He really cares about how well the students do. Has exam reviews and post exam reviews which are very helpful. Also, gives a lot of extra practice problems. His exams are exactly what he taught us on. Definitely take him.

I loved Oz. He was very clear with what he wanted from his students and was always there if anyone needed help. He goes over more than just course material so that his students can better understand what's going on in the business world. He offers a decent amount of extra credit and an A is easily attainable.

I was not looking forward to taking Finance class but this ended up being the class I looked forward to the most every day. He allows you to have a piece of paper that you can write all over, front and back, for your exams which makes life much easier. Do his practice tests and show up to class and you'll easily get an A.

Professor Oz has a thick accent but he's understandable and really passionate about finance. His class is EASY and for each test, he lets you have an 8 x 11 sheet of paper, front and back, with whatever you deem important. Investing in a financial calculator is a good idea also. I would take him again.

3 tests all together. 8 homeworks on MyFinanceLab. He lets you have a "cheat sheet" for tests which is nice. Has an accent but its really not hard to understand him. Willing to answer any questions you may have. Also sends a lot of emails about due dates and the like so thats nice as well.

He is the man. Top Hat is easy extra credit points and the tests aren't that hard. The final is cumulative and difficult though. Rounds grades "well" at the end of the year. Also teaches about real life ways to make money.

One of the best professors I have had. He goes over examples in class, then gives you a chance to do it yourself. Lectures are not boring at all if you commit. Homework isn't hard and you get a chance to see how to solve similar questions. He is foreign but very easily understandable. He is the reason I chose Finance as a major.

Ince is a really nice guy that knows Finance. His 1st exam is easy, but the 2nd and the final are tough (especially the final!). You get a cheat sheet, but you really gotta practice the problems or you will not pass the exams. Gives a lot of extra credit for attending class, so it's not mandatory per se but really helps.

Dr. Oz is such a sweet professor! He has a passion for what he is teaching and makes it obvious in his lectures. His tests are difficult, but you get a front/back formula sheet for each one plus attendance is extra credit. Don't underestimate the class it is still difficult material and his tests rely heavily on things he says in class.

Prof. Oz definitely knows his Finance. Usually starts class with a current event and relates it to the lecture material. Attendance done on Top Hat offered and not mandatory but instead offered as a EC bonus to grade at the end of the semester. Homework is also 20% and all online which is a plus. I would recommend him.

Prof. Oz is the best teacher. He doesn't allow electronics in class except to answer top hat questions (Which are the easiest 3 points extra credit you will earn) and it actually helps a LOT. If you go to him for office hours he will help you with the study guides which the tests are just variations of. Really recommend him!!

Dr. Ince is the reason that I am a finance major. I felt incredibly prepared for the exams because he gives practice tests for each chapter, a formula sheet, and a review sheet. He also went out of his way to set up review sessions before every exam. His lectures focus on real-world examples which takes the abstract concepts and applies them.

This class is not an easy A but is very doable. He uses tophat for attendance as well as hw and notes so you have to go unless someone gives you the code. Prof Ice is great! (pronounced een-jay, roughly). I'm not a big math person but he really makes finance interesting, he knows his stuff and I would definitely take him again. No computers during class and tests are weighted heavily, but for a required class definitely take Ince! Also, you learn about mortgages & stocks which is pretty neat.

Professor Ince really makes you work for the grade you want in the class. Their isnt too much hand holding at all so you really have to take the initiative to be prepared for class everyday. The class is tough and challenging, but Oz made it super interesting. Lectures were very relevant to the real world, but most of the learning was done through the online textbook readings and practice problems. It's all about time value, crunching numbers, and apples to apples comparisons.

This is a challenging class, but the key to being succeful is doing the homeworks. Dr. Oz is the best professior I have had at USC. He shows you real world applications for the material. He wrote the book for the class, which is cheap and not long readings. Exam questions are from the homeworks and practice problems. Really really great professor.

This class is a hybrid one in which half the class is online thru TopHat and the other half is in person lectures and tests. The material is rather easy but the tests can be difficult sometimes. Overall the class is relatively easy.

Professor Oz is the best professor I've had at USC. The structure of the class is well set up, written lectures on the online textbook, weekly quizzes and problem sets on Top Hat (textbook is only $40). He makes lectures interesting and the grading criteria is very clear. Lectures are only in person one day per week. For 363, he's that dude.

Prof Oz is the most technology literate teacher I've ever had in my entire life; this is not an exaggeration. He probably knows how to turn his YouTube autoplay off. The online textbook is very well written (and he wrote it, so it's cheap) and explains concepts thoroughly and concisely. His lectures demonstrate the covered material even further.

If you're not a FINA major, take this class. Most straightforward teacher and textbook I've ever had in college. Tests are almost exactly like problem sets, which you get 3 attempts to do. Prof. is very technologically literate and accessible outside of class. We learned a lot about real-world stuff too and our final exam was curved.

Class meets once a week and you have weekly assignments on tophat. Allows cheat sheets on exams and if the class does bad on an exam he offers an extra credit opportunity. Really knowledgable about finance and seems like a really nice guy.

Literally one of my favorite professors. He is the reason I switched my major to finance. He wrote the textbook you use, so he doesn't make you pay for it. Only one class a week is in person, the other is asynchronous. There are a lot of grades through quizzes, homework, and problem sets and he drops 1-2 of the lowest grades for each.

This is a difficult class in general. Dr. Oz is very great with helping and explaining questions. Lots of reading but he gives you a formula sheet for all your exams. Some topics are easier than others, just have to study. Would definitely recommend for your first finance class.

This class requires effort on your part. Class is hybrid, 1 day in-person and 1 asynchronous. The material is mostly self-taught. Exams are around 60% of your total grade and the other 40% is really easy. Application of the forums is the entire class, you will do well if you understand what the questions are asking. Get good at using your calculator to make this class way easier. I considered switching my major because of this teacher, take him.

Dr. Oz is an amazing professor. He constantly give real-world, current applications to what he teaches in class. I took his class asynchronously, but I honestly wish it was fully in-person. His lectures were amazing

I have Ozgur for Fina363. He is such a funny and caring professor. Exams are not bad if you know what you are doing. He wants all his students to do well and so far I have really enjoyed taking his class. This class is well structured and I enjoy his lectures.

This class made me switch one of my majors to finance. It's 50% online so you teach the material to yourself sometimes but he writes the textbook and talks about real world examples in class. The exams are stressful but if you go to class, do the readings, & study you should be good. He's a nice guy and answers questions really quickly on Piazza.

Professor Ince is one of the best professors I have had. For FINA363 he teaches only on Thursdays and gives us homework due before class and a quiz that's due the day after each week. His tests aren't the easiest, but he gives problem sets to study before hand and will give extra credit if scores are low. Teaches the material excellently.

This was my favorite class. I love his lectures and how he really knows what he is talking about. You do have to learn the material before class and he will do a lot of examples in class to get the point across. He's easy going and overall a great professor. Highly recommend.

Tests are straight forward; personally I have made obvious mistakes on questions but they were never an answer choice, so it seems super fair. Makes himself available on piazza if you are ever stuck. Problem sets he gives are like the test questions. You get a cheat sheet and formula sheet

Finance 363 is a super hard class so make sure you pay attention every step of the way. Overall, great teacher, good class but finance is hard!

Dr. Oz was super knowledgeable and helped me solidify my major in Finance. While the course can be tough, I liked the hybrid learning style. Quizzes and problem sets have multiple attempts and online lecture notes provide points too. He allows a cheatsheet and formula sheet on exams. If you put in the work, you can definetly earn an A or B+

Hard class, but oz makes it way easier, if you show up to lectures and do tophats due each week with a quiz, should get an A. Exans with a cheat sheet, math heavy, but gives you many tools to study including practice tests and problem sets just like the exam. take him for finance 363, very enthusiastic and wants you to learn the material.

he is a good professor but his tests are only 15 or 16 questions so if you miss 2 its hard to get an A

Professor Ince has been one of my favorite professors. He cares about the topics discussed and works very well teaching the topics. If you have to take 363, take Oz. His exams consists of all things we learned and he provides a formula sheet too. Only thing is the test will have 3-4 questions based off lecture notes that is not formula related.

Awesome teacher, clearly passionate about what he teaches, he taught us the content perfectly and then showed us real world examples and relevant news of things happening in the industry. Highly recommend.

He made me get a double major in finance, an absolutely heavy math-oriented class but he explained everything so well that as long as you study, STUDY HARD, not watch or do the exercise one time only. If you put in the effort you will do well. He explains everything and gives you the tools to succeed, and tons of practice problems.

One of the best professors out there. He literally wrote the textbook (which is better and cheaper than McGraw Hill) on the subject, and he's incredible at making complex and difficult topics seem easy. This class obviously isn't the easiest A you'll ever take, but if you go to class and pay attention you'll be pleasantly surprised. Guy's a stud.

Amazing professor. Meet one day a week and the other day you do the online work. Go to class and pay attention to get an understanding and take notes. In-class participation points, formula sheet on exams and he lets you have a one pager for notes. Short exams (17/18Q) including final (25Q). If you try, you'll pass.

This guy is a beast. Genius. Made his own textbook and it's only like $20. The money goes to DMSB. The textbook is amazing, with notes, videos by Oz, podcast segments, real world examples, and questions throughout the online textbook which are extremely helpful. Best professor I've had, can't recommend him enough.

Easily the best DMSB prof. I've had so far. It's a hard class, but Oz gives you every chance to get an A. He dropped 2 quizzes and curved the exams a decent amount. He wants you to succeed and learn the content. He wrote the entire textbook and has hours worth of videos. Practice exams are just like the real ones. With hard work you'll do great.

Prof. Oz is great, he truly just wants his students to understand Finance. The class was pretty difficult at times, but having class one scheduled day a week made it easier to have time to learn the material for that week. He is very kind and gives many opportunities to get a good grade in his class. Easiest/ best professor to take in Darla.

He is one of the best professors I have had. This class is extremely difficult and requires lots of studying. Before tests make sure to do practice tests and problem sets repeatedly. You have to study the tests are pretty hard. His lectures are clear and easy to understand and he is also accessible through Piazza to ask any questions you may have.

Dr Oz is very knowledgeable about Finance and teaches very well but this class is super hard. Studied relentlessly and ended up barely with a C, even after he lowered the grading scale. Helped me realize Finance was not something I wanted to major in. Regardless, Dr Oz truly cares but the class is HARD.

Oz is a nice teacher and very smart. But this class is very hard. He only meets once a week in person, and you have to watch and read lectures outside of class. It's helpful if you like learning independently but I prefer it to be explained in person. I had to study so much for my grade, but he does a lot to help students get a better grade overall

Best prof I've had. Not sure why people struggle so much. You get a formula and a full sized piece of paper cheat sheet. Put in the work and you will do well. His study guide is literally the test with different numbers... just make sure you can do all the problems. Write conceptuals on your cheat sheet from the at-home readings.

if u don't get a good grade w him it's not his fault lol. put in a bit of work to work through all the problem sets/understand them fully and you will be fine on every exam. i put examples of diff problems on my cheat sheet which helped a lot. genuinely not a hard class and u can exchange hw/quiz answers with other people

Hybrid class, so you only meet once a week. He's an amazing professor and his exams are exactly what you see in the problem sets, lectures, and quizzes. As long as you put in effort, you'll be fine. Make sure you don't miss deadlines and show up to class so you don't miss out on easy points.

Very good at relating lectures to real life and is willing to help. Tests are easy if you do the homework and pay attention in class as he goes over things very thoroughly. Best finance professor to take by far.

He explains the topics so well and is very invested in his student's success. Top-hat lectures aren't busy work or a waste of time the videos he puts on there help a lot.

Oz gives you all the material you need to succeed, you just have to actually use it. Do not freak out over the hard rating of this class, if you have any anxiety during the tests it will cause you to forget everything and do terrible (from experience). Oz is also super approachable and kind and will do whatever to help you.

Great professor. Uses Piazza to answer student questions on time. I did a hybrid course, so we only met once a week. Very engaging lectures and relates it often to real life scenarios. $15 textbook and it was well written.

He is great at explaining things but he doesn't go over everything that is going to be on the exam so make sure you read the textbook on TopHat. Exam heavy but there isn't anything on the exam that you shouldn't know. Decently hard class but he's a good teacher.

He was awesome! Take him! You have to do your own work and study, but he gives you all the resources to succeed in his course. Homework, quizzes and practice exams all help you prepare for the exam. You are allowed a cheat sheet for exams. Go to class, take everything seriously and understand it then you will do great. Also SSI sessions are great.

Anyone saying this class is "the hardest class in Darla" should not be a college student. Oz is by far one of the best if not the best prof's at DMSB. His lectures are informative, and if you read the chapters and take notes you should succeed in this class. This class is a great intro course to Finance and is interesting if you just put in effort.

Class only meets once a week and you earn participation points by going to class. The class is 90% just applying formulas to problems, so if you look at his online lectures you should be fine. The few reviews saying this class is hard must not have taken another college course, test are super easy and multiple choice. Is mostly graded on tests.

Make sure to actually do the HW and problem sets, they are a huge part of your grade since there are only 3 tests including the final. You get a cheat and formula sheet for exams and he offered EC.

Professor Oz is one of the best professors I've had at UOFSC. He's super caring and implements the coursework into real-world examples. He allows cheat sheets on all exams. I encourage you to use the SI sessions to your advantage. I got A's on most of my exams because of it. Make sure to study the practice tests in top hat! Take him at all costs.

Best teacher I've had at Darla Moore. He made his own textbook that is really easy to understand, and his exams are fair. Actually, go to his class because his lectures are fantastic, and everything is really well done. Class is not hard if you do all the homework and actually study for the exams and go to class. Oz is great and very knowledgeable about FINA. You MUST attend class and keep up with lecture assignments to succeed in this class! Even though Oz is always available to answer questions and provides plenty of review materials, this class can get difficult quickly, and the exams are particularly tricky. Focus, and you'll be fine.

He wrote the textbook himself, and it explains the finance concepts very well and is very applicable to the test. Great lectures and extra credit offered. Definitely recommend!

Excellent choice of a professor for this class. Connected material in class to real-world examples and did a great job explaining concepts. The key to doing well is doing practice problems over and over and making sure you fully understand every single formula. If you do that, the exams are not bad. Also my section was offered up to 4% extra credit

This class is super tough but Dr. Oz rocks. He is an amazing lecturer and genuinely cares about his students succeeding. You must do practice problems over and over in order to do well on tests. The biggest problem I had was not having enough time on tests.

You can tell Oz is very passionate about finance and puts a lot of time into the class and to students. The class itself is very challenging and Oz will move very very quick so it will require a lot of study time but is overall manageable.

He writes the textbook himself and donates all revenue from it to DMSB. The hybrid layout of the course worked well for me, and forces students to be accountable for their success. Piazza helped a ton when I was confused. If you put in the time to read the textbook, take notes, and practice the example problems, this class will be easy.

This was a really tough class. I studied so much and still did not do well on the exam which is why I earned a C. His exam questions were a lot different than the homework and quizzes so study as much as you can.

Professor Oz is the goat. He knows what he's talking about, easy to listen to, and engages with his students, which is even more impressive since he's got about 200 of them per section. The material is difficult and the exams are hard, but he definitely teaches it well and gives you pretty much all the materials you need. He's just dope.

Oz is a great professor and the best one for 363. One positive thing that is not shown when registering for tue/thur is Tuesday class was 90% of the time a "virtual" class where you took your own notes online and did questions for homework on TopHat due wednesday night, Thursday was in person and he went over examples based on the lecture homework.

He's as good as they say. Textbook is easy to understand and directly relates to homework. Exams aren't hard as long as you do the practice problems. Offers extra credit. Pulls real life examples and day-to-day info. Super cool guy.

Great prof—very knowledgeable, and his lectures are easy to follow. Let you have a cheat sheet and formula sheet for every exam, so as long as you know which numbers to plug into which formulas, this class is basically a guaranteed A! I highly recommend doing all the practice problems he posts on TopHat (don't be lazy), since his exams are 80%math.

I switched my major to finance after this class. Anyone that says FINA 363 is difficult with Oz literally must not be trying at all. This class was so overhyped in difficulty - I have an 105.2 right now with only the final left to take. He is such an amazing professor and if you pay attention, you will be genuinely interested in learning more. TAKE

Oz is the best professor I have had at USC so far. This is also the first class I had to truly study and grind for but it paid off in the end. He gives some extra credit and curves exams. He is the best.

I think that this class would have been a lot easier if I put in more time outside of the class than I did. He does provide a lot of resources to do well. However, I am the type of person who needs someone in person to teach me how to do things and in this class you have to teach yourself it. The class is half online half in person.

Do the tophat questions every week and study a little for the tests and you'll get an A. The practice tests he gives on tophat are the same as what he puts on the exam. Oz also keeps it interesting in class and helps you understand finance.

He offered an extra-credit assignment that was very low-stakes. You definitely need to put the work in outside of class, but I never felt like I was walking in the dark.

Professor Oz is one of my favorite professors I've had. His lectures are amazing, and he always adapts them to what students are struggling with. The exams were difficult, but that's just the class. You do get a cheat sheet, though. As long as you attend lectures and work through the practice problems, you'll do well.

If you don't pay attention or skip class, you will struggle. Exam weight is heavy and exams are 15-16 questions. Oz cares about his students and is a good teacher, but i did not like the hybrid class, I learned more when we met in person. Its a hard class but you get what you put in to the class. If you study, and do the assignments before the in person class you will get an A. If you dont its a very failable class.

As a senior, of all the professors I have had here at USC, he is top 2 and not 2. This class requires a bit of math fair warning. His lectures are really good he works out practice problems constantly. If you pay attention to those the exams will be easy. The homework is also a good indicator of how well you will do in the class.

Oz is a very good professor and its obvious he cares about Finance. However, this class is incredibly hard and I think that hybrid is not the best choice. exams make up 70% of your grade and are pretty hard especially the 2nd exam.

Overall, I thought he was a very good professor this class is just a lot of new content in one semester so make sure you actually do the work and pay attention!!

This class is very easy to do well in if you read the lectures and take notes before class. He only meets in class once a week, but it is important to have notes prepared beforehand. Great guy and offered 3% credit for a BMC certificate that is actually engaging and useful. Study diligently and take notes, and you'll excel!

Oz is a good guy and it's clear he cares a lot about finance and helping his students understand how the material connects to the real world. That being said, it's a VERY math heavy course. The SIs are helpful but since it's a hybrid course, you have to teach a lot of it to yourself. 3% extra credit offered and TopHat questions for participation.

Oz is best teacher you can take. Hes super nice and understanding and he goes over practice problems so that you understand the material. Tests are so easy like deadass he gives u the formula sheet so all you have to do is plug in the numbers and on the test only one number ever makes sense so its hard to fail.
