Olga is an amazing teacher. She is young, very funny, and loves to help all students whenever possible. She is tough and require a lot of speaking in class, but this only helps you to understand the subject. I would take her again if she was teaching upper level classes! DEF take her if you want a fun atmosphere mixed with actual learning.
She is probably the best professor I have ever had. She is young and makes class very fun. While attendance is mandatory I always look forward to coming to class. She makes all of her lessons easy for everyone understand. If one person in the class does not get it, we will continue to work together to make sure everyone understands. LOVE HER!
I have never had a teacher more eager to help students then Olga. Class is extremely fun and entertaining. She's young and energetic which helps her to relate to students! I highly recommend this instructor to anybody!
Very eager to help students; there's pretty much no way that you should be doing badly in this class. She wants you to get the highest grade that you can. Fun class and easy to learn.
Truly the best professor I've ever had. I love that she is a native speaker of Spanish and says things in real world context, not just the textbook way. She is always willing to help after class if you need it and makes learning fun. Hope she teaches Spanish 2040 in the Fall so I can take her class again!
She is very young but I think this makes her easier to communicate with. She is very patient with students and has no problems repeating herself. She's very approachable and extremely helpful. She also makes it really hard to fail her class, she gives lots of extra credit!
If you need SPAN 1020 take her class! She wants you to succeed and will give you every opportunity to do so. The class is fun and you will learn the language.
She is really a great teacher. She will help you in any way that you need it. She truly wants everyone to do good in her class and will be there to help. She makes everything really clear and explains it in more than one way. I would recommend her to anyone especially if you have been struggling in previous classes.
She really wants you to learn the language and if you at least try and do everything she asks you will pass the class. Tests are simple and she REALLY prepares you for them. Expects you to learn the vocab rather than simply memorize it. All around a good professor!
She really does want you to do well. Best spanish class I've ever taken. Strict, but for good reason.
She was the best Spanish teacher I had!! She was very very helpful. She does not want students to fail so she will help in many ways. The class is not hard at all if you just study and go to class. I HIGHLY recommend taking her class if you can.
She is a really good teacher. She helps out a lot! And most of the time she goes out of her way to do it. The only way you can fail the class is if you don't go. If you study what you're supposed to and go to class you can pass with a high grade.
This professor is AWESOME!!!This was a required course I had to take and although I'm not a fan of Spanish she was VERY helpful. She makes the course fun and easy. She requires you to attend class, bring your textbook, and do the labs. HIGHLY RECOMMEND you to take her!!!
AWESOME professor!!!She's very helpful, easy, and fun. I highly recommend you take her.
Shes A really fun, attractive teacher, that jokes around, but is kind of strict at the same time. Only cause she wants you to actually succeed in her class. work isnt too hard and she lets you out of class early 70% of the time.
Olga is very helpful. If you do not understand something she is happy to help. I really hate spanish, but she has mad it bearable.
Olga Mandujano is such an amazing teacher. You can tell that she really wants every one of her students to succeed. If you study the reviews, you will make great grades on the exams. During class she explains the course material in detail. HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!
Great Professor, she'll do everything in her power to help you succeed, but you have to do the work, ESPECIALLY my spanish lab!
Olga is a'ight. She can be a little intimidating with her fast-paced class, but she doesn't sugar coat the lessons, which ultimately helps you in the long run. Olga won't be your "favorite teacher" because she's "so funny" or "so sweet" or anything. If you like her, it will be because you like efficiency and getting out of class early
Awesome prof! Extremely helpful if she knows you are trying. Definitely not a pushover or blowoff class and you will need to study, but she makes the material easy to learn and so willing to help! LOVED HER AND WOULD RECOMMEND
She makes everything a bit harder which helps out on the tests because the material is not as bad.
She is a really great teacher, but the material is pretty difficult. I enjoyed her class though. She will be strict at first, but she just wants everyone to pay attention. She's awesome
I honestly have no clue what all these comments are talking about her being helpful and concise. She is constantly telling the class that it is not her job to teach us grammar. The whole class all you do is teach yourself from the book assignments that she never strays from. I feel like she puts more effort into her outfit than how she can help us.
If you are looking for a QUICK A do not take her, however if you are looking for a challenge she is your teacher this was my first time taking Spanish and it was stressful I would study the chapters before class so I could participate {yes you will fail if you do not attend class or participate}Do your myspanishlab & talk to her she will help you
She was very clear during class. She is very nice and willing to help when needed. As long as you study for the tests and semi-weekly vocab quizzes you will do really well in this class.
Olga Mandujano is a consistent teacher. Just do your homework, online lab and study and you'll do fine. She's young and relatable and will always help you with what she can. I recommend her if you want to learn Spanish but don't if you want a blow off class.
it was hard to pay attention to the book while i was looking at the professora speak to me in spanish.
You also have to purchase the code for My Spanish Lab for this class. There is homework due each week that can either make or break your grade. This class is fairly easy if you participate in class and do your MSL.
This class is fairly simple. Attendance in mandatory, participation plays a huge role in this class, I know the language, but lost a lot of points because I wasn't actively participating. The class and professor as a whole is great though. Be interactive and always raise your hand! Senorita Olga is always willing to help!
You will use your textbook every day in class and every week you will have hw due on mymathlab. (including week of thanksgiving) I come from a spanish speaking home but still thought class was pretty easy. She comes off strict but means well. You are required to read before you get to class and if you do that class will be do-able. I loved her!
Very text book driven, online homework is mandatory, along with participation in class/attendance. Can answer your questions but doesn't explain the best.
She's tough in class but outside of class she is very kind and helpful. She speaks almost entirely in Spanish the entire class, you need the book every day, and if you don't do the online homework you're toast. She can be strict but she means well. When she's angry, she gets extremely snippy. If you have questions see her after class, she'll help.
Clear in what she expects from you, as long as you do your work you will be fine! She is helpful, and doesn't put you down for not knowing something.
Her class is difficult, but if you need help she will aid you. There are 10 random quizzes and attendance is graded so you have to go. I would definitely recommend taking her. As long as you do the work, you will do well.
Very flexible and willing to help. Genuinly cares for your grade and really learning the language. Respectful and enjoyable
I've had her two semesters in row because I love her teaching style. She is willing to work with you when it comes to grades, however you've got to show hard work. If you slack off in this class she will notice. I'd definitely take hee again!
Easy class if you show up and do the homework online, teacher is easy on the eyes as well.
Very helpful if you have a question about the material. The online homework every week is tedious but all the spanish classes at UNT are like that.
You need to participate in class or you'll get a bad grade. You also need to go to class. It isn't hard to make an A, but I find going to class every day with enthusiasm rather difficult.
She is very helpful. Very fast, but easy to keep up with. She does quizzes over vocab very often.
She's very helpful and will work with you as long as you put in effort to do so. It is very important to participate in class actively.
Very cute, helpful, but all you do in class is read lessons out of the book.
She's awesome! Take her if you need Spanish! Or even if you don't she's great
Great professor overall. She is a tad bit strict . It's best to go to class every day . She encourages participation in class. The class is easy to pass if you do good on the pop quizzes, exams, have good attendance, and participate. Also , she is eager to help all student .
She genuinely cares that you understand the material and that you succeed in her class. She is very helpful and will answer any of your questions. Attendance is mandatory and you are required to do the online homework. She speaks mostly in Spanish throughout the class, clearly and directly. She's awesome!
Attendance is a must, speaking out loud is highly encouraged to have a good grade, but overall she's very helpful and you will always be well prepared for your tests. There are many pop quizzes you should read your textbook outside of class for though. Make sure you do online homework every week!
Attendance is key as well as the online lab, but if you keep up with that it should be a easy A. She's a good teacher and knows how to explain things. I liked her.
I had Profesora Olga for 1010 and 1020 and I liked her class both times. Just be sure to keep up with the vocabulary for quizzes and do the online work every week, both of these things can make or break your grade.
NO phones, NO talking in class, DO NOT be late or absent or you WILL fail. If you follow the rules she's really cool. Do All the homework, It's tedious and you have to read ahead in the book sometimes & I'd say be prepared to study at least 3-5 hrs a week at home but if you do all of this and keep up with vocab you'll get a good grade for sure.
She starts speaking Spanish on day one! Don't freak out though because if you do all the homework and participate in class, you should be fine!!! Attendance is mandatory but it helps your grade and she's a great professor that wants to help you succeed.
I loved having this professor for Spanish 1010! She's awesome!!
Speaks predominant Spanish from the beginning makes a step learning curve, very challenging. I'd prefer someone who speakers more English to help teach.
This professor is extremely clear, and her class is an easy A if you study and do your work. In Spanish 1010, you don't even get out of the present tense. So there's no reason to make a bad grade. She can be a little harsh to students asking questions, but she is fair and knowledgeable.
Doesn't anwer questions well if you're asking outside of the box or being creative. She restricts you to what you know and what is right now. Speaks spanish all semester, so say mande a lot so she can repeat what she said
Show up to class, participate, do the homework and youll be fine. Shes a really helpful professor, dont be alarmed by her speaking spanish on thr first day
Pretty standard situation. She is quite knowledge and tries to immerse you in the language immediately which seems daunting but really helped me personally; however, my other classmates absolutely HATED that. She is also nice and is easy to look at which is a plus. She puts you in groups a lot though which I'm not a fan of.
Always show up and do all the homework, make sure you participate in class because a lot of your grade comes with participation. YOU NEED THE BOOK and DO the homework.
Señora Mandujano was a great professor. Learning Spanish is not an easy task. In the beginning, hearing Spanish all class is intimidating, but it helps in the end. If you show up to class and do the homeworks, you will do fine in the class! She always offers outside help if you are really struggling. She'll definitely prepare you for SPAN 1020!
Was a great professor! She really made learning a new language easier. This class has a lot of busy work, but that's via the department so there's no avoiding it. THE CLASS I TAUGHT IN SPANISH! so be prepared for that.
This professor is one of the best professor I've ever had. If you're going to take Spanish 1, take her class. She really wants you to learn the material. I love that she doesn't hand out grades and make you earn it. We do ALOT of class participation and practice which is great if you want to learn Spanish. Take her she's awesome!
She was one of the best professors I've ever had. She makes learning Spanish tolerable, and she's young so it's easy to relate to her. Participation is important but it won't be a problem because you will look forward to this class.
I had her for 1010 & 1020. Participation matters so as long as you're trying you'll be fine. You WILL be working with classmates every class. Study vocab beforehand and do the online homework. It can raise your overall grade by a couple points. She is tough, but fair so fon't expect a blow off class. She's there to teach Español!
Initially comes off as very tough, but you can tell that she genuinely cares about her students. If you don't show up or don't do the homework, you won't pass the class. She has pop quizzes throughout the semester, which are pretty basic--but not always easy--if you've done the homework. Teaches a flipped classroom. Good grader.
she is a good teacher just do your work
For an entry level Spanish class, it is challenging. She is very hard to please. Weather you pass or fail is on you as a student, not because her teaching is poor. I would not recommend this professor to anyone.
Profesora Mandujano es muy intelligente y cariñoso. She knows the language and is great at teaching. She doesn't put up with laziness or students who want to be babied. You have to be responsible and remember to do your homework on time--NO late work. (And yes, she is very good looking.)
Mandujano is a sweet prof, but she's tough as nails. You have to work so, so hard. She will scare you the first day of class with all the Spanish she uses, but you really will catch on quickly. Do NOT forget HW & attend every class - for real. Don't skip - all quizzes are pop. Not an easy A - you need to work a lot, but will learn a lot too.
You really have to work to earn the grade you want. She truly knows the material, and will strive to make you fluent! Make sure and do the iLrn homework thats online!
On the first day of class she told us that most of us would not pass. She's not very caring or understanding. this was the first class i failed in college an im an a/b student. for an entry level spanish class i would say run for the hills if she gets assigned to your class. 10/10 would NOT recommend. just rude and not encouraging.
Mandujano is by far one of THE BEST educators. Her teaching style helps prepare you for your future career. She gives pop quizzes which are over whatever was focused on recently. You need to study a lot for Spanish. Stay on top of the vocabulary & syllabus. You can succeed greatly in her course. She will make you a better student.
Look, if you struggled in Spanish like I did... Then I highly recommend you not take this professor. If you expect for her to help you learn then you are mistaken. She expects for you to come into class day one already fluent. I do not recommend, to anyone, ever.
Love her! She truly wants you to learn! Don't miss class, and you will do well. Keep up with the online homework!
The best teacher I have had for spanish at UNT. She pushes you and makes you feel like she actually wants you to succeed at the end of the course rather than just putting it all on you. She is a very HONEST grader she is difficult, but if you want to actually learn Spanish she is there for you. I would take her 10000x again.
Good professor, however she is a very tough grader for a class that is a requirement for so many people. I felt like I was in an advanced Spanish class even though it was beginning Spanish 2. If you have to take Spanish, i would take it with a different professor.
A very good professor who is clear and unwavering about due dates and instructions. If you do your work or really put any effort into the class she is very helpful and is genuinely interested in helping you succeed. Stay on top of assignments and pay attention during lecture and the class will be a breeze.
Show up! Participation is very important! She truly cares and wants you to build a strong foundation for the language.
She really cares about her students, not just their grades but their well-being. Spanish isn't easy to learn but she made it worth getting up for an 8 am. Easy to do well if you go to class and turn in assignments on time. Follows the syllabus to a T so it's very clear when things are due. Loved her and really hope I get her for 1020
I would only take her if you intend on learning Spanish to some extent. She is a great professor to the motivated student that wants to work. If that is not you then I do not recommend her. However she is really passionate about Spanish and it tends to rub off on her students.
Im not going to lie I struggled in this class. She really does make you work. Make sure to read the book and go over terms before you go into class. If you have any questions just ask her shes super helpful. You will get random pop quizzes so be prepared. But with all that being said I would definitely this class again. Shes very nice and sweet.
If you show effort, and the want to learn she will help you with whatever you need. She is a great teacher. Would take her again!
She tells you her expectations pretty clearly. No phones in class, you need to participate and do your homework. If you do what she says and ask questions when you dont understand then youll do well in the class.
Great professor just work hard and keep up
She doesn't make the class beginner level. From day one she expected everyone to just know the language it seemed. She threw out so much material and never told us when any of the quizzes would be. She talked about failure a lot and graded HARD. I had a tutor, asked her for help, did all the homework, and got nothing from her. Do not recommend.
If you dont know spanish then good luck. Day one she expects everyone to just know the language. She gives unannounced quizzes. A lot material. No phones. Shes very negative by stressing to students that she is not to afraid to fail anyone and that she is a hard grader. Do not recommend.
Profesora Mandujano was one of the best professors I have had at UNT from the Spanish department. She will explain anything you need help with during class if you have questions and gives you the option to go seek help during her office hours when you feel behind in class. Overall teaching style is direct but if disciplined you will do great.
She was seriously the best!! So helpful and easy to talk to when struggling.
Profesora Mandujano is one of the best Spanish teachers Ive probably ever had. Shes the kind of professor that will help you if you truly want to be helped and if you want to do well in her class. If you arent prepared and you dont care about learning Spanish then dont take her. She will go out of her way to help you and is a great instructor.
If this will be your first real experience with Spanish, I do not recommend. I was genuinely interested to learn the language, but her incredibly strict grading and no-nonsense attitude can make it incredibly tough for someone with a passing interest to get invested. Expect obtuse grading criteria and strict on-the-minute attendance grades.
Profesora Mandujano made the transition from in-class to online from the corona virus a BREEZE. she has uploaded plenty of material on Canvas for us to look at for extra help and made it easy to contact her when we needed help if we did not understand the material. i WILL be taking her classes again in the future. most sincere prof. ever from UNT.
Best experience Ive ever had with a college professor. Very clear and concise about what needs to be done makes it easy to follow along and know what youre getting graded on. Helpful and goes above and beyond when you need help or dont understand the material. I wish she taught every subject.
Online classes are tough, so for her to provide as much material as she does for us as extra help is amazing. Grateful for her to be so flexible in this pandemic and with everything that is going on outside of class as well as be so caring about our success in her class.
Moving online because of Covid-19 was scary at first but Professor Mandujano has made it easy. She has kept communication with us from the beginning of the transition and has been extremely helpful and gracious with the switch. Im definitely going to take her for 2040 with her if she teaches that course too.
Worst professor Ive ever had! Spanish isnt even my major and she treats this BEGINNERS COURSE as if it is. I went to class, did all my homework, attended tutoring before COVID-19 and now Ive barely managed to get a B and this is just the 2nd level of Spanish. I genuinely want to learn the language and considered it as a minor but after her class
Good prof overall. UNT does a bad job in SPAN1010 by making one semester of a language required for everyone. The 1010 teachers then pass everyone through, so the 1020 teachers have to review the 1010 material and teach 1020 at the same time. That said, she will make you work for your grade but is very understanding and funny outside of lectures,
