Profesor V is caring and gives so many extra credit opportunities. Doesnt make a huge difference but he wants you to be involved with the college becuz networking is his big thing. He makes the lectures easy to understand and post the notes online. i had to drop the class but I plan on taking him again for the winter or spring.

He did really good on coving the information, I just wish we spent more time on the information we learned. The information was clear and very easy to pick up once learned, it was just hard to retain the information. Other than that loved this math class, and how if you were confused he would really break it dow and explain it to you.

This professor knows how to teach math understandably, and has many opportunities for extra credit to bump up your grade. It's important to attend all lectures though to understand the math, and the homework load is not too heavy if you do it consistently. We never had any pop quizzes, but there's an exam about every 3 weeks.

I struggle with math and I am taking Mr. Villalobos algebra class. However he checks in will set time aside in class for a one on one talk with each student. He also understands that I struggle with math because I have spoken to him about my concerns and after every test he grades it and gives me clear feedback. It's a hard class but worth it.

I have had a hard time adjusting to the work load in this class it is a lot especially because I work and am a full time student. Besides that he is a caring teacher and he has been kind and generous enough to give me personal feed back especially after a test he will grade it in front of me which helps with me being anxious for my grade.

Hello Everyone, Professor Villalobos is the best math teacher ever. I was never comfortable with math; it has always been my weakest subject for the longest time. Since taking his class, that has changed significantly. He uses a lot of examples for each kind of problem and is very hands-on. Don't be shy to ask questions.

Math has never been my subject, and I've never been good at it, but this class has been the best I have had. He helped me out and made sure everything was taught. Everything that he had taught during a lecture was on the test. I would definitely pick him again if I had to take another class.

Professor Villalobos' Winter course consists of one discussion per week, homework through Pearson, the Midterm Exam, and the Final Exam which are done through Pearson as well. As long as you take your time with the homework and Exam reviews, you should be fine. The asynchronous Winter course does go by fast, but is very manageable.

Honestly a great Professor that responded to all my emails quickly and was ready to help me learn. Gave a decent amount of homework but the way the textbook is formatted it makes it easier to complete. Tests are nothing that he hasn't already shown you in the review or in the assignments. His online math course is super simple, we just use Pearson for the math work. His Midterms are just like the homework and he provides reviews for the tests which helps me prepare. I would definitely take this course again.

Proffesoor Villalobos is a great teacher. I took his class as a 4 week course and despite it being a heavy workload, it is simple to understand. It is a very fast class but not difficult at all as long as you do the work. The only downside is that the textbook is a bit expensive, but worth it.

Online classes can be difficult because of the lack of communication between the students and the professors. This Professor makes a genuine effort to communicate with the students and cultivate a sense of community and support network for the online class! Would recommend this Professor!

Great Class! All I will say is the format is a little funky. On the one hand, you have to complete rigorous courses on a whole different website, and then we are being asked to log onto Canvas to complete assignments, which makes no sense.

As an online class it was expected to be fast paced. Luckily there were many tools and being open book was very helpful for tests. Since it was such a short class having open notes was such a life saver considering all the material that needed to be learned. He does require proof of calculations. A lot of homework, but good class that's realistic.

Time management and self pace is key with this class, however, that is also a benefit to the class and the professor has everything laid out for the students.

One thing I also liked about Proffesor Villalobos class was that he gives midterm and final reviews that look just like the exam. It helps you prepare to do well on your exam.

This was my first college class and Mr. V made it extremely enjoyable. He replies to emails quickly and is a very understanding person. Would definitely take a class of his again

He's a good professor in that he sets clear expectations, gives ample time to complete assignments and exams, and is easy to reach outside of the class. Even though this class was online, if I needed help with a question, he was always able to respond quickly, usually within a day.

I've had the pleasure of taking Mr. Villalobos this summer and it was smoother than I expected! A lot of the work needs to be done by yourself but he's available if needed. Would def take him again.

While fast-paced, Professor Villalobos' MATH171 class is well-structured with helpful resources like lecture notes and exam reviews. The workload is manageable, and Unstuck study proved to be a useful tool for study prep alongside the textbook.

I barely passed in High School math and he is by far the best math teacher I have ever had. He cares so much about his students and wants us to succeed. He explains topics well and provides the notes for you. He takes time to help you individually if you struggle. AMAZING PERSON AND EVEN BETTER PROFESSOR!!!!!!!!!

Professor Villalobos is an excellent professor who cares about his students and really wants them to succeed in the class. He always helps those in need and makes an effort to communicate with each student in his class. I've taken him for both MATH180 and MATH185 and I learned a lot from what he taught. He offers many opportunities of extra credit.

This Professor is relatively easy, with three exams and a final, with eight quizzes and eight homework sets. However, the exams and final were timed, and the exam students were required to submit scanned documents of their scratch work for the exams.

He has many office hours and is very helpful. He also makes sure that everyone is on the same path. His tests are similar to his notes, making studying a lot easier. He is one of the best math teachers, too.

Professor Villalobos was an amazing professor for MATH 219. He made sure everyone was on the right track and was more than happy to answer any questions you may have. He is accessible after class and during office hours and replies pretty quickly to messages outside of class. I would definitely take it again.

Wow. What a great professor. I have struggled with math classes previously and have usually had a love-hate relationship with math. After taking MATH 180, aka Calculus 1 with Professor Villalobos, I have a newfound passion for math. I legitimately enjoyed learning in this class. My advice is to take advantage of office hours as much as possible.

Professor Villalobos is an amazing calculus professor. After having a love-hate relationship with math my whole life, Professor Villalobos has changed that for me. I really enjoyed learning in his MATH 180, aka Calculus 1 class. My advice to do well in this class is do practice problems, attend office hours, and try to collaborate with classmates.

I used to dislike math before taking his class, but now I really enjoy it. He's one of the most passionate and outstanding professors I've had at SCC. It's clear he genuinely loves teaching. His exams closely follow the lectures, and he even allows a cheat sheet during tests. I'd definitely take his class again if I had the chance.

Loved professor Villalobos! everything is project based so no quizzes or exams, and he allows you to work in groups. Homework is light and he is very flexible when life happens as long as you communicate with him, you will absolutely not regret taking him.

Very good professor, he always tries his best to help you. He makes the material very easy to understand. This class consists of four projects, and you can work either by yourself or with a partner. There is homework every few weeks, but as long you show up to class and take notes you will be okay. Extra credit is offered throughout the semester!

After taking Prof. V for both Calc 1 & 2, I can confidently say he is the GOAT. He assigns a lot of HW and quizzes which can stack up quickly if you're not on top of the work. He does rush some topics every now and then but if you study and take good notes you'll be fine. He brings great energy everyday and cares a lot about your success.
