He's still kind of a noob at teaching, but he gives it his all and he's a pretty cool guy... the in-class assignments are pretty cool and the class is very lively; overall i'd recommend him.

Great Class. He makes the atmosphere in the classrooom very comfortable 4ANYBODY 2go up and talk 4 5 mins I prepared 4 my speach 1day b4 I had to present & got a 90%+ on all. Just talk about milk & sword fight, you'll do fine! ;) Id take it again f i had2

He is really nice and has this nice smile. i was early everyday. Very helpful and eager to bring students out of any shell for public speaking! highly recommended

He was a phenomenal teacher! I had a great time in a would-be totally boring class. He was so easy going. Makes you feel comfortable about getting up in front of people and speaking. Assignments are fun with him.

Very easy, i missed the 50 point speach and i still got a B in the class. The class is kind of a joke, but so easy, it's worth it. The only bad thing is that you feel like you are more educated than the prof. but with that said, go for it!

Omar is an awesome teacher and he is very CUTE! He is willing to help you and makes you feel good when you are talking infront of the class, and at the end trust me you will know evetyone in the class!!! I was so scare of this class but defenetly I'll take it again if I had to with him

He is sooo cute and also very nice and easy. Took him in the summer from 7 pm - 9pm and was the best he would let us out early and it was a class of only 21 students a lot usually drop so that's cool. He's easy just go up and do your speech even if your scared you'll do alright. I was always under time and did not do that good but hey I got a B!

I think he is not hottt....he is nice. I think he gets his favorites, but that's just me. Do rec. easy grading. If you mess up just keep on going and eye contact with audience is very important. Book really not required(never opened mine).

mr. O is the best professor on campus. he is very funny and helpful. He always encourages you to do your best; he also creates a very enjoyable working envoriment. He is the bomb. I highly recommend you to take this teacher, you will love his class.

Great, excellent teacher. If you are a nervous wreak just thinking about standing in front of an audience you gotta take Mr. Omar. He makes the environment friendly and AWESOME. We were all friends in class, I knew everybody. TAKE HIM, YOU WILL LOVE HIM. :)

Omar is the best instructor you can ask for a Public Speaking class. He's very helpful, and very generous with his grading. Plus, he makes the class atmosphere very fun and light (coz speech is fun, like he always say!). If speech is not exactly your forte, his class is the one to take!

"SPEECH IS FUN!!" Especially in his class. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. I never had so much in a class. Mr. O makes us feel very relaxed and confident. He is the man!!! TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!

Taking his class is easy, however, he's sooo lazy. In the spring semester he missed like 5 or 4 days. He also has this lame line "Speech is fun". If you are planning to take his class DO NOT buy the text book because you are not going to use it at all.

Speech is fun!! Mr. O is very funny and very helpfull. He makes speech very fun and easy. make sure you attend class and practice your time on your speech so you can get a good grade. I'm afraid of public speaking but he made me feel very comfortable. I would take his class over or any class which he might teach.

Highly recommended teacher for those who fear public speaking. He is hilarious and always knows how to ease up tension. Everyone in the class will interact and get to know each other better making speech time less nerve wrecking. After finishing every speech you'll feel a sense of accomplishment. Great professor! He's funny, very helpful, and keeps the class entertained. Since it was a winter session, we had a speech almost ever week. This class was not exactly 'easy', but the fact that he teaches it so well makes speech an easier process. Make sure to do the outlines & follow the examples given in the book. The Um Game helps out a lot.

If you're a nervous wreck about speech you HAVE to take his class! I was so scared of taking speech but he makes the environment so fun & relaxed. You'll get to know everyone in class which makes giving speeches easy. I got an A in the class. Hes so nice, funny, & generous. He gives lots of gifts to help out your grade. You'll love him trust me!

he is awesome! i was really scared to take speech at first..but i never knew i could have so much fun in that class..only took it for a short term over the winter..i miss dat class..lol..i had good memories ^_^ and my classmates were pretty cool!

He is Awesome!! i LOVED his class. Its not that hard, but its not really that easy either. The hardest thing in his class were the outlines for the speeches. Other than that, AMAZING class. no joke. you should seriously take him! he made speech FUN!

Mr. Omar is cool and helpful at times, but is not very consistent. He can be picky or demanding and you are pretty much on your own as well with the material. Doesn't teach you how to create outlines, but expects you to know how to do them. 5 Speeches and attendance is a must! I am passing, but it's a pain! Be prepared to know your classmates well!

Teacher is ok, but needs to ease up a bit specially if you are a newcomer. By means his class is not easy (not speech in general). Approach with caution because his syllabus is spotty and does change it from time to time. There is something about his smile that makes him very unpredictable.

IT WAS FUN HAVING HIM FOR SPEECH! I PASSED! BUT I WOULD RECOMMEND ANOTHER PROFESSOR. CAREFUL WITH THE OUTLINES!! BUT IF YOU CAN TALK IN FRONT AND HAVE GOOD MEMORY, THEN YOU WILL BE FINE. OTHERWISE, NOT AN EASY CLASS.

awesome professor, makes u laugh a ton which releases a lot of tension. he's such a good guy too! my suggestion to anyone is to make friends with everyone in the class to reduce anxiety..AND PRACTICE UR SPEECHES OUT LOUD A LOT, MEMORIZE THEM! u will need the book! i NEVER thought i could get up & speak, didn't do it well but I DID IT!

Helpful professor, but very demanding. Expects you to know how to write speeches. 5 Speeches, 2 Tests and Final. Take him, but don't expect his class to be a cakewalk if you are new to speech.

He was a great teacher. He feels strongly that everyone in a class should know each other's names, and we did. I met a lot of friends and it helped to calm everyone down. I was still really nervous, but it definitely helped. Easy class, I took it in the summer.

Made class very enjoyable for myself & the rest of my classmates. He taught in a way that was fun & made every student participate, which made it easier come speech days, being that we had all already been up in front of the class a number of times. He appreciates students that try. Very understanding. My whole class looked forward to Mon/Wed night

He is a very sneaky professor. When you go up there to make your speech, show confidence and you'll earn the grade. If you're the shy type, prepare to come out of your shell. HE GRADES TO THE T WHEN IT COMES TO TIME AND TRANSITIONAL WALKS. Lots of group work, but a good class that allows plenty of bonding with other classmates. Take it w/ him.

Speech is a scary subject for many, but professor Musallet makes sure everyone knows each other which helps tremendously. Like in every class- work hard and you'll get a good grade, he is such a nice person and helpful too...I know its a hard subject for those who are shy...But I'm extremely shy and I got an A :-) I definitely recommend him :-)

He was a substitute for my class while professor Maynard was away, but he is cool and nice, pretty outgoing, take his class.

Such a nice guy. He really cares about his students and makes you feel comfortable in an environment that most people are scared of, public speaking. The only thing he is tough on is the time requirements for speeches, but as long as you show improvement over the semester, you WILL get an A or B. SPEECH IS FUN!!!!

Great teacher, i wish there was more teachers like him at Mt.SAC. I took him couple years ago, came back to rate him because I realized how much his class helped me through my life, i was a super shy person, now i am first to speak in front of a class. Take him if you get a chance and you will never regret.

GREAT TEACHER I WAS SCARED TO STAND UP IN FRONT OF PEOPLE AND STILL AM BUT HE MAKES YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE AND READY TO ACCOMPLISH YOUR GOAL VERY HELPFUL AND LIKES TO LAUGH TAKE DURING WINTER OR SUMMER IF ANXIETY IS YOUR DOWNFALL CUZ ITS A SHORT SEMESTER WHICH LEAVES NO TIME TO PANIC ABOUT UPCOMING SPEECHES.

He assigns groups that help you bond with your classmates in order to not freak out when you're up front speaking for 7 minutes at a time. His speeches are easy, the only difficult thing for me was actually going up to speak. Only a few simple workbook homework assignments that can make or break your grade if you're speeches aren't very good.

Well where do I begin?...I put out speech for 3 years because I hate being in front of people giving a speech but man this professor is not only very kind, he knows what he's talking about. i highly recommend him and would gladly take him again if I had too. Met great people and was sad on the last day :( wish i could post the pic of the class.

Assigns a lot of group assignments, which sucked for me cus I always got stuck with the bulk of the work. Allows you to write IDK on multiple choice for half credit. Gives extra credit opportunities, but only a max of 10 points (a fourth of a letter grade). Will base group grades on a class vote.

Great instructor, he plainly tells you what he wants for each speech and will give you an outline of what is expected for each. Follow it and you'll do fine. Time limit is big! I saw people fall under the time limit and fail their speeches, so reach the limit. It's not hard. He will take the time to give you feedback, just ask! It's a fun class!

Omar Mussalet is one of the bet professors I have had at Mt. Sac! he truly makes you feel comfortable in the class, By the time you have a speech you don't feel as nervous because you know everyone in class. would definitely recommend taking professor Mussalet :)

Professor Mussalet is a great professor. He made all the students feel extremely comfortable and took the best approach to squashing the fear of speaking. He is a funny professor and very social able, which helps in this subject. I highly highly recommend him for people with fear of speaking. If you prepare your speeches you will do great.

I have been to many private colleges and met many good teachers, but Omar Mussalet has been one of my top favorite professors in my lifetime! He was so much better than a lot of my professors in past private colleges and I can't believe I found such an outstanding teacher in a community college! :)

You will participate whether you like it or not. Very straight forward about grading. Tries to get the class comfortable with speaking in front of the everyone. Overall not bad just meet what he requires and the time. Barely used the textbook. Don't procrastinate on the research for the projects or you will screw yourself over. Overall it was easy.

Great person, exceedingly reasonable professor when it comes to dates (willing to move days around), and knows the importance of networking and creating a comfortable sense of community for the students - the class was a community. Oh, and you learn how to construct a solid speech and recite it well. You learn a lot from people just talking.

Took summer semester, very easy class. He gave us only four speeches. And one of them is a group project. Clear grading, nice class.

I took his class for summer semester, he was very friendly, funny, helpful, and clear when it comes to instructions and grading ... he helped us to improve in speech; at the end of the semester we had a group project .. it was so much fun and helpful to relax during speeches

This was the one class I was afraid of since I am extremely shy , but it ended up being one of my fav classes in the end. The professor was friendly & made sure the whole class was comfortable w/ each other. He was missing a lot tho. The class requires a lot of practice. 5 speeches, 1 quiz, midterm, & final. Not as bad as you think. Speech is Fun!

Overall he does a good job of getting you used to being in front of the class. My only gripe is his group projects seem pointless and the instructions are vague. The book is $70 and u have to buy new since it has worksheets. But its published by the Mt SAC communications department so good luck finding a Speech professor who doesn't require it.

Professor Musallet is SUPER NICE!! His class is really easy. You do use the textbook and for the midterm you are quizzed on the chapters. I highly recommend you take his class. You wont regret it. I would definitely take this class again.

Hes a tough grader, however If you followed the instructions its an easy A. Hes ready to help I took him in summer it was lots of work but lots of help tho. Worst part was buying the book and bot to much extra credit.

Even though you only use the textbook several times he goes over everything and you will need it for the midterm. He will say hint hint throughout the lectures and it means that will be on the midterm. The assignments he gives us are reasonable to prepare us. I necessarily did procrastinate but if you actually try enough you at least pass with a B

This prof. is a really nice guy and a really caring/good teacher. It's not an easy A but what class is? You def have to put some effort for an A. 5 speeches, not too difficult to accomplish but you have to memorize them because you cannot edit your video. Does not accept late work but I would recommend him to anyone who is a decent student.

Professor Musallet was a great teacher. His class was fun and enlightening. While this class does require a textbook, it is provided for you. I really enjoyed this class and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Professor Musallet was a great professor. Took him during winter online. His speech topics were very clear with only 6 the entire semester. I was hesitant to take him because of the winter shortened semester and didnt want to overwhelm my self. If you have the option to take online take it. His class was super manageable definitely recommend.

Such an easy class to take. 5 speeches total, all super manageable if you put in the effort. Quizzes and discussions on canvas were super easy as well. Prof gives extra credit if you get help from the speech center twice throughout the semester. Easily one of the best professors at Mt. Sac, recommend you to take speech with him in person.

Take this class! Such an easy credit. Professor Musallet is great teacher. He explains clearly and always willing to help. Discussions and quizzes on canvas are super easy. He also provides a textbook for you.

He's a nice teacher, very open and will get you to talk even if you don't like talking. In the 6 week course everything went faster we had like 3 quizzes a week but they aren't timed and there is retakes. This teacher is very picky on what he likes on speeches and it kinda scared me more than to actually go up & present in front of everyone.

Chill professor, I recommend taking his class in the winter, 5 speeches couple of tests a week really easy. And the textbook was online & free.
