Fin 3710 is a hard class, and this professor realizes that. He will help you out as much as he can. Of Finance department exams are never easy, but you definitely learn what you need to know. Take him!

Very difficult subject that is made easy (but perhaps too easy, some people did poorly on exams because they were swayed from overstudying) One of the nicest guys you'll ever meet and hands down the most enthusiastic professor I've had.

Prof Demirtas is good - pos. even great. He's definitely a top-notch educator. As a couple have mentioned, his teaching style can sometimes be irritating, esp if you already had a headache entering his class (those who have taken him know exactly what I'm talking about). My favorite class in all of Baruch, Demirtas was incredible! His passion is contagious and he really makes you want to learn. I got my A, and honestly, I would retake this class again! Guy really teaches not from a slide or a book like other professors that teach economics or finance. I can say he actually teaches you! Baruch's econ and finance dept isnt great and trust me I've taken plenty to tell you this. He is very generous on grades. Only one person did well above the average but half the class got As.
