excellent, very smart and knowledgable. if you want to know anything about biology take her, it is definitely worth it.

She is extremly smart. Any question that was asked in class, she knew the answer to. Amazing. Her class is fairly easy for a biology class. On her tests and quizzes the question pretty much all come from the CD that comes with the book. So if you read the chapter and study the CD you're good.
She had a lot of knowledge about the subject, but wasn't really clear about what we needed to know. The tests always had a lot of misleading, tricky questions.
Olga really tries hard to help each student succeed. Two or three times during the semester she took a couple hours to put togather study groups where you could recieve one on one tutoring.
Dr. Kopp teaches very well. She is one of my favorite professors ever. She does require you to know the subject well for the test but thats the point isn't it. She is always helpful. She even did research to answer questions she didn't know the answers to right off the top of her head. She was always willing to help anyone who asked.
She is extremly hard. She really cares about teaching and is actually very caring, but her tests are crazy hard!!! I would recommend her if you want to study dang hard.
The class was hard, but the prof really cared about the students and would spend tons of time explaining anything you ask her. Great class if you really want a good base in bio
This is a tough class and it definatley requires a good chuck of time for studying. She is a great teacher thogh that really knows her stuff. She is very willing to help you out in any way that she can. Definately a great teacher and I highly recommend her.
She seems like she cares but in the end she gets frustrated by students too easily. Whenever a problem occurs she says it's the student's fault and everything is up to the student. She has a semi bad accent and teaches straight from the book. If it wasn't for quizzes, no one would have to go to her class at all. Overall, she's horrible
Wonderful teacher, very helpful and she gets very excited about biology. Very hard class but worth it.
Tuff class! Not an easy one. She is a little hard to understand sometimes but she is a great teacher. She knows her stuff and loves teaching you can see. Best advice is to write down your thoughts on the questions u have on the test(scrap paper) on all the tests and you will improve your grade by 5 percent. I did and it boosted my grade a ton.
Make sure you read the text book to pass her tests. She is a very hard teacher that you cannot understand.
Its the amount of content that makes any bio class hard. Read chapters, study chapter cd quizzes and review power points and you will do well. Like most classes, it comes down to studying. She knows her stuff and gets excited about biology. Many skip class and blame her for their bad grades. Be responsible and you will do well. A's are possible.
She is a pretty good teacher, she moves throught the class very quickly so it is really important that you read the book before class. She has a accent but after like the first few classes you really don't even notice anymore. Over all a good teacher.
Professor Kopp made everything interesting and she was funny. There are two VERY easy assignments throughout the semester, some simple quizzes, and then 5 exams. You can drop your lowest score at the end. All I did for the exams was study the study guides and I got an A for the class. Take if from Kopp if you have to take the class, she's great.
The class is hard, but you learn alot! If you want to get a good grade, then read the chapters and go to class everyday; otherwise, you will fall behind fast. Practice the quizzes on the CD and the questions at the end of the chapter. If you don't quite know the answer on a test, she lets you write an explanation for partial credit.
She is wonderful! She is really funny, but knows her stuff. You can tell she really loves biology. Olga wants everyone to understand and will take time to answer all of your questions, so helpful. Her test aren't that hard, she also drops lowest test score. I would totally recommend her!
Great professor. I would recommend her to anyone. One of the most helpful professors I've ever had. If you want to see her really be excited about teaching take a botany course from her. Has taught me alot about asking questions and not just believing what someone says just because they are a scientist. UVSC is lucky to have her.
She is awesome! Her class isn't the easiest, but she explains the concepts well and her tests are on the material she focuses on in class. Those who want to learn the subject well should take her class.
Hard to understand the first lesson, but after just two or three you can understand her. Pedagogic. Makes spontaneous jokes pretty often. Good response to questions. Good professor.
Very good teacher. Very hard tests, but very fair, she lets you explain your answers on the test, so if you know the stuff, explain it, and you can still get the points, even if you get the question wrong. Don't get me wrong, this class is HARD. But she is a very good teacher. You have to do a research paper and present to the class.
I loved professor Kopp! She has high expectations, but she is very clear about them and extremely helpful if students come to learn. Read the chapters before class--I can't stress this enough. She goes through the lectures quick and if you haven't read the chapter you'll get lost. Kopp is amazing, but come to work!
She doesn't handle questions well, but she knows the material and lectures well. Go to class and read and you'll do fine
Attendance is not mandatory, but she has random quizzes and assignments so you pretty much have to go to class to get an A. Sometimes her accent was a little thick, but overall she explains things very well.
Very good teacher. Very hard class. Tests are next to impossible, except the final for some reason. Class average for tests ranged from the mid 50's to mid 70's depending on how many chapters were on the test. About 12 pop quizzes, a research paper that must be presented to class, 5 tests & a final, drops low test, no curve grading. Hard but good!
She gets frustrated with stupid questions. Meaning she doesnt like it when you know what you are talking about. very nice lady. She is willing to help if you put in lots of hours. she does expect you to figure it out on your own.
Dr. Kopp is a fantastic professor. She's extremely smart, and she knows how to make her students learn. I came away from her class with more knowledge than any other course I have ever taken. That's the definition of a good teacher.
Dr. Kopp is straight forward in her teaching approach. She is fair, despite what you may hear from the former 'premed' students that failed her class. :)
She explains everything very well, and always answer your questions. She checks email daily, so if you cant understand accents (it really isnt that bad) you can email her an she will reply promptly. She cares about students and always keeps you updated on internship/career opportunities. Shes a littlestrict on talking,so come t class ready to learn
This teacher's tests were hard! The material is somewhat difficult, but manageable. Some people did really well on her tests, but I averaged a C+ to B range. She will take a farely simple principle and try and twist it to trick you on the test. Beware of her trickery! Good teacher though. :)
This class is very difficult and demanding. Dr Kopp is the best professor at UVU. If you're looking for any easy A, don't take her, however, if you're planning on learning Biology, she will do anything to help students learn. You can't be lazy. Read the chapters before class and you'll do well. I would highly recommend her.
Extremely helpful teacher. Class is really hard, but she welcomes and answers your questions. 1 test is dropped, along with a quiz. Moves quickly. Only way to pass class is to read material before class. She expects you to teach self and she is there for help/questions/review. If you want to learn subject take Kopp, if not take Whaley.
Good Professor. she really wants her students to learn the material.
Dr. Kopp is a very demanding professor, but she will teach you alot if you put in the time. Her test questions are confusing so it's important to write down explanations on tests. If getting an A is your only priority, this may not be the class for you because it is difficult to get an A unless you study 10-15 hours a week for this course.
Dr. Kopp is a great teacher. She really wants you to learn and know the material. Her tests are difficult but she lets you explain your answers on a separate paper for extra credit, meaning that she really wants you to know the material. She does everything she can do to help you. If you don't get a good grade its because you didn't try hard enough
Dr. Kopp truly cares that her students learn. I think she even gets her feelings hurt if people aren't learning. She is patient with questions others wouldn't be and explains the concepts very well. She is even willing to go to student study groups in order to help them understand the material. She is an excellent teacher, one of the best.
Professor Kopp is in my opinion the best teacher at UVU. She is extremely organized, helpful and knowlegable. She expects the student to learn biology very well, and she teaches accordingly. Attendence and reading are highly recommended if not absolutly necissary to get an A. I would recommend also joining a study group.
Professor Kopp is my favorite teacher! She's a genius and probably one of the best professors on campus. She is always extremely helpful. It's awesome how she gets so into questions that you ask! She's great at getting you excited about things! I DEFINITELY recommend her class! Ask a lot questions in class, she seems to get a kick out of it!!
She's a genius and knows her stuff inside and out. Expects a lot from her students (too much in my opinion for a lower-level class). Read the lesson material, attend class and study groups and you may just pass. Maybe. Be forewarned; this is NOT Bio 101! Put on your big-kid underpants and prepare to work them off!
Dr. Kopp is AWESOME! She wants students to succeed. Be prepared to work your tail off!!! Do all the assignments, go to class, go to study groups, read before class and ALWAYS write explanations on tests. I was able to move one of my test scores up by 10% (avg 5%). She is fair, knows her stuff and will always help. Highly recommened!!! A's are poss.
Professor Kopp is awesome! Although she is hard to understand because of her strong accent she is very smart and wants to make sure her students understand the topic. To do well in this class you have to work and study quite a bit, but she does give many resources such as mastering biology, power points and study guides which really help.
Professor Kopp is a great teacher, I would highly recommend her. She definately knows her stuff and wants her students to succeed. She is very organized and uses power points that she always keeps updated online. The homework and textook are done with Mastering Biology.
I would highly recommend you to take Kopp's class! Her teaching helps me understand biology very clearly and the homework is easy! The tests are simple!
Amazing teacher, brilliant and willing to help you in whatever way possible. She demands a lot and you absolutely MUST read the chapters before she lectures on them. Tests are very application oriented, which I guess is hard for some students. Final is easy. I really loved the class and if you put in the effort there is no reason not to get an A.
Professor Kopp is amazing, she is always willing to help you. I learned so much taking her class. I love her class.
She is wonderful! She is from Cambodia so she has a strong accent but will go over everything until everyone understands it. Extra credit given which is great. She knows her stuff and gives it in simple terms. I would take it again from her in a heartbeat!
go to class if you want a good greade!! she is a really dedicated teacher and will help you. make sure to read and that you understand the material. get in a study group. kopp will make you work hard for your grade so make sure you do your part!
Great teacher, learned a lot. If you go to class and do the homework and reading, you will get an A. She really cares about students and wants you to succeed.
Dr Kopp in my opinion is the best Science Professor at UVU. She teaches extremely well and pushes students to actually succede in learning the material rather than just slack off and hand out A's. She is kind, caring, knowledgable and very loving. She is a great example of how all educators should teach!
Dr Kopp in my opinion is the best Science Professor at UVU. She teaches extremely well and pushes students to actually succede in learning the material rather than just slack off and hand out A's. She is kind, caring, knowledgable and very loving. She is a great example of how all educators should teach!
Her tests are hard, and poorly written, but she let's you explain why you answered what you answered, and gives you more points, so that is more helpful. I wished she had a review day to go over things, and stop having random students teach things in front of class, that always bothered me because they aren't the teacher I signed up for
You will get a good grade and be prepared for any mcat or dat tests you have to take if you read the chapter and go to class. Very helpful teacher. Extremely well versed in biology.
Kopp is a wonderful professor. The material is hard, and you shouldn't take this class if you're not planning to work, but if she can tell that you're trying to learn, she will move mountains for you. Always attend class to get your clicker points and STUDY MASTERING BIOLOGY for the tests.
Pro. Kopp is very knowledgeable about biology that is for sure. Any question, no matter how intricate, she can answer. There is a little bit of a language barrier. Her tests are very hard (about a paragraph you need to analyze each). She is pretty forgiving and gives some points back on tests. If you want a hard teacher then taker her. Good Luck!
The structure of the class is perfect. The highest test score I got in the class was 78% and walked away with 85% in the class. Hardest class I've ever taken, but I learned so much! Dr. Kopp is a little tricky to understand at first, but not bad. Funny and nice. Go to class and read the book.
Professor Kopp in my opinion is one of the best Bio teachers out there. Her tests are hard but fair. She makes you know the material and if you don't read the book you will be lost. Very courteous on grading and give points backs. Not an easy class but if you are willing to work you'll will get an A!
Dr. Kopp is an amazing teacher! She is knowledgeable and she knows how to relay information in way that is easy to understand. If you put forth an effort in this class you will get an A. She's great to work with and passionate about what she's teaching.
I took this as a summer class. I got an A. The test information come from the notes in class, and the powerpoint slides. There is no curve, but the test are not too bad, and there are extra credit sections as well. Read the book before class, and you should do great! She wants to help her students.
She seemed to have a short temper with students. There are definitely things she can do to improve her teaching skills, but she knows her stuff.
Great teacher. Hard to understand at first but you get use to the language barrier. Super helpful and willing to work with you. Double check your test scores cause she makes mistakes often. Very nice lady and very smart. 4 tests & drops one. Then the final test which is comprehensive. Difficult class and you need to take good notes and attend class
Dr. Kopp is one of the best teachers at UVU. Top three that I have taken at UVU. She makes you work for your grade but lets you write on your exam for partial credit. Quiz every class on assigned reading but you can find most of the questions on quizlet. Her lectures are so clear and she certainly knows her stuff. Go to class and you will do fine.
Super knowledgeable professor. Not easy, so don't expect to be taken by the hand. You have to study hard and work for your grade. No easy rides here and I loved every minute of it.
Goes over the material several times, so ask if you have a question. Tests are fairly tough, and are comprehensive of what you've done so far, so make sure to study up. Uses iClicker quizzes. You can get a subscription at reef education for $6 and use your phone or computer, instead of getting a $100 clicker.
Dr. Kopp is amazing. You can tell she is extremely passionate about biology during her lectures and she shares real world examples of what you're learning about. She gives credit on her tests so you can potentially get over 100. If you read the book and can answer the questions at the end of the chapters then you are golden. 4 tests and she drops 1
Dr. Kopp is the best. The class is very straight forward. You have a quiz due before class on the chapter you are reading, and all the answers can be found on quizlet. Read the chapters. The class material is not easy, but Dr. Kopp is willing to answer any question you have and she knows her stuff!
Dr. Kopp is a great teacher. Her method of teaching requires you to actually learn the material, rather than just memorize some definitions. She is very knowledgeable and friendly, and wants her students to succeed. Clicker is required, so is access to the text. She provides an atmosphere that efficiently facilitates actual learning.
Loved Dr. Kopp's class. She cares about her students and wants them to succeed.
This class is hard for a reason. It is to weed out those who can't cut it.
This was a hard class. We covered 4 chapters per test and that was WAY too much. Her tests are designed to trick you giving ever possible solution, so you better know your stuff. Get the mastering biology and practice your the questions, some of those end up on the tests and it will get you ready for how she tests.
Makes you work for your A but it's worth it. You learn a lot, she is straight forward and cares about her students. She wants you to succeed, pay attention, do the reading and USE THE SI SESSIONS! Offers extra credit, clicker quizzes in class each day for attendance so show up on time!! Also review your tests outside of class, be her friend(:
If you don't read the book you will fail. She is very kind and will take the time to talk to you after class. The lectures are great and easy to understand if you have read the chapter before hand. If you have not there is really no point in going. During every lecture she has a quiz. Tests are about 40 questions and cover about 4 chapters.
If you're a pre health major and you have to take the MCAT or DAT, Dr Kopp will give you the tools you need to do well. She gives you plenty of chances to succeed and learn the material but if you're looking for the easiest 1610 class to take- keep looking.
Olga's class is tough but if you put the work in you will do well because she genuinely wants every one of her students to succeed. Don't be afraid to meet with her one on one. She is willing to do whatever it takes to help you understand the material and enjoy her class. Her class is a lot of work, but I would not take it from anyone else.
The hardest class I've ever taken. Had to study for HOURS, which I've never had to do in order to master the material. I had physics and this class; got a B+ in both. My study ratio was prob 12 hours to 1, in favor of bio. Dr. Kopp lectures like we're graduate students, but if you don't understand, she'll do everything she can to help. SHE CARES!
Dr. Kopp is an outstanding professor. She is amazing. Yes, she is hard. She knows her stuff and she expects you to put in the time necessary to succeed. She wants her students to succeed and she will help you! There is a little language barrier for the first few days but after that it is wonderful. She has a passion and she wants you to succeed!!!!
She has a heavy spanish accent, but very nice and good at answering your questions
She doesn't really specify what was going to be on tests. She expects you to memorize EVERYTHING.
Dr. Kopp is one of my favorite professors of all time. Not only is she a great professor, but she is a great human being. She truly cares about her students and their understanding of material. She's absolutely brilliant, kind, and approachable. Quizzes in class are done in small groups. She drops 1 out of 4 test scores. The SI sessions really help
Prof. Kopp is a great teacher and I loved her class. Beware though, if you do not study for her tests you will not get a good grade on them. The tests are a large majority of your grade too. She is a fun teacher though very quirky and cute in her own way. :)
Dr. Kopp is one of the best professors at UVU, but she's hard. I learned a lot from her style of teaching. There are a lot of quizzes and assignments most of which are open book, notes, and people. She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities and is willing to work with you and help you understand the information, she's a prof that likes to teach!
Dr. Kopp is so great! She is so adorable. I learned a lot in this biology class. I haven't taken Bio since 9th grade so I had to go back to the very basics before I could understand what the teacher was teaching. What really helped me, like the reason why I got a good grade was because I went to the SI sessions. That is how I got a good grade.
Dr. Kopp is probably the best professor i've had so far. She actually cares about her students, she is extremely knowledgeable, and she teaches thoroughly and efficiently. I love her! Use the study guides, make sure you know everything on them and you'll do great. She does in class quizzes, there are a couple short papers, and four tests.
Dr. Kopp is the best! She is very nice and caring. At the end of the day Biology 1610 is a challenging class but she really is a great teacher. I didn't take 1010 before this and I worked pretty hard and I will probably end with an A-. Very fair grader. Merciful at that. You'll need to study that's for sure. She gives a free download of textbook.
This woman changed my life! Because of her I changed my major to science. I cant say enough good things about her! I learned so much from her and she cares about her students to the next level! She is so amazing. She has interesting slides, very knowledgeable and always bringing cutting edge discoveries into the material. LOVE LOVE LOVE OLGA! 3
She expects yo to learn everything from reading your textbook. I don't feel like she really teaches anything. You are expected to learn from reading, come to class and answer concept-based questions. I took her for 1st block in summer, and you truly are incredibly unlikely to pass if you take any other classes concurrently.
Dr Kopp expects you to work hard and come prepared to class having a basic understanding of the subject matter from the reading. Detailed lectures. YOU CAN DEFEND ANSWERS ON TESTS, WRONG ANSWERS STILL RECEIVE PARTIAL CREDIT. It's a tough class, but I would take Kopp's class again in a heartbeat because she is a great professor and a great person.
I suck at Biology, but I LOVED taking Dr Kopp's class. She cares about biology, and she cares that you pass. She didn't just expect you to know terms, she actually applied the biology. It was very easy to understand the concepts the way she would explain it. Participation also helped a lot too. Make friends, and you can work together to understand!
Prof. Kopp does an amazing job of explaining the material clearly, so that the whole class understands. She is patient in having to go back and explain things. She moves quick and keeps you on your toes. Reading on your own makes all the difference. She is reasonable when it comes to how hard tests are and gives you all the info to prepare for them
Dr. Kopp is an awesome teacher. She really cares about each student and wants you to succeed. She expects you to read the textbook and you need an iclicker or the app to take the in class quizzes. She definitely takes time to make sure the material is learned in class. Tests are difficult but not at all surprising. She also gives extra credit.
Dr. Kopp is so caring and really helps her students succeed. The tests are challenging but if you attended class you should know the material. The in class questions are a great assessment for your level of knowledge on the material and prep for tests. She is great. Her Spanish accent is totally understandable. Classes were enjoyable.
Pro. Kopp is so amazing. I absolutely loved her class. It is difficult but most students in this class are going to med or dental school anyway so we really have to learn it. She is inspirational and kind. Will work with you during office hours on whatever you need. Always emails back. Make sure to read the modules!!!
She was so willing to help her students. Loved her enthusiasm for the subject. Need to come to class and take notes to pass. Assignments were useful and helped to understand the subject. Her accent is hard to understand sometimes but you get used to it. She loves her students and wants them ALL to succeed
Professor Kopp was outstanding! She wanted each and every one of her students to succeed and was willing to help in anyway that she could & was very in depth about explaining things. All around the best professor i've had. She also goes out of her way to remember her students names which means a lot. She made a difficult course enjoyable.
350 characters is not enough to say how amazing Dr. Kopp is, literally. She is a wealth of knowledge and wants you to succeed. Tests are only hard because she wants you to apply the knowledge she gives you, but she truly cares about her students. I learned so much, and this prepared me greatly for later classes.
Olga really cares about her students and does her best to help us with class and general college success and opportunities. She will answer questions you have. She LOVES participation, if you don't like to comment, ask/answer questions in class you will have a hard time understanding material. She is by far one of the best professors I have had!
Great teacher, she can be funny too! Learn how to MANAGE YOUR TIME if you want to pass this class. Take the time to read the textbook and come prepared to class.
Olga emphasizes "Think, pair, and share", meaning that you get to try and solve a problem, then work with others. She loves participation and cooperation. She gives clear examples on the board and gives plenty of online resources for students to rely on. She gives great simple applications to what we are learning and loves to draw it out.
Dr. Kopp is sooo involved in trying to help her students succeed. She is more than willing to answer questions inside or outside of class. Just put in the time and everything will work out for you.
This class was HARD. There is a lot of reading, a lot of studying, and a lot of difficult material. However, Dr. Kopp is one of the most caring and intelligent professors I've ever had. She answers your questions and genuinely wants you to succeed. This class was a lot of work, but you definitely learn a lot.
Dr. Kopp is the best professor I've had thus far in school! She truly cares about all her students and wants you to succeed! She is an absolute genius when it comes to biology and she does everything she can to prepare you for her tests. If you need help just ASK and she will be there. Tons of extra credit and resources to help you through.
I love Professor Kopp, she is one of the best professors I have ever had! She wants her students to learn and understand, not just pass. If you want to learn take her class, it will prepare you for following classes. Just do the reading and stay caught up on your work and you'll easily pass.
Professor Kopp by far the most caring and best professor I've ever had. She is the reason why I am on my current research project, why fell in love with biology, why I am now a biology tutor, and she taught me how to test and study well. She has changed my life! I learned SO much in her class. It is a difficult course, but it prepares you SO well.
She was a good professor and very willing to help you succeed. However, she teaches at a very difficult level. In order to really do well in her class, you have to have a really solid and base understanding of biology. If you don't I would take an easier professor.
Professor Kopp truly wants to see her students succeed and offers a lot of extra credit opportunities and wonderful resources for success. Her lectures arent very organized so some concepts can be difficult to understand but shes more than willing to help.
Olga is Amazing! I knew practically nothing about Biology, but she helped me go from knowing zilch to passing a college course that was intended for biology Majors. She is a funny lady who really truly cares about her students. Love her! The bad reviews are likely from people who didn't do the work. If you don't do the work, you won't pass (duh)
Professor Kopp has been one of my favorite professors! She truly cares about her students, and actually wants you to succeed. As long as you do the work, just reach out to her and she will work with you to ensure you understand topics and succeed. I would definitely recommend her!
I love Dr Kopp! I would not recommend her class though. She states there is no busy work but I was swamped. There are pre-class and post-class quizzes, homework assignments, in class clicker quizzes, in class group assignments, surveys, exams, etc. The classwork was extensive. However, she was generous with her time and is a very kind professor.
Dr. Kopp is a professor that really cares about her students. However, THIS CLASS WAS DIFFICULT. I ended up with an A, but I spent hours upon hours each day studying for this class. She is always available outside of class. I had other friends taking BIOL 1610 at the same time, and their prof/classes were MUCH easier. Something to consider.
Olga is a dream teacher! She is so funny and really cares about her students. This course is hard but she helps you with anything you need. Some people say her accent is hard to understand, but I had no problem with it! I love everything about her! She is so respectful towards students and helps me with anything at anytime of day.
Olga Kopp truly cares about her students. If there was a concept I was struggling with, she took the time to send additional resources to help me succeed. She makes herself available to answer any questions, go over tests, etc. As long as you put in the effort, you will succeed in her class. By far my favorite professor.
Incredible professor. She is willing to do anything for her students. When class went to online due to COVID she gave tons of resources to still be able to learn in the best way. She makes biology exciting and she has a good sense of humor that makes lectures interesting. All assignments are designed to enhance learning and bring your grade up!
Olga Kopp's online biology class can be absurdly time-consuming, but I feel like I'm learning the material better than I would have otherwise. As long as you go into the online class prepared to spend a lot of time with it, there's much worse classes and teachers you could be stuck with.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS ONLINE! I would say I am a good student who puts in the work, taking this class online was the worst thing I have ever done. It is all pre-recorded videos so you can't really ask questions. I reached out to her multiple times saying how I was struggling and not understanding and she told me to get more sleep. She was NOT good
Dr. Kopp is an amazing teacher! She Is very understanding and 100% wants her students to succeed. Youll never find a teacher who cares more for her students success. I took this class during COVID and although I didnt get any face to face lectures, she had many many many resources for her students to succeed
She is amazing! One of the most attentive professors Ive ever had. She is brilliant and willing to help you if you dont understand anything. She holds review sessions twice a week to help answer any questions. She gives quite a bit of extra credit and drops the lowest test. Definitely want to take more classes from her
I truly believe Dr. Kopp is one of UVU's finest. She is an amazing educator and puts so much work into making sure that students learn and succeed. I always learn SO MUCH from her. Her class isn't hard, but you need to show up, do quality work, and put a genuine effort into learning and applying it all.
This classes structure has been the hardest thing I have ever done in my college career, and I am graduating this semester. The structure is overwhelming and expect 10 emails per week and too many resources. Expected to be able to teach it to someone else. Feels like a stack of textbooks has been thrown at me, with exams being extremely difficult.
Professor Kopp is very hard to follow, she speaks as if you have studied biology for 20 years prior. The way this class was structured was harder than any class I've ever taken. Be prepared for insanely hard tests and lots of lecture quizzes.
This class was the hardest class I've ever taken. But, Dr. Kopp's teaching style was my saving grace. As long as you do the things that she assigns each week, you're going to do just fine. Her lectures are decently understandable (although a bit confusing at times). She really wants you to succeed. Do the work and all will be well.
There is a looot of work, but it's not very hard. Lots of little videos & small quizzes. Lots of discussions & assignments. She sends lots of announcements that filled up my inbox. But I could tell she was super nice, & wanted me to succeed. She was responsive & gave feedback. At first it was overwhelming, but after a while I got the hang of it.
Olga really cares about her students and so you will receive more emails form her than any other professor you've every had. There is a lot of reading, a lot of mini quizzes, and every module has some form of research project where you answer questions on a mutation or condition. Exams are very detailed and your lowest one is dropped
I absolutely loved Dr. Kopp! Her style of grading revolves around the idea that you will get the grade you want, because she allows you to redo everything as many times as it takes to get the grade you desire. She is always willing to meet up and help you with anything. Highly recommend her!
Professor Kopp is a very kind lady. It's obvious that she wants all of her students to succeed. The only complaint I have is that she sends a lot of emails. It wasn't uncommon to receive 10 emails from her each week. As a person who likes a clear inbox, this was a little irritating for me. I would have preferred a weekly email.
Be prepared to have 23 assignments due EVERY SATURDAY. If you mention there is incorrect information in the lecture, she will tell you you're wrong and to relook at the information... even though that's where you got the information. She expects group work for an online class.
Although this class was difficult, Professor Kopp was an amazing teacher. Her entire course is very easy to follow but requires lots of studying and reading. If you're willing to put in the work she is great and always willing to communicate and help you. Despite the large amount of assignments I actually enjoyed this class and I learned a lot.
This class had the perfect amount of homework. Lots of small point quizzes after each lecture that you can take twice. She teaches you EVERYTHING you need to know for the tests and emphasizes the really important information. She always responded to my email by the end of the day (mostly within the hour though). She wants everyone to do well!
Literally the hardest class I have ever taken. I DO NOT recommend taking her class. There are like 15 assignments due each WEEK! The tests are the hardest tests I've ever taken, and the reviews have nothing to do with what you are tested on. She often will put questions in the test that are from the next module and she won't fix it. DONT TAKE HER!!
You can tell that pro Kopp wants you to pass and succeed. It's a hard class and you are put into teams that can help with assignments. There's a lot of reading. She great at responding to emails and helping when needed. It was a hard class but with a lot of study you can pass.
Although this class was hard, Olga was super helpful and cared about my success, she wants you to be able to apply what you learn, which depending on your career choice is a big help, this class has taught me to be open to learn and not just word and definition, get into study groups and study with them it'll help in the long run. loved this class
The class will take a lot of your time and the quizzes and tests will be tough. She expects you to be spending 12 hours a week in the class and if you don't then it will be hard to understand the material. Do the work and work with your group so that you can get a good grade.
So I'm a pretty good student I do things on time I work hard. She is by far the hardest professor I've had. She makes her class way overcomplicated I would study my butt off for tests and still do horrible. In addition when I asked for help I would be told to just read the instructions or to make sure I got a good rest. Its frustrating.
She was very helpful if I had any questions. She also had review sessions that were awesome. The tests were difficult and no matter how hard I studied/ thought I knew the material I never did well. She was kind and tried her best to help but the tests were way hard.
Coach Kopp works really hard to make an online course enjoyable while still being rigorous enough to teach you something. I was genuinely impressed with her course, especially compared to other online courses I've taken from the UVU College of Science.
Professor Kopp is so kind! I really enjoyed her class. It was intense and challenging, but she was alway there if we needed help.
Professor Kopp is my all-time favorite professor, when the other reviews said how caring she was I didn't believe them until I took her and realized just how true that is. One word of advice is to attend all of the review sessions she holds since those are where you will learn the majority of your info. Also, finding a partner to work with is great
Professor Kopp was ok, she was meeting with us via Zoom, but her tests were so difficult!
Professor Kopp is amazing. Her class is hard. She pushes you, but isn't unreasonable. She wants you to learn. She is passionate about what she teaches. She makes herself available to anyone who wants help. Go to all of the reviews. Take advantage of all the help and extra credit. Put in the effort, and you'll get the grade you want.
Professor Kopp is very kind and is willing to provide help in any way you need. She provides study guides for the class (I recommend filling out while doing reading and videos. Allowed on tests). Has reviews (recorded) over microsoft teams twice a week - very helpful. Ours were on T/Th night @7pm. Some team projects, discussions. Doable.
This class was online, but Dr. Kopp was great! She is a tough grader, but you get the opportunity to redo your work. There is a TON of group work, so find a good group or you're screwed. Really not that difficult of a class, but assignments take quite a bit of time.
Professor Kopp's BIO1610 class is challenging, but engaging. While the tests are tough, her review sessions and unstuckstudy are super helpful for preparing. Put in the work and you'll learn a lot.
The class wasn't very hard. I did need to put some time into the class to watch the lectures, but professor Kopp explains things very well and provides lots of resources to help. There's some extra credit available, particularly if you work with other students on discussion posts.
Group heavy which is annoying for an online class, but no tests and pretty easy grader and lax with late work if it's only a couple days. Good with communication and feedback esp for an online class. I was going to be half a % off an A and she bumped me up without me even asking! Really nice, and you can tell she loves the subject!!
Really enjoyed this online class, there's quite a bit of group work so that could be hard for some people but overall recommend her
