You have to do the work and stay on top of it to pass. The assignments will help you improve if your looking to be a graphic designer. You must also show up to most classes otherwise you will be lost. Hes very fair when he marks and also is a very helpful teacher and will sit down with you and brainstorm ideas with you if you need help!

Omar was excellent at giving me good feedback. I feel like if you care about your grade and the content, he will be able to see it. Same goes for if you dont. I feel like occasionally he was harder on those who clearly werent into the class but Id also expect any instructor to do similarity.

Omar is always, there when I need help and I learned so many amazing knowledge and skills. After the course, I realize this was more than I expected.

Really easy to get along with. Gives back great feedback. Easy marker. Do all the work and you'll at least get a B.

Do your homework with meaning behind your design choices and you'll do great. Omar appreciates students who try but you don't have to be a star student to get a good grade. He is very chill so he doesn't take the class as seriously as some may want. I recommend asking him for additional feedback because I barely received any with my grades online.

Wonderful teacher who you can tell is truly assassinate for the subjects he's teaching. All the resources and material learned in his class was fantastic and practical. Only thing was that he was a bit hard to get in touch with and was always a bit late to our classes. Though I wouldn't hesitate to have him again.

The fact that he even asks all of his students to do this is a sign of a great prof. He cares about the students who are here to learn. His knowledge is vast and he shares it well. His assignments cover the criteria and allow his students to learn in a fun and interesting way. I wish he taught more of the classes I have to take :-)

He briefly checked everyone during lab exercises. Always gave us a thing to work on, sometimes you could fall behind, but he always had been there for help if someone needed his advise, so no need to worry about it. This class is good for learn the way to see things like artists.

Omar is very inspirational as an educator. He lives to my expectation. I love how he teach us and I can tell that he is very passionate with his job as a designer as well as educator. The thing I like the most about Omar is his generosity. he always gives resources that can help us grow as designer. He always inspire me to become a professional.

I enjoy in class works more with Omar, but once it gets to online class, its harder to get feedbacks from him. Overall, I still recommend him for your strategic design for business class, portfolio class, and color theory. If he happens to teach UI/UX, then I believe that he will be a great teacher because that's what he is interested in.

Omar does a great job of keeping the class material fresh and relatable to modern business practices. From the start of the semester, I found his teaching + the overall course to be very informational, eye-opening, and exciting. Excellent class! The only thing I would suggest id maybe doing more feedback on students process for assignments to get a clear understanding of how the student can fix errors or to make sure they are on track to complete the final assignment effectively. Other than that this class was a lot of fun and I learned so much. Thank You Omar!

Really enjoyed the feedback from Omar. I know that the classes are large and it is hard to give instructor feedback for all students, but I felt the student feedback was not as helpful when we were in the breakout sessions. Would have preferred the instructor feedback, but seeing everyones work and learning from all the feedback was wonderful.

Omar was consistently flexible, lighthearted, supportive, accurate, empathetic, and sharing especially with dedicated students. He cares if you care. His focus on practice over theory made me wish for more depth in design literature and history, for example. I wished he was more available. I did learn a lot from his real-life experiences though.

I attended a Colour Theory class taught by Omar. His material was easy to follow and understand. He was personal, knowledgable and relatable. Omar is such a delight! I've had such a great time learning Colour Theory with him. He provides so many resources to check out beyond his own extensive worksheets and PDF's as well. I find him giving decent amount of homework and projects but it all helped me so I'm happy with it. As long as you will be fine to manage your schedule, it is a great course!

This is the second class I've taken with Omar, and I had a good experience in both classes. He is very patient and respectful of his student's time. He holds students to a high standard so don't expect an easy A, but you will definitely learn a lot if you're willing to put in the work. Easily one of my favourite teachers this semester.

Omar, Is a super professional and knowledgeable teacher. I believe he is a former BCIT student as well. In Visual Composition he taught the importance of layout, essentially the process of making a "blueprint" for every graphic design project. As well as theory, and marketing tips. Great course, my only suggestion would be to email students faster!

He always pushes us to challenge ourselves, at begginning I found it was very challenging but at the end, I learned a lot from him. He doesn't give much assignments or quizes but two major projects insteaded, i like this way. ,

Had Omar for two semesters, and I'm a better designer because of it. He holds high standards (as he should). Take notes, ask questions, put in effort, and you'll succeed. Rubrics can get a bit fragmented across phases, but he's always willing to clarify. Learned more from him than in other courses. Most of my portfolio pieces came from his classes!

Omar's class has been my favourite for first term. His projects are inspiring, and facilitates you to take it as far as you want to go. There's a level of choice in his projects so you can lean into what interests you. Not very responsive to emails, but his lectures really instil the essence of being a graphic designer beyond just skills.

Best instructor! He made color theory fun and easy to understand—even the technical parts. He used real-life examples and design works to explain color choices, and his feedback was always helpful. I felt supported, inspired, and more confident in my design skills. Highly recommend!
