I thought this was going to be a long boring class but to my surprise, Prof. Alapo did an amazing job of keeping us engaged for every class. She made us feel comfortable enough to participate in a class full of strangers who we now created bonds with throughout the semester. Great class, props to my prof!

is an amazing individual, she never seizes to amaze me . In addition to being attentive to the class , she always helps students one on one . She provides outline for her projects and essays . Its very easy to pass but you must show up and give it your all . I would take her class all over !!

Dr. Alapo is a fun and caring professor. I was part of her Service Learning course, which was based on getting students of the class politically engaged, more outside of the classroom than anything. For someone who has trouble understanding political concepts, I appreciated her approach to teaching by having us go out there and learn firsthand.

What I enjoyed about this class is the class discussions we had. Having these class discussion it helps make stuff more clear and helps us understand more. Obviously, professor Alapo is one of the best professor. She uses class time effectively and efficiently. She is very knowledgeable in the content area. She always puts information across in a clear, understandable manner. She knows the material well enough to emphasize the most important aspects. Furthermore, she maintains contact with students

Professor Alapo really cares about her students and their success, and it shows during this difficult time (quarantine). As long as you show her you are working hard and eager to learn, she can be open to flexibility. There is a lot of work, but it's never overwhelming. Participation in discussion is also a big factor in her grading.

she listens to us, she respects us, she is caring to her students. Especially when COVID-19 made students stay home, she would contact or make a zoom meeting to check up on you. Participation is a big deal in your grade. There is a lot of homework, but if you show that you are trying to catch up, she is open to a stretch on the assignments.

The work that was given was very straight forward she will provide many videos and examples during class making it easier for you to understand the homework that is given. If you don't seem to understand she's always available after class to chat. There are also many opportunities to receive extra credit. Do the work and you will pass.

All the work for the class is straightforward, you wont have to kill yourself looking for answers because the way the professior explains it is very clear. For her online class everything is uploaded and you can work on it once the week begins. She is also very caring- with the whole pandemic she gave us a week to catch up on work and submit work.

She is absolutely wonderful. She is the only professor who has personally reached out to see how I am doing and to see if I have any questions or concerns. She truly cares for her students to do well. She will really get you to think about different aspects of society. Quite interesting and fun class. You won't regret choosing her!

Professor Remi really cares about her students and really knows what she's talking about. She does great job linking our everyday experiences to sociology so you can talk about a topic you're interested in while still being relevant to class. Her accent is sometimes difficult to understand, but she is patient and makes sure you get it.

Prof. Oluremi is a true gem. She gives lots of good feedback and chances to make up for work that was missed or not completed. You have to read the textbook and completion of discussion boards are a must. However, taking her class is one of the best things I could of done. I learned so much from taking this course and I can now say history is fun.

Took this professor during the coronavirus pandemic. I think she did great job at staying connected- she always responds and there's multiple ways to contact her. We did have to a lot of readings but that's expected in a history class. Overall she's an understanding professor. Talk to her and she will try to work with you.

Prof. gives great feedback and also a lot of extra credits. For your final its a 12-15 paper but don't get scared its all from the discussion board responses so as. long as you do them the final should be easy.

The discussion board is a weekly assignment that was simple enough + a few papers. She gives feedback to help you improve. She expects cameras on in Zoom; don't be shy!

It was a great pleasure taking Prof. Alapo's class my finally semester of college. I truly enjoyed the course work , I feel that I obtained a lot of knowledge about early African civilization in a very interesting way. I would most certainly retake and recommend those who are inquiring within.

The class was great and relatively easy if you do your work! There is extra credit at end of semester and some essays and presentations because class is writing-intensive. Great overall experience and this class is one I'd recommend!

It was a class where we all participated and that way I was able to learn more about other cultures. Since the students in the class were all from different places so we had different ways of seeing things and different experiences which we shared throughout the semester.

Oluremi Alapo is one of the best professors at BMCC. I would recommend taking her for any class she teaches, she is that good. I never felt uncomfortable or stupid for asking a question that may have been obvious and she always took the time to make sure I understood.

This was an online WI (writing-intensive class) and I found myself just having an overall bad semester due to outside forces but Professor Alapo has given me and many other people multiple chances to complete her work, as well as complete extra credit.

Professor Alapo has passion in what she is teaching and wants you to learn not just listen to what is being taught. Her feedback on papers helped me notice that my writing needed some work and as someone who is in school for writing this was appreciated. She is great!

I like professor Alapo's a lot! She is quite patient with her students. I felt very included in her class because she let us decide on what kind of projects we want to work on. If you don't understand something she always gives further explanation. Alapo's always willing to work with her students, which makes her unique. An easy class to pass!!

Good teacher and her class is interesting

She doesn't really grade much. Say you get this grade but gives you a lower grade. She wants you to do essays and slides worth 20 - 30 points but to her only 1 - 2.5 ponts and thats only "extra credit". The same can be said for assignments, she only gives 10 points for. For Finals ppt is worth more (12.5 points).
