Olga Is a wonderful Chemistry Professor. I needed to take Chemistry 121 and I really struggled at first. I then started to use her office hours and got a lot of good help and really began to understand the material that she gave. Always Helpful and a really inspirational teacher. Her tests are not something to take lightly. Definitely worth taking.

The class material is not easy however like all classes if you practice the material, participate in class, and do all the assignments you will understand the concepts. This professor slaves away and expects you to work hard as well. She is VERY clear at the beginning of the semester about every assignment that will be due throughout the semester, so if you plan ahead she is the one for you. Spend some time studying and this class is easy!

Olga is a great teacher and very intelligent! Understands that Chemistry isn't and easy subject and makes it easy as possible for you to understand. Do the homework and take good notes and there is no doubt you will pass the class. Test aren't that hard if you show up to class, take good notes, and do all the homework she gives you. She's a tough teacher, but she clarifies, you just gotta ask. She may sound mean and harsh bc of her accent, but she truly means well. I didn't do well bc of life factors and I took AP at the same time (don't take 2 science classes), but I learned a lot and I enjoyed it. If you have to take a Chemistry class and have the opportunity to take it with Olga, do it. She is an AMAZING teacher and she honestly cares about her students. She is a great professor! You must read the text book, and study to pass. She thoroughly goes through exam expectations, and provides SI sessions before each exam. She also provides you with the opportunity to receive extra credit.

It's a tough class, the subject of chemistry is not easy at all, but she explains it well, she even looks for feedback, for lost faces, and re explains it in a different way. i loved her for this. There is Math involved, she will explain it to you. She is a fair grader, tests are based on homework, if you don't get it ask and she will go over it.

Olga is a great teacher. At first she comes off as seemingly strict and tough. However she is a fun, caring person who can make jokes during class. She offers some EC but don't bank on it saving you. If you keep up with the course, HW, study guides then you should do well. A bonus is she is hot and fun to flirt with, if you can break the barrier.

The class overall has difficult material, but Olga is definitely willing to help. Really, all you have to do for an A is show up, practice everything in the workbook, and practice old exams. Also, her accent is not at all hard to understand--whoever said that probably jus can't bother to crack open a book. There is just a little extra credit.

CHEM 121 is a difficult course with a lot of information to cover. Professor Katkova taught this course in a way that made it easier to understand, often giving various examples and explanations. She is a kind and caring instructor and is very passionate about chemistry. She is always willing to help and encourages her students to ask questions.

My second attempt at chemistry was take with Olga & let me tell you; the difference from my last professor was night & day! She really helped me & my classmates to understand the material & helped us when we struggled. The course itself is not easy, but Olga will be there the whole semester to help figure it out!

I have never enjoyed a chemistry class, and this class I actually enjoyed compared to the two other times I have done this class in the past. I recommend this teacher if you want to actually succeed and understand the material. If you don't study you will not be successful. But Olga gives you the materials and study guides to be successful.

Olga if fantastic and really explains the difficult topics well. I missed a lot of class but she was always willing to work with me if i needed help. The lectures wouldn't feel like you learned much but then I missed a few and realized how much she helps in such a short amount of time.

She will challenge your ability to critically think and there is a lot of work. But, it is all to prepare you for the exams. She is by far one of the most proactive professors Ive ever had; she goes out of her way to make many tools for her students to succeed. If you are not a proactive learner then you will likely struggle, because CHEM can be hard. Also the work load is a good/ manageable amount

Professor Olga was awesome. I thought Chemistry was going to be super hard but she taught it in a way that made it easy. She really cares about her student and is really helpful. You will learn a lot and have fun in this class. There are three exams, three reflective journals, final exam, and chem101 online homeworks. The lab was pretty fun too.

I took this in thesummer, it was a five week course and it was a very rigorous class as expected. But she made it so much better by always offering help and being very caring and she even had an embedded tutor. Professor Katkova was my first science professor at TMCC and she made a great impression on me! She makes sure that you know she cares about each of her students and will go to the moon and back for them. 4 exams (with study guides) and lots of weekly assignments but she teaches the information over and over until it's solidified. She's awesome!

She is always very nice and happy to help out. She tells you exactly how to ace her tests, and she always gives detailed feedback on assignments. She also gives A LOT of extra credit opportunities, once a week for filling out a survey and then from extra credit questions on exams. The course is easy if you do all the work she assigns.

By far one of the best chemistry teachers I have ever taken. She can be harsh with grading, but if you make the effort to learn and ask questions you are on the right path for success. She offers extra credit each week (take advantage of it). It is VERY important to study what you have worked on throughout the semester as it will show up later on.

Is a bit difficult and may take some time studying or practicing extra to master certain things... but if you pay attention and work through the workbook it's easy. Just put in the work.

This class is hard and requires a huge time commitment for studying/ doing homework. The best thing to do in this class is to watch all videos (including optional ones), read the unit readings, and do all the workbook problem. Some of the exam questions come from the workbook, in my experience.

Mrs. Olga is one of the most amazing instructors I have ever had in my life. She will help you in any way possible for you to succeed. She provides the recipe for your success in her class. Just, do all the practice problems in the workbook, Watch all of her instructional videos and the YT videos she personally picked for our understanding.

I was taking 3 other time consuming and course heavy science classes and I felt like I didn't have enough time to properly study for chemistry. Proff. O.K is such an inspirational and caring person that she made me want to do better and be better. Take her class for an exceptional experience, one that will help mold your character and study habits.

Professor Katkova is a really excellent and caring teacher and the material when she explains it is much easier to understand. The only issues is that all the smaller homework assignments you never get full credit on and some of the phrasing on test questions is really tricky to navigate what she is asking.

Professor Olga is very serious about her work as a chemistry professor. Sometimes, this seriousness overly presents itself when it comes to a general chemistry course. However, this professor truly wants her students to succeed at the end of the day, even if that means applying more pressure than necessary.

Great Professor, cares for her students. The material is not necessarily extremely difficult, but it can become very time consuming to get through. There are a few key parts during the semester that you really want to put in some extra time to make sure you get the material down. Tests can feel very time sensitive but only count for half the grade.

I LOVED the hybrid class, however, only do it if you are able to keep yourself accountable. By forcing myself into a strict study schedule, I was able to get A's on the exams without studying. As long as you don't get behind, you'll be okay. Also, have a GOOD lab partner, since the labs are essential to understanding the material.

Pretty difficult class and didn't enjoy it but Katkova is a very caring professor. She ended up curving the final since many struggled with it. I liked the labs more than the class since it was my first experience in a proper lab. There was a soul crushing amount of homework though.

Olga's CHEM121 is tough but rewarding. She breaks down chemistry thoroughly, emphasizing key points. Stay engaged, use the textbook, and try unstuck AI - it really helps with study prep! Worth the effort for her engaging lectures.

I absolutely loved Professor Katova. She is the first professor that I've taken that made me welcome into her class. She has weekly extra credit and gives a lot of support on exams. If you go to all lectures, do all homework and the workbook and also attend the pre-exam review, you will have no problem in the class.
