Very organize teacher. He is very nice but has a lot of rules on how you must do his work. NO test or quizzes at all but good speech and must be on time.

class is easy. only 4 speeches. but there are 2 fairly busy assignments associated with last 2 speeches. easy, but will have to do a lot of research for speeches. dont buy book, wont ever use.

He was ok, but I personally didn't like him very much. Class was painfully boring, same stuff over and over. All we did was go over criteria for the speeches. Don't buy the textbook; you will never use it. A couple of research assignments, pretty easy, and speeches and that it is. Prepare for your speeches and you shouldn't have too much trouble.

He was a great teacher and very clear on what he wanted for his speeches. Yes its true he does talk a lot and repeat himself at times but he really is not that bad. If you do your work and speeches you would most likely get an "A" or "B". Don't buy the book he doesn't use it at all!!

Very easy class. You know EXACTLY what he wants and only 4 speeches. You get about 2 weeks to get 1 speech done. Honestly, I hate public speaking, I stutter, and get really nervous...And I'll be walking out with an A in his class. You can read straight off the paper and get a "B" on the speech.

He is easy overall, but an EXTREMELY hard grader. If you are leaning to the side he will take a lot of points off. Your peers don't grade your speeches they just give you feedback. He helps if you ask for it.

I hate speech and giving speeches even for the smallest audience! But Professor Cuan is an easy teacher, and you get to pick your topics. There are 3 major speeches and 1 practice speech at the beginning. I would definitely recommend him!

I think he is little strict on grading speeches but there were 3 assignments which are very easy. The research assignments count more than the the speeches, so just follow his directions & get an A in the class.

Mr. Cuan was a very good teacher. There were 3 speeches in all in his class and he really makes you feel comfortable. Along with his grading, he allows 3 students in the class to judge each of your speeches and give you a grade. I learned a lot from this class!

THIS IS A GREAT TEACHER!!! He explains everything sooo clearly that if you can possibly miss something he gives you an applaud ;) Very few assignments, he makes the enviroment calm since hes so nice and chill!

Mr.Cuan goes by an outline he gives you during the beginning of the semester which is very easy and he explains it. Just do the work,you don't need the textbook,and its only 6 speeches. Very easy to do. Just conquer your fears of talking in front of people and you will do fine..!! This professor is awesome..!!

I took this class during the Summer term and overall it was simple. However, since its in the Summer the assignments are faster paced so expect to do more work than usual. Did not use the textbook AT ALL. Speeches require good amount of research but he makes it simple to do. Got a B on every speech but an A in the class.

He a really good teacher. we only had to do 3 speeches and some group work. we barely use the book and his exam was easy as hell. I recieved an A and im super lazy anddidnt try hard in his class. Recommended.

Do not buy the book. I never even looked at it. He says to buy it, but you do not use if for anything. As for the class, it was fun! He is a great teacher and knows a good speech when he sees it. The most important thing to him is eye contact. I was no good at that part, but i made up for it in everything else. I got an A. I recommend him!

Basically, you have to do 3 speeches. One about you (your interests, etc) and two others that you can pick the subject on. Pretty easy class and I don't even like public speaking. Don't buy the textbook because you won't use it AT ALL.

Oscar is a really nice guy. He is very clear on what he wants in the class, and his assignments are very straight forward. Like literally the instructions are step by step for five year olds. There are like 3 speeches and a group project. Really easy A but I'd have preferred a harder teacher for speech who would push me. Hes funny and understanding

Prof. Cuan is nice but a little awkward at times. He is very committed to what he is teaching. The class is pretty simple. It consists of a few presentations and out of class work and you're pretty much set.

I took professor Cuan in the summer. I got an A for the class even though i got a B on all my speeches. The class is very easy and he is very helpful and flexible I left to miami for a week and was still able to make up my speech upon my return. No textbook, No test, this class is a breeze. Tells exactly what he expects.

Very good teacher, he's very helpful but you have to do the research assignments to get a good grade. I got A's on all my speeches but didnt do one research assignment and my final grade was a C. His class is easy if you pick good topics for your speech that you can do easy research on. he doesn't use a book and the final is an impromptu speech.

Great professor. The work leads to the speeches. The work is easy and self explanatory. Professor is cool and funny. Final is super easy. Just need to talk for a minute about a subject and that's it.

Cool professor. He's easy to talk to if you have a question. He's a bit of a tough grader on the speeches, but I got an A on every one. The other assignments are pretty easy and he grades them easy -- they help if you don't do great on the speeches. A lot of extra credit assignments if you need it. I would recommend him or his wife for speech.

Professor Cuan is by far one of the best professors I've had at Valencia. He really wants his students to succeed and will do his best to help. Before this class I could not stand the thought of speaking in front of a class, but this class really did help a lot. It's also a very easy A as long as you do your outlines and speeches.

He really did everything to make the students feel as comfortable as possible. The final was a short answer question about your experience and a 45 second speech and you choose the topic. I had a great experience with this class. He's really straight forward and it's clear from the beginning of each assignment what he expects of you and what the requirements are. There's no surprise assignments or penalty points. He's really clear on directions and if you need help with anything he's willing to help.

Best professor ever. I hate doing speeches but he prepares you for your speech and offers lots of help. You do a total of 4 speeches the first one is with someone else and its not graded. The 2nd is about your self. 3rd is about a cult0ural you pick. 4th persuasive. Best class and teacher.

Great class. Not the easiest, but I feel more confident giving a speech in front of people. There's a speech the first day, then a paired speech about a current event. Your next speech is about yourself, then you have a speech on cultural awareness, followed by the persuasive speech. You do have power points & research with the last 2 speeches.

Easiest class I've taken at Valencia, (Summer A) was terrified of speaking in front of people, but he made it less dreadful. Outlines for speeches are clear cut and I will be using it for other class speeches. Gives out tons of extra credit like time keeping during speeches. 4 speeches, brown bag, informative, persuasive, and research. funny guy!!

Speech is difficult. Cuan is a lenient grader and gives slack for intro class. Very understanding even when you cry in class. Gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. Thought I would get a B but all the research,works cited, and extra credits got me an A

I fear talking in front of people but Professor Cuan made his class very laid back which helped me overcome my nerves. He lets you pick the topics on what you want to talk about and he also provides nice feedback so you can improve on your next speech. Easy A take him.

I took his class as a transient student in the summer. Yes, you have to present. Yes, you're not the only one that's nervous. But he sets you up for success and ensures you feel comfortable presenting. He lists his grading criteria clearly so you know exactly what to do and not to do. Overall, he taught me a lot and I would definitely do it again.

If you can, take this class as a half semester ( Summer A or Summer B) because there's less speeches! Professor Cuan is super chill and gives great feedback. Put some effort into your speeches and you will be more than fine. The guidelines he provides are very helpful. He makes speech not as terrifying. Definite recommend this class!

Good professor that genuinely wants to see his students succeed. He sets clear guidelines for his speech grading so just pay attention and include everything he looks for in a speech. Very easy going and welcomes all students - even those with stage-fright.

Professor Cuan is a funny, easy to understand, and overall nice guy. He gives you 4 speeches and the first is a group speech. He reminds you of due dates and expects some sort of effort. Even if English is nit your first language' he will work with you. There rally is no Homework but a few assignments every now and then.

Every speech is set up based on one outline that is always available on blackboard. A total of 5-6 speechs. He isn't tough on grading so easy A/B. He doesn't have much of a sense of humor thats his only con. Other than that, his class is pretty easy to pass. make sure you turn every assignment in and there's no way you can fail. Good luck!

Mr. Cuan was an excellent professor. I usually don't enjoy giving speeches, but his class was very easy-going. He provides a standard outline for each speech, which make the process of writing them much easier. He is clear on what he wants, so he grades by the rubric. The professor gives good feedback. Such an easy A. I was really worried about taking speech because I am a shy person but he made it as painless as possible. There was only like 4 homework assignments the whole semester. He wasn't a tough grader when it came to speechs. The final was easy everyone always gets 100.

Before the class even starts, as soon as you register, he sends you his syllabus to let you know a little bit about the class beforehand. He'll work with you and will try to help as much as he can. Mr. Cuan was a great professor. He was very specific with his rubric so you always know what to improve. Honestly the class was an easy A if you just put in a little effort. If you don't try don't expect to be handed an A. He also offers extra credit for every speech you do if you volunteer to be a time keeper or an audio visual helper.

Criteria for speeches are pretty straightforward. Do what he says and youll get a good grade. Helped me a bit with speaking in front of others after a couple of speeches. Would definitely recommend.

I took Professor Cuan per recommendation from another student who had him in the past and I was not let down! This class was very enjoyable and the speeches were not too bad. He gives great feedback for each speech and as long as you follow the guidelines (which he clearly gives) you should be fine! He also gives extra credit opportunities.

Took his speech class for summer A term. He was awesome. He does explain things down to the detail. So you will be prepared. There were 4 speeches. First one with a partner. The other 3 are easy 3-7 min speeches. I am not a person who likes to speak in front of the class but he made it VERY easy. Take him!

His speech class is very easy just do the work and youll pass he gives his F&S 6 speeches and they are easy no tests and no textbook so yay. He is very understanding.

Not too tough in grading. Simple class to pass and the group projects makes it a fun class because you really get to know the people as they each present. Class was fairly simple, only five speeches but they are not too bad. Also attendance is mandatory, but the teacher is understanding if you can't make it.

Overall easy and great professor. I found him kinda annoying cause he talks a lot but he is good. You will need to talk to your classmates for assignments but you'll get over it.

If you're taking his class for speech, he is a great professor to take it with. Most of the lectures are about how to format essays or reminders on how to make your speech better. He assigns homework but they are very easy and simple work.

Hes a good teacher but his way of grading is sooo annoying. Instead of 15/15 hell give like 14.85 or 14.96 and its the most ridiculous thing ever. Theres ALOT of busy work but its honestly really easy. Other than his grading hes pretty good.

Prof. Cuan is amazing! I am an introvert person who was very afraid to take this class. However, Prof. Cuan made it bearable. English is not my first language, and I still ended up with A+. During summer we had 4 speeches. He is very helpful and always open to answer questions. Do the work and you should be able to get at least a B. Take him!!

Great proffesor. Very easy, there was a lot of speeches but there was so much time to complete them and they were so easy I would always wait for the day before to complete it. His grading was very fair and easy. There were no test, just a final speech that was worth a little more but still just as easy.

This man is a goat. Literally gives so much creative freedom and works with you on it to make sure it follows his criteria. He really cares about his students! He gave us a lot of room to just be ourselves and I love the trust he has for his students. Super funny and chill guy. 4 speeches with 4 outlines, so easy grade overall.

I took Fundamentals to Speech with him and at first, I was scared because there's 6 mandatory speeches in this course. However, he gave you step by step instructions on how to prepare for the speeches. This class is lecture heavy but this class wasn't too hard to pass. He also gives you extra credit for volunteering :)

If you are deciding whether or not to take him , go REGISTER. Participation equals an easy pass.Funny and understanding guy, you will have a couple main speeches that aren't too long. He gives you time to prepare and practice. He learned the names of every student in our class by memory after only a few classes.Genuinely a professor that cares.

The best teacher i've ever had. He made the class entertaining while still keeping us on track, and we finished the semester early too. Very helpful and good with feedback, he will become your friend so long as you also put the effort in the lessons. Assignments are super clear and to thr point and he will walk you through every step.

It is a very straightforward class you have to come to class to give the speeches, very flexible professor and understanding. Class is very fun participation matters because there is an assignments where you have to interview people and work as a group. Oscar Cuan was a great professor to have. He was always respectful and very clear with assignments. He is also very prepared and has multiple back ups for assignments in case of issues. Very good grader as well. I recommend taking him if you want an easy and stress free class. Just do the work assigned and you'll be fine.

As someone that hates public speaking it was a very smooth and easy class. If you take it in mixed mode you'll only have 3 in person speeches (which are pretty simple) and the rest are all videos. It's an easy A if you do the work and submit your videos. The work is not hard at all.

He is a good teacher, and one of the benefits is that he gives extra credit if you volunteer on speech days. As long as you deliver the speech on the date you sign up for it, you should be good and pass the class Don't lose any points if you are dressed appropriately. He is a tough grader when it comes to the major speeches.

He explained in detail, answered all questions and made you comfortable enough to give live speeches when needed. He has 3 big speeches and a few tiny ones that were less than 3 minutes long. Take him! This is one of the classes that I really enjoyed. I believe the professor made the class enjoyable, and it is one of the best classes I have taken at Valencia. There is a little homework, but the good thing is that you can choose the topic you prefer, which helps a lot. There will also be many chances to participate in his class.
