Easy and fun, but she is lasy about grading papers. We turned in an essay and didn't get it back for a week and a half. It's hard to know what to improve on when you can't see your previous mistakes!
I think SHE's one of the best english teachers out there. She's willing to help whenever you need it and she MAKES sure that you understand the material. For ME,she was definitely not HARD. AS for others with A ROCK for a brain, I dunno. She's hot, too.:p
Mrs. Anderson is an awesome teacher. I might be a bit partial about this, but for me, she is helpful, understanding, and kind. I would really recommend her to anybody. (Too bad you're married now, huh. Ms. Norton? ;) )
She's an excellent teacher. I don't know why she doesn't teach Lit. classes, but I wish she did. She was very helpful, understanding, and easy to warm up to. She tries hard to make sure that you understand all materials covered. I highly recommend her.
This was my first college course in 7 years (I took it in Summer 03) and I enjoyed it so much! Anderson was fair, helpful and concise.
Very easy class....took class during summer and she made us write only 4 essays and allowed us to rewrite two of the first three. Final was ok...highly recommend for all English classes.
very patient teacher. She has a unique way of helping you understand english. She makes it seem so easy. She was the foundation for my A in literature.
She is very energized. She has a great way of explaining the material; while, she still give the freedom of writing. If I can recommend a comp 1 teacher she would be the best choice.
Had her for comp.1. She is a very good teacher. Knows the material and explain things were you can understand them. Fair on grades, and is liberal with allowing what you write. Grading papers is a little slow, but consider the amout that she grades. She's quick getting them back to you. Great tech!
Don't think she usually teaches this level but took it on in an adjunct style. Usually teaches AdultEd so makes material interesting and easy to understand. Very fair tests and grading. Does make a lot of sexual references which I could have done without, but thats what keeps most people interested. Would recommend overall.
Mrs. Anderson is a very good teacher! Although the material was not the easiest, she made it very clear and easy to understand. She is very helpful to each student and she has stayed after class to make sure I understood the work. I highly suggest taking her for English classes.
she just rocks, period. and i've only had her twice so far!

Great teacher, very professional and understabding. I had her once but she used to help me when she was working as a lab teacher.I will recommend her for all English classes.
She was VERY nice and understanding, even about late work. I wish all teachers were this way!!
This is an easy course with a lot of work. You are required to submit discussions, journals, quizzes and a couple essays.Mrs. A had computer probs thru-out the semester, and sometimes didn't log on to the course for 3 days or more! Due to this she wasn't able to stick to the syllabus, and the last few weeks of the course were up in the air.
She was the best teacher even when she was an adjuct teaching American Literature. It just made Literature fun and interesting instead of another boring class. She was a great help to the students at the reading lab years before. -Mark
Mrs. Anderson is tough but fair. When you take American Literature expect to do a lot of reading and a lot of writing. If you suck at either task you will have a hard time with this course. Mrs. Anderson gives blunt criticism but also offers to assist you in improving your grade. I liked her style; whiners need not take her class.
she takes for ever to grade anything. but work is due every week, 3 big paper due during the semester. seems cool
As an older student of 45 yrs i was worried about going back to college. Professor Anderson helped tremendiously
as an older student i was worried about returning to college. Professor Anderson assists quite well. This was an online course for me
There are discussion posts that are easy, post one original and reply to a classmates post, 100 word min. on each. These are easy. Essays are 700-1000 words. MLA format. There are grammer tests that I didn't do well at but their not hard if you study grammer. There is no extra credit.
Great Teacher, fun class expectations are crystal clear.
She takes forever to grade work and never responds to emails. We were in week 10 and she had not graded things from week 4. It was very frustrating being in a literature class online with her.You have to do 2 weekly discussions and 3 responses weekly. You rotate between quizzes and journal entries weekly. There are 2 essays,a midterm, and a final
Class was online during the summer. I?m not sure if it was just the summer or it?s just how she runs her class. She takes a long time to grade work. So if you?re the kind of student that likes to see how you?re progressing before doing other assignments.. you will get frustrated. The World is a text is a great book though. Quiz, disc, and essays.
Took forever to grade anything! Took her class for English Comp 1 and liked it but not 2.
Mrs. Anderson is the best English teacher ever. I took her for English Composition II at PSC and it was one of the best college-level courses. She does not hammer you if you make a mistake but does help you correct your errors. She is a fanstastic teacher.
Mrs. Anderson is just fun, fair, helpful, insightful, innovative and energized. She always made time to answer any question and keeps a balanced tone throughout the class. She is consistent and wants you to succeed. I would recommend her for Eng comp I all day long.
Took her ENG102 course online. Extremely slow to grade. I mean extremely slow (slower than what she states in the syllabus). Changes to final exam requirements made without proper notification, caused major issues. Took vacation during the class.
I absolutely LOVE this woman. She is really funny and made the class even more interesting than I knew it would be. She is an English teacher but is starting to teach Humanities and Mythology (take her for any of them, because she is fantastic!!). I wish I had more time next semester to take her Mythology class as an elective. A+++
I took this class online, which really is much easier and less time consuming. She is a little slow at grading, but if you've passed English 1 and 2 you should know how to write a paper, so I didn't find it that big of a deal. I would definitely take her again.
Mrs. Anderson is a GREAT teacher. It does take her a while to grade, but she does have more than one class to teach and papers to grade for them too. I am sure she enjoys spending time with her family also. Give her a break people. I loved her class. She keeps it fun. I was never bored.
Mrs. Anderson was by far one of the best, most hilarious, interesting teachers I've ever had! Her class is a relaxed environment with open discussions. She's very witty, current and a spitfire!
She was just a delight. I'm talking her again with my African American history, something I am only taking to take her again.
She is very slow to return graded work so don't take this class if you like to know where your grade stands. Lots of busy work in the form of discussion posts.
If you can read, the class is a breeze!! The only down side is Mrs. Anderson is a slow grader... The discussion posts are easy and can be done early to get them out of the way. Test questions following the readings and if you read it, it's so EASY!
Mrs. Anderson is an incredible teacher with a passion for life and for teaching. She cares about the students and wants people to get involved in her class. Her enthusiasm is contagious and she only knows one speed....wide open. (I would hate to see her wired with caffeine) I highly recommend her mythology class.
She is sooo wonderful! I would definitely recommend and take her again. She does put papers up on a projector for the class to discuss. She is fairly easy just need to study a bit. She is very understanding when it comes to schedule conflicts as well.
I absolutely loved her class. She is hilarious! She makes everything interesting, and she is always drinking caffeine. Her class is fairly easy and straight forward. Definitely recommend.
Mrs. Anderson is amazing! She always has a great energy and outlook in the classroom and is always willing to help. Lots of reading and some fairly lengthy writing assignments but nothing out of the norm. She's a little slow on grading but makes up for it with relaxed grading and positive energy.
I hated English before I had Mrs. Anderson. She made it fun! A lot of reading and small writing assignments, but nothing horrible. She is hilarious! Great teacher and will take again if given the opportunity.
Prof Anderson has a great style for teaching and keeping everyone interested. Even though she is strict with her writing assignments, she is quick to give feedback to help improve your writing. She is actually trying to teach and not just earn a paycheck. I almost cried when I was done with her class. I would love to take a class with her again. :)
Professor Anderson is fabulous! She is absolutely hilarious and is extremely helpful. It does take a little while to get some grades on papers back. We did work in groups in class. There are some long readings and be prepared to take quizzes if she knows/thinks people are not doing them.
Would not take her again. pop quizzes on what you read last. Read or you won't pass. She can be rude, sometimes.
This class is not easy but it is interesting and that makes it worth taking. Professor Anderson is very nice, but in her Literature class she is slow to get your papers back to you and we had to turn in the next essays and reflections before we got back our grades for the previous ones. This made it hard to make an "A."
Took class online, you will have to read poems and short stories each week. One research/argumentative paper (1500 words) and several Readers reflections essays. Grades papers in a timely fashion and responds to questions within 24 hrs.
I like her a lot! There's a lot to read obviously, but the works she picks are actually interesting. Can be somewhat of a harsh grader, but she offers lots of extra credit and I'm actually somewhat sad that I don't have any more courses that I can take with her.
Took my English Comp. II online and Anderson had us doing two discussions posts a week with 2 responses to each. We had Reader Reflections, an Annotated Bibliography, and a Research Paper due in her class along with some unit tests. Half of the reading was really long and dull, but the other stories we got to read made it worth it.
Mrs. Anderson was one of the best teachers I've ever had. I've already dropped English Comp II once and was not looking forward to taking it, but she seriously made me look forward to coming to class. The stories she assigns are good, class discussions were great, she's a fair grader, she's really funny, and she's so so so nice.
Ms. Anderson assigns too much work. The work doesn't even correlate to the topic the course is studying. She does NOT reply to emails regarding assignments you may have confusion with. Ms. Anderson does not give good critique on assignments, she can also be a bit snarky. Overall, don't take her class unless you want to do a bunch of "busy" work.
At first I thought she was rude, but I ended up liking her (online class anyways.) You have to participate because it is most of your grade. You will always have to read, but I will say for Comp 2, I was surprised to see a research paper. I found the majority of the criteria ok to read, not constantly boring. Gives good grading rubrics.
I absolutely love Mrs. Anderson. Her lectures are so fun, and I genuinely looked forward of attending her class. She made me love reading again. I am planning on taking her again this summer! You won't be disappointed with her.
I enjoyed having Ms. Anderson
I really love Mrs. Anderson. She is an absolute gem to take online and in class. I love how she has clear due dates set and gives good feedback! She is a wonderful professor.
I've never had such an awful teacher! She takes FOREVER to grade papers and when you finally get it back its hard to tell what she took points off for and I still had 3 papers left that I never got my grades back, only got my final grade that I had to look up on my transcripts because she was so late with that, canvas was shut down already!
Unprofessional when critiquing papers. Not truly helpful, seems as though she'd rather just tell you you're wrong than actually help. Will be glad to be done with this class. I wouldn't take her again if I needed another English/Lit class. One of the worst professors I've had at PSC.
Took American Lit from 1870 with this instructor online. I sought help with citations as I struggle with them before our first paper was due, and when the grades finally came out (2 days before the next one was due) I had points marked off even though I had submitted the full citation and gotten approval on it beforehand. Not the best instructor.
Assigns interesting material and seems nice. Takes months to grade assignments and gives vague feedback. Barely responds to emails (online course) and takes days if she does respond. Assignments were often confusing due to using old non-working links in the questions in quizzes or mixing up material from other classes. Would not take again.
By far the worst professor I have had at PSC. She does not follow the policies listed on her syllabus. It took her incredibly long to grade the assignments. I was one point away from the next letter grade and she did not even consider to give me a chance to raise it. I do not recommend her to anyone.
Probably the best professor I have had so far at PSC. She literally is so funny and cares about you. You do have to read the book and she gives easy quizzes a lot so, you dont have to worry about your grade.
Best teacher at psc hands down, Im honestly sad I cant take her class again. She doesnt really care about attendance so dont sweat that and she does what she can to help you out.
I love Mrs. Anderson! She is extremely funny and one of my favorite teachers in the English Department. I took her for African American Literature, and she's extremely nice. Take her guys, you won't regret it!
I really enjoyed Prof. Anderson's class you don't need the book everything can be found on the internet (don't waste your money on the book like I did). She's very sweet and she makes the class really fun and also she makes us actually think. The assignments are not too easy and it's not too hard it's right in the middle. 10/10! :)
Good class, you'll do best if you read the stories. I only read half the stories and online summaries for the other half and i still got an A, but this strategy made the tests harder. The tests are quite in depth, testing your reading comprehension and memory. The majority of the points, though, are earned from logging in 2-3 times/week for an hour
Mrs. Anderson is a great teacher, but I took her live online class and it was a struggle at times. The main reason being that her calendar was not up to date so knowing when assignments were due and which assignments to do was a mystery the majority of class.
Such an easy teacher. She's so flexible on assignments, if a lot of students don't do a certain assignment, we will do it in class and ignore the graded part. Great teacher and incites lots of thoughtful conversations. Super nice and funny. Easy class if you can write well and have ONE subject you're passionate about.
I have a Calculus class that is less stressful than this. ALL she does is waste time in class going over things she assigned as homework. Then wonders why no students do any reading or homework. She assigns multiple essays at the same time without explaining them until right before they are due. If I would have known I'd have waited to take it.
Very funny professor and fun class. She's also extremely helpful because she goes over the assigned work in class, and I really liked how she had us do research essay related assignments very early on. Tests are also fairly easy because they're mainly based on the assigned readings, and there's little quizzes on those readings too.
Pretty easy class and a great professor. Reading quizzes will be given every other day at the beginning of class. They are pretty easy sometimes you can just read summaries on stories and still pass. Overall great class!
Pretty easy class, she is really nice and tries to be relatable. She generally gives a grace period in between assignments. Note: Out of the 3 reading assignments I recommend doing all of them cause it could help your grade if you don't do well on the paper. If you bomb the research paper you will most likely bomb the class, she grades heavily.
Stopped grading halfway through the semester. She blamed me for her schedule being messed up and almost gave me a 0 on my final before I was able to reach out and show that she said the final was open on specific dates that she claimed wasn't. She then went back and changed her mistake and blamed me once again. Good thing I had screenshots.
Stopped grading halfway through the semester. Almost gave me a 0 on my final before I reached out and showed that it was open on specific dates she wrote. She not only said it was my fault once, but twice. She then went back and fixed her mistake. Good thing I took screenshots! No accountability. Just a nasty attitude and blamed it on me instead.
Professor is very very very unprofessional. She often leaves comments like "Awkward" or "Huh?" as a reason to giving you a very low grade on a paper. With no explanation she will fail you and makes comments to pick on kids in class very often. She has not graded four assignments I turned in months ago so you wouldn't know weather to drop the class.
Her class is easygoing going and she teaches things in small increments, so it's easy to understand and learn. I like that about once a week she gives 2-point reading quizzes on the pieces of literature, which helps boost your grade a lot. I also appreciated the way she made us write the final essay in chunks and had us peer review.
Mrs. Anderson is such a great teacher. She is very easy-going and funny. Every class felt like a big open discussion that you could choose to participate in. There was only a couple of papers, and they weren't hard at all. I would definitely recommend taking her classes!
I'm so aggravated with her she never responds to any emails it has been over a month and still no grade on my paper I love the content but would love feedback on my essays. Don't know if I am going to pass this class or not. I understand she gets busy but a RESPONSE TO AN EMAIL AFTER A WEEK WOULD BE NICE.
Awesome teacher. She is very big on class participation and pop quizzes so be sure to read the assigned reading.
As a person who struggles in school I loved this intro to lit class. Be sure to read the stories and take notes because you will have an easy quiz after you read it. We have lots class discussions on the stories which makes helps you understand the stories better.
The teacher outlines a grading policy and states they will grade all papers within two weeks, but during the entire semester it took months at a time for a single paper to be graded with the exception of the final essay. Does not respond to emails fast, if at all, grades incredibly slow, gives bare minimum feedback that barely helps you to improve.
The class consisted of 2 tests, 3 papers, and a bunch of mini pop quizzes. The quizzes are based on the readings and had very easy questions (ex. where is the story set?) The only drawback is that she takes a bit longer to grade things.
Terrible grader, all papers were graded the last two weeks of the semester. Doesn't reply to emails half way through the semester. Pretty terrible semester with horrible feedback on papers
I have taken 3 classes with her and have not enjoyed a single one. The Instructions for her assignments were very confusing and poorly written. She also requires a lot of discussion posts, and it is impossible to receive a hundred in the class, as she constantly nitpicks your work and will find something wrong no matter what. Do Not Recommend
The most difficult class I've taken so far and not because of the course content. Anderson is picky on the essays and gives little helpful feedback on how to improve for the next assignment; she will penalize you if you do too little OR too much. The tests and quizzes are relatively easy but some of the questions are ambiguous. Good stories though!
Should have taken the other ratings seriously as Anderson does not grade papers quickly (were 6 assignments ungraded the last week of class), and is a tough grader with little feedback for improvement. Her choice of works to read in class were overall great, and most assignments were not overly difficult. She does respond to emails!
I love Mrs. Anderson. Ive had her for english comp 1, english comp 2, and LIT. Just read and do your work. She is very lenient in class, but a tough grader.
The class is poorly organized, with modules frequently posted one to two days late. Communication is a major issue—emails go unanswered despite the syllabus promising responses within 24 hours. Additionally, grading is over a month behind, making it difficult to track progress or understand where we stand academically.
This professor made multiple discriminatory remarks. Some of those were comments about students race or disabilities, like someone in a wheelchair. Other people may find these remarks "hilarious" however I disagree and felt the need to report her. If you think that discrimination is wrong I would not recommend this teacher.
