shes nice, she tries to make jokes and their funny most of the time. she doesnt just stand and lecture its pretty informal even in a huge class. shes more than glad to share information that someone may be curious about she actually goes home and looks it up for us. the info is hard just like in any science class but i mean...come on...STUDY!!

GREAT TEACHER! I took her over summer and it was great. She really connects with you and tries to help you understand the concept and not just know the information. She would have study guides for each test and pull questions directly from them. I would def. take a class with her again!

class was wayy more in depth than i originally thought it would be but not too difficult if you are interested in the brain and how it works. Her tests are difficult but she gives a study guide and all of the answers are in the lecture slides. She also is very informative and answers all questions as best she can. Overall not bad.

This teacher is really nice, and extremely helpful and considerate. But nothing can prepare you for the difficulty of her tests. You can learn the material top to bottom (which I did) yet the wording in the questions and the questions themselves will deter you from being able to get an A or B. She's a great person, but her tests are impossible.

This class is really easy. Since attendance isn't mandatory I never went and I still got an A. She gives you study guides and if you do them and read the book then you'll definitely do well. I really recommend the professor and I would definitely take another one of her classes.

This teacher makes sure that you are prepared for the tests especially if you come to class and do the study guide! She is very helpful and will gladly stay after class or meet with you to make sure that you understand everything.

Theres alot of material for this course. She has study questions for the end of each section. Study them!! DONT buy the book, you wont need it. BEST teacher i've had at FSU. She knows what she's talking about and always opens up discussion boards during the week of an exam and as long as you attempt to answer a question you post, she gives you the answer. After taking her for PSB2000, I was super excited to get into her EXP3203 section. Her B&B class is definitely easier (still challenging, but great). She remains one of my favorite professors but do expect more studying for S&P. She has a way of making very complex material easy to understand. Take her if you get the chance! &Read!

She is a great teacher. Test are multiple choice and not tricky. As long as you study you should be fine and also attend class as much as possible because she clarifies her powerpoints.

I've taken Research Methods, Brain and Behavior, and Sensation & Perception with Dr. Johnson. She is excellent. Research Methods is a total drag as a class, but she made it bearable, because she is so funny, and down-to-earth: An absolute pleasure to be lectured by.

Uses personal examples which helps to understand material. print out PP slides from Bb and take notes on those, book rarely used. Study for tests and TAKE HER! You will learn!!!

I'm taking my third class with her this semester (Sensation and Perception), and have previously taken Physiological Psychology and Research Methods with her. She even managed to make RM interesting, which is quite a feat. Just attend class and study the questions at the end of the power points.

Great professor but has some trouble communicating what exactly you need to know for the exam. First test were easy, last test was so hard. But she is hot so going to class is fun.

You can get up to 5 percent up on your final grade through extra credit which was very ambigous on her syllabus. So just so everyone knows DO THE EXTRA CREDIT!

There are four exams throughout the semester that are based off of various powerpoints that she goes over in class. The final exam is optional and will take the place of your lowest exam grade. You can also gain up to 5 points of extra credit on your final grade! I took this class as a LS science credit and enjoyed it! Just attend the lecture!

I took her for brain & behavior, received an A and was beyond excited to have her again. Unfortunately, the volume of material we are expected to learn for this course makes it near impossible to excel in this class. As an A student, studying for 20+ hours got me a C on both exams. Love her but she makes this class way harder than it should be.

Like everyone else has said DO THE EXTRA CREDIT! Because of the extra credit, which is five extra points to your final grade, I received an A+ in the class. All the test questions are from her study guides! Go to class, pay attention and you will be fine she's also a good lecturer.

Any class with Dr. Johnson is a class you should be taking. She is fair, clear, and honest about what she expects from her students. If you do the study questions and really understand the answers, this class should be an easy A. Some of the material is tough. She's down to earth, funny, and really knows what she's talking about and is good at teaching confusing topics in a way that is easy to understand. I've always hated science because of all of my terrible past teachers but this professor made her class so interesting and actually had someone like me paying attention, and I never received below a B on an exam. You must study for the tests and it would be helpful if you went to class but you don't really have to. Great Professor and great class!

Material can be difficult without a background in physio but she is very good at explaining if you don't understand. she entertains a lot of questions in class and that puts us behind. Overall come to classtake notesdo study questions and read book for clarification. Grade is 75% lecture 25% lab (sheep brain anatomy).

She is an excellent professor. This course has 25% of the grade coming from the separate lab component. The grade of this course is from 4 exams at 65%. The remaining 10% of the grade comes from the final project (group project) that is worked on in the lab component.

She's super funny and outgoing. Her lectures are always interesting even if the material isn't and she loves telling stories. She's a super sweet person and her tests are very straight forward.

Dr. Johnson was an excellent teacher all of her test are multiple choice and she gives extra credit reacher to do my advice is to get this done in the beginning because its hard to volunteer in research later on and her test get a little bit trickier after the first one. Tests are easier than the content will lead you to believe because she words them fairly, but do study! Took for EXP 3203C as well because I love how she teaches. No mandatory cumulitive final, no project, no essays. Extra credit essay optional.

She is a great professor! Makes sure people understand, answers all questions, makes herself available outside of class. I was not interested in this topic at all but I don't blame her for it.

The Easiest class I have ever taken. You don't have to take notes or anything to pass. Here's how you pass: DO THE STUDY QUESTIONS. The tests are just multiple choice versions of the study questions she posts at the end of the powerpoints. I did this and never got below a 96 on a test. Easiest. class. ever. She is also super nice and caring.

I loved taking this class. The lecture is interesting but attendance isnt mandatory so if you dont show up there are PowerPoints on canvas. The only grades though are extra credit and 4 exams (the final is optional and can replace your lowest exam grade). As long as you attend most lectures, take notes, then study them you should be 100% fine!

I was super nervous for this class because I struggle with science-type material, but I ended up loving it and receiving an A+. Her lectures are engaging and she provides all of the information you'll need to know on the exams. Expectations were clear and she was always open to hear feedback and help whenever she could. Great professor.

Really easy class and a laid-back professor. Study guides are basically exactly what the exam will be, so pay attention to them. Also, she offers 10 full points extra credit on your final grade so there's a buffer if you need it.

While she is an amazing professor, intro to brain & behavior was something I personally struggled with; I didn't understand the content and I didn't do good on the tests/quizzes. That being said, I'm sure if I had gone to office hours I would have been better off, plus she gives many opportunities for extra credit in the beginning so TAKE THEM.

PSB2000 consists of content that could be super hard to understand but Professor Johnson makes it so easy. She dumbs down everything and the worksheets she gives out for grades are very helpful for exams and easy As. Gives extra credit and has a straight forward study guide for each exam.

Dr. Johnson is great! This class leans more towards neuroscience, which is not my thing, but if you study hard, you should do fine on the tests. She gives SO many extra credit opportunities & there is an optional final. Your lowest exam gets dropped. She is very intelligent and really cares about her students. 10/10 would take her class again.

WOW. One of the very best professors i have ever come to know. Professor Johnson makes material approachable and constantly interesting. She teaches harder material in many ways such as through drawings, videos, and explanations of studies done. All around, a brilliant women and professor.

Great teacher and the class consists of 4 tests and a final. She gives extra credit but her tests can be tricky. You have to study for them but do not need the book. This class is hard but if you study 3 days before and do study q's you're good. The lab is pretty hard but study for those tests too because its 25% of the grade. I'd take her again.

This class is 4 exams and an optional final to replace lowest test grade. Homework is quizzes and worksheets. The worksheets are tedious and sometimes hard, but they really help reinforce the test material. This class is not as easy as I expected. You must study very hard and a few days before the test. Best advice is do the worksheets as you go!

I loved this class. I have biology background so that made the first exam easiest. I still got an A on all the exams just by using her review questions and studying the worksheets she assigns. There is extra credit available and as long as you go to class everything should make sense because she really knows the material well.

I highly recommend taking this class with her. I'm a psych major so this went towards my credits for that and I wish I could take this class with her for the first time again. You will need to study but she has easy homework worksheets that really help you study and help boost your grade. She also provides what to study on the slides.

Easy class if you just do the work. Weekly HW papers but they are completion grade. Took her zoom classes and her few tests were open note/book. To complete HW you will have to watch screen recordings outside of lectures but it's all manageable and easy. Great prof- take her class!!!

Dr. Johnson is the best professor I have had at FSU and I have been lucky to have a handful of them. She makes the material relate to everyday life and keeps it fun. Class is easy if you pay attention on zoom, take notes, and do the weekly worksheets. She has the demeanor of a 1st grade teacher but is teaching about a topic that is so intellectual.

Professor Johnson is a very king and engaging instructor whose lectures are very well done and interesting. Lectures include her drawing the anatomy of the brain and its components, so it will benefit visual learners. Class is easily feasible w/o attending lectures however. Just take good notes, do the worksheets, and study!

This class is set up for you to succeed, the module homework (one a week) is the perfect study guide while taking the test (5 tests total). I used the module worksheets and got As on all the (open note) tests. Prof Johnson is super caring and understanding, not to mention passionate about what she teaches.

Dr. Johnson has been absolutely amazing! I had her for Summer B and love the class structure. 7 open note quizzes + the state mandated quiz for 85%, worksheets (1 per 16 modules/chapters) for 15%. This class had a worksheet due every week and 4 tests. while thats all your graded on if u pay attention to her lectures you will be set!!! I highly recommend taking her. Also she is very understanding and will help you if you ask!!!

She is very nice. Her 1st test is easy but the others are difficult to complete during the time allotted. Sometimes she would make us do a module on our own and still test us on it. She said it was an easy A but this involves a lot of time. Worksheets due every couple days. She does tend to trail off in lectures and not complete notes.

I loved Dr. Johnson. However, the class wasn't really aligned with my personal learning style so I did have some trouble with applying what she taught us. I personally did not read the textbook and still managed to keep a solid B the whole semester just through lecture notes and the worksheets. Overall, an interesting class.

This class was supposed to be an easy A, but I actually had to put in a little work to get the A. Not too much because the test are open book open note, so make a good study guide or take it with friends. there are also 10 point homeowkrs that are graded by completion but sometimes it was a lot to do. final is optional. 3-4 exams.

At the end of it, how a neuron looks and functions, how synapses look and function, etc.. will be burned into your brain. She is extremely organized and her modules are clean. TAKE HER. Tests are open book, attendance is not mandatory, module assignments are a worksheet that can be difficult if you are not a psych or science major but you can use the powerpoints and google to fill it out.

Best prof ever. Attendance is mandatory, but she lets you miss 5 classes before it would affect your grade. Lectures are very helpful for understanding everything. I am not even into science but I love this class. You prob have to study in order to be able to get an A and a B, but shes so clear about whats on the test so studying is easy

Dr. Johnson has been the best professor I have had so far at FSU. Her lectures are extremely easy to follow along with and makes sure everyone understands the info that is being presented. On top of that se is extremely sweet and very understanding if you need an extension on homework or extra days to prepare for a test. Awesome overall person.

Recorded lectures but suggest you show them to class anyway. dont need textbook to pass. Make sure to study to do well, but lectures prepare you well. negative is if you don't finish lectures in class you have recorded lecture to watch. If you dont learn well online might be issue. utilize worksheets and study questions and will pass easily!

This class was so interesting. Participation grades are taken through quizzes during class, but are only worth 1 point. Attendance it recommended because it makes the tests way easier and also it is super interesting so not really a pain to show up to class. She uses drawings for concepts which is so helpful to understand the content. She makes the lectures interesting and gives incredibly fair tests. She will work with you for makeup tests and wants you to succeed.

It can be a difficult class if you don't study or actively complete the assignments or study for the exams. Her exams are pretty straightforward if you study for them. You don't really NEED the textbook, but it is recommended.

But other than that, the information that she says is on the exams is actually the information that is on the exams. Would definitely take her again.

Great professor with opportunities to bring up your grade as her class depends on your test grades, with an optional final exam. She gives a great and exciting class style overall but be ready to study hard (with a lot of memorization). No homework, other than when she doesn't finish her heavy lectures (which happens at least every week).

Dr.Johnson was a great professor! She hand wrote notes and drew diagrams with us. She gave us 1-2 worksheets every week & class was mandatory. There would be a quiz at the end of every class for attendance. There are 4 exams and a final, all closed note, in person. You need to study and put in the work for an A. Don't take if looking for easy class

Lots of amazing guest lectures. She's very nice and great at teaching, but has assignments that nobody will get a perfect score on because her grading criteria are very unclear. Nobody's sure what info she wants. It's not too bad, but we always get some points off. Theres some group work, and a big paper but you have plenty of time to do it.

best professor i've had at FSU by far. made the class so incredibly interesting and taught the class at a very reasonable pace. if u don't understand something she will gladly take the time to make sure you do, no judgement ever. by far my fav class i've taken. lecture heavy and mostly graded by tests but if you study you'll pass

Orenda is a very nice and easy teacher. She is willing to help students whenever they need it and is very approachable. Some assignments (SEER assignments) were graded harsher than expected, but nothing debilitating. Reviews for other classes look negative, but she is easily the best person to have for PSB-4400.

Loved this class!! All of the exams were very easy to prepare for - I just memorized the answers to the study questions/worksheets and got an A on every exam (didn't know all the details of the PowerPoint). Questions on the test were exactly like those questions. If you're Pre-med, there's a lot of content in this class that comes up on the MCAT.

Dr. Johnson was great, you will learn a lot about the neuro field from this class. Aside from the time it was held at, 2:30-4:30 I did not have any complaints. The SEER assignments could be tricky as it was not always clear what was wanted for them but if you come to class and put in effort getting an A should be no problem.

Engaging lectures, with a focus on worksheets and study questions. Unstuckstudy AI proved very helpful for test prep. If you keep up with the material, tests are straightforward.

The easiest 4000-level neuro class at FSU! There's a good amount of reading-based assignments, and while some instructions were a bit unclear at times, Dr. Johnson graded fairly and was incredibly kind. The only downside was that the class met once a week at 2 PM on Fridays, but that wasn't Dr. Johnson's choice. Overall, highly recommend!

Professor Johnson is one of the sweetest professors I know. Her class is definitely test-heavy, and it reflects your grade the most. The tests are written off the worksheets she provides. You can do this class with paper and pen, but I definitely recommend getting an iPad if you can afford it. I really enjoyed this class. Oh the final is optional.

Four major exams with an optional final, and you can miss up to six classes (or more if you reach out) throughout the semester.

Amazing professor who genuinely cares about her students and provides many extra resources to support learning material. Her lectures are in-depth and she is open to all questions. Truly have nothing bad to say. Her tests are multiple choice but she provides good study questions to prepare you and if you study what she recommends, you'll score well

She is amazing and genuinely cares about her students! There are 4 options for extra credit, 4 exams, and an optional cumulative final (to replace your lowest exam grade). There are worksheets to be completed for each module, but they genuinely help with studying. Exams are easy and use the study questions!!

Love her! Very engaging, interesting, and easy to talk to. Each unit has: one lecture, online question packet (graded by completion), and a 40ish question quiz (online, open-note). Final exam is closed-note, but she provided a massive study guide and spent the last week reviewing. One group project (not presentation). Would love to take her again!

Dr Johnson is by far my favorite prof at FSU. She is extremely caring and truly wants everyone to do well. She does a short quiz at the end of every lecture to review new material and takes attendance that way. Lots of review in class and assigns worksheets that are just completion. Makes information very digestable and offers A TON of extra credit

I loved Dr. Johnson. She's super sweet and wants everyone to succeed. The class was really easy as long as you put in some effort to complete all the worksheets and study off of them. The test questions were always straight forward and as long as you really review the worksheets, you'll be good. Final was optional
