Delightful. Approachable. And he loves Buffy the Vampire Slayer. ANd has a really great sense of style.
Super easy. 5 quizzes, midterm, and open book final. His total points for the class is 110 and how ever many points you have is your percentage. aka free 10% boost. He gives extra credit and even more if you ask.
One of the true gems at Loyola. An all around amazing guy with a true passion for his students. A great professor with a great experience. TAKE HIS CLASS!
His class was ridiculously easy (the average time taken on the midterm was about 6-7 minutes), but the discussions we had in class made up for it. He knows the textbook is boring, and throws in some hilarious commentary and asks the class interesting questions to make up for it. Great teacher if you're taking THEO100 as Core and want it to be fun.
This is probably the easiest professor I've ever had at Loyola. He is so laid back, it's not even funny. If you get the option to have him, TAKE HIM! Easy A. No outside work, no group projects, no papers. There are weekly quizzes, in which he gives you the questions ahead of time. MidTerm and Final are easy because he gives the questions beforehand
This was the easiest professor I have ever had at Loyola. Super funny guy. Always gives answers to quizzes beforehand. He just wants everyone to get an A. If you have the chance to take him DO IT! Weekly quizzes, midterm and final.
One of the greatest professors at Loyola. He really cares about his students and gives an incredibly easy A if you just show up to class. He gives the answers to all tests before class, and his lectures are incredibly fun and interesting. Great professor that you should take if you are given the chance.
Amazing professor. Quizzes, midterm, final, and term paper- all are very easy. Gives everything you need to know for all the tests and quizzes. Truly glad I took him.
Take this class if you need a GPA boost or an easy A. Quizzes almost every week, gives you the answers and will have them be an "open class" quiz. Midterm/Final is the same, gives you the questions and the answers and almost "open class." Really chill night class, only need to show up for the first half.
easiest class ive ever taken, 10/10
You are only graded on daily participation, a midterm, and a final, but you are given the midterm and final questions ahead of time. Participation is way too much of the grade though, and its so boring no one goes. You have to send in a question before the next lecture about the next topic, but you havent learned anything to have questions.
By far the easiest class I've taken in my life. One midterm, one final, and the rest of your grade is composed of you emailing him once a week 1 question you have about the material (he tells you some topics to choose from ahead of time.) He also emails the midterm and final exam WORD FOR WORD weeks prior.
Olegs is the best and easiest prof I have ever taken. Night class for 2.5 hours. He knows the students don't want to be there so he makes class super easy. Class is garded on the midterm, final, and 10 questions about the lecture that you have to email him. He gives you the midterm and final weeks in advance! We watch movies for most of class too!
I love him so much. I'm so sad that he only teaches Theo 107 at Loyola. You don't have to show up for class but it's honestly not that bad... Only 1 midterm and 1 final then homework is just emailing him a question about what we're about to talk about. SUPER EASY and he's so funny. Laughs at his own jokes it's cute. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN
Olegs is amazing! His night class was great, participation was a once a week question you email him and then just a midterm and final. No homework, and he essentially tells you everything to know for the final a week in advance. Easy A!
Andrejevs is great!! You can tell he really enjoys his work and is very passionate. Attendance is mandatory but alot of people dont show up and still pass. Lectures are kind of confusing bc he makes them as he goes but he gives study guides for the midterm and the final and he goes over them in class. There is one group paper and presentation on it
I took this as a night class once a week, and it was ridiculously easy. He shows lots of videos to put things in context, so bring snacks for sure. The only thing I struggled with was remembering to send him questions before lecture. Otherwise, just pay attention and write some notes, and you won't flop on exams.
Graded on 4 quizzes, midterm and final that he gives you the questions too beforehand. Such a nice guy and funny. Cares about what hes doing and not hard to get an A. For sure take him!!
Take This Professor! If you are taking THEO for a core requirement take Olegs. He the kindest man and understands most of the students aren't interested in the class. Very understanding and you know what he is looking for on the tests.
Olegs is the GOAT. Don't take anyone else for Theology classes. Take his tier 1 and his tier 2 theology classes. You show up to class occasionally and you will pass with an A.
EASIEST A EVER 4 quizzes, midterm, and final--all multiple choice questions, where he gives you the questions beforehand. (And then before the midterm and final, gives you a chance to ask questions about those, so basically giving you the answers right before the test). Never any homework or reading outside of class. The best class to take for core
Literally the easiest A you will ever get. 4 quizzes, midterm and final. Gives you the questions and answers before all of them and they are all multiple choice. A rather confusing lecturer so you won't learn much but the class is super easy. Also don't bother getting the textbook.
Really nice guy, super chill. No homework, no attendance. 100% of the grade is the Final and he gives you the questions throughout the course and on the study guide. It's also open-note and take home and you get two days to do it.
Very nice guy. The lectures were interesting and he tells you what will be on the final, which is 100% of your grade. We also watched a lot of documentaries during class. I would definitely take him again.
He's a really nice guy. The only grade in our class was the final exam, which was super easy since he gives you it ahead of time in the study guide. You have to watch the lectures in order to know the material, but he posts them on Sakai so you can watch them when you want. The material is interesting, but this class is mainly just a GPA booster.
He's a super professor and it's clear he cares about his classes. He explains religions super well and he makes sure to simplify things that could be confusing. The quizzes he gives are super easy and he tells you exactly what questions are on the quizzes.
Easiest class I have ever, and probably will ever take. It is a guaranteed A and he is such a kind and sweet person. Really hope I can take another class of his in the future!!
Professor Andrejevs is fantastic. He is very caring, he genuinely cares about everyone, and he loves Theology. He's a very easy grader and is not boring at all. His grading criteria is crystal clear, and it is pretty much an easy A. I learned a lot from his class and I am more interested in Theology after his class. Highly recommend!!!
His presentations and lectures were every un organized. I did not like him.
Most of the grade was tests. And his teaching was confusing and disorganized! Take him if you want to FAIL!!!!
Super easy and he's really nice. Cake walk class
Very caring professor. He really cares about all of his students and wants them to do well. No exams, only quizzes. There are 3 lecture-based quizzes (which he literally gives you the answers to) and about 9 quizzes based on films (which are pretty interesting). Would definitely take again.
literally THE BEST. such and easy class and you can tell he really cares about teaching!! definitely take for tier 1 theology!!
100% of the grade was the final exam, but he gives you the questions and answers throughout the semester. Just make note of stuff when he tells you itll be on the exam, and have notes ready. The exam was incredibly easy, I think everyone got 100% on it.
A good class to take for Theo requirement. Gradebook consists of unit quizzes and final exam, in which he goes over the questions and answers beforehand. Lectures are engaging, lots of videos which makes it fun to learn & eases stress about grades. He's very passionate about what he teaches so just show up, the class itself is interesting.
Olegs is fantastic! He is very understanding and kind when it comes to any issues you may have. He spends a lot of time talking for lectures, and has a weekly quiz. He basically gives the quiz answers out loud in class before the quiz is due. If you show up, take notes, and do the quizzes, you'll do great! Definitely my least stressful class.
Enthusiastic professor and very easy class. Can be really hard to follow his lesson sometimes. Take home midterm and quizzes, in person final. Easy A
Easy class, caring guy who cares about the subject. Weekly quizes that he gives you the answers to, and final that is all multiple choice. Show up and take notes and you will get an A, not the most interesting but take if you want an easy A.
Great professor. Dont even worry about taking his class, he posts all info online and all quizzes and midterm were take home except for the final. Put in some effort and you will get an A. He cares about his students.
Easiest A you can find. Just show up, take some notes, and all your quizzes and midterm are take-home. The Final Examination is in-person, so that is a bit tough if you didn't pay any attention and just used Google. I got all As on the quizzes, C+ on the midterm, took the final and ended with an A. Have a copy of the Catholic Bible and you're good.
Although he doesn't take attendance, I would heavily recommend going to class because he gives you everything you need to succeed during class. Professor Olegs is a caring guy who understands that students are busy with other classes. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for an easy Tier 1 theo class.
I had Dr. Olegs for J-term and he is THE BEST! Very enthusiastic about what he teaches and goes above and beyond to make sure his students understand the material. I highly recommend you take him for any class you can; my only regret is not taking him for a full semester.
Grade is based on easy take-home quizzes and 2 midterms that have the same exact questions word for word as the quizzes. Class is also interesting and he is super chill. Easy A.
He will walk through the quiz questions and given you the answers. All quizzes are open note and take home. Theres only 2 tests so you have nothing to worry about. Easy A
If you want an easy professor for this class, I would recommend this one. He has quizzes that are take home and it is open note. He gives the quiz questions during lecture. The midterm was not open note but it's just the same quiz questions from previous quizzes. He has power points and also includes the quiz questions on there. Def recommend!!
Professor Andrejevs was one of the very best professors I had in my freshman year!!! His lectures were very intriguing and he was often funny. Easy A as long as you show up, engage in his lectures, and take a few notes. He also gives you the quiz/midterm questions and answers before the actual quiz/midterm. No homework. Stress-free class!! 100/10 !
Easy A. Weekly take-home quizzes that he explicitly gives you the questions and answers for during lecture. 2 midterms that have the same exact questions as the quizzes word for word. Also super understanding regarding anything that pops up and understands that most students are taking the class just to fulfill a core requirement. Highly Recommend.
Dr. Andrejevs was an amazing teacher! His quizzes and tests were super straight forward. Attendance is not required, but is helpful for preparing for exams.
Loved his class. All quizzes and tests are straightforward and the lecture material is exactly like the tests, making lectures, though attendance is not mandatory, extremely helpful for assessments.
The. Best. Prof. Ever. Do yourself a favor and take him
BEST PROFESSOR EVER! He makes it extremely hard for you to not get an A. The quizzes were super straightforward.
TAKE HIM FOR THEO! Super easy A. All quizzes are online and found in the powerpoint. Midterm and exam questions are given sporadically through classes so attendance is encouraged but is not mandatory. He is a little boring and awkward but is super kind and enjoys what he is doing.
olegs is the best. take his class
Best professor I've had in my lifetime. A very handsome guy as well.
Very low-pressure 100-level course. He gives you all the answers to the quizzes in class and they are taken from home.
Very easy prof!! I took him over zoom for tier 1 Theo and refused to take Theo again until one of his classes was open. No attendance is taken, he tells you to buy a textbook but it is not necessary, all quizzes are sent as a word doc online, and exams are open bible. TAKE THIS PROF
Might be the easiest class I've ever taken. Gives weekly (ish) quizzes but all questions give in class and take home over the weekend. Lectures can be boring but he's funny and you can tell he cares about what he teaches. Final was in-person but all questions and answers given beforehand and it was open note. Take this class!
Prof Olegs is a wonderful teacher and Im so glad I took his class! Very easy A. Attendance is mandatory, but he literally gives you the quiz and final answers in class, so I would go!
Such a nice professor! I do not like theology but I genuinely enjoyed this class with him! Attendance is not mandatory! Go to class the last day before finals week and he will give you the answers to the final.
There is no reason that you SHOULDN'T take his course. He practically hands you an A by going over questions and answers for quizzes and exams, which are open note. Attendance isn't mandatory, but he is a great lecturer in my opinion and made everything very interesting. I learned so much in this course and will definitely take him for Tier 2.
literally THE BEST. Olegs literally gives us the answers so there is no way u can fail. The easiest class ever and he is so kind and caring. Don't take anyone but him.
Olegs is the best professor ever. He is also one of those people that I want to know more about; he seems like a very interesting man. Take him any chance you get. Class is easy low-stakes, so you can just learn for fun in there which is nice.
Very kind and relaxed. His lectures were a little boring and monotonous but that's kind of a symptom of taking the class online more than any fault of his. I barely attended and just watched lecture recordings. He tells what will be on the quiz verbatim. You may have to pay to see some the documentaries he assigns for homework.
super sweet and understanding professor. has a lot of knowledge on topics and even though attendance is optional, his lectures are interesting.
Probably the easiest class I will ever take at Loyola. Graded off of weekly 10-question quizzes (5 answers he gives you and 5 come from a video), a midterm, and a final he gives you questions/answers for. Attendance is not mandatory but that is how you get the answers to the quizzes. Great guy and he cares about what he's teaching.
Easiest class in the world. Goes over quiz questions during class and quizzes are online. Final exam study guide given too. Interesting class overall
Dude easy, got an A with my eyes closed.
He is overall an amazing teacher and I haven't heard one bad thing about him.
If you need a tier 1 Theology class, take him!! He is the most casual professor I have ever had. Every week there is a quiz but they're all online and at your own time. There is no textbook and he provides you with the few reading that you have to read for the quiz. He also uses documentaries as his "textbook" more than making you read. TAKE HIM!!
If you have to take this class for credit, take him!! He is very nice and his class is super easy. He gives take-home quizzes and they are very straightforward.
Prof Andrejevs should be your top choice for a Theo requirement. He is very understanding of mistakes in the weekly quizzes, and will even modify the assigned readings (which come from online) if the average score starts going down. Also, as of this semester, you can submit 10 intelligent discussion questions instead of taking the final. Must take!
Very, very easy class. Attendance isn't mandatory and the assignments are easy. You usually have to watch a video or read a text which is easy enough. As long as you turn in the assignments you can def pass the class.
Professor Andrejevs is one of the best I took this semester. I took his class as a needed core and I'm glad I did since it was easy but engaging. There are only take-home quizzes every so often that are lecture and video based (aka he gives the answers) along with a final exam. He's very interesting to listen to even if you don't care for the class
Grades consist of 10 take home quizzes and the final. If you submit discussion questions throughout the semester you are not required to take the final. Lectures are long and very boring. However, he posts all the content from class on Sakai, so attendance is not really necessary. I attended class twice and still got an A.
This is a great class and he is so nice! The class was formatted with 5 quality questions you had to ask in class, a midterm and final that is open-note and he literally gives you test questions in class. There is no review for the tests so I would go to class to take notes (hand-written) and get the test questions, but its an engaging class!
The best professor ever. You only have to do 5 questions by email during the entire semester and 2 exams that are open notes. He gives the questions for the exam during the classes so you just have to take note of them. The attendance is not mandatory and the lectures are the most chill thing that you would take in your life. SO EASY
This professor is amazing, you don't have to do the readings since they aren't always related. You simply ask 5 questions and have two exams that are open note. You don't have to go to class unless you want the exam questions which he gives you, but his slides are pretty self explanatory.
TAKE HIM!!! It isn't necessary to show up or listen in class to do well, but please do so if you take this class! I learned so much about different religions, and Dr. Andrejevs is very knowledgable about the subject. Weekly at-home quizzes and an easy final exam, so it is pretty much a guaranteed good grade and easy to focus on just learning!
Really nice guy who understands that most people who take this class are doing so as a basic core class.
Theology would never be my favorite subject but I loved Professor Anderjevs. As hard as it may be to come to class, being there for lecture made the final a breeze. I feel like he always cared about how we were doing and really loved our input through quality questions even if we had zero prior knowledge on the religon.I really enjoyed this class!
You have to go to class and write down each time he gives you exam questions because they are exactly the ones that will appear in the midterm and the final, both open notes. You also have to make 5 easy quality questions. Take him!
Amazing professor! He was really helpful when it came to questions. Professor Andrejevs taught theology in a manner that was not coercive at all. Rather, he made the subject interesting. Homework was minimal to none. There was a midterm and final, but the professor prepared the class. As long as one attends and engages, it is a class worth taking!
Professor Andrejevs is a good professor if you want an easy A. Only trick to it is to go to class and watch out for the exam questions he gives out, because those are basically the exam. Also asks to come with discussion questions, but those are pretty easy to think of since the class material is actually interesting.
Very quiet and can be boring, but he is clearly very knowledgeable about Catholicism, if not the other religions he's covering. Very easy homework of just asking "quality questions" and you get all the exam answers by going to class. You'd have to never show up to not pass.
I took his class last year and he honestly was THE BEST professor I ever had. His class was insanely easy which made his lectures way more engaging. The entire class grade was based on take-home quizzes that were very easy if you went to the lectures. Such a great guy!
Has a mid term and a final and 5 discussion questions and thats its. If you come to class he tells you all the questions on the tests one class at a time and by the end of it he gives you all the questions. You can use youre notes on both tests.
HOW DOES HE NOT HAVE A 5/5???? I did not do any of the quality questions all semester because right like how much lazier can I get and the last day before the semester ended, he told us to show up to a 1 hour lecture during finals week which would guarantee us an automatic A on the final.
Professor Andrejevs is awesome. For my class, the only necessary work to get an A was to take notes in class. The grade was only based on a midterm, a final, and a participation grade. To get the participation grade, we needed to ask a certain number of questions per two week period.
Easy class to pass, attendance is not mandatory and professor Andrejevs is the chillest guy ever! Class was a bit boring at first but pretty interesting if you really pay attention. No homework expect for bi-weekly questions. Also midterm and final were the only other grades and they're pretty much impossible to fail if you take notes.
He is very chill, attendance isn't mandatory but if you go to class and take a few notes youre guaranteed an A. If you dont go, notes are online and you can still do well. Classes are a mix of documentaries/videos and lecturing over slides. Not much in terms of in class participation. Great prof for an 8 or 9:00. Only 4 quizzes, midterm, and final.
Olegs is an extremely chill teacher who managed to make what can seem like a boring subject very interesting. Grade was based on four quizzes and two tests, but they were all based on what we did in class. Attendance isn't mandatory, but will make the class a whole lot easier because he will put questions on tests about what we discussed in class.
Dr. A was an amazing prof! I found his lectures very interesting and he tries to make the class low-stakes so you can relax and learn. All his assessments were async but they weren't originally in the syllabus (async quizzes and in-person midterm and final). Overall, I loved being in his class. Amazing choice for any theo class!!!
Took him for a summer core and ended up really enjoying this class. He goes over a decently wide range of world religions and gives them the respect they deserve, but his specialty is the new testament and gospel which definitely shines through in that unit. It's a lecture heavy class but super interesting. Would absolutely take him again.
I think Professor Andrejevs is so funny and I enjoyed listening to his lectures. I do not think I really learned a lot from the course, but if you have intense courses packed in your schedule, taking him to lighten the load for the semester is a good move.
You'll pass this class as long as you go to the class right before exams. He provides full study guides with everything that will be touched on in exams. Exams are open note, with UNLIMITED notes. You can bring every page of notes you have, so paying attention to lectures is quite useful. Only a few simple assignments to complete for the class.
He's the best. He is very personable and funny. He knows a lot about what he is lecturing about. For us this semester every exam and quiz was online take home. I legitimately enjoyed listening to his lectures and I would 1000% take him again.
two exams both are open notes and he sends an email saying everything the exam will be on so you can write down answers preemptively. in interesting and fun class, lots of discussion opportunities, ask whatever random question you want to get credit. ex: "what is the karmic debt of suicide" "why do we think jesus was real" makes class interesting
He's great! Very knowledgeable, passionate, kind, and respectful. Graded on one midterm, 5 discussion questions, and the final. The two tests were multiple choice and fully open note. He goes over exactly what is going to be on the exams the class before. Very good intro to religion class! Take him if the class hasn't filled up!
