Best professor makes it easy to understand math. After every new step she asks the class if you have any questions before she continues with the lesson.

She explains the content very well. She is great at giving students extra help and gives great feedback. I would definitely take her again. You don't have to buy the textbook for this class. I went to the Math Center and took photosphotocopied the problems for homework. Other than that, we didn't use the textbook in class.

Overall a fantastic teacher. I failed Math 110 with an F in the fall and took Dr. Nguyen for Math 110 in the spring. I did majority of the online hw, I received A's on all exams, and I sat in the front everyday. She engages really well with her class and asks questions after explaining her lesson (: she let's students ask questions after class.

I took her for Math 110 and am now taking her for Math 130 because that's how much I love her as a professor! Prof. Nguyen will help you find easy and understanding ways to solve application problems as well. The way she teaches is understanding and she cares for her students. If you receive all A's on your exams, you won't need to take the final!

Dr. Nguyen is simply amazing. I took her Math 130 in spring and got a B. She is helpful and made the class fun. You can always stop her to ask questions if you don't understand anything. I love her so much and she is not teaching Stat 1 next semester, so I am still debating whether I should wait for her or just move on.

Teaches very good. Very nice, she will answer any questions you have. If you miss class on a test day she will let you make it up. You don't need to buy the textbook! she uses an online program.

This class is wonderful with the right teacher. She made math fun and I would definitely take it with her again!! She is very helpful and her tests are not hard. Do the review and you have an A on the test. We did not use the textbook, rather we used 'connectmath' that only required a $40 purchase code... way cheaper than a $144 textbook.

Dr. Nguyen is very knowledgeable on the subject of math. She has a sense of humor, and is very much into math. I'm a slow learner when it comes to math, but she'll stop and explain what you missed. I'd take her again because she's good at explaining the subject, and will do what she can to help you remember the material.

Very awesome teacher! she was clear on all the stuff we needed to learn to pass the class. When she lectured, if we didn't understand something, she would go over it with us and break it down so that we could understand it. Very patient and caring teacher. She genuinely cares for her students.

Dude she is so funny and cool! She knows when to take the proper breaks from math because she understands where we are coming from and she is willing to help anyone who asks for it! She doesn't make you pay for the book only if YOU want to. She always makes sure if you understand and will always explain the questions to the class

Prof Nguyen is great. She goes over tough problems with you in class, so you are prepared for the homework. Don't be afraid to ask questions in class because she'd answer them all. I don't need to buy the book and she gave out Aleks code for free, so I didn't spend any money for this math class. The best MATH PROF!!!!

She encourages you to ask questions before she moves on and will go over whatever you need. Homework is almost always able to be completed and exams are a huge portion. The study guides will help! Only 4 exams plus final. gives a study guide VERY similar to exam. And at the end of the semester she bought our entire 8AM class breakfast!!!

Dr. Orchid Nguyen is a great math professor. Her lectures are clear and precise. I recommend reviewing the material and attempting homework before lectures so the information flows more quickly in your head. It's clear that she loves teaching. I took her last Spring semester so don't be afraid to ask her questions during lecture.

She is a very hard working woman and she is honest about her difficulties in math so you feel like an equal. Come to class every day and it'll be hard not to pass.

Never have I ever understood a math class in my existence. Till I took her class in the Fall of 2018 she's an incredible math professor. Great lectures and the examples she gives are exactly like her exams. And she gives partial credit on a question on the exam if you do something incorrectly. I can't wait to take her pre-cal class soon.

I have taken Professor Nguyens math 50 and 60 classes and would definitely recommend her. She has helped me to understand math better than any other teacher. Her classes are early, but to me they are worth waking up for. She wants her students to succeed.

She was not the best professor because I found myself looking up a lot videos to help myself learn. She collects homework but if you do it, it is harder than the exams so you will be fine. Although she may not be the best teacher, she is a great person because she is very passionate and understanding. Overall, you can be successful/effort is key.

I don't think I would survived online Calculus if it weren't for her. She helped us so much. The transition to online was really tough for me, but Dr. Nguyen was understanding and put so much efforts into it. I wish I can take her for Math 70 and 80.

I took Orchid Spring 2020 and she was amazing in person and just as amazing online! If you go to class and show you care then you'll do great and form a great bond with her!

Dr. Nguyen is very passionate about math. She assigns a lot of homework for each module on Aleks. The homework is always harder than the exams. If you do well on the homework and keep up on all assignments you will get a good grade.

Prof Nguyen is the best. I've had her for 3 classes now. This is the first online class I have with her. She has videos, lecture notes for every single lesson. I don't understand why some students complained. These students probably don't watch videos, read the lecture notes, or come to the meetings. I don't like Aleks, but it is just hw!

Passionate professor for math, but be ready to learn on your own if you don't ask questions. Many people are afraid to ask or just don't pay attention when she is teaching, don't be that person. You have to pay for aleks but as long as you look at the explanation you will learn a lot. You are on zoom for test so study!!!

Overall a really good teacher. A majority of the learning came from using Aleks which I didn't have an overall problem with, yes it was a lot but nothing I couldn't work with. But it was like 25ish topics every week. She would also hold a class just to go over a few topics before you learned something new and also had the lecture videos.

I just read the chain of bad comments from a same student obviously. Dr. Nguyen is the best Math instructor that I've ever had. She cares a lot for her students. During the pandemic, she helped us so much. If you got a bad grade from her, you have to do absolutely NOTHING! She gives ton of partial credits.

Professor Nguyen is by far one of the best professors at LBCC and so far my favorite math teacher thus far. This is a math class, there will be loads of work, however, her unique way of engaging with her students will help one absorb the lesson at hand with ease. She is not confusing or a fast teacher. She goes over her lesson in detail! 5 STARS!

She is very sweet and caring person. I think that at first she may come off as attitudeish, but she is just trying to be funny. Great notes and videos on how to solve the problems. Zoom lectures weren't mandatory, but did help with questions. She uses Aleks for homework, which can be annoying due to the knowledge checks and lots of homework.

Dr. Nguyen shows that she cares about her students and is very accommodating for your situations as long as you communicate properly. Homework, quizzes, and tests are on ALEKS, if you manage your time the workload is manageable for an online class. Didn't require we show up to zoom. 10 quizzes, 3 Exams, 1 Final Exam. She has Big Bang Theory memes.

Overall she is super nice and funny. Every practice test / study guide was nearly identical to the actual exam, with small changes like values and signs. All quizzes were remote. Some concepts were hard to stay up to speed with, because others knew it already and she'd move on. Grade distribution: Exams: 45% Final: 20% HW: 20% Quizzes: 15%.

She is a great teacher and explained tough concepts really well. As long as you go to lecture and do the homework, you should have a great understanding of calculus. I received high A's on all exams because I used her study guides, did the homework, and paid attention during the lectures. HW on ALEKS which is not the easiest but makes you learn things.
