay for classes to end up having to teach myself? I strongly recommend to choose another prof. CCP have good ones, but Mrs Bailey is not
Horrible semester. She dismisses questions and is rude if you have questions. She talks painfully slow. Is a nice person but horrid teacher. She couldn't figure out Canvas when the pandemic hit so another teacher had to take over. How is this acceptable by CCP?!!

She was the worst professor ever. She was vague about any questions asked & actually got aggravated. Would specify what test would cover & she would test on things we didn't cover yet. Was in class with all future nurses & 2 parametics. Everyone got a D, except for 2. Formally complained to administration, didn't go anywhere. We all had to repeat.
I literally just dropped her class, like 10 mins ago. I wish I came here to see the reviews. I was so confused. The class was meant to be in person, but because of COVID, the first 4 weeks are online. And it was a nightmare. It was like she didn't know what she was doing. Very disorganized too. Everything was all over the place. DON'T TAKE HER!
First 4 weeks was hell online. She even taught through the zoom chat box because her sound on the laptop was not working. I was to through with that! She never answers your questions but instead ask you another? She is a lovely woman and ironically has a sense of humor. Unfortunately, it doesn't help her teaching or lecture����
NO WORDS JUST AWFUL!!!! However, she is a nice person but teaching was horrible. She would give test and quizzes on things we never learned or went over in class.
Before I took the class, I came on here to read the reviews and got really nervous seeing what everyone had to say. Now that Ive taken the class, you just have to pay attention in lecture. A lot of test questions are from the quizzes, which are open book. Easy to pass if you pay attention and actually study. She tells you whats on the test.
Professor Bailey is very kind you can tell she really cares about the subject she is teaching. Make sure to pay attention and take note of everything (literally). She is a difficult professor, but you will do well in this class if you prioritize studying the lecture summary, PowerPoints, and sheet handouts. Good luck!

Professor Bailey's class is challenging, but if you stay engaged, take detailed notes, and use resources like Unstuck ai for study prep, you can do well. The tests focus on lecture material, so prioritize attending class.
Don't be a "give this professor a chance she is incredibly disrespectful and one the first day of class called a student annoying for asking a question.She tested us for DNA which we didn't learn until two weeks later and acted like we should have prepare.If 33/36 students failed an exam that says that's the teacher not the student. save your money
Worst professor I have ever encountered in my five years in higher education. Trick to her tests is memorizing the answers to the practice tests--the real thing is identical. Hates answering questions. Plays the race card when students say she's an awful teacher. Tells weird anecdotes. Even advisor admitted they don't know how she's still at CCP.
I am still taking her class and people say don't judge so quickly but there was no need for that phrase usage. She needs to be retired asap! She's so hard of hearing. Forget all the good reviews bc they're not true at all! Notes she assigns don't align with the slideshows. Doesn't reviews for upcoming exams with class. 4 ppl already dropped class.
The worst professor I have ever had. She's no help at all, the labs weren't bad but her lectures were, she will not help you retain the information, she'll give exams every week or so but there would be stuff that she didn't have in the lecture. 7 people dropped her class, choose a different professor.
Not a good professor at all for teaching! Especially if you have been out of school for a while. Even the students that were in high school and just got out find her to be disrespectful and arrogant. She's all over the place with her lessons. I was told that I need to take my F or withdraw from her class by her. This was a waste of time and money!
This professor is so tough, I strongly do not recommend. Her grading system is terrible, she talks over you , she does not reply your question. she gives so many practice quizzes but none of the question are on the actual quiz. She does not teach some stuff but they will show up on your exams. DO NOT TAKE HER !!!!!! WARNED YOU
Professor Bailey's teaching style was very confusing and it was difficult to communicate clearly with her throughout the course. She only uses paper for assignments and doesn't update grades until the very end of the semester. She is also very contradictory if you need help with labs or assignments during class and will leave you without answers.
