She's really nice and is not that hard of a grader! She is also very good and improving ppl's public speaking skills
She really cares about her students and is always willing to help you out. She also keeps class really interesting and fun! Highly recommended!
hard graded, but great teacher
Love her! She is one of the best professors I have had! She is really funny and definitely knows her stuff about public speaking! She really helped me get over my fears about giving speeches.
Best class I've taken! Ms. Clark is really great!
Really helpful professor!
Nice! Fun! Understanding!
She is awesome!
Overall, she's Okay. Her grading standard is pretty subjective and discretionary. Sometimes I don't know what she expects. You usually get crappy score after you thought you did an awesome presentation. 3 star!
Best professor I've had at IU!!!
yeah got in a fight with her over the reading assignments at the start of the year but she grades fairly kind of wish she would take into consideration grade complaints better tho
Prof Clark has been one of the most incredible teachers I have ever had. Class is never boring and she goes out of her way to help you in any way she can. I was really nervous about giving speeches, but she helped me become so much more confident.
Great instructor! She challenges you to work hard but I'm a way better speaker because of it. She's also really funny and keeps class interesting.
She has been the best prof's I have had the last two years. She is willing to help you as long as you ask and very sweet. I would definitely take another one of her classes if I could. The grading is very fair and you get what you put into the class.
clark is real cool. shell help you when you need it and is willing to let you make up speeches. if you do what she tells to and improve from your first speech... youll definitely get an A. shes not bad to look at too...
Paige was an absolutely fantastic business presentations prof. She was engaging and made the material and speech assignments interesting.
Paige is an awesome professor. I really don't think I would be as confident as a speaker if I wouldn't have taken her class. She is also really positive and funny and keeps class interesting!
She is an amazing professor and an even better person! She's the best Prof i've had so far at IU! As long as you do the work sincerely, you'll get the grades! She is Superb!
she rocks
She is amazing! Best prof I've had since I've been at IU. Take her class she rocks!
Paige is a fabulous teacher. I was terrified of public speaking before... if this is the case, take c104 with clark. She doesn't grade as hard as other teachers, she keeps the environment very lo key, and you will end the semester a much better speaker and much more comfortable than before.
Paige is fabulous! She knows how to give constructive criticism without being too harsh. Be sure to get to know her and ask her for help when needed. She's a really happy person.
Paige is honestly the nicest person and professor I've had. She genuinely cares and wants to help her students be better speakers. I definitely without a doubt recommend her. She is a very fair grader, you get what you deserve. She also recognizes when you improve on something and acknowledges that. She is amazing.
Paige was a phenomenal professor. She was always really engaging and seemed to care about her students. She takes the time to make an otherwise "dry business class" fun. Additionally, she has a great sense of humor and loves presentations that are goofy, yet professional. She's been my favorite professor at IU so far.
She is an awesome professor. She truly cares about her students and wants them to become better speakers. I took it over the summer so she understood that we didn't have as much time to prepare and took that into consideration. She is a very fair grader and you definitely get what you deserve. She is very approachable and overall a happy person.
Professor Clark was so nice to everyone and was willing to help whoever needed it. This course is mostly group work though, so be prepared for that.
Always pleasant and seemingly helpful but your fate depends on how much she likes your class andor group. She assigned weak people to my group in an effort to balance teams and screwed me out of the full A I deserved based on their efforts. She hammers you on "reflection" responses that have nothing to do with presentations at the end so beware.
Paige Clark was my favorite professor of my freshman year. She was very committed to making the class fun. Be wary of the group you "choose", because she often just tries to balance it out. If you are nice to her, she will be nice back. She bumped me from an A- to an A, just because I participated in class and was nice to her. Overall, loved it.
I dreaded giving speeches before Professor Clark's class, but she helped my overcome my fear. Grading is clear, gives great feedback on speeches, and very clear on expectations. Go to office hours, because she is definitely willing to help you out and give useful tips. If you work hard and improve you should get the grade you want.
Paige is my favorite professor from my freshman year. She is young which makes her easily relatable to her students and really cares about her students. She wants you to do well and will help you whenever you need it. She is very fair when it comes to grading speeches and realizes you won't be a perfect speaker so she doesn't grade super hard.
Pretty solid prof. Would probably take again. If you get a good group, you are good to go. Only gripe is that she didn't round my 92.4 to an A. But whatever, not a huge deal, I was happy just getting an A-.
Everybody dreads speech class, but Paige makes you feel comfortable. There are two huge group presentations, which account for a lot of your grade. She picks the groups and tries to make them fair and on an even playing field. I would recommend Paige ten times over-- she's really enthusiastic and makes the class far less boring than it could be.
Paige is a nice lady but a very tough grader for an entry level class. She will mark you down tremendously for her "opinions" which isn't fair. For example, she grades all your powerpoints based on design, and expects you to come up with your own designs. I spent hours designing my slides and got marked down 25% because she thought it was a default
Having Paige and my presentations instructor made the class much more enjoyable than the traditional public speaking class. She creates a fun and safe environment, and was always more than willing to help or even just to talk about life! Loved having her for class.
She is an irresponsible professor. She made several absents during the spring semester. Due to her absents, class schedules totally messed up. Also, directions of the assignments are not clear. She is also extremely biased.
Prof Land was an awesome professor! By far one of the best courses that I've taken while at Kelley. She is funny, down to earth, and will support and challenge you to step outside of your comfort zone in order to be a much better presenter. Team presentations were really stressful and there are a lot of points riding on those speeches.
Great professor, really cares about he students. Definitely one of the easier C106 graders.
I really enjoyed taking business presentations with Paige! She was one of my favorite professors as a freshman!
Paige's feedback is great on each presentation so you know what to work on for the next one. In the honors class the lowest grade was either a B or a B- but more than half of the class got A's or A-'s. The way to get an A in this class is by practicing your speech until you perfect it before the day of your presentation. No text on slide deck A
Best professor for C106; Uncomplicated class structure
Paige is a wonderful teacher. She gives wonderful feedback, and really wants to see her students succeed. This class isn't always easy, but you will learn so much and come out with wonderful professional skills.
Paige is one of the sweetest, most caring teachers I know. She is super fun and wants only the best for her students. As long as you try to be a good group member, make nice visuals, and put in your best effort you'll really enjoy it with her!
I really dont understand Paiges high reviews. Her lectures are not helpful, she just sits in her chair and reads off the screen. The lectures she gives have little to no information I didnt know before C106. She is oftentimes unreasonable and doesnt tell you things you need for assingments, and then docks you points. Take it w/ a different prof
Contrary to all the reviews, I had a negative experience. She is not an extraordinary professor. I really think she is unreasonable during grades and quite a few times even rude. She doesn't help a student if he/she is not doing well on their presentation. If you are bad at presentation, she's not gonna put efforts to improve your skills.
Professor Land is a fun person to talk with. Her class makes you feel relaxed. But don't let that fool you, she's actually on the harder end of business presentation and will grade your presentation hard if you don't do the work.
Professor Land was one of my favorite professors to date. She is outgoing and wants to see you succeed. She is easily accessible outside of class and can easily meet with you. If you have the chance, take this class with her!!
Professor Land is the type of prof that you don't think you are learning much until you compare the opening speech to the final. She responds to emails very quickly (usually under an hour) and is always accommodating. I would gladly take a class with her again!
Paige is a great professor for C104. The textbook is online and attendance is mandatory but I really don't like public speaking and I got an A- in her class. She's very caring and is very clear on what she's looking for on the rubrics. Highly recommend.
She's nice enough, but grades incredibly harshly even on assignments not worth tons of points. Even the top scores won't be perfect. Extremely nitpicky and towards the end of the semester she gives you no room to breathe. Personally I'd go find someone else to take this class.
Paige Land is a good professor but because this class is an honors class, there's a lot of presentations. She is an easy grader since no one in the class ever got below like an 82 on a presentation. The homework is annoying though because it does take some time. But she usually finishes class early
Paige Land is a great professor for C106. She cares about her students, and if you chat with her before and after class, she's more than willing to help you get the grade you are looking for. All in all, great professor
Prof Land is super nice! make sure to go to optional classes, it helps with the professionalism portion of your grade. Choose your group carefully, you'll be spending a lot of time with them. Super clear feedback and what is expected, just check the rubric.
I would recommend her if your taking business presentations. Make sure to go to class and follow the rubric and you should do just fine.
TAKE PROF LAND! She really wants you to succeed. She outlines exactly what you need to do to get an A. If you do it, you will get an A. Easy as that. She's also just a really friendly face. If you hate public speaking like I do, she makes it feel bearable.
She clearly outlines everything you need to do to be successful in the course so make sure you read the rubric and stick to it. It is ESSENTIAL that you have a good group because group presentations is a big part of your grade. Overall Paige is very kind and easy to talk to.
Professor Land gives great feedback on presentations, clearly outlining your strengths and weaknesses. Focusing on what she says to improve on will help your grade on future presentations. As long as she can see that you put effort and practiced your presentation, she will give you a good grade.
I was battling from a low grade from an early presentation and showed her that I cared and wanted an A. She helped guide me and appreciated my hard work and effort. I am forever thankful for her ability to communicate with me and would recommend her.
Paige is amazing. She is funny and extremely knowledgeable. Do not feed her B.S though because she can see right through it!
Professor Land has been awesome. She gives you everything you need to know to succeed in the class. She gives feedback on presentations and then you can evaluate and make necessary changes to improve for future presentations. Class is team heavy and plan on meeting often with your team. 3 team presentations and 2 individual presentations
Professor Land was so kind to me throughout the semester. I always had a fear of presentations, and she could definitely tell, but despite that she was always encouraging me and giving me great feedback and by the end of the semester I could actually be proud of what I presented and gained so much confidence. Paige is the best!!
The teacher is extremely kind/friendly and reassuring during your presentations so you feel much more comfortable. The class is mostly group presentations so make sure to set up a guaranteed weekly meeting time so people don't scramble to meet. The research portion isn't too tough and she grades pretty closely to the provided rubric.
Paige Land was amazing. I had her for C106 and honestly she felt more like a friend than a teacher. She was very clear with what she wanted us to get out of with the class, and helped each of us improve and be our best we can be. I enjoyed going to class every day. If you can take honors do it, there's no difference besides an extra presentation.
I would rate Land higher if she didn't cancel class so often. We missed a lot of impromptu speeches, which made the midterm and final speeches worth more. However, Land did bump my grade to an A due to my peer evaluations. Overall, she is a very nice teacher. She can be a hard grader, but she gives good feedback and extra credit.
She is a very smart teacher. She's great for feedback, and if you want to genuinely become a better speaker, she's a great teacher to help you with that; she's very experienced and honestly gives you great feedback. Just make sure you read the rubric many times over, individual and w/ group. She will round up close grades at the end. Very friendly.
Warm, friendly super approachable lady. Class size of 24 so it's not scary to present. Can grade a bit harshly so put in effort... most of the class makes it out with As so as long as you're working hard it will be fine. Grades very close to rubric. Class is not much work besides the presentations.
She definitely cares a lot about her students but is a tough grader. Make sure you follow the rubric very closely or you will probably receive harsh feedback. In the first few presentations, you are allowed a notecard just in case.
Paige is a fun and enjoyable teacher to be around. I thought she graded very fairly and made sure to help whenever I needed it. Just do the work, prepare for presentations, and show up.
Land is overall NOT a good teacher. She is extremely unfair when grading and is unapproachable when you ask her to talk about the grade you received (gets mad and short). Also thinks discussing a grade on a presentation (not asking for a grade change) is unprofessional. She made me feel more uncomfortable giving a presentation than I felt before.
Paige is actually one of the WORST C106 teachers. DO NOT TAKE HER IF YOU CAN HELP IT. I ended with an A- by less than .1 and she WILL NOT round up. She genuinely does not care about teaching her students how to present well and the class is incredibly hard to improve in. I received the highest grade out of my group and I genuinely hated her.
Do not take this professor's class. Her rate at my professor was so high, so I decided to take her class. However, she turned out to be one of the worst professors I've ever had. We are graded on the most ambiguous aspects of all deliverables, and she gets mad whenever we ask about our grades. Horrible professor and terrible grader.
This professor is utterly incompetent. Her grading is inconsistent and unfair. It's as if she doesn't even bother reading assignments, and takes points off for whatever she feels like without properly telling us the requirements for deliverables. She is not lenient with grading either. Her score on this website is very misleading.
Land is one of my favorite teachers to date. I recommend integrating humor and trying not to be a robot to do well on her assignments. Your grade is heavily dependent on the skill of your group, but Land is a fair grader who will help you succeed if you show effort.
Strongly recommend taking any other honors teacher! Never got above an A- on presentations and she never gave good advice on how to improve. Very inconsistent grading. She took massive points off for very small factors, and was always looking for something to criticize just to take points off. AVOID. TAKE ANY OTHER HONORS TEACHER
She's so nice! I struggled initially with the grades but if you really talk to her and meet during office hours, she'll help you out a lot and it definitely helped me get the grade I did. Also class was very fun I wasn't tempted at all to skip haha
Professor Land is a good teacher and a good person who clearly wants to see everyone improve through the course. She does her best to create a low pressure environment for those who may be nervous about public speaking. Her grading style is sometimes a little nit-picky but her feedback is generally pretty good.
C106 is a required freshman year course and I would recommend taking it with Land. She makes class fun and engaging. There's daily reading but it isn't that much, heavy on presentation and participation. Lots of group work but overall would recommend.
She was a chiller fr
Prof Land is pretty chill overall, sometimes her feedback is a little nitpicky but if you put in genuine effort you'll do well.
Good teacher. Doesn't grade too hard. You will get an A if you do the work. Not much work except for presentations. I recommend.
I do not have enough space to express how much I adored having Professor Land. She is truly a one-of-a-kind teacher who cares for all of her students. Everything is laid out in the syllabus, and if you respect her, she will respect you. You have to put in the effort, but she has helped so many students come out of their shells. She's the best!
I loved Professor Land's class! She is the sweetest lady, and is always open to providing support and advice. As long as you are putting in your full effort, you will do just fine in her class.
Professor Land is an amazing person! She genuinely cares for her students, and it's clear she wants everyone to succeed. Her feedback/grading can be strange, and sometimes it does seem really specific. Overall, it's a laid-back class and chill. Just make sure your team is on the same page for group projects. Definitely recommend this class!
This was my favorite class this semester! Professor Land gives detailed feedback and genuinely wants her students to succeed. As long as you put in the effort she is more than willing to help you and you will do well in the class. Would definitely recommend taking her for C106.
She is super nice and approachable. Is super willing to work with students and gives clear feedback after every presentation so you know what you have to work on. Its not hard to do well in her class as long as you pay attention and practice your presentation. As long as you follow the rubric and practice youre bound to suceed.
