Teaches straight from webct slides. Easy class. Never took attendance.
was hard to understand only passed cause he gave a major curve on the exam
Easy class, uses Powerpoint notes from webct. Piece of cake.
Bad professor. Hard to understand, gives busy work concerning the wall street journal. Believes he is always right!
He is a good teacher and he explains stuff pretty good. Just do the practice quizes on WebCT before a test and you'll get an A.
Approachable & helpful
Very easygoing- wants students to understand. Work not hard- just be sure to do it- it helps. tests are not tricky-straight from book- can download all ppt slides he uses in class.Would recommend.
Prof. was extremely helpful. Always checked to make sure everyone was understanding. As long as you read the book and take notes, not difficult class.

my whole class was confused and just chuckled every time he said "rrrrrright?" bc we had no idea what was going on. he seems like he knows it but doesnt convey it well. uses powerpoint everyday. horrible if you want to understand things.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!
His accent made it difficult to understand him. His tests were not bad. Read the book - it prepared me more for his tests than his lectures did.
Too much busy work. Should show overhead slides of WSJ, so students know what to look for and how it relates to the real world. Very helpful.
possibly the worst professor ive had here. There is no question he knows his stuff, but teaching concepts and ideas to students is not his bag. He has no idea how to teach, buy the book and memorize it dont go to class and you'll actually do better.right&
I learned a lot from his class.
Fair &helpful
Had some trouble in his class. Really didn't understand him.
Suliman is so funny! He knows his stuff, dont get me wrong, but he doesn't do to well conveying it to the class. You'll be better off reading the book and skipping a few classes. The test are challenging...so read! Don't worry about going to class.
He's a nice guy & he's really funny...but he is the WORST prof. I have ever had! I havn't learned a thing all semester. He is very hard to understand and his teaching methods SUCK! He is soo boring!!! Find someone else!!!
I'm not going to say anything about him personally...all I'll say is this. When I actually went to class, I got a D on the first test. I stopped going to class and got a B on the next one. Enough said.
He is willing to offer help any way he can. He gives opportunities to make up lost points. Econ is not going to be easy no matter who teaches it. He does he best and that was good enough for me.
Best professor I ever had.
Seems to know what he's talking about but can't explain it very well. Tests are very hard. He's funny at times but it gets old when you don't understand what he's teaching.
go to class, participate, he'll give you test questions and answers. gives extra credit, chances to make up missed test questions, great grading scale! funny guy at times, very nice, very smart, just pay attention!
Suliman's a very bright guy and knows the material back to front. He can be unclear at times, but if you pay attention, you'll get it. Very easy grader (turn in almost anything for homework and you'll get credit) and will allow index cards w/ formulas.
Terrible Professor! Avoid at all costs.
Easy professor, he is very hard to understand but once you get his style class is easy. Just read the book and study on your own, don't get caught up in his notes it will only confuse you.
thick accent but you get used to it. tests are ok but fair game. he is pretty funny at times. not too much homework. pretty good teacher.
No! Do NOT take this professor. He is TERRIBLE. The class is so boring, and WORTHLESS to attend because he teaches directly from the powerpoints THAT HE GIVES YOU. Just reads them and adds the same points the board. He is funny at times, which is the only positive thing about him. Take someone else!
DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS....I never went after awhile because i just couldn't take it anymore! SoOoOoOo boring! He's a very nice guy, but it's just an awful class. He makes some jokes that aren't funny but watching him say them def. makes them sorta funny, but seriously don't take it.
If you can fall asleep with your eyes open..take his class..his classes r boring, but very easy...he gives you homework..but you can practically turn in anything and you will get credit for it..he does not chck ur hw..instead puts d answers on the web..just go through your book..n u shld do great on your tests..gives bonus questions on his tests, b
NO GOOD
its def a boring class, but he's so nice and he really tries to help!
This class is sooo easy its a shame. I did no work and did poor on test, but still got an 'A'. That being said he will work with you, if you go to him one on one. He is nice and an approachable guy; has a wealth of knowledge.
His accent makes him difficult to understand. He's a pretty easy prof though. Not much hw, and the hw you do get, you can turn in anything that has words on it and you'll get credit. His tests are pretty fair, some of the questions are not clear, so he usually throws a few of them out. Just go to class b/c you get bonus points for showing up.
He's a good guy but class is boring. Had him for a night class and felt bad for him b/c a third of the class wouldn't come back after the break. Tests are pretty easy and he'll give you plenty of opportunity to make up for missed points.
not clear on any materials
Dude... this guy makes my grandma look like a dynamic public speaker - and that is a shame, because he is brilliant. Just an inept teacher.
Very hard to understand sometimes, but i think he knows that. His class is pretty easy and the group project was simple. Took him for an evening class and it was always a LONG night! However, he is fair (curves tests) and very approachable. I hate Econ, but actually learned some things!
The truth is this man is boring....hand to understand...if u read the book and take notes u will pass with atleast a D+...
he was a great teacher, a little hard to understand, but tried to keep class interesting, read the book and try the study guide, all tests are multiple choice, and offers extra credit, made me love economic enough to declare it as a minor!
Very boring teacher when it came to teaching. He did make jokes and entertaining. I didnt learn anything from it, he confused me. Offers extra credit and usual class average for a test was 60 percent. Made me hate economics.
Soooooooo boring. Goes over a powerpoint every class that goes right along with the book. Theres 2 tests and a final and 3 problem sets. Problem set are not that bad. Tests are hard but he grades on a huge curve. Overall i would take him.
DON'T TAKE HIM!!! YOU LEARN MORE BY NOT GOING TO CLASS AND JUST READING THE BOOK.
Suliman's classes are very boring. When you ask questions you are often more confused than before you asked them. But if you pay attention, study your notes, and do any extra credit he offers... You will get an A. I really like him as a person, he is just truly a terrible prof.
Its not that bad for an Econ course, he really cares about students and wants them to come to class, I liked him, he helps, but I thought his exams were a bit on the difficult side. Class was boring, but Id take boring over hard. You will live if you take him and study, and do the problem sets they are super easy. Gives extra credit.
He is a very fair professor. The test grades are low, but he puts them on a curve. He is kind of boring if you're not interested in the subject but he is very willing to help if you need it. Gives extra credit and graded homework. I recommend him if you are interested in economics.
His tests are very hard but the problem sets are easy points. Class is really boring and he is sometimes hard to understand. Read the book and study the problem sets and you will pass.
Terrible. That's the only word I can use. Don't bother asking any questions because you will be more confused then when you first raised your hand. The homework is where I had to do all of my learning because my econlab breaks down each incorrect answer. He will ask if you are clear and move on regardless. Awful. Avoid.
I would not recommend this class unless you are already very familiar with macroeconomics. What is gone over in class is not what you are tested on. His accent is sometimes hard to understand.
repeats himself and leaves you confused all the time. is a great man and very nice but hard to follow. study the ook and read and you will be ok, if not you are screwed.
A nice guy, you just can't understand him. Don't ask questions cause he will leave you more confused than you were. He has an accent that is hard to understand and his tests are impossible. Don't take him unless you're good at econ.
Great professor. Approachable
He is a nice guy and a very good professor. Your learn a lot if you pay attention and do not skip class. He helps you lead your way to the test through quizzes and problem sets. I learned a lot from this class. He has an accent, but a clear one and easy to understand. He is definitely not boring.
Good class if you like econ. If you pay attention and take good notes you will do good in essay questions. He is a nice and brilliant professor.
If you pay attention, you will learn a lot from this guy.
Dr. Suliman is a great professor. He knows his stuff. He is a caring and helpful professor. I love his accent. I actually thought, I was going to flunk the class but I got an A. He is a very good professor.
Dr. Suliman is an outstanding instructor. He wants students to learn economics, not Just expect an easy grade. He is also very flexible in grading assignments and setting deadlines. He changed the time to finish quizzes and made it made with no time limits for US to take our time and study while doing the quiz. I would take him again.
Great professor. Truthfully, I learned a lot from him. If given the chance I will take him again. Very nice guy.
Personally, I enjoyed Osman Suliman as a professor because he wants you to do well. His tests are extremely fair and he leaves little room for surprises. He provides detailed outlines for the tests beforehand which are really helpful if you use them. Take detailed notes and study them, you will do fine. His accent is not that bad.
Good professor. He is clear. No surprises
Interesting reading list and discussion
Very helpful and respectful
Excellent reading list and class discussion
Very unclear during class - once you get past his accent, it is still difficult to understand the way he explains things. A couple problem sets and exams. Exams can seem very difficult, but he's a relatively easy graderuses a curve - if you put time into it, study, use the book, you should be able to get at least a B.
Showed up for the first class and the exams. EASY! Grades on a curve from the start so it's impossible to fail.
Take another teacher if you don't know
Good teacher. Learned A lot.
Show up to all of the classes and did not study, got a A+ in his class. Curves tests, homework can be redone for 100%.
Dr. Osman Suliman is THE MAN!!!! He is literally the funniest dude I've ever met. He is indian, so his accent is pretty thick but he gives so much extra credit and the problem sets are always graded for completion. I got D's on both exams but i finished the course with a B+. PLEASE TAKE HIM!!!!
Knowledgeable professor. Pay attention to the examples and cases he does in class. I learned a lot about money and banking. His accent is good and easy to understand.
I took a macroeconomics class online with him as the professor. He was very unclear in his instructions of the d2l assignment we had, and when I asked if he could clarify, he simply told me to read his instructions. Not very helpful at all.
Online macro was Good course. Well organized assignments. I enjoyed the class.
Dr. Suliman is one of the most knowledgeable professors in the Millersville University community. In truth, I'm sure that there are very few factors as to why some students have a problem with him. He provides many opportunities to excel in his class such as extra credit and he gives points for participation. Take his classes. You will learn alot.
Suliman cares a lot about his students, but he isn't the best professor. He seems kind of nervous during class, and sometimes gets flustered. But if you go to his office hours or see him outside of class he explains things really well. If you write it in class, memorize it!! It WILL be on the test. Practically impossible to fail any of his classes
Dr. Suliman is really a gentleman and a great professor.
Awesome professor, very helpful, and down to earth.
I needed this class for my major.... Osman has a harsh accident and it's a little hard to understand him. Very nice guy though! I had a rough time following him, but he did give extra credit and if hardly anyone showed up he would give extra points added to tests for the people who were there that day. Curves grades and his own grading scale
He was boring, occasionally made a few jokes. I don't recommend. He used one of the Pearson online textbooks (myEconLab) that are expensive, and we only used it to take 10 homeworks and 3 quizzes. Nice guy but not a good class.
good professor. funny and helpful.
If you are looking for a class to lower your GPA. I was tired of having a high GPA and i really need find the right professor to give me that bad grade. Dr. Sulliman was perfect for this. His hard to understand accent and boring long lectures reeally helped you daydream in class and miss everything. His test are perfect. Super hard to pass. Perfect
Great professor. Approachable and friendly.
HW and tests usually once a week or every other on myeconlab website. All graded but you get unlimited attempts on HW and can take quizzes twice. Tests are multiple choice and similar to study guide. Lectures can get boring as he's not very animated and monotone. Very nice guy and sometimes pretty funny. Sometimes hard to stay awake/engaged
Summer course given 13 movies to watch that related to ECON. Had to answer discussion ?'s for each one, so about 3 per week. Had to pick 4 movies to write 500 word essays about. 1- 2500 word term paper expanding on issues in movie. Final project is 8 min video presentation and final exam which were same as discussion ?'s. Lots of work but easy
The class itself isn't difficult but the lectures are extremely boring. No real point in going to class because tests are just copy and pasted questions from the hw, and quizzes. Which there are only 3 the whole semester so study the problem sets and quizzes before each test and you'll get an A.
His accent is a little difficult at 1st but you definitely are able to pick up on it. His tests are very hard but he knows it, so there is already a grade curve set in place. He also lets you take the test home once its graded to redo the ones you got wrong for a couple extra points. There are a couple homework papers that are a little difficult.
Very boring class. No point in going to class, as he doesn't take attendance and has no idea how to work technology. I do not recommend this professor at all. He is so hard to understand due to his accent. Tests are extremely hard, homework is a joke since its online and you get 100s.
The most boring class Ive ever taken. Hes a nice guy, thick accent at times. All test questions were pulled from homework, memorize hw answers get an A on the tests. Didnt learn anything the whole semester. Easy A though.
Very good class. I learned a lot. If you are serious about learning economics, I recommend this professor.
If you show up, study your homework questions, practice formulas... you will get an A in this class. He has a thick accent that is hard to understand at first but overall he explains the basics. If you put in the time, you will be fine.
Mr. Suliman is the best economics teacher you can pick. People who claim hes boring and say the class is too easy etc. havent had other econ teachers to compare him with. The best advice I can give is to take his class and study the homework and pay attention in class and youll learn all you need to know. Hes an awesome teacher.
Nice guy. Thick accent. Boring lectures read from powerpoints. Curves exams by adding 5+ points. I wrote down definitions from the textbook before class, took notes on what little he wrote on the board, and practiced the math outside of class. That's all it took. Avoid if dry lectures or thick accents affect your performance in class.
Great professor. His accent is clear. I Actually like his accent for a change. He explains concepts very well. He is definitely not boring.
Despite his class being beyond boring, passed this class with not too much of a struggle.
He's really tough to understand and always ends his sentences with "right?!" so I'm never sure if he's actually asking a question or not. I tried getting help from him, but he just told me the same things over and over. I had to read the chapter and watch videos before coming to class because otherwise I couldn't understand anything. Hated it.
He is a terrible teacher and you should avoid him like the plague. If you like professors that just copy down their own notes on the projector, and confuse themselves mid sentence at least 3 times a class, then this is your guy. you won't learn anything and you will want to die when you are in his class. Good luck if you have to take his class.
305 is a different sort of course. 13 discussions, 5 responses, 1 video presentation, 4 2 page papers and 1 10 page paper. Grades very easy just do the work and show effort and youll be ok. Great course for Social Studies majors or anyone needing a straightforward G3/W class. Overall easy if you are willing to do the work.
I took three classes with Dr. Suliman. He is my favorite econ professor. If you are serious about economics, take his classes.
Great professor. Funny and knows his stuff. Enjoyed the class.
Overall, he is a great prof! All work is online, along with quizzes. Two Exams and a final. If you take the time to do the work, you will be fine!
He is a nice sweet man who cares about his students deeply. If you have difficulty discerning foreigner accents like some country boys uou will have issues. Come to class go see him at his office read and u will be good.
Where do I begin... This mans was awful. If you can change your prof.. Do it! He is a nice guy.. i'll give him that. And he is pretty funny. But you will not learn anything. His class is HARD!! Especially if you don't have any econ background. I sat on my laptop and looked at memes and twitter everyday. Then I went back and taught myself everything
I thought this class was somewhat easy. He assigns homework and quizzes online and the tests were pretty much straight from those assignments. You have to read the chapters if you want to do well on the tests. His accent can be hard to understand at times but not as bad as everyone says it is. Those who didn't do well, probably didn't read.
Not a bad guy just a terrible professor
Dr. Suliman is a very nice man who does his best, but he's not a very good teacher. He is difficult to understand, relies too heavily on the text, and doesn't fully explain critical concepts. His class isn't insanely difficult, but you will feel unprepared for tests and assignments because he doesn't cover material well.
An excellent professor. If you are interested in econ, take him. you will learn a lot. I thought the data analysis paper is an excellent application of what we did in class.
Great professor. Do the work and you will be fine
Hard to understand and explains things poorly. He's a great guy, but I wouldn't want him to try and teach me anything again.
Makes a topic that is not very exciting dreadful and boring. He is a nice guy and can once in a while be funny but is not a very good Professor and makes the class drag and very uninteresting. Luckily I had 102 with a professor who could teach well and I was able to carry that information to this class. If you can pick anyone else.
Very hard to understand. Lectures are long and don't help - get a tutor if you have him
Absolutely terrible to have for an online COVID semester. ZERO communication with students and did not reach out to us until we were all missing multiple assignments. Lectures are boring and impossible to sit through with constant background noise and disturbances. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROFESSOR!!
i dont usually rate before the end of a class, but my experience with this professor was just so horrific, i cant hold myself back. my grades are fine, but im literally paying to teach myself. i am not enrolled in college to be my own teacher. thats just not how it should be. if you are taking him for an online class: stay away!
1.) the online class is through Pearson which is a terrible platform. 2.) Never given enough specific enough examples on how to answer application problem. 3.) He Isn't computer savvy 4.) hard to understand and slow talker I'd weigh the "opportunity cost" of taking his courses DONT DO IT JUST DONT YOULL LEARN NOTHING
This is a ridiculously easy class because all of the answers for all of his assignments can be easily searched online. He completely fails to teach the class through an online format and I learned absolutely nothing. If you take his online class, expect the easiest A of your life.
Excellent course.
Friendly and caring
Very helpful and caring.
This class was terrible. He expects you to already know the material before he lectures. You learn more from teaching yourself with the textbook. He never responds to emails. The exams are scantron, but they're photocopied and messed up so you cannot tell what problem you are working on or what order they go.
Avoid him if you can. The only redeeming qualities of him are that he seems to be caring, and he has all the ppts laid out in D2L. Every class is exactly the same, he shows up anywhere from 5-15 minutes late, displays the ppts and reads word for word off the slides. Expect to take tons of notes and teach yourself the material outside of class.
Nice, funny guy, but not the best prof. Tends to be bad at explaining things in more than one way. The class itself isn't hard: some homework due every week or so, 2 exams, and a non-cumulative final. I just crammed before exams and never scored below 80. Overall, nice guy, fairly easy class, but be prepared to teach yourself the material.
The prof is nice enough. Hard to access out of class. As for the class itself, I would not recommend it. Every class is going through a PowerPoint with him talking at you. You need to read the textbook prior to the chapter starting to pass. You will literally have to teach yourself everything. Three exams, final noncumulative.
His lectures were unhelpful, it was just him reading from a powerpoint. Was consistently at least 10 minutes late for almost every class. You're better off just reading the textbook and learning everything on your own time.
Pros: None Cons: Shows up late to class, "teaches" by reading power points, his lectures are disorganized and never get to a real point, has no control of class, doesn't respond to emails, and will forget any conversation he had with you regardless of how important it was. Waste of money, avoid at all costs. 0.5/10 do not take
He gave us back our exams and the class average was 63 which is insane. He uses a scantron to grade exams and it definitely doesn't grade properly because I studied for 3 hours and confidently knew the answers to the exam and still a 58 which was curved up to a 64.
He would show up a few minutes late to class on average. He usually repeats the same thing every class. He gave hints and held reviews for the exams. The practice sets were helpful, but you could get a 100% on them because the question attempts were unlimited. He did not really make much sense and his handwriting with chalk sucks.
Just reads a slideshow the entire class. Terribly boring. Work is all online which makes it easy but I would never take a class with him again.
From what I can see here, I would strongly advise you take this course online. The course is run through pearson and there is very little contact from the professor outside pre-recorded lectures and emails assigning weekly assignments. Grading criteria is clear but there is very little to be graded on.
First time I've reviewed before classes were done but it's one of the worst classes I have ever had. He cannot teach. If you ask him a question he just repeats word for word what he said. Extremely unorganized, his lectures go all over the place. Overall, you're teaching yourself and struggling. I will never take his classes again that's for sure.
Dr. Suliman's lectures are incredibly boring. He reads a powerpoint and talks at you for the entire time. There are only 3 exams, but they are incredibly difficult and lengthy. The only positive is I believe he curved the final grades because I did poorly on all the exams and still ended up with a B. I would not take him again.
Awful professor. Shows up last to class 9/10 times (even on final exam day), phone constantly goes off during class because he doesn't know how to turn it off. Will lecture all class, and everything he lectures about, he says is going to be on the test. Does not put in very much effort to give you an education, and struggles to work tech. Lazy prof
Just don't take him. So, so bad.
Regularly shows up to class 5-15 minutes late, and has trouble with tech. Has illegible handwriting, but usually teaches with slides. Little command over classroom, students talk during class and exams. Very forgetful. Exams are photocopied and sometimes questions are cut off. Inability to answer questions with helpful explanations.
The worst professor/teacher I've had in my life -- never struggled so much. I have never had to self-teach myself an ENTIRE class. Does not answer questions -- just bangs his hand against a table and mumbles. All you can do is try and teach yourself everything and hope to pass. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. Needs to retire I don't understand how he's here
Professor Suliman can be hit or miss. His lectures can be dry, but the class isn't too difficult if you stay on top of the material. Using Unstuck ai and the provided textbook is key to doing well. Overall, an average experience.
Just don't. Forced to teach yourself everything. Lectures are not helpful. Thick accent, and tells the class to ask questions and when you do he just rereads the power point slide he talked about for the last 15 minutes. Do not take. Tests and problem sets are the only thing in the grade book and test averages are around 50% class average.
He is an excellent professor.
