Super helpful, funny & lay back. told you exactly what would be on test. If you reach out to him, he'll help you out!
Attending his class was useless he just keeps blabbering but hes very helpful and hes extremely passionate about what he teaches. he tries to curve but his tests are very hard. hes not very hard you should take him.
He is a great professor! He is sooooo nice and always ready to help! He gives you the short answers on the test ahead of time and you don't need to read the book. I love him!
Great professor! He is very passionate about biology. Lectures can get boring sometimes unless you are that interested. Tests are not extremely hard. Do not need to read the book. There is a curve. Also, hotnessss!
He enjoys teaching biology and makes lectures fairly interesting. Academically, he has a huge curve, will always explain anything you don't get, and doesn't go by the book so much. He doesn't take attendance, but go to all the lectures to get a good grade. On another note, he's got an awesome sense of humor and he is extremely hot.
AMAZING
Amazing professor!!! He's very helpful if you reach out to him. He also curves grades at the end of the semester and he is extremely HOT!!!
He is one of the BESTEST professor at NSU.He is very helpful and his tests are easy if you pay attention to his lectures. He is young, extremely hot and a very kind man who wants his students to pass his class. He knows his stuff and is very passionate about evolutionary biology.I love him and totally recommend him for bio II because HE IS THE BEST !!
He's a really nice guy. Tests are extremely hard. You will mercilessly study if you do not understand his style of teaching.
Totally delightful professor. He's very helpful if you reach out him. Super obsessed with biology so you can expect interesting lectures and he's very funny so that makes his lectures even better. His tests are very difficult if you don't read the book. You definitely need the book for the class. His test questions come right from his powerpoints.
His lectures are good hes funny. Test are very difficult especially the first one. He is very nice and helpful if you reach out to him. Make sure you pay lots of attention in his lectures and answer and study all of the questions towards the end of the slides. Some will be on the tests. You don't really need the book. First practical requires study
First test is extremely hard. Midterm practical is not impossible but ridiculously complicated. Professor is genuinely fair, tries to pass his students. Gives questions that are going to be on the test. labs are fun. no lab or lecture quizzes, but must be in class to sign a paper to get credits for the lecture and lab quizzes though. OPTION B
Eldakar is funny and laid back, but his tests are hard. Everyone fails the first test (he said so himself), but he does curve at the end of the semester! The labs are super chill, I always used to get out early. I used to stay maybe an hour at most. No lecture quizzes or lab quizzes. The lecture quizzes is attendance, so make sure to go to class!
He's a great teacher, he's super laid back. His lectures are super important, you have to write down a lot of what he says to be able to pass the tests. Also, it is not a good idea to skip his class. He makes the class interesting by saying funny things and doing good comparisons. His first test wasn't as bad as everyone thinks, the rest is easy.
Omar is extremely nice and down to earth. When it comes to the test and lab midterm and finale, they are extremely hard. The test are EVERYTHING that is said in class, even though he gives questions to study, the majority of the class got C's as their grade in the class. He believes in the bell curve grading and that should be only few A's.
Prof. Eldakar is a great lecturer, he's very into BIO so his enthusiasm will keep you awake. Make sure to use his outlines as a bible for studying. His tests aren't easy but if you study you shouldn't get anything less than a solid B. I wish I would have applied myself from the start I could have gotten a B for sure. He curves at the end but study!
Dr. Eldakar is an amazing and passionate professor at NSU. He's is very understanding and tries to make accommodations throughout the semester in order to help us pass and achieve a good grade. I do have to admit his class was extremely tough (EVERY TEST)but he's an amazing professor. It sucks that i killed myself in his class and got a C- (retake)
I took him for Biology IILab. Best class I have taken in a long time. I really learned a lot in his class. I would love to take him for another class. I recommend taking any class he teaches. His test are very hard and I highly recommend you take his advice and do study groups. Totally works!!!
Dr. Eldakar is a really fun person and he is really passionate about what he does, which makes it easy to get lost during lecture. His tests are really tough, and even though they come from the questions on his PowerPoints, you have to study really hard to do well. Study for the practical exams because they will be tough.
I took Dr. Eldakar for Bio II and it was a breeze. Make sure to attend class, record the lectures, and take really good notes. If you do so, you'll pass with no problems. The test m/c and written come directly from his lectures, no need for the book.
very hard exams
Professor Eldakar is an awesome professor. His tests are not easy but if you follow his powerpoint lectures and answer the questions at the end you will be fine. Do not skip class because his powerpoints are mostly pictures so you will not be able to study when the test comes. He is kind of cute so lecture is not so boring.
Eldakar is the type of professor that inspires you to work hard toward your passions in life; he LOVES what he does and it's obvious. Record every lecture, answer PPoint questions, take thorough notes and you'll ace the class. He's not out to trick you or make passing impossible. Study well, ask questions, he is your friend! I'm taking him again :)
Idc if he trash talk this on first day of class, but hes quite a character for a professor. He *is* passionate in what he does, but remember: serial killers are also passionate in what they do. Record lectures, participate, type (not write) notes, and you'll do well. He lectures casually, but the test far from. Oh, & he thrives from your stress. :)
Professor Eldakar's class was really fun & interesting. I learned a lot & was opened to a new way of thinking. His class isn't hard. Print out the PP slides before class & answer the questions while following the lecture. Be prepared to take LOTS of notes. You must go to class. All in all, he's a great professor. Record lectures, that helps also.
Really nice guy, the class is difficult, mainly because of the material and he's not the best teacher but if you take good notes and record the class you should do fine
I took Prof Eldakar for non-majors bio. He was super understanding that we all had different interests and tried to make the class relevant for everyone. Show up to class, take notes, and prepare for the weekly quizzes. You'll get a good grade as long as you pay attention to his lectures.
Eldakar is the best lecturer nova has to offer! He gives you the questions for the test, and all the information is found in the lectures. Easy A if you study.
He's good at lecturing but slides off topic and talks about his personal life more than the actual topic. His exams are extremely tough (only 3 ppl each class would receive an A or B on his exams). If you ask about your grade in the course, he gets angry and will make you feel guilty for asking, when in reality you deserve to know your grade.
Dr. Eldakar seems to be a great professor at first, but until tests come, not so much. Write down literally every word he says, anything is game for tests. His tests are VERY specific, so if you know a process, a MC question would be which is step 2? Doesn't test on how much you know, he asks trick questions. Lab is easy tho.
Dr. Eldakar is a great professor! He makes the material interesting and understandable. You must attend each class (PPT only has images) and I suggest answering all of the questions at the end of the PPTs. Focus and study for the exams, since your grade will basically consist of those four exams. Exams aren't hard if you put effort into studying
Study the questions at the end of the powerpoints. Attend all of the lectures and record them. Manageable class if you study the information. 4 exams that are MC and essay questions. He is a good professor and lectures are always interesting.
I would not advise to take this professor. He believes in the Bell curve for tests but it ends up way worse, ie most people fail his tests. Only 2 or 3 people get A's and the average in the class is D for tests. He is good at lecturing, but is way too fast, Bio is fundamental and should be taught carefully. Do not take him, it will ruin your GPA!!!
Dr. Eldakar knows his material but is too fast as a lecturer. Tests have more weight throughout the course. I don't know why the recent reviews show him as awesome! Like omg only the minority are saying he is great. It is not the majority opinion let me tell you! Average on tests are 68 and max 72 percent. Don't take him unless you will study hard.
He is a good professor for Biology 2. Other students complain because they aren't putting the effort into studying. He literally gives you a list of questions at the end of his ppt, which will be on the exam! Study the questions and you'll be fine. It's a matter of students who work and study vs those who just wait till the last minute to prep. :)
Really cool guy and makes lectures interesting but you really have to pay attention and basically write down everything he says, anything is fair-game for the tests. Listen very well and focus and you will do okay.
If you pay attention to everything he says its an easy A. If you miss class and study from the book you will fail.
Easy A, the complainers will say its hard but the exams are exactly what he says.
The best lectures on campus! Eldakar was extremely interesting and inspiring to listen to. He relates all topics to everyday life. You must attend lessons! If you don't, you will fail. His exams come straight from his lectures. I would recommend recording and studying them as much as possible. Overall, he is definitely my favorite professor here.
Excellent lecturer and really knows how to keep you interested. However, his powerpoints have no word just pics of animals and he does not supply any resources to prepare for his tests which makes it hard to study. The way to go about his class is audio recording lectures which is not efficient for quick studying. He was my first B
Professor Eldakar is by far one of my favorite teachers at Nova. When taking notes, dont copy anything from the PowerPoint. Just write down what he says and youll be fine. Tests are mc. His powerpoints have review questions at the end. If you make sure you know those answers, youll be fine on tests.
His class is solely lecture based, but he gives amazing lectures. He actually teaches and helps you understand rather than being robotic. Super nice guy that knows the answer to all your questions. Definitely recommend!
Tests are solely based off the powerpoints. Make sure to take notes or record the lecture and to show up to class (random attendance quizzes). I will probably end with a low C in this class (first ever), and I am not happy with this grade. Lab is pretty easy (have an A). Grading criteria is confusing (averages are 70s on exams).
Super interesting guy. Tests are COMPLETELY lecture based, so def take notes/record his lectures. Also know the questions at the end of his powerpoints inside out, those are the entire test. Sort of an unclear grading system so honestly I'm not sure what I'll end with in this class, so overall if you put the work in you'll be fine!
DONT TAKE HIM!!!!! Biology II is supposed to be an easy course and a gpa booster. This class with him will mess up your gpa. If you are in a dual admission program and need a certain science gpa requirement THIS CLASS WILL PUT YOU ON PROBATION. He do be pretty tho.
Professor Eldakar makes lectures interesting and gives you a relatable perspective on Bio. Anything verbally said during lectures are fair game on exams, so listen, record, and relisten to the lectures. On exams, a difference between a C and an A on exams is going to office hours to ask questions on end of powerpoint questions. Really chill guy
the lectures were easy to understand and he knows what he's talking about and often makes jokes but taking this online was horrible when it came to the quizzes the questions were to obscure for me and they would only open for a specific number of minutes i had to drop
DONT TAKE HIM. Im taking BIOL1100 with him rn which is suppose to be really easy. Like to get an easy A. He makes you watch 2-3 videos that are like hours long for a 10 question quiz. Also he doesnt give makeups if you signal cutoff. Like during a whole PANDEMIC?? Like sheesh. Well youve been warned.
His tests are the hardest that I have ever taken, and his grading method is crazy. He is very critical if you do not understand something. His tests are based mostly on the lectures but they also contain a lot of textbook content. I have trouble understanding what he is talking about most times because he hops back and forth between topics.
Professor Eldakar is probably the worst professor Ive ever taken before. I took him twice and that was the biggest mistake I couldve made. Other than the fact that he just goes on and on about things we dont need for exams, he makes it very clear that he is an atheist and will rank in your religion. Do not take him.
Tests are completely lecture based so you will rewatch them many times. He rambles and goes on tangents that make no sense. Anything he says during lectures could be on the test. Focus on PPT questions and look at those a lot because those will help you understand. He has no compassion for tech issues. He's also hypocritical as he has tech issues.
do NOT take his class. Tests are extremely difficult and he goes off on tangents always in the middle of class. He does not care whatsoever for tech issues and will not give retakes on exams if you do have issues. There is no extra credit or homework so your exam is based on four quizzes and four tests. Seriously, do not take.
Easily the WORST you can possibly take for bio 2 at NSU. He made the class, which is supposed to be an easy A, the worst. Grade is based on 4 exams and 4 quizzes. Tests are insanely difficult and don't even bother asking him for help as he will quickly shut you down and tell you that he can't do anything to help you.
The key to passing Professor Eldakar's class is to rewatch the lectures and take notes of everything he says. If he says it, there's a big chance it will be on the test. Through the lectures and study groups, I have been able to excel in his class. Although he is a great teacher, he has been very harsh with technology issues this semester, though.
Professor Eldakar is lecture-heavy and relies on quizzes and exams to make up for grades. There is no homework in this class. His lectures are interesting and I really enjoyed all of the examples he used, it made hard concepts easier to grasp. Good sense of humor as well! He wasn't lenient about tech issues but does offer some extra credit.
Lectures are entertaining and not boring at all, definitely easy to pay attention and stay in tune with but you MUST re-watch lectures in order to get every detail and concept/example correct for quizzes/tests. If it was said in the lecture then there is an 85% CHANCE IT WILL BE ON THE TEST! TAKE GOOD NOTES!
Horrible teacher and does not have any sympathy for students. Does not care if you have computer problems or really any problems at all. The grade is based on 4 tests and 4 quizzes. He DOES NOT offer any extra credit and no retakes on any quizzes. He does not give homework and is not helpful in any way. Save your grade and GPA. Don't take him.
DO NOT TAKE HIM. He talks too fast, goes off on tangents, has pictures on the PowerPoint instead of key words/phrases and does not care if you have problems with internet or lockdown. He will just give you a zero and say too bad not my problem. The class is graded on 4 quizzes and 4 exams. There's no homework and you can't look at ur test answers
Only 4 test and 4 quizzes determine your grade. Has no sympathy for students, as computer problems are not his problem. Will give you a 0 if you have tech issues. Fast talker and only has pictures on his powerpoints. Even with the TA's as help, this class was very difficult and it didn't have to be. Please stay away if you care about your GPA.
Bio II is an aggressively difficult course at Nova no matter which prof you take. Its nothing like Bio I & covers a lot more info. With that being said I enjoyed Dr. Eldakars lectures. You can tell he is super passionate about evolutionary bio. But you have to take *extensive* lecture notes to do well. Having access to lecture recording helps
horrible professor. if you care about gpa DO NOT TAKE HIM. gives no extra credit, doesnt care about students, only tests and quizzes determine your grade and calls your questions stupid if you have tech issues he doesnt allow you to retake exams and is just a terrible person overall he begs for good reviews but doesnt do the work to revive them
Absolutely THE WORST professor I have ever taken. Bio 2 is already a difficult course as it is but Eldakar clearly does not care for his students. He does not give any extra credit and if you have any internet issues with lockdown browser, good luck Charlie because he will not care and give you a zero. Your grade is based off the 4 quizzes & tests.
TERRIBLE! has no care for students. emailed him for support and he was rude and snarky! this is my 3rd year at NSU and never struggled just to get a B in a non major course! i studied more for this class then for labs and classes for my major! barley got a b! he is RUDE and does not want feedback! takes an easy subject and makes it MISERABLE!
Dr. Eldakar is very passionate about the subject. He is very funny and the lectures are enjoyable. You MUST relisten to lectures to study for the exams! The exams are based on what he talks about during lectures. Don't overlook anything he says during the lecture! Make sure you have your tech issues sorted out.
I took him in October 2020 when COVID was at its peak and stuff. I always did online rather than in class and I didnt really study which is on me. However, I remember, as clear as day, how passionate he is about teaching. He invites people to ask questions. Also the tests are verbatim from the lecture itself, so take notes and study them
Prof Eldakar is a good teacher although it can be a little frustrating when he lectures because he jumps around a lot but as long as you take notes you should be good. He's very funny and is really nice. He curves the tests a lot!! if you go to class and the SI sessions you'll be golden. It's a fun and interesting class and I would take him again.
when you take this professor, you are also planning on also taking depression and anxiety. good luck
Eldakar isn't terrible but if you're trying to actually learn biology, don't take him. His powerpoints are just full of random nature/animal pictures with barely any notes. You must pay attention in class, and whatever he says is always right, even if it's wrong. For example, if he says 1+25 in lecture, the correct answer is 5 on his exams.
Eldekkar is an amazing teacher he cares a lot about the topics he teaches and makes the 80 minute class much more interesting. The concepts in bio 2 is definitely harder at NSU compared to bio 1 so a lot of students don't know how to study well for this course but having eldekar taught me a good way to learn and understand a vast amount of info!
Took him for evolution terrible professor. 70% of your grade is quizzes that are 9 questions long and super tricky. He doesn't care that people are failing and isn't willing to help or give extra credit or help people who are struggling. Do not take him.
Do not take this class if you're looking to pass the class. He will not answer emails quickly and if you're falling a bit behind, he will not care what circumstance you have.
This class is just not worth it. Tests are almost impossible to get an A on. If you want to keep up your GPA, dont take him. He's a funny guy sometimes I guess. Grade only determined by 4 quizzes and tests. Unless you seriously wanna learn Bio 2 take someone else.
Okay here we go! Took eldakar for Biology 2 and he was a great professor. Was it a hard class? 100% Do you have to work your butt off to get an A? 100%. The only way to get an A in this class is by recording every lecture. After every lecture, transcribe what he said word for word and write every example down he says. PART 1
PART 2. Make sure you have the lecture notes done before you go to the next class bc it helps you stay on track and not have to cram listen to 10 lectures that are 80 minutes before the exam. After writing down EVERYTHING he says, make a study guide with those notes that include everything he says and all the examples and study it.
PART 3. If you do all the steps mentioned, you will get an A. You have to work pretty dang hard in this class to get an A so it teaches you great work ethic. The lectures are great and he has a way of keeping your attention throughout. He doesn't read off a slide or anything, he has his own personal notes for lecture and makes it interesting
part 4! when taking this class, you have to be ready to work super hard if you want a A. But you will feel so accomplished when it's over. Lab is fine, lab practical is horrible so make sure you study a ton bc that will impact your grade as well. If you are reading this as a future student in Bio 2, GOOD LUCK AND BELIEVE IN YOURSELF!
Besides lab, the only grades in this class are the quizzes and tests. Professor Eldakar is a good professor and explains the concepts pretty well, but you have to focus on the lecture, otherwise, you won't be able to know the content of the tests. However, bio 2 in general just sucks and is a very difficult class.
No hmw. only graded 4 quiz, 4tests and lab. Lecture heavy, SI was very helpful. Is a little intimidating but is one of the better professors. Doesn't take the time to get to know you but he made the whole class laugh very often. Has dark humor. Have to take extensive notes and study them all to do well. Have to know the why, not just the what
his lectures were interesting but everything he said would be on the quizzes and tests and his powerpoints sucked. you had to be a fast note taker. i took him during covid and my internet cut out so i couldnt take the quiz i wrote him 3 emails about it and he never responded and put a 0. he didnt have a lot of grades either.
HE'S AMAZING! Dr. Eldakar made biology 2 so much more interesting! You must attend lecture, pay attention and literally write down everything he is saying, voice record him!!!! And studyyyy!! Everything that he states in lecture will be on the exam!
Eldakar is very passionate about the topic he teaches but his quizzes are ridiculously specific and difficult. This is supposed to be a generally simple elective to take while taking other more difficult classes but instead most of my time was spent dealing with his class. Quizzes every week and "easy" assignments that take up hour of time.
Absolutely loved Dr. Eldakar. Do not listen to the negative reviews; those are probably just students who did not do well and are trying to take their anger out on him instead. His material is straight forward, just record and take notes during his lectures, and review those before quizzes or tests. That is all there is to it.
There are 4 quizzes, 4 exams. Did not open my textbook once, DO NOT BUY IT. If you have to miss a class for some reason, have someone send the recording to you because they are info packed. Midterm and final are not cumulative, and the lowest quiz is dropped! He is so funny and makes bio very interesting. Best class of my semester.
he knowns what talks about and tries to explain in the best way, but sometimes it is not enough. his quizzes are hard, and his PPTs are mainly pictures so they don't really help when studying. for this class he quizzes you weekly and they are really specific. he assigns other work (3), which are long, but do them and you'll do great in them.
Dr. Eldakar was a great teacher, funny and was very accessible after class. He answered emails somewhat fast and does help students if he sees that you are trying. I didnt do well on the first exam but still managed to get a somewhat okay grade. You need to use an outside tool for this class and you have to remember everything he says LITERALLY!
AWESOME PROFESSOR!!!! He is such a funny, loving guy. I loved his lectures, he made them super interested. There is online quizzes, exams are heavy MUST pay attention to what HE SAYS.
hes so awesome.. i love him. hes so cool and his lectures are actually very interesting. he makes boring stuff seem fun.. i would retake him anytime. also, if you miss class you will get lost and he doesnt go back but he is very accessible outside of class
The class was interesting at first but now he rambles and often goes off topic. You never really know what you're going to be tested on so you have to study everything. Teaches uses pictures. His tests are very unnecessarily confusing and never straight to the point. 0/10 class: evolution, adaptation to health. I highly don't recommend.
I will suggest that you take him if you are the type of person who are not learning through presentation. He used the presentation as an image instead of an actual regular presentation. So as long as you take notes of 70% of what he lectures about, you will ace the test.
Dr. Eldakar is a good teacher and does help his students unlike many teachers I've had. He's exam only based. His power points are pictures, they wont help. He lectures, WRITE EVERYTHING DOWN OR RECORD, HIS EXAMS ARE LITERALLY WORD FOR WORD. He will help you if he sees your trying. Put in the work and you won't do bad, I just failed the first exam.
Exams are what basically make up your grade. Quizzes are not worth that much but still will boost you somewhat at the end. RECORD HIS LECTURES AND STUDY FROM THEM! That's one key thing if you want to receive an A in his class. Overall, not too bad. Great lectures, he is super passionate and helpful during office hours.
Interesting teaching style, as his PowerPoint has very few words, just pictures and he lectures based on it. I can't stress this enough, RECORD THE LECTURES, sit in class, listen and record, then go home and transcribe the audio. He uses the examples in his lectures in the tests, even the ones that sounds like a tangent. No Hw and read the book!
This class was awful. His lecture slides have no information on them just pictures, so you never know what youre going to get tested on and studying is impossible. I used study modules on pearson but barely helped. Tests and quizzes are confusing and tough.
I think that he is overall a very good and engaging professor! His tests are based off of the lectures and some of the book material. He is always open to questions and will curve tests based off student performance. His slides are all picture based so you have to listen to what he lectures about. He is very passionate and interesting to listen to.
so unprofesssional, doesn't care about students at all. tests were unfair and did not match difficulty level of other bio 2 classes (WAY harder)
Don't take BIO 1100 with him. Especially not online. In the online course, he assigns an unbelievable amount of videos and reading. You'll be assigned 1 module per week and most of them include a 500 word essay, at least one 1 hour+ lecture (sometimes multiple), and a 10 question quiz. The questions on the quizzes are so random. I had to drop it.
Taking him for animal behavior right now. His lectures are very interesting, he's a great speaker. I actually enjoy the class. Weekly quizzes and 1-3 readings each week too. Took me a few quizzes to get a good grade, but I learned his teaching style. Listen to his lectures carefully and write down everything he says to study from. Would take again.
Prof Eldakar is funny. AB is an interesting course; lots of info, but not hard if you pay attention. Some tips I would recommend include recording lectures, writing down anything he says, and asking questions before the quiz. The course consists of weekly quizzes, 2-3 readings that may be on the quiz, and some additional written assignments
I had Eldakar for Animal Behavior (BIOL 3220). Although he is NOT A GREAT PROFESSOR for BIO 1 & 2, for higher biology courses, which he specializes in, Eldakar is amazing. He is an easy grader and doesn't have an attendance grade. Though he is funny, his lecture slides don't contain much tested content so get notes & pay attention to what he says.
GO TO CLASS AND RECORD HIS LECTURES. everything that he says is fair game and will show up on the exams non of which are cumulative. He's odd but his lectures were always very interesting. His exams are very straight forward just take notes from his lecture. he says that he asks questions from the book but its only one or two things.
I would recommend Eldakar for the Bio electives. He's very knowledgeable and lectures in an entertaining way. I had class 6-8:30 and I would never zone out once. Also, there's no cumulative exams just quizzes every week. However, there was an annotated bib at the end of the semester that I thought was a very time consuming for an elective.
I loved Dr. Eldakar. He is very funny although he loves to go on tangents. His tests are based on his lectures and a small percentage of the questions come from the textbook. Quizzes are given a week before the exam and the lowest one is dropped. He also curves very well. Take good notes, his slides do not have many words on them!
Dr. Eldakar is amazing. Four tests, four quizzes and lowest quiz grade dropped. RECORD LECTURE, and SI sessions are a must. Re-listen to lecture and you will succeed. Very accessible and super great interesting lectures. If you do not like going to class, do not take.
Dr. Eldakar is completely lecture-based, and everything he says during lectures is fair game for the exams. He does small lecture quizzes a week before the exam. Not the best BIO II professor, but still manageable to get an A- or A if you study/listen the lecture recordings. Make sure to do well in the lab final to cushion your class exam average.
Professor Eldakar is such an enthusiastic teacher that it made the class very enjoyable and easy to participate in. Your grade is heavily dependent on his tests, and you MUST attend the lectures to do well on them. I did not know him very personally, but he was always pretty nice just as long as you show you are actively studying and participating.
Best professor! Evolution was interesting and impossible to fail. If you have trouble paying attention I highly recommend recording. Eldakar is funny which makes the class fun to attend. The quizzes are the majority of your grade but not hard. The other half was writing assignments, attendance, and one participation in research which was fun.
Overall I really enjoyed this class. The secret to do well in this class is to go to the Bugs sessions as well as attend every single one of his classes. His tests are based on everything he says in his lectures. He is a really nice and funny person as well.
I got an A in Biology 2 with this professor, but most of the class ended up with a D by the end. I wouldn't recommend taking him. He has a high opinion of himself and isn't very helpful, though he can be funny at times during lectures. You'll need to do a lot of independent study. His PowerPoints mostly consist of images with minimal explanations.
I thought this course would be manageable, but it's been the toughest compared to genetics and microbio. The professor rambles a lot and isn't helpful, with slides that are mostly just pictures. You have to pay attention to everything he says. Tons of assigned articles for quizzes, and the questions can be confusing. Plus, he doesn't really curve.
"Professor Omar is a tough grader, and his exams are challenging, so be prepared to work hard. To succeed, you need to stay on top of the material and re-listen to lectures, as they're packed with important details. While his class is demanding, it's also rewarding if you put in the effort. Great for serious students!"
He is very funny professor and passionate about biology. His slides have no words and exams can be very specific so I would HIGHLY recommend going to lecture. He goes on a lot of side tangents and many of them end up being on the exams so take very detailed notes. He is not very accessible outside of the classroom but the SI sessions help a TON.
Only uses slides with pictures, so you must go to the lectures, even then it's hard to know what will be on the test since he goes on a lot of tangents. It is very note heavy so you should record the lectures since he talks very fast. Recommend taking someone with written lecture notes, has some extra credit but doesn't move your grade.
I enjoyed taking Professor Eldakar. His lecture slides are useless but just attend class to record lectures and relistened to all of them. If u go to the BUGS sessions and MEMORIZE THAT MATERIAL you'll do good. His tests are hard but he curves them. He has 4 short quizzes that happen before each test but they only weight about 5% of grade
Prof. Eldakar's BIO1510 class is no easy feat, but the secret is to stay engaged. Attend every lecture, record them, and review thoroughly. The exams cover his in-class discussions, so unstuckstudy and other study tools like ChatGPT can really help with prep. With dedication, this class is manageable.
Professor Eldakar is a great professor who makes learning interactive with videos and articles in every module. He's friendly, drops your lowest quiz and assignment grade, and offers a bonus module. Be cautious with writing assignments, he's very strict on AI use, even Grammarly. Make sure to visit his office hours if you have any questions!

(part 3/3) nobody I know has anything good to say about this professor. I got an A in a and p and a B+ in orgo, but a C+ in his class. Probably one of the worst difficulty to class level ratio of any professor. It has been 2 years since his class and I still think about it. unless he's changed, don't take him.
(part 2/3) His lectures is just him rambling about some random off topic story that he finds interesting. would be tolerable if his slides had any sort of substance. too bad they don't cus its just a bunch or random pictures or articles. If you don't read and take notes from like two hundred pages of a textbook you're cooked on the test.
some people love him and some don't, but i liked him. i thought he was funny and the lectures were pretty straightforward. ppts have no words so you NEED to go to class or get a recording to take notes. bugs sessions are so helpful when studying for the tests and they cover some content that he doesn't go over. there's no hw and exams are all mcq
just read the reviews. this guy most definitely writes his own five star reviews. Probably sprinkles in some 4 star reviews to make it believable. they all sound the same generic college student.
Content isn't difficult but he makes it difficult by sprinkling in false information that he tests you on. Complete lack of empathy and overall poor human being. Talks during tests and complained about a student missing a test due to medical issues during a test. PowerPoints are just pictures. He represents why NSU is a failing college.
Dr. Eldakar was very entertaining during his lecture and actually cares about what he is teaching. If you enjoy biology, I highly recommend taking him. You have to pay attention in lectures though, because there are no words on the PowerPoint slides he posts. Overall, he was amazing.
This class was one day a week so we took a quiz everytime we met. He made them harder than they should have been because the answers all sound like they can work and technically they could. He's a great person, super intelligent and nice to talk to so my only complaint is his quizzes and that he talks a lot and goes over time.
He wasn't the worst professor. He's PowerPoints are just pictures so I recommend going to lectures and recording them. Also attending SI helps as well.
He took his shoes off during our midterm and i saw his feet when i turned in my paper. he also writes his own tests and there typos all the time. i can not forgive the feet incident of 2025
Lectures entire time, you can record as long as you ask. 30mins for quiz. Quizzes: progressively get VERY hard, based on lecture & articles. 2 questions come from articles (last few quizzes felt like 1 or none of the Q's were from the articles). Has 9 questions worth 10 points (one is worth 2 points). PowerPoint: uses it, just has pics and links
be ready to take notes of everything he said. The powerpoint is basically useless, sure he make the class interesting. Advice don't miss a single words or class
DO NOT TAKE! Weekly quizzes that are 10 questions but lockdown and webcam, but you can use one side of a notecard, but your face, hands, arms, and notecard must be shown at all times. You will get points off if you don't do it correctly. The class is uninteresting and stuff we all know if your a BIO major. Easy class for the credit, but worth it???
I enjoyed his lectures, the only issue is all of the tests are on exactly what he talked about in his lectures ONLY. The si people said to get an A you'd have to come to every class and every SI session. The tests are not that difficult, they're all curved. He dropped our lowest test grade. He dropped two quiz grades and cancelled our last quiz.
Honestly he's not a good professor, he doesn't give you any content on the slides that he provides; only images, he makes every question on the exam a trick question, he goes off topic in lecture, he's not helpful when responding to emails, and lastly he just makes your life harder. (PLEASE) do not take this guy, i'm telling you.
Super lecture heavy. Record his lectures always because his slides are completely useless. Will go on a lot of tangents so make sure you're really listening to what's related to the lesson. Did not grade a paper originally in the syllabus because there was a big AI problem and provided a less then professional response to the class.
Do not listen to the other ratings. Eldakar is a great professor and very passionate about biology. He is always willing to help you understand. You do have to be in the effort for a good grade but it's worth it.
This man can TALK! He'll go off for 20+ minutes and may go over class time. Exams are tough yet he curves them weirdly. 4 exams, 4 quizzes, no homework. You also do 2 of his research studies for credit. He's cool overall. Show interest in the class and you'll be fine.
