Wyzgowski clearly has a deep understanding of/interest in math, and explains concepts concisely. He is respectful of students, even if they slack off a lot or have trouble understanding basic fundamentals. I'll definitely take more classes from him in the future.
Good instructor in general, he has a deep understanding of mathematics. He will even answer questions not covered in the course.
He could not be any clearer on how Algebra works. If you can't learn from him you have a problem. Also pop quiz's on Thursdays. Easy 4.0
His class is difficult because he goes through the material very fast in the lectures. He goes over a lot in a short amount of time. But he explains it well 1 on 1 in office hours. He's a very nice teacher, and a lenient and fair grader. He will help you if you're struggling, but you put forth the effort.
He teaches really fast and you have to get the concept fast before you are stuck into confusion. He is really nice in grading quizzes and exams. Take his class and get a good grades.
He is the best math teacher :)
Great teacher. Excellent at teaching, makes math very easy. Highly recommended. Go to lecture and you will understand everything. His explanations are very easy to follow. Best teacher at SCC so far.
Great teacher.. Not too difficult
He is well prepared for daily lectures, and you will get a lot in the lecture if you read the txtbook before going to class and have the very basic knowledge about the materials. He writes a lot on the board which may be just too much to take in your note. Try to summarize them in your way. Quizzes and exams are 99% related to lectures notes.
He is a very serious and good instructor.he Is fast but if u attend class and do your home works his quizzes and exams are related to the lectures and homework .
Professor Wyzgowski is a amiable and helpful teacher. If you ask questions, he will explain to you clearly and in details.Overall, He is a very brilliant and good-looking teacher. But he teaches very fast, that's the only thing I don't really like!
He is the best.
Not the best at dumbing things down if you're having trouble, but does a good job overall. Covers a lot of material very fast but gives ample time to work on assignments, is positive and encouraging, and grades very fairly.
He was pretty helpful, but he struggles a bit with nervousness at times (at least that's my theory). This sometimes causes explanations to questions to be a little confusing or misleading. His ability to incorporate the textbook with the class is really good, and if you have a question out of the text, assigned or not, he's happy to go over it.
Very nice guy, if a little nervous sounding at times. He teaches very fast though, so it is easy to get bogged down and behind.
He is amazing teacher. I totally recommend to take his class. He do not use a book, but if you have a book it worth it. He is very nice, helpful, and smart. Homework and test is not hard if you take class everyday. If you have a problem, he will help you. I cannot explain him as a word. Anyway, he is the best in SCC.
he does his best to make sure everyone passes by doing things like extending due dates dropping low scores and having open office hours.
He is so helpful and kind. I highly recommened his class. And if you review everytime, you will be got A
I highly recommened his class. And if you review everytime, you will be got A. Sometimes he give a chance to get a extra credit, you have to do that.
I recommened his class. And if you review everytime, you will be got A. Sometimes he give a chance to get a extra credit, you have to do that.
Przemyslaw articulates ideas and mathematical concepts better than any other math instructor I've taken classes from at SCC. I feel like he earnestly cares and goes the extra mile to explain something to you if you approach him personally for help. He's also handsome to the point of being distracting. Mmmm, dat beard.
He is very kind. Test is pretty easy because he always gives pratices test before an exam. So if you review everyday, you will get a good grade.
He is the best professor in the college because he always kind and helpful. Test is pretty easy because he always gives pratices test before an exam. So if you review everyday, you will get a good grade.
One of your lowest test grade will be replaced by your final grade( if it higher) and your lowest writing assignment grade will be eliminated. However, he talks reallyyyy fast. I only had 2 options in class: listen or take note. Besides that he pretty cool.
Wyzgowski is an awesome math teacher. He explains stuff well, and will help you after class and during office hours. He doesn't bog you down with a lot of assignments, either. Doesn't offer very much extra credit, but will allow you to correct a few problems from your a test or written assignment for full credit!
Very cool and easy professor allowing easy A
He is the one of professors who know how to teach students, and he is really good at explain math concept. All his tests and quizzes are not too difficult, but not too easy. To get 4.0, you really need to work it and it is worth it! As others said, he is really nice and kind, so if you have question whether it is related to course, just ask him!
THUMBS UP!!!
One of the better math teachers. He lectures really fast though and can skip simpler steps of calc. I would watch him work through the problem then take a picture of the lecture and write it down later. Really prompt with emails. If you take his class seriously you will learn a lot about calculus. Lenient grader. Do the practice exams!
Really good professor in Math. Everyone should take with him.
Wyzgowski is one of the better math instructors at SCC. His teaching is style best suited to engineering students people who need math, but don't really care too much about it. Very, very good at teaching the mechanics, but he can sometimes forget context. You'll learn the math, but to *understand* it you'll have to put extra time in on your own
Awesome professor, you will not regret it you choose his class.
Wyzgowski was one of the best math professors I have taken at Shoreline. He was really nice during his office hours and his lectures were clear. He also allowed exam corrections and had a practice test on canvas which was similar to the exam. I honestly recommend him to all of my friends and wish I could've taken him for the whole math series.
Wyzgowski is an amazing professor. His lectures are very clear, tests are fair, and he does give a lot of homework. However, as long as you are on top of your homework, ask him questions if you do not understand any part of the lecture or homework, you will be great for the class.
He's a well-organized professor and probably one of the best math teachers Ive ever met. The tests and exam are not difficult. He has the ability to inspire students; he can explain some abstract theorems in an intuitive way. If you get stuck with the problems, he's willing and patient to help you.
He is a good teacher. However, his teaching is a little bit fast. You have to be careful to listen to what he is talking. If you like to take note, you have to be fast. The test he gives are not hard. But it is not easy too.
He is a very nice teacher. His lectures are clear and organized. Sometimes he teaches a little fast but if you take notes carefully and revise it before the test, you can get an A. His tests are not hard but they are not easy. Best teacher ever!
Wyzgowski is one of the nicest math teachers I've seen in a while. In my case though, I was taking him for MATH224 in the summer at South Seattle. Summer was too short, but he did everything he could to teach well in a short amount of time. Gives great lectures and feedback on tests. His tests are hard, at least for me, but passable.
Awesome teacher! take him and you will not regret it.
The class was quite difficult, especially the final exam. But he's funny and the lectures are great. Very fast paced class (might've just been because it was Summer quarter).
All his homework is on webassign which he thinks is a reason for putting minimum effort into his grading. He makes it impossible for a student to improve on there own. He will also make practice tests with no key. When asked for the key he said there were similar problems online and blew the student off. Cannot stress enough how little he cares.
If u are math major it runs the spectrum. If calc is just a requirement, avoid him. I found when introducing new material he would breeze through it as being elementary to him. I would usually be 2 examples behind him in taking notes. After his basic example in class or on HW, he has complex problems. hard to learn no concepts when doing advancedmth
don't understand below rate. A concrete explanation, nice person. if you want to key for practice test? go to his office and ask. if you've got A from easy math prof. , You have to put effort to track his class because his class is not so easy. For preparing tests, just focus on hw and ex. from lecture. He never gives prob. outside of lecture.
His core material is structured for a mathematician. Expect complex problems that require a lot of unpackaging & repackaging to complete. About 10 steps for 20-30 problems on a HW assignments. His level of support is for you to review math books. At his advance level he expects you to know everything like a math major. Hard to learn basics ofcalc
I suggest going to classes. Even thought I only been to classes for total of 10 times not including test day. If you do skip a class read the text book. It is super helpful. But also do go to his office hours. He is really nice and willing to help. For his test, focus on the worksheet. Especially the practice test and the review one.
Calculus is hard but Professor Wyzgowski tried to make it as understandable as possible. He's a really funny dude and lectures well. He also takes the time to answer questions in a succinct way. His tests are hard because the math itself is hard, not because of trickery or subterfuge. Approachable outside of class and really works to help you.
He is awesome! Very pleasant fellow, good tempered, great sense of humor, great understanding of the material. I feel his grading scheme was more than fair and his test are not unnecessarily difficult. Wish I could take the rest of the calc series with this guy!
Linear Algebra is a tough topic and his approach to it was very abstract. He is very knowledgeable. be prepared to study.
Linear algebra is a tough topic but his teaching style can let you understand hard concepts in a easy way. Good professor. And you are more willing to talk with him if you will major in mathematics, he got good feedbacks.
Affectionately known as the Wyzard, Professor Wyzgowski couples difficult coursework with comprehensive, well-formatted lectures. He will make you work for your grade but his grading scale is fair and his teaching style will lead you to a solid fundamental understanding. If you are a serious math student you will benefit from his teaching.
He's a generous grading instructor, work through the lecture in class without looking at note. Homework must be handwritten and neat, standardized which I find it unusual for a typical math teacher. he's willing to read through 50 students long homework each single week. take his job very seriously, diligently, a plus compared w/ others i know.
I HATE math and this professor made the semester bearable. He knows how to teach and he actually helps his students to succeed. His lectures are practical and helpful. I highly recommend Professor PMW.
Took Math 151 with him. His way of teaching is really good, and he really cares about his student. He will slowly explain the material until every student in his class understands. Approachable and really care about his students. Homeworks are in WebAssign but you can come to his office hour and figure out the problems you can't do together.
he is really nice teacher, sometimes the amount of homework's that he gives can headache be but it is for your own good it helps you to practice more.
Explains things clearly and always grades super duper fast! Hoping he teaches some more of the math I will be taking!
His lecture is the best. Only four exam and one of the lowest could be replaced by final. And the final is unexpected easy. He is do not like to grade HW by hand, so he always use the WebAssign, which is not very helpful. The lecture notes is the key to succeed because you can see the exact same example from the exam.
Math class and club are very interesting.
All HW is due online, the homework is hard and heavy. It's hard to understand his lecture, too vague. His tests are difficult too.
You should take his class if you want to get high grade. His lecture is very amazing.
This lazy guy spend entire hour doing one question and get wrong answer. All online homework is extremely hard and you gonna study over hundreds question of his exam. Review exam aint help. Take him if you want to drop your GPA
understandable
i know we're in quarantine and it makes the transition for learning rough, but this guy has not attempted to teach a damn thing, literally just gives us a bunch of homework on WebAssign, no lecture notes or any previously recorded lectures, no condensed explanation, save your money and attend in person, his online class is a p4thetic waste of money
Saw someone in his 152 class complaining about him too. LAZYYYYYYYY Professor. It is sad that the lowest rating here is 1, I don't think he even deserves any rating since he does not even teach. He needs to take a pay cut to be responsible for his attitude.
I'm not sure what he's like in person but i don't like his online class, he interacts very little and does not respond to my messages/emails until is too late, he did not do any "teaching" at all. everything is done on webassign and the textbook, basically a udemy class that costs 100x the price, hard deadlines and little to no instruction is given
He has awesome whiteboard notes and explains things clearly in the lecture, so if you want to have organized notes to review, he is the guy. But he does not provide good feedback regards to homework assignments or exams. Writings on exam feedback are hardly readable and can be lazy on grading.
took him for pre calc 2 in person which he was great, but i was disappointed by his performance this quarter and the lack of teaching, the only material you'll learn from is the online stuff and some linked youtube videos, the assignments are time consuming so bank away 5-6 hours a day for math. this is extremely poor education vs what u pay for
his online class was awful. if you're taking him, get ready to teach yourself an entire subject because he is extremely lazy and doesn't teach you anything, you'll get little to no feedback on your work with vague references, and when he "helps" you, he only refers you to back to your textbook or youtube videos, he is extremely useless
Rarely available for "office hours", he replies extremely late and randomly extends assignments, extremely disappointed with his lack of commitment to teaching, classes being moved online is not an excuse to not teach and assign everyone hours of webassign garbage with little too no guidance.
Wyzgowski is a respectful professor. His teaching was well planned and structured, the lectures are focused and just the right length to save students time.
I took his class before. He doesn't answer your question he just asks you to post it on the discussion and when you do he responds a few days later or after the deadline.
He is amazing in explaining. However, he is not really understanding of students' situations. He is also a tough grader, who expects you to answer precisely using his style. However, I do think he is the best math instructor in terms of explaining at SCC.
I'm a complete idiot for not taking Professor Wyzgowski sooner. His lectures are informative and coherent enough for me to easily understand the concepts so I'm crushing through the homework. Barely into the second week and I already know taking Professor Wyzgowski class is so far the best course choice.
The questions for Final Exam didn't show up so deadline was pushed from 11:59 pm to 4:59 am. Decided to double check answers and submitted before 4:59am. Checked my grade and my exam was 0/100 for being late and I check deadline again to see deadline was moved from 4:59 am to 1:59 am. I'm done with this school and its hack professors.
Dr. Wyzgowski is a pretty good professor for me. You'll get credit from 3 different areas, in-class assignments, homework, and tests/exams. Make sure to finish all the practice tests/exams before taking the real test/exam, because the question types are very similar so that you can get prepared for it. (Tips: Always get yrself prepared b4 lessons)
Professor Wyzgowski is a funny and smart teacher! But if you take his class, you MUST keep up with the homework, you MUST start working on it way before it's due, and you MUST go to office hours. He teaches in a very understandable way, but he is not understanding of things that might make you miss class or an assignment. Good teacher, be careful
I can't say his teaching was wonderful or great. He is not a harsh grader and he can grade your exam higher than you can imagine. Also, his classes are very dynamic and interesting. I like his class.
This is probably the laziest math professor I've ever known. You want to know why? Just take his class and give it a try.
This professor takes great care of his students, no matter what grade they are in. Additionally, his tests are graded in a soft manner.
Amazing teacher. As with any instructor, utilize his office hours as he is a wealth of knowledge. His enthusiasm for math got me excited about the material. His tests were honestly a bit challenging, but he is a fair grader and offers test corrections for partial credit. Would definitely take another of his classes.
Too many homework assignment due in such a short time. 5 assignments in one 1 week. No break because you should be reading the book, listening to the lectures (each 1 hour each at least per section on average). Yeah, good luck even having a life. Very relentless and the teacher seems to not care.
Homework was M/W/F with "lectures" Tue/Thur. I wanted to drop class the second I got there, but I tried because I needed calc, wrong choice. He cares more about definitions than topics. He also made us do proofs IN CALC 1! Take the online lady at all costs for calc! The other two are rude, terrible, and horrible at teaching (outdated/unhelpful).
I've always had a hard time with math, but Prof. Wyzgowski's class made things a lot easier. Flipped classroom, but the class sessions were equally as valuable and he's good at answering questions.
This dude is the man. I love talking to him about all things math, he gets me super excited about the topics. Lots of homework but honestly loved his Calc II. Also, his exams are not necessarily easy, but he is a reasonable, lenient grader.
doenst do lectures. very helpless. avoid this class at all costs!!
The absolute worst professor on campus. Expects the class to be able to do math before the class starts and does not do lecture, only gives worksheets for us to do. I've never felt such mental agony before entering this class. No choice but to take him, please add more HELPFUL and KIND professors in Shoreline. I beg.
