Prof. Preciado is a good guy! Easygoing, nice guy, and class isnt to hard.. I can recommend his class.

He is completely amazing. He brings his passion into the class and it gets you excited about what you are learning. I actually read the book in his class. Plus, he's hot, that cant hurt

This has been a challenging class but the professor makes it easy to understand what the expectations are for me. I like his class very much, I only wish I would have had him for my previous english classes.

I am glad that we can all agree on the hotness factor! He is super fine. I wasn't so sure about this class at first, but as the semester progressed it became my favorite course. Prof. Preciado is genuinely interested in his students and thus the discussions were very democratic, engaging, and thought-provoking. Highly recommended.

watch out, he is more helpful than you expect from teacher.he is very very ifluenced about preparing the students to universities.i can guarantee you that you will end upo with good great for the rest of you classes if you take him. NO MUCH HOMEWORKS BUT YUOU BETTER DO THEM. HE IS availble after class

Professor Preciado is extremely helpful and he genuinely cares about his students and their learning. As long as you do the assignments and attend class you will easily pass. As a bonus he is very attractive and it is a delight to sit and listen to the lecture or lesson.

Super smart guy. Linguistics major I believe? Interesting subject matter. He's a tough grader, but he is always in his office and urges students to meet one-on-one to discuss papers. My writing excelled drastically. Take his course!

Very smart man. Incredibly helpful. Always let us know exactly what he needed us to do and was available for help. Likes to have one on one time, and has a very good sense of humor. Fair grader, and even though we read a lot, the readings were interesting and inspiring.

What a great professor! He is interesting and fair. He only asks for 4 essays the entire semester and he is very helpful with helping you pass the class. The book is "The Gangster We Are All Looking For"... and it is a great read!

Professor Preciado is amazing. He truly wants his students to do well and not only pass his class, but pass the mandatory portfolio that all English 49 students have to do. He's very helpful and is eager to answer anyone's questions.

I loved this class then not so much then i loved it again! His a really good teacher i learned a lot in his class, very helpful also, He give hw, he will help you till the end, but he did not recommend himself for 101, because he said he was hard, and i didn't take him for that, but for Eng49 i strongly recommend him:)

preciado is awesome!! hes full of cheesy jokes but he's really helpful! he's always there to answer all your questions and he motivates you to do well in his class. And the HW he assigns are help towards your essays

I love this teacher! He really cares about the student's learning. He is very helpful. You can ask him questions whenever you want and he will be there to answer. I took Eng. 49 and 101 from the perspective of a Chicano and I learned a lot from that culture.

Professor Preciado is by far, the best teacher i've had since ive been in college. Very helpful, hw helps extremely wih essays. Essays are long and slightly difficult but allows plenty of peer work and always available during office hours.Take him for any class you can.No matter what, even if your struggling, he'll help.I'm gonna miss his classes:)

Professor P rocks and you'll never have a better teacher for learning how to read and write just like the best. He's also really cool. Always aviabable for students. Go to his class though or you'll be lost.

One of the best teachers I've had! Although his class isn't easy, his re-do policy is a clear path to an "A". I do agree with other comments on him being unclear on his assignments, but he is always willing to meet to clarify anything you don't understand. Hard work and an open mind is all you need for this class!

Great guy made class interesting we went on field trips, he gave us texts to print and bring to class. Easy class if you go everyday and join the conversations this class totally kept my attention through the semester. I really recommend this class if you want to learn how to write good essays.

I learned a lot in his class, he is a great and determined teacher. I loved all the topics of the essay. It was a challenging class but I enjoyed it and was proud of the confidence he gave the whole class to do well. He is always available if you need help. Recommend him!

Good professor, but not the best. It was not hard to study in his class, so I would recommend him. Easy to receive "a".

There's three essays: 1800 words, 2000 words, and 2200 words. He builds you up over the semester, taking things "bird by bird" as he says, and helping you along the way. Make no mistake, 205 is a very tough composition class, but Oscar's door is always open and he'll always help. You can also revise essays, which helps. He's also very attractive.

Preciado has to be one of the best professors I've ever had. He is so supportive of his students and he is passionate about his job. He puts in A LOT of effort to give us all the info we need to pass the class. I felt terrible because "life" happened and I was unable to keep up with the class and did not pass. Wish he was teaching 205 this semester

I took Prof Preciado for English 47 and 101 because of Puente. Honestly those 2 semesters were life changing. But English 101 was definitely a challenge so I had to do what was best which was seeking help and going to the his office hours and the english center. Make sure to always annotate and don't miss class. He's really an awesome teacher.

Professor Preciado's English 101 course is designed to give you the most basic tools in becoming a proficient writer in the academic world. His course is enlightening and his hand-out's will become a staple in every serious student's reference guide. He allows infinite rewrites on papers so it is impossible to not receive an A.

Go to class, read, participate and do all of the essays! that will get you a passing grade. He is super cool if YOU communicate and reach out to him.

Prof. Oscar Preciado cares about his students and their success. The discussions we had in class made the students engage in the discussion and relate their personal experiences with their reading. This way of teaching helps the students learn and enjoy the class at the same time. Prof. Preciado is a great example for the type of profs. needed.

Love this professor! He has an amazing class, he touches on social problems and makes you use your critical thinking skills in many ways. I love the articles he hands out, they make you more aware of social issues. He is very political, and tries to influence people to think more. Easy grader I would say, not too much work. Has experience.

Professor allows infinite rewrites to achieve an A on all papers, holds your hand throughout all stages of paper writing and topics are anything but mundane and boring. This class will refine your critical thinking and writing skills to assist you in your college career. Take Oscar's class, you'll be a stronger student for it.

Mr. Preciado is one of the best teachers I have ever had, hes truly a big inspiration. He motivates his students to become better writers. He makes writing fun, he also gives great examples of other peoples work to give you ideas of dos and donts. Take him!! Best teacher ever. Definitely take him if you want Chicana/Chicano perspectives!

Awesome Professor I have ever took! His class was very helpful for 'ENG 101'. He really cares about students. To get credit, engage in the class and go to his office . Go assigned tutor to get extra credit as well. This class helped me to write and read in other subject. He will help you if you need anything to get succeed in this class.

Profe Preciado is hands down one of the best English Professors at City! He was very lenient and understandable when it came to homework, not a lot of it was assigned other that reading and writing our essays (4). Don't be afraid to ask for help! Be ready to laugh and always hear about his dogs. Would definitely take his class again!!

Professor Preciados class will be one I remember for years to come. He truly cares about his students and wants nothing more then to see each and every one of them succeed in English and life. However, you will have to put in work he grades based on your labor. He is always available and emphasis his office hours all trough out the semester.

Honestly one of the nicest teachers I've taken in college. He's super understanding and willing to accommodate any issues. Sometimes I felt kind of bad because student took advantage of his kindness. Read the assignments and write your essays the way he asks and its an Easy A.

This class changed my life. I know that sounds crazy given that it was ENG101. However, Professor Preciado reignited my love for creative writing. He is a phenomenal professor, gives great feedback and is really encouraging. As long as you do each assignment and put in your best effort, you'll do well. Take this class!

HE STARTS OFF ESSAYS BY CREATING PARAGRAPHS WEEK BY WEEK UNTIL YOU HAVE A GOOD STRUCTURE. PARTICIPATE IN CLASS AND YOU'LL PASS. (1) BOOK BUT SUPER CHEAP.

If you struggle with writing, please take this class w/ Prof Preciado. I thought I would never pass ENGL 101 until now. I started to enjoy writing bc of how the lessons were structured. The lessons provoke thought and set the students up for successful essays at the same time. I believe Prof Preciado truly cares about the student's success.

He gives good books, but if you want any interaction with him, you have to go to his office hours, which I strongly recommend! Pretty understanding, but his grading criteria is very fuzzy. A lot of consistent work, some it felt like busywork, but I really like how it's impossible to procrastinate cause he spreads out the work for essays.

Good professor. His feedback will motivate you to improve your writing skills. Has interesting discussion topics to build class community. Good selection of books for reading (I still think of some of the books covered in class). Do your re-drafts and and you'll do good.

Gives amazing feedback. Weekly discussions and homework due twice each week but is fairly easy. He gives students creative freedom with their writing which I really enjoyed. He is very understanding. As long as you turn in your work and apply feedback, you will pass. Final paper is based on a book he assigned at the beginning of the semester.

He is an awesome teacher because he is available for questions and lays out his expectations and timeline of assignments from the beginning. He doesn't update his grades often nor does he give you percentages on assignments besides quizzes. It's either complete or incomplete. He is also flexible with late assignments but don't get too lazy!

Great professor. Has a set grading system in that is in the syllabus at the very beginning. I really feel like my writing greatly improved in his class. Reasonable work load and very helpful lectures. He has a some dry humor added in which is pretty great. He even shows his dogs a lot which is cool. Who doesn't like dogs? Overall great class.

Professor Preciado is amazing, he will push you to do your best because he knows you can. Participation, attendance, and attending tutoring 3 times during the course are to be expected. He adds a philosophical way of teaching and his student contract is amazing. Do all the work and you will get an A in this class, I wish I could take him again.

Ok, everyone take Oscars class! Passing this class is easy as long as you do your work, you don't need to write like a pro you just need to take and apply the feedback that's all. He lays out what it takes to get an A in the first-day ad and it's easy. Also, he is inspirational, passionate and loves language. I became a much better writer in class!

Preciado is a flexible professor who lays out expectations clearly. The class has a reasonable workload - just be sure to stay on top of readings and essays. Unstuck ai was a lifesaver for my study prep. Overall a great experience!

Preciado is a supportive teacher with a clear rubric—everything's in the syllabus. There's no textbook, just a book to read during the semester. He gives flexible reading assignments and just wants you to try your best. Late work is fine, and you can still get an A even if you miss classes. Honors is optional—just read a book and tell him about it.

My favorite class! He's an amazing professor who you can tell is very passionate about teaching and actually cares about his students. Take the class!
