He is really hard to understand at times. He is also very knowledgable on the subject matter, so he gets off on tangents a lot; they are hard to follow and he does include them in test!!
cannot understand him
He is hard to understand, yes...but at least he Takes the time to re-lecture points that the class does not get. He always asked if we understood and I liked that. Unlike other profs, he would stop and let us ask ?
He is very knowledgeable, but it's very hard to understand what he is talking about.Tends to go off the subject a lot. Yells at the class when they did horrible on the first tests & takes things too personal.
I had to drop out of his class because I could not understand him.
Cannot understand a word the guy says!!!!
Gazal is very knowledgable and does really care about his students. He gets a bad reputation because the class is very difficult. He does teach it to the best of his ability. He has always helped me if I needed it.
he lacked teaching ability
Gazal is the worst professor I have ever had. I have never, ever been so disgusted in my life. I reported him to the chair of the department who did absolutely nothing to address the situation.
do not take class with him!
My advice to everyone is to avoid Dr. Gazal the best that you can. If you want a good grade in his class your life has to revolve around it. The only way I passed is by the extra credit points he gives when the average score on a test is a F.
dr. gazal himself is hard to understand, yes, but he always asks if you understand the material and is willing to repeat things. however if he repeats himself for nothing (people failing quizzes and tests) he gets very frustrated. offers bonus points for attendance in lecture and lab often.
he is sooooo hard to understand it's horrible. take bio with a different professor if you wanna a decent grade. tests are hard and he doesn't curve them
He doesn't know what he is teaching. He is hard to understand and he shouldn't have a auditorium class. Hard grader, no curve!!! NO extra credit!!
Terrible teacher. Needs to improve on his speech. CAnnot understand his accent. Lack teaching skills. Avoid his class at all means.
Gazal needs to take some speech classes so we can understand him. He is a very hard grader, and gets upset if you ask questions and slow his teaching down. If you can avoid him i suggest you do, but if your nursing major, get on his good side early on and you will be fine
Yes, get on his good side. I did, and I enjoyed him. Going to see him afte class to ask him questions goes well with him. He thinks that you tries more when you do that. Go to class and study for the stupid quizes and you will be fine. He is not the best, but far from the worst.
Gazal is a GREAT teacher! He is making bio so much easier for mr this semester ( so far ). He explains material very well
Gazal is extremely hard to understand. He doesn't not like questions being asked during lecture and he make you feel stupid when you do ask question. if you have to take A and P I recommend taking it at the tech college. I went from a D to an A grade. That says something for there style of teaching!
He is very smart you just cant understand him, if he spoke better english he would be a great teacher, he goes kind of fast, if you need to take A and P try to get another teacher.

great teacher and helpful!
I hated him. I could not understand him and his tests were impossible. If you need physiology you will have him.

He is horrible. It's not even his accent either. He is simply a jerk. He doesn't care about his students. He once gave my class 2 quizzes in one day because some students left his lecture early!
you would think that the college would want a professor that TAUGHT the students new things. he just wants to show off how smart he is and i think he enjoys watching everyone fail. he's way too hard to understand and he's not helpful at all. he makes you feel stupid when asking questions.
Glad we handed in all those labs and NEVER got any of them back. Very disorganized person. Late for class often (guess we're not important enough). Very vague, repeats the simplest things, let's the stuff that will be on the exam fly by so not one person understands.
I second that. He really didn't seem to care about teaching our class until like 2 weeks before the end of the semester. Nice guy just maybe overly stressed and needs to teach fewer classes...Don't take this class unless you have lots of free time to study!!!!
Always on time to class and explained things in depth, but sometimes a little too in-depth. All of his notes were online so if you missed class you could just get them on there. Occassionaly gave bonus points for showing up to class! Awesome professor!
Dr Gazal is a great teacher. He really knows his stuff. Sometimes things are confusing but if you just ask for clarification he is more than happy to explain. If you can't understand his accent he will write words on the board or spell them so you know what he is talking about. Really enjoyed him as a teacher but the class had way too much info.
He really cares about how his students do. I like him as a prof and you can tell that he loves teaching. He is challenging, so be prepared to work and learn about hormones, but it should pay off in the end. He also gives extra credit points on all of the tests to help make up for the hardness of the class.
hard but great teacher, really smart, helpful, cares about student
Awesome Professor- very in depth but extremely knowledgable- learn A TON- hard but I got a 96% A in 202 and I'll probably get a 97-98 in 204 so not impossible. Very approachable- rough accent but if you listen and don't complain constantly you can understand him fine. Really cares about his students. Highly recommend any class with him!
It doesn't matter what else anyone says he is not a good teacher. Even my lab TA said when she was going over the slides for class that she has taken at the 400 level and they didn't go as in depth as he expected us to. He also has very bad time managment skills. He can never get through a lecture when he and still expects you to know the material.
Hard to accent understand but he's very passionate about what he teaches and wants you to understand. He's always willing to help and he's a really nice guy!
Hes a tough professor. But if you go to class everyday and do the homework you should be fine. His best quality is that he will do whatever it takes to help his students figure the material out.
It's hard to rate professors for this class because it is down right hard. Gazal is difficult to understand at first, but you get used to it. Very much wants students to understand concepts, but like I said there's so much information to cover that it's just hard in general. He's got a great heart, one of the better BIO professors I think.
VERY CHALLENGING! Hardest class I have ever taken but one of the best profs to have instructed it. He is very strait forward about the difficulty of his tests, so it's not like he doesn't tell you whats coming. Very hard tests, need to study like crazy on both the notes and from the book. You need to develop a very indepth understanding of the text
He is a very helpful teacher. I would recommend taking him.
Very hard. He is easy to get along with but students must know/understand everything in the book. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND taking class online unless very familiar w/human biology.
The Class is extremely hard and alot comes from the book. The teacher is helpful and he will tell at the begining that it is going to be hard. i thought i was going to fail but i got C. Study your stuff dont blame the professor cause it is a hard class to begin with
You can't judge the professor of an anatomy physiology course; it's an extremely difficult course! He is a good, helpful professor but has a strong accent which drove me nuts.
He is an absolutely fabulous professor
Dr. Gazal is the most fabulous professor ever. The class is hard. . . so suck it up and study. He is very helpful in office hours and after class. Read the book. He likes to ask test question directly out of the book.
Highly recommended if you want to learn
DrGazal is one of the best teachers I have had in a very long time. he is endlessly brillant, endlessly kind and and absolute joy to take a lecture from. His enthusiam for his work is so refreshing . He is also very concerned for the success of his students-- and plays no games like some other instructors I have known.
Biology 202 and 204 are very difficult classes! He is an endocrinologist, so he loves to test on the endocrine system and hormones! Know them all in depth. READ READ READ. The class is very hard 3-4 long chapters per test. He explains the material very well, but it's a lot of information to comprehend. Good teacher, difficult class.
very helpful and knowledgeable, he know what he is talking about about, if you want to learn physiology you had rather take him, but be prepared to study lots and lots, take only easy classes with this class, and work hard!!!!!
Very knowledgeable and passionate about what he teachers. Expects college level listening and attitude is class, as he should. Willing to help any student when asked. Has an accent, so can be difficult to understand. Plan on reading and studying for his classes. If you do, you can do well.
Awesome professor and very interesting course. Exams are difficult but all the questions are posted ahead of time so there is no reason to do poorly unless you dont study. He is very knowledgable and I would definately recommend the class and professor!
He is my favorite professor I have this semester!!! The cutest guy, reminds me of my dad. He really cares about students doing well in the class and I have learned so much information. I come to this class excited everyday to learn what he has in store. I recommend him if you want to do well in a class and learn a lot of information. WORK HARD!
Ok I thought I would easily get an A in his online class but it ended up being way harder than I thought. The lab wksheets are pretty easy and you pretty much get 100% on all of them but the Tests are rediculous. I read all the chapters and took notes, and looked up every answer as I was taking the test and still only pulled out C's and D's!
Took this class online and the tests are very hard. They're super specific so you end up going through the book to answer almost every question.
He is a terrible professor! He will never answer your emails! Why he teaches I have no idea!
Online. He would never help me when I went to his office to ask for help. And I asked him to repeat what he said once, because it is very hard to understand him and his response was "Are you deaf!" He is a horrible teacher!!
I took his class online during the summer. There was one day for a 4 hour lab. The most stressful thing ever. Completely unorganized and way too many labs to do for the time amount. Then after that he left and went to Africa for the rest of the summer. He was completely uninvolved in anything so dont ask for help. Awful Professor!!!!
it was a hard class and if you asked him for help he just told you to ask other students, it turned out the other students had the same questions i did. I thought his job was to teach, i don't know why he couldn't do that, i really wanted to learn
Nice professor, gets to the point right away telling you the class is hard. VERY DIFFICULT course, if you are going to take it make sure you set time aside to study every day. He has a very THICK accent, this is something i struggled with, you have to REALLY listen.
very hard course. lectures very difficult to understand at times because of his strong accent. nice prof. but tough course. tests questions extremely difficult.
He really loves to teach and tries extremely hard to get the material across. Very hard to understand so make sure and to use the textbook. I strongly recommend saving this class for the fall or spring semesters. Too much info for summer session. I should be getting a B but jury's still out. His tests depend alot on memorization of terms so study.
Dr Gazal is one of the best professors on campus. He is very smart and very passionate with the subject he teaches. Highly recommended! Have to study a lot to get a good grade. He has an accent, but if you are willing to learn, this is not an obstacle
Avoid this class at all costs ! Teacher is rude, verbally abusive, hard to understand, has favorites that he caters to and is a bully. He should not even be teaching.
He's a good teacher. He is hard to understand due to his accent and works hard to overcome that. His grasp and passion for the material comes through clearly. I found it helped to record his class and listen often. Lots to take in. His tests come from his lectures. I learned lots, and he was willing to take questions. Patience helps.
Took this class online over the summer. Tough, worked very very hard. Read the book, don't bother with the online power points. He was ill at the end of the summer, so any email sent from June until the end of August went unanswered . Amazing that someone else from the bio dept didn't help out. I learned a lot, but you have to be self motivated.
Was pleasantly surprised when I got my final grade. Thought for sure would be C or D, but got a B. Have to go to meeting (if online)in order to get a good grade. I missed a test 100pts and he was willing to let me test (from home) after the fact and gave me 4 days to do it! He's a great teacher and is very passionate about his work.
Great Biology teacher. He's so kind and sweet, if you show up to class everyday you'd have a better chance of making it. What you put into his class is what you get out of it. He has an accent but, it's really not that hard to understand. He goes into great detail just so his students can understand and repeats often, making sure no one is confuse
I took this class online and it was REALLY hard! One day out of the semester on a Saturday you have to go in to do a 3 hour lab and it sucks! He's not clear about his expectations at all and his exams are extremely difficult even if you read the text book!
Physiology is a difficult class, you will have to study, you will be challenged. If you put in the time and effort, you will learn a lot from Dr. Gazal. If you do your part, you will get more out of this class than any other Bio course offered at SCSU. Dr. Gazal is a great professor, but he expects a lot of effort from his students.
Good prof overall. Very understanding-let me make up a test when I was really sick. I think I would have enjoyed this class more if I had a bigger interest in physiology. It's just not my favorite but it's not Dr. Gazal's fault.
This class is hard not because the professors make it hard but because it is a difficult subject to grasp, especially the physiology part. Dr. Gazal was very helpful and it was kind of difficult to understand him, but what he taught was in detail and interesting. Be prepared to spend more than 5 hours a day if you want a B or higher in this class.
I am taking this class online. Once a semester we meet for a lab which was completely unorganized. Way too many labs for four hours and he was very unhelpful. When you asked questions he would yell at you. Test absurdly hard. Someone needs to remind him he is teaching a 100 level class not a 400. I would never take any class from him again.
One of the best classes I have ever taken. He teaches this course with the grad level phys students and does not change the material (make it easier on undergrads). You need to review your ppts and read the book for full understanding of the material, but if you put in the work you will benefit greatly from the course.
Run! He will not return your emails (online class). Met once for lab, was completely unorganized; he did not care to help. Emailed him several times, through the semester; he never responded. I wrote the notes from online, read the chapters at least twice, went to the tutoring center, and had a very hard time. Full of stress and struggles.
Don't take this class if you don't have to. The class average on each test was less than 50%. It's not the language barrier that is the issue it is the fact that his tests have nothing to do with the lecture material.
You would love him if he would be your professor. At first it would be hard to understand, but if you get on right note with him your class time would be very interesting.
This Professor is a joke! He thinks he is the best professor out there. Gives difficult papers to read and doesn't help explain them, his grading sucks, long exams short time, he doesn't give points if you answer it without answering it the way he wants it. Cocky, not current information, comes unprepared and confuses everyone. Yells if questioned
RUN RUN RUN. This Professor makes easy thing difficult. Doesn't answer email or is not present during office hours. When asked question he makes you feel dum. Not a good professor, nice personality though.
I am having a difficulty understanding this Professor. He tries so much to describe easy concept from high school biology. Better yet, he thinks students don't understand it. I wish I could take it with another professor. I will not advice him for anyone.
This professor is horrible he doesn't respond to emails yells at anyone that has questions and his tests take to long when he gives you no time to do it!
I chose hilarious, because it is hilarious that he is employed. This instructor is tenure and rocks it to his fullest advantage. His tests are crazy long (3 hours, for 100 intense questions) and poorly written. Labs are unorganized, he takes no accountability and his sweet time. If you don't already know biology you are going to fail.
HIDE! HIDE! HIDE! He is the worst professor ever. He makes easy concepts difficult. Makes students feel dumb when asked questions in class. Would not recommend him for any student, especially if you want to be in the medical field. He feels too fresh. What you study for is never on the test. The test questions are worded really funny to confuse you
By far the worst teacher I've had. He doesn't respond to emails, he never is at fault for anything, and makes you feel like an idiot if you ask a question. Teaches a 100 level class as if it was a 300+ level class. Gives out bonus points, only to put them in d2l so it goes against the rest of the students. This class is a joke. RUN, RUN, RUN, RUN!!
This is a tough class due to the material covered, not the professor. He explains the concepts clearly. You will have to spend a lot of extra time reading and studying to get a good grade. Long tests, but gives extra points. Lab exams taught by TAs, are sometimes harder than lecture. Attend open lab often!
Gazal is not a good teacher. He goes off on rants during his lectures, making it hard to understand what is actually material and what's just random facts he feels like sharing. Has a very thick accent so its hard to understand what he is even saying sometimes. He gives 120 question tests that you only have 60 minutes to complete.
Having class with this guy is a trying experience. He is proud, adamant, and monotone; you will not notice the transition from lecture into a rant solely because of his dreary voice. There is no concrete way to study for his exams as the content may be from powerpoints, textbook, lecture, or some factoid that is from none of the above. Boycott him.
I though doing online would be convenient BUT it was NOT! PPT's useless, tests very LONG and extremely difficult (100 Q's or more and very confusing to read) Instructions & expectations are VERY unclear and the rules change frequently. Videos used to quiz you, VERY poor sound & visual quality!! This is like a bad video game and you will LOSE!!
This professor was pretty terrible in person, very self righteous, he also has a thick accent. It's biology, so it is what it is, but he is very unpleasant to converse with. Take him online, DO NOT TAKE HIM SEATED! His tests are terrible in length and duration, he offers EC, but only because it't the only way he avoids having 90% failure rate.
Probably one of the worst teachers I've ever had in school. He makes you feel dumb when you try to ask questions or ask for help. The tests are long and you only get a short amount of time to finish. He gives a lot of bonus points so no one fails his class. I would not recommend this professor to anyone unless you want to be confused and irritated!
He is a horrible teacher!! Do not expect to learn from him. He will take forever to get back to your emails. Tests are super hard with low class averages. DO NOT TAKE WITH HIM!!!! You will be VERY stressed. Definitely the worst teacher I have ever had..
I really like biology, but this class ruined it for me. The only reason I had any sort of success in the class is because I read the book and spent hours studying. I basically felt like I was teaching myself the material and it was hard. He often showed up to class late and was never present in lab.
One of the worst professors I've ever had. Worst thing about it was that you could never understand him. He never told you what was important to study for exams so you were always going into them blind. Chances for extra credit on exams but it's 15 q's you must answer in 10 mins, later he changed it to 15 mins. Profs switched out mid semester.
Lectures are hard to follow. He is difficult to understand. Often runs out of time to cover all of the material that is on the test (test days set in advance). Very challenging tests. Reading the book and studying is a must. There is the opportunity for extra credit with every test. Wouldn't recommend unless you are a very independent learner.
Very hard to understand, makes this class way more advanced than a 100 level. Extra Credit is given randomly for attendance, you will have a hard time passing without it.
By far the worst professor I have ever had. He was extremely hard to understand and probably the most rude person I have ever had the displeasure of coming in contact with. I recommend taking any other professor on the entire planet before him.
His has a very strong accent so you really really need to focus in to understand what he is saying. Be sure to take lots of notes and take lots of time to study!! I found it helpful to print out lecture slides before class and write extra notes on them. Attendance not necessary but you won't understand anything if you don't go!!
Well I wanted to take this class in hopes of learning something. I preferred my high school teacher or reading wiki which are better source of learning. I regret taking the class with him. I wish I read the reviews before taking the class.
Dr. Gazal is an amazing instructor that gets a lot of bad rap on this website from students in introductory biology classes. He deeply cares about physiology and makes you care about it in the same way he does. The only advice I can give is that you MUST read the textbook and his lecture slides to do well on the exams.
I am a Junior and have had my fair share of poor professors, but Professor Gazal is by far the worst one I have had. Yes, I can deal with a poor lecturer but not a rude one. He comes unprepared especially for Lab and makes you stay longer than class period. I do not think he cares at all about his students.
The class was easy if you put in work. I would not take it for a Gen Ed class. The tests are very confusing, but they are all open note and can find some answers online. Gives extra credit tests. Movie quizzes are impossible-- one wasn't even in English. There is a long, unorganized 4 hour lab. This class was a hard for a 100 level class.
I took Gazal's A&P course that is required for all nursing majors. My suggestions are read the chapter before his lecture, write down the notes off his powerpoints instead of printing (and leave space!), and read, read, read again before the exams! I loved his lectures even though he is hard to understand. He makes you really appreciate the body
He is a good teacher but he is hard to understand and he loves to go in depth. For a class like A&P that is already difficult he doesn't make it any easier. He really knows his stuff and what he talking about though, I just thought it was too much detail. His questions on the test are also difficult. Make sure you are committed to this class!
He is the true definition of a teacher. It is impossible to leave his class without learning something. It is not an easy A or a B but you a guaranteed to get a better understanding of the material. Yes he does have an accent but he speaks fluent English. As a multicultural society and institution , we should be used to that by now.
He's a terrible teacher. He doesn't listen and is never wrong. He's hard to understand and he embarrasses you if you try and ask a question because "you should know this" even though you can only decode 1 of every 3 words he says. He'll teach you one thing and you get tested on something completely different!
I took this class online, so I don't know what I was expecting. The one lab day we had was a jumbled mess and he shared no sympathy, rather he seemed to be frustrated that we didn't just KNOW what to do. The tests are straight from the book, for the most part, but that lab day was a huge part of our grade and he was not understanding in the least.
I really enjoy Biology but I do not think I will ever be able to take another Bio class again. None of the answers for test come from the book or lecture, for video quizes print the actual worksheet out and you might get a c instead of an F when you do the quiz. Worst class I have ever taken and I am a 3.9 Junior and I barely got a B because of EC.
I choose Hilarious, not because he is funny but he does not know anything. He comes unprepared and is very rude especially if you ask a question. He brings up this old papers from the 70's like they are still current and talk about it in class. He needs to update his knowledge level and his personality. I would not recommend him for anyone.
Enjoyed most of lectures; uses technical vocab; not accessible outside of lecture and often condescending but otherwise inspirational due to love of his work; not easy A or B and if you mess up it may be the difference between a letter grade; thick Nigerian accent but writes out words to help students. Don't correct him EVER.
Everything everyone says about Gazal is BS. If you want to do good you can. Study 3 hours minimum everyday, take notes in lecture, and prepare to comprehend. The material is difficult but don't let that scare you. Lots of extra credit.
He is hard to understand. He is sometimes unorganized and goes off on tangents only to later realize they were included in the slideshow. Quizzes at the end of each chapter- remember these questions (they end up on the test). He gives random extra credit when he sees low attendance (up to 10 points!). Keep up with the reading.
I have taken two courses with Gazal, and I would highly recommend taking someone else. He says one thing and then does another. The first two exams were based on his quizzes, and the final exam completely changed. You are told to study one thing and then tested on another.
Gazal is a fantastic teacher. He is sometimes very hard to understand, but he makes up for it with well-timed jokes. Tests are easy, if you read the chapters on the test. Every lecture exam has at least 10 extra credit points, which gives you a very good chance at passing. I suggest writing notes instead of printing and really listen to him.
OK but a little hard to understand
just ok
Just barely passed this class
He is a good professor. Gave lots of extra credit which helped me a lot. During the one lab that we had, it was a bit unorganized but it wasn't his fault, his TAs weren't the best. His slideshows really helped with breaking down each section of each chapter. But you are going to have to read the book.
A hard course.
Not so hard for bio majors but a touch lib ed course.
This class makes me laugh at times... It shouldn't come as a shocker in a 400 level biology class when there are tests with 100+ questions on there. Read and pay attention and you should be fine. However... he will shut you down in class for trying to ask questions about the lecture. Also, total points of pop quizes will be equivalent to a test.
He tries to be funny in class to get us to not think too badly of him, but only does so because he knows that students think he rude-which he is. He is borderline unprofessional with some of jabs and comments that he makes. Tests are on the long side, but doable. Quizzes come by surprise and are worth much more points than they should be.
He posts the slides on D2L and whatever he doesn't feel like covering in class he'll make you read on your own and that will be the material on the exam. Changes exams, says you'll be tested on one thing and you're tested on another. Got screwed on every exam. Get ready to memorize the smallest of details, every system, function, & protein involved
These AP classes are very difficult. There is a lot of information you NEED to retain to spit out for the exams. Do EVERY quiz! Each quiz and exam has extra credit attached vital to obtain a decent grade. Read the slides, but take your own notes. The questions on the quizzes will appear on the exam. Know how to answer everything on the exam review.
This online class was a teach your self or you'll fail. Even when reading lecture, the book, and doing the study guides, the test were still VERY difficult. I would not recommend this class with Gazal EVER!
This class was great, I mean A & P classes are expected to be quite difficult but that is not the professor's fault. He did quite well at teaching the large amount of material as well as he could since we only had class twice a week. Gazal used many quizzes to give you extra credit which were vital to doing well in the class. Exams 100+ Q & easy
A hard class.
OK class. Make sure to go and you will do OK.
The quizes are very hard and cover every little detail. He does put his slides up on D2L. Don't skip any lectures are the tests will be very had.
Makes things very complicated although the class is clear. Very difficult to understand his accent. No clear way of grading especially on essay part of the exam. The lab was confusing not well organized.
Dr. Gazal is a very good professor. I honestly don't understand the poor ratings that I am seeing. I think it's very harsh. Let me tell you something. The course is difficult but you can't do anything worse than a B because there are so many bonus points. Don't skip class. otherwise, you will miss out on attendance bonuses.
Took the class online that had a mandatory lab day set on a Saturday. There was a lot of extra bonus points. This class is not for slackers who are looking for an easy A. The exams were pretty hard and long. It is set between 3-4 hours and I always used up the time. I did not use the book and did just fine if you know where to look online.
I took this class in online and it was extremely difficult. he did not provide lectures only the textbook and a few slideshows, with very little information that was actually on the test. this class goes extremely in depth, more than a 100level should. the prof is no help and rude so dont even bother asking.
Difficult course, but Gazal is great. It is extremely important that you read the textbook outside of class. He truly cares about his students and wants them to reach their full potential in this course. Do not skip class!!! There will be about 5 days that he will give 5-10 EC points for showing up, also gives EC for answering questions in class.
This was one of the hardest classes I've taken so far! The exams were so tough and I felt like I had to teach myself the entire time! That being said, I did set up a meeting with the prof and he was very kind. Also, if you do well on the labs, you will pass the class (which is the only reason I passed).
This is a summer class. The professor had an quiz based on chapter 1 due on the second day of the class. Okay, fine. The real kicker is, this quiz was not even mentioned in the syllabus. The D2L was not organized at all. I dropped the class after seeing how awful it would be to try and keep up with the heavy assignments and messy class page.
This prof was very unprofessional he right away said this class is to weed out the nursing majors and get rid of you good luck. His class averages for exams were below 50% and his assistants for labs were completely unhelpful and made me feel stupid when I asked for help on lab reports.
I honestly don't know what this professor looks like or sounds like because the "lectures" are literal PowerPoints. Get ready to teach yourself.
I have never had this unprofessional of a professor before. Lecture is via zoom and he just reads the PowerPoints too quick so most my class stopped going and he threw a temper tantrum and starting giving the remaining students pop quizzes. D2L is impossible to navigate what's due and syllabus is a mess. He doesn't keep up with grading so good luck
He is a nice guy but very hard professor.
Hard content and not many resources, google is your BFF
Great professor who cared a lot about his work but be aware that this is a very difficult class. I pulled a lot of all nighters. There's a ton of material to digest and the class being hybrid does not help. You have 5 big exams throughout the semester, and understanding how and why systems work is a big part of the class.
Challenging course, but attendance and using the textbook help. unstuck study was a lifesaver for study prep alongside other resources.
The lab for this class was amazing but Dr. Gazal was very disorganized. Communication was poor and I legitimately did not know at all what my final grade would be until it was posted. Wouldn't take this class with other hard classes as it is a LOT of content. Thank god it's over
Don't recommend taking her for an online class. Just got finished with the second midterm IN THE MIDDLE OF SPRING BREAK, and the test contained many questions that was not be found in the study material. Awesome.
DO. NOT. TAKE. THIS. PROFESSOR! If you take him online, you have to teach yourself. If it wasn't for extra credit I would have failed. Tests are poorly written, you can't review the quizzes. The only thing to study is the long lectures. It got to the point where I guessed on the last test and got a C, which was my best grade on the tests.
I ended up withdrawing from the class after unanswered emails, poor planning, and unclear content. He fell asleep during the group presentation! After 4 weeks into the first unit we were not even done with one chapter, and the test got pushed back to compensate, I felt I was going to miss a lot of important information that is needed for pHD/MD's.
