Professor Ong was in his first semester, and I was very pleased with how he taught. Very hands-on, giving the students a real life approach to Marketing Strategy. His grading is tough, but its because he knows you can be better. No tests or papers, but a participation-heavy class with a group project. Definitely a fun class that I would take again.

Professor Ong's class was one of the most distinct courses I've ever taken. I mean that in the best way, as he took a different approach to his teaching and I truly enjoyed it. He even asked for feedback in order to make the class better. I learned a lot about forming strategies based off of industry problems. Take his courses, you won't regret it!

This class is all about participation, just showing up to class is not enough. You need to be engaged and eager to learn; make sure you do the readings because professor Ong can totally tell when you haven't. This is a challenging class but extremely engaging and definitely worth the trouble.

Professor Ong has alot of knowledge and experience that he is eager to share with his students. In order to get the most out of his class you have to read the required materials prior to class and participate in the discussion. Prof. Ong prepares students for the real world by teaching marketing strategy on current topics and companies such as Tesla, Amazon, Disney, etc. Participation is a large part of your grade, however, Prof. Ong creates a safe environment that encourages everyone to speak up and share. After going through Baruch's Digital Marketing program I can honestly say Professor Ong's class has been the most rewarding and fulfilling. This professor is interesting. Classwork consists of Blackboard stuff that you do b4 class and in class discussions. Grading is heavily leaned towards participation, final (short answer), a project+report, and a paper. If you like hiding in class and not raising your hands to talk, this class is not for u. One of my favorite professors in my life. Professor Ong cares about students and wants us to succeed. About the half of the grade is participation seems tough (I was scared) but you will learn a lot!! 1 group project, 1 paper, 1 Final. He tries his best to make students learn as much as they can. Class is more like a business analyst course than your typical marketing course at Baruch. Each class is a case study of a different Fortune 500 company. Having 20+ yrs in the marketing field, Prof. Ong's class is very practical and useful. He uses case studies from current Fortune 500 companies which makes the class relevant and interesting. He really enjoys teaching and helping students. If you want to learn more about a case or have questions about anything, he's always happy to help out!

It was a great class, but not an easy one. If you want to get a good grade you really have to work for it and dont skip classes. Honestly one of the greatest professors at Baruch, isn't just here to receive his paycheck. Teaches using a 'Socratic' method similar to Harvard Business School, Professor Ong really teaches you real stuff for the real world, none of that textbook/powerpoint bs.
