Terribe professor. Took this class online, his exact words "I want all of you to be online 24/7" whats the point of an online class than? Toooo much work this class had more work than all 4 of my classes. I finished all assignments took all tests and he still failed me. A complaint had been sent to the deans office.
This was an online class with an insane amount of homework compared to other online math classes I've taken. If the class overall did poorly on a test, he would allow for retakes. He was not timely keeping his grades current. If he would reduce the amount of homework and be timelier with grading and class dicussion, this would improve the class.
Horrible professor! He didnt follow the syllabus at all. He only graded us based on his own feelings. I am excellent in mathematics but he gave me a C. We never had reviews for test or anything!
If it's not going to be your life don't take the class. His class is very fast pace and he isn't very helpful. Math has always been one of my least favorite subjects but with some work I always did fine. Not true of this class. I never drop classes, but I dropped this one. Actually from what I hear most people dropped in all his classes.
Do not take this teacher. I repeat avoid this teacher at all costs. My class had approx. 35 students at the beginning and with a month to go only three of us remain.He tells students to do work on the chalkboard and then walks out of the room for long periods of time.His only method of teaching is copying definitions.I have learned nothing in class
This is by far the worst teacher I have ever taken. I normally do not complain about teachers but this one is terrible. My class had 32 people in at the beginning of the semester. Only 2 remain. 30 people have dropped. He ridicules his students and expects perfection. I strongly discourage anyone from from taking this teacher.
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS! i took this class online and it was nothing but high level of stress and problems with this guy. He never responded to any emails. It took me days to get a hold of him by the phone. When i did he was extremely rude and unproductive. WCCCD did absolutely nothing so far to make up for this terrible experience. Do Not chance it!
Terrible instructor. He has a thick accent and it is hard to understand him. He makes fun of his students, assigns work that is different from what he teaches, and has a high amount of quizzes and tests. Mr. Nwankwo also does not give extar credit assignments, nor does he allow people to do the work. It has to be completed a certain way. Avoid him.
This professor was not an effective teacher for me. He had no availability outside of class. He was significantly late most every class, which at times, cheated us students out of much needed time to complete a quiz or test. He also tended to put things on the quiz or test that we had not spent much or any time on in class.
Very rude, going to class when all homework is online (read out of the book), gets irritated when students aren't understanding the concepts like they're cake. He also wonders why like 27 out of 30 students fail his classes (because he doesn't teach the concepts very well, more like at all!) AVOID HIM
Prof. Nwankwo is not for students that want easy grades without doing any work. He teaches for understanding. I had him math 112, Math 155, and Math 156. I'll be taking him for Math 171. he is no nonsense teacher. To pass his class one has to be on top of his game. I know that taking his class will prepare me for further studies in Engineering.
This class was horrible. Professor is not helpful at all and assigns a lot of work. I took the class online and I was literally on the computer everyday do finish something. He does not explain things clearly and exams are just weird. He expects you to show work differently for problems differently from the book.DO NOT take with this professor.
I had Prof. Nwankwo for Math 156, Trig. He requires students to understand materials. This class is not for students that like to memorize things. He uses MyMathlab for online homework assignment. This tool is great, as it shows one how to solve those problems that otherwise would have been dificult for me. I enjoyed his class.
Teacher is absolutely useless. You can only pass his class if math is already easy. Whoever said his class isn't about memorization is wrong! All he did for his notes was copy out of the book!! I ended up dropping him and retaking the class the next semester with a quality teacher. Avoid this guy at ALL costs! You will regret taking this guy!!!!!!!
I had Professor Nwankwo for Math 155. He is detail-oriented and teaches for understanding of mterials.His class are for serious students. He does not give grades based on participation. If one does the online MyMathlab homework, which is great, and studies, passing his class becomes natural. This class helped me sharpen my mathematics skills.
I regret taking this class with him. I am a really hard worker and my average for homework on MyMathLab was 98.89% and i still couldn't pass his tests. He doesn't teach well. and on top of everything if you ask him any question, he just tells you verbally how to solve it instead of showing it on the board. waste of time and money! DON'T TAKE HIM !!
I had he for the first day of class and decide to drop him. he wasn't the kind of teacher i wanted.
I had over 5 online classes and this one was my worst experience. The work load is overwhelming. Ex: 1 chapter has upto 4 section, you must complete the following for each sections: DB (up to 12 problems), a homework assignment and a quiz, but 1 test for the entire chapter. This means up to 40 DB problems, 4 hw and quizzes and 1 test for 1 chapter
This teacher does not explain the subject but give you home work and test that he himself can not sove without the teacher's guide. Too much home workwith on the chapters he have not discussed. Avoid him all possible ways if not you will regret and your grades will suffer.
Although the subject is easy, hes test are only story problems so that's what makes them hard. and he can be sorta of hardheaded. He's a engineer for Ford, so his priority is not the class, so he gives your test results 2-3 weeks later which is ridiculous
This guy is horrible. He does not help you. He gives you different answers. You can only solve problems the way he tells you. He's rude and gets offended when you ask him to explain better. Also every test we had was all story problems
PLEASE DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. I HAD HIM FOR AN ONLINE CALC AND HE NEVER POSTED THE QUIZZES AND EXAMS WHEN THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE POSTED AND HE GAVE US ONLINE HW AND DISCUSSION BOARDS THAT TOOK ME HOURS TO DO. I PASSED ALL EXAMS AND QUIZZES AND DID ALL HW AND DISCUSSION BOARD ASSIGNMENTS AND I ENDED UP W/ A (D).
I had Prof. Nwankwo for MAT 156 (Online College Trig)in Winter 2014. I enjoyed his course and learned a lot from it. I did all my assignments and got a good grade out of the course. His guidance in solving story problems helped me a lot.I plan to take him again for my Calculus course.
Prof. Nwankwo is straight forward with what he wants. He requires detailed steps to every work. It was difficult getting used to since I have been used to short cuts to solving Math problems. Showing my steps helped me understand the concept better.
I'm glad I took Prof. Nwankwo for my Math 1717 (Calculus I). Prior to taking Prof. Nwankwo, I've been afraid of aing in class, but Prof. Nwankwo’ s method of getting involved in the class changed the view, and has helped me understand math concepts better than before. I'll highly recommend him to students that want to understand concepts.
Professor Nwankwo's method helped me understand Calculus, especially the intuitive definition of calculus using delta-epsilon. He broke down for me and it helped me a lot. I took calculus before at Michigan State, and it went over my head. Prof. Nwankwo explained the concepts better. He broke it down for me to understand.
I enjoyed taking this course. I've always liked Math. Prof Nwankwo was very straight forward about what he wants, and he made it explicitly clear that he does not give mercy grades. Coll trig story prob were very challenging, but I like to be challenged. Prof. Nwankwo was very helpful, esp when he sees students that are making effort to solve prob.
Never responded to emails. Ignored the discussion boards where students were constantly posting that assignments didn't match with the book or needed assistance. Offered no help to students. The grade curve was so bad my 64% curved all the way up to a B. Worst math class I've ever taken.
Prof. Nwankwo requires understanding of the material. The course was not easy pass for those looking for easy online grade without work. This course requires good knowledge of the use of blackboard along with math editor. Prof. Nwankwo requires orderliness and good understanding of the concepts. Discussion board participation is a must.
Hes rude. Judgemental. Bullys students. Makes you feel bad about yourself. Leaves class 2 hours early. Gives you the hardest problems in the book and complained when no one passed. Made fun of an autistic kid so bad that he dropped. Doesnt answer any homework questions. Doesnt respond to emails or texts. No office hours. needs to be fired.
He does not give multiple choice questions, and requires students to show their work. He wants students to participate in class discussions. If you're not ready, it's hard to remember things especially when I hardly made it through the previous Math courses. I still struggle with fractions some times. Brush up on you fractions before you take him.
I read up on Prof. Nwankwo before registering for his course. I know that he gives application type of problems. I've always liked challenges in math. His class was no different from other math courses I've had in the past. I had an "A" out of his class without any problem. He's extremely helpful once he sees that you're making effort to learn.
Discussion board participation is crucial to your grade. He takes forever to grade assignments. It's now April and I still have work from February that is not graded - the status still shows as "submitted". The due dates on the syllabus never match the due dates on the webassign site.
I enjoyed taking prof. Nwankwo. He teaches his materials for understanding. He makes sure that one understands the concepts. I enjoyed his class. One has to be ready to study as he expects feedback from students during lecture. Most students that have issues with him are those that don't care to read.
I highly recommend choosing another professor for your math class. If he is the only one available for the semester I suggest holding off till next semester for your course. His lecture skills need improvement, he reads roboticaly from the power point, and offers little to no help when it comes to questions or explanations.
This believes in students knowing the content. He expects his students to know their material. I'm glad that I had him. His course really prepared me for my Calculus course this past Winter semester. He explains the contents clearly.
The grading criteria is over 50% on discussion board participation (lots of requirements to meet for that) and less than 50% for all the tests, quizzes, and homework. He cares more about your quantity of interacting online with other students than your actual knowledge of the material, and is nearly impossible to get a response from.
He is just not the best teacher at all, it's not that he doesn't know his stuff, but teaching isn't for everybody and that is the case with professor nwanko...... i wont speak I'll of him, but as far as learning, it's just he writes stuff in the board for himself ..... u have to know u and what works best for you..... i would choose someone else
He's a good professor. He requires students to earn their grades. I like him and I enjoyed his class.
This prof comments and discourage you make you feel down, so you regret. Half of the class dropped and most of the students got grade C. He comes to the class not prepared and puzzles the subject to confuse you. He punishes you on any other student's mistake or the student from the past semester. He curses the college administration.
Seldom Responds. Do All Of Your Homework. Do All Of Your Discussion Assignments. If You Don't, You Won't Pass.
Prof. O is good to take if you're interested in working for your grade, or if you have the time to study to understand the course content. His tests require a good understanding of the content. Before I took his course I read his students rating and I knew that he must be one of the profs that doesn't give easy grades.
Prof. Nwankwo does not give easy grades. If you take him be sure to work real hard for your grade. He challenges you and asks for good understanding of the materials. My previous profs. will give grades for attempts, but not prof. Nwankwo. If I don't have the time to study, I'll definitely avoid taking prof. Nwankwo.
I don't usually participate in the use of this media because it's used by students (especially Community College students) to attack professors when they don't do well in a course. In this course most of the students had very weak background, and they wanted Prof. Nwankwo to cover the basics instead of teaching the main course.
I recommend Prof. Nwankwo to my peers who want to understand the concepts.I enjoyed two of his courses that I have taken so far. He will not teach basic mathematics like fractions in his higher level math. Most of my peers show up expecting him to teach fractions and factoring. They will drop his course when he doesn't teach prerequisite contents
One of the worst professors in the world. Please, do not take this professor's class by any mistake. Even if you do, please make sure you drop the class. If you want to pass this class you have to work hard and take precious time on it. There will be so many complicated math problems for you to solve.
If you guys wane need better great by mistakenly take this class please drop off right now . That professor gives you hard time & careless . After all your hard work he gives you nothing that you feel so bad .
I enjoyed taking Prof. Nwankwo for Calculus I. I learned a lot from his Calculus course. I plan on taking him for Calculus II, Calculus II, and Differential Equation. He challenges me and he helped me improve my problem solving skill. I highly recommend him to students that want to learn and earn their grades.
One of the worst professors that I have ever taken a class with. By any mean, don't take this damn professor even if you are smart at math.

I'm glad I took Prof. Nwankwo for my Math 1717 (Calculus I). He has no willingness to teach math to his students. I learned nothing from him than learned myself well.
The coursework is very heavy, so if you don't want a lot of work to do, you shouldn't take this online class. I used to love math, but this class has caused me to dread it. There are no extensions, so you either succeed or die trying. The Discussion Board only adds to the heavy workload because it's worth 80% of your grade.
He doesn't care about his students, don't reply emails, don't pass any information to his students. he just post questions and walk away.

I read these reviews before taking the class and figured everyone else was just complaining too much, but honestly this is the worst class and worst professor I have had. Over half of the class failed because he had no lectures, no feedback, and was unresponsive. Please do not waste your time, I am currently trying to contact his administration
This is the worst professor I have ever had in my college experience. He does not respond to emails at all and the lecture slide are so vague that you will not learn anything from them. He literally graded all of our work at the same time at the end of the class, and I failed. I had no chance to bring my grade up and WCCCD was not helpful at all.
He is one of my favorite teachers here at WCCCD! Make sure you follow directions and complete your work. He is always available to answer questions and he genuinely cares about his students!

I never see like him prof. He is careless and unresponsible. He never reply student email. I feel like took robot class not human. I recommend don't take him, it will huge mistake and will regret it later. I waste my important time, I don't want to same situation with others. Maybe this professor is better in person than online. This course isn't easy and support is greatly needed when taking it online. However, I didn't really feel supported by this professor. The main reason is the fact that he did not respond to emails. Our link to online work crashed and things were due and no response from him. That is unacceptable
Behaves like an angry impatient dictator towards all students, threatens to give zero grade on all assignments for simple common mistakes students make, such as asking questions in the "wrong" area. Isn't clear on what he's looking for on the discussion boards. I don't understand how people like this have jobs. Modified syllabus mid-semester.
This is an absent professor. He does not respond to emails. Basically, read the book, do the homework and take the quizzes and tests. You are on your own. He provides no support / guidance except the syllabus. If you make a minor mistake he will give you a zero. I cannot even fathom why this prof has a job teaching because he does not teach.

I made sure to finish all of my assignments on time, and he gave me a 10/200 pts on discussion boards which I took my time to do, and followed all instructions. Graded things at the last minute, and doesn't respond to emails. Instructions were unclear. I had A until the last day. No feedback. Terrible.

Horrible responder, if ever responds. Gives poor direction. Closes assignments earlier than deadlines, does not make himself available. Avoid this professor.

This teacher is so bad be never answers emails.
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!! This man is a horrible teacher and does not know how to stay on top of ANYTHING. He changed the opening dates for our quizzes so they would be closer to the turn-in date, but what's the point of that? Also, the due dates for a lot of the assignments were wrong, so they would submit before the original time posted.
