She is an awesome teacher. I enjoy going to her class everyday. She is super helpful. Her classes this semester were doing the best of all the sections of math 124.

Great Teacher. Is willing to go out of her way to help you in, and after class. Test are almost identical to her review problems. Has a good teaching technique that makes you stay interested and pay attention.

A little unorganized but overall a good teacher. Somtimes goes to fast and doesn't explain everything especially on the homework but seems to want to help.

Really easy teacher. Quizzes come from hw and test come from review sheets.

Can't go wrong here.

Paige was very helpful and made it easy to understand and succeed. Excellent instructor overall, especially for being a grad student. Some teachers try their whole lives to be this good, but it must come natural to her or something. She is always well prepared and keeps you awake. Easy grader IF you do the work.

She was great teacher, very fair, and easy.

She curved the 2nd test AND the final, then let us replace our lowest test with the final and handed out extra credit like it was candy, which she also gives out. I wish I could give her a 10 for easiness!

Since 096 is easy in the first place, this class was easy. She showed us how to do things and explained how to do things in a very clear fashion. She likes math and she likes helping her students. Just go to class, keep up with online/textbook homework and ask questions.

Excellent teacher, she is so funny! This class is fun, I wish I would have attended it more often, but it was at 7pm and I often found myself getting exhausted at the end of the day. Definitely recommend her!

By far I feel that she is the best Math 182 teacher. When I took Pfaff's class I didn't do well at all. Hernandez actually goes through everything step by step and she always asks if there are any questions in the beginning of class. The exams are very very fair and alot like the homework!

I took this class during wintermester. It was very fast pace and easy. If you need help, she will gladly help you. She also goes over hw & study guide problems in class. Tests were exactly the same types of problems as in the study guides. All she did was change the numbers but it was all the same concept. I would definitely recommend her!

Math is not my best subject but she made it very easy to understand. I actually enjoy going to math because I understand what's being taught. She's a very good teacher and she teaches in a way in which everybody can understand. I would definitely recommend her to other people.

Prior to this class I have had difficulties with math, I could barely pass a course and it was hell trying to understand the concepts. Now that I am taking her course I am much more confident about math and I actually understand it and I got a B on my first exam!! Thats amazing for me!!! I would HIGHLY recommend her!!!!!!

She is the absolute sweetest lady and one of the best teachers I have ever had. She genuinely cares about her students and she explains things perfectly. She is a great teacher for people who are bad at math because she tries really hard to make sure everyone can succeed.

She explains concepts very from multiple points of view so that you will understand what she is teaching. The only thing I didn't like is that she only teaches in the summer and winter-mesters.

I am not a math person at ALL (took me 3x to pass Math126, so...), but Hernandez made trig easy! Explains everything so clearly, will go over and over and over a concept if you don't get it the first time. Gave a small quiz each class & that was helpful for remembering material. Would take her again for 181 but she's not teaching in fall... :(

She is a great teacher.... but she is a hard ass grader. No love. She will fail you in an instant. And don't miss classes because she will look at it like you don't care about your future and make your grades so low, you fail.

For a calc 2 class this was very enjoyable . While grading was a little rough, it was completely fair and there was no reason why you couldn't do well. She was always willing to help and was very understanding and thought with a lot of energy and passion. Take her if you can.

Best math teacher i've ever had. She is very fun and is crystal clear about the material she is teaching. She does may exampled and explains everything multiple times in different ways. She is very approachable and wanting everyone to succeed in her class. I want to take her for all my math classes. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Mrs. Hernandez was great. She explained the material really well and was able to help me understand the material. I took the course during the wintermester and was terrified. Mrs. H was able to help out and ease my mind. I highly recommend taking her if you are given the opportunity. She is very kind too!

This teacher is awesme. I had her for math 127 and had a lot of fun. I got a C but i didn't ry very hard. Even though she was notmy Calc teacher, she was still willing to help me on her own time. She's the best math teacher at UNR.

I was scared to take my first pre-calc class ever, but she made it the best experience! I thought she made math an easy and fun subject to learn. She prepares you well for the test, and the final. Use her study guide since it's practically her test. And she takes time to answer any hw questions before the quiz. Take her class!

Herandez is a great teacer and has a great method of teaching. She is very helpful and I love how she writes everything and gives enough examples so you undertand.I highly recommend her.

SHE IS AMAZING. I have never had an interest in math, and have always had terrible math grades. This class changed all that for me.

She moves very quickly, and for those poor at math, too quickly. She tries very hard though, and helps you when you need help. However, the quizzes and tests are much more difficult than the homework and reviews, and so you'll want to have the concepts down pat before you take them.

BEST MATH PROFESSER EVER. I was nervous for my first semester of college math, especially since I had to take stretch but she made it so great! Most of my friends with other professors struggled but she makes it so easy to understand. I never dreaded going to her class. As long as you pay attention and study you'll do fine. I got a 98% in her class

Ive never been good with math, but this professor tried as hard as she could to give everyone an opportunity to understand. If you go to class, do the homework, and ask her questions you will succeed.

Honestly, this is the best teacher at this University EVER! I really struggle through math and I must say I actually enjoyed taking Math for the first time. She teaches quickly but is concise, is SUPER helpful, will stay as long as you need her most times, and will help you understand the material. Take this class! Summer class is the way to go!

Mrs. Hernandez is one of few caring Math teachers I have had the privilege to meet. She is so understanding and supportive of her students. I recommend her highly. The only thing was she talked a little fast for me, but if you are ever unclear she spends time to help you get it. Excellent math instructor.

She's the greatest professor I've had so far in my two years of college. She actually cares about her students to the point that our first assignment was to send her an email telling her about ourselves. She teaches extremely well, gives fair tests, grades them fairly, and dropped the three lowest quiz scores as well as the lowest test score.

I never ever understood Math before I took Paige's class. She is concise and knows how to teach a class full of college students a way that is very comprehensive and relatable. Would highly recommend her class because she changed my knowledge on math and I actually enjoy coming to class now. Just don't talk while she's talking!

Professor Hernandez is an excellent math teacher. Her lectures are always very clear and understandable. She teaches in a way that helps the students get a better understanding of the material so that they can come out with a positive outcome from the class. I had a great experience through her class, one of the best math teachers that I have had.

Paige is a great teacher. I am horrible at math and got a B in her class. She is very nice, approachable and will explain how to do a problem until you understand it. She also takes the time to learn her students name. Her study guides are very similar to her test. Overall I wish she is one of the best math teachers I ever had and recommend!

Paige was very nice. The study guides are a lot like the tests and she has review days for tests and weekly home works. Tests are easy if you go to class.

This was the first math class I actually understood. While occasionally unclear, she worked with you until you understood the material. She made the stretch class enjoyable to come to at 7PM every single weekday because she was so helpful and sweet. Mymathlab was a pain in the butt, but the tests are exactly like the study guide.

She is super clear, and a really good teacher overall.

Her lectures were easy to follow and she graded fairly. She was very precise on what will be on the exams, so there weren't any surprises. She doesn't offer curves, extra credit, or calculators on the exams.

Paige is the best teacher I have had at this university. She shows enthusiasm for the subject and is very clear. If you go to class and pay attention you will have no problem with passing. She also offers some extra credit so I ended up with over 100% in the class.

Easily the BEST teacher I've had at UNR. She's extremely well spoken and doesn't try to confuse you with complicated Ph.D level talk in lecture. She's very concise and she will tell you everything that you need to know for the tests. I failed Math 182 the first time I took it with another teacher, and then when i retook it with Paige, I passed EZ.

She is the best math teacher I have ever taken from! She will help you with any problem but makes you work to obtain/understand the knowledge. She is very clear and doesn't over complicate the material. I've never had a better math teacher in life and was not a fan of math until this year. I use to skim but now I know the material.

She's a great teacher. I took her wintermester for 127 and summer session for 181 and both subjects she understands well and has a simple way of explaining it to her students. Quizzes everyday in my classes which helped me know how well I was doing and which subjects I should study more.

Really and excellent teacher. Lectures accompanied by demonstrations, and once an orange. Pay attention, put in just a bit of effort, and you should do fine.

Math is always a struggle but not in this class. The material is broken down to easily understand. She wants you to pass this class and will make it easy for you. There is a quiz every week but all the material builds up to the exams throughout the semester. For anyone who struggles with understanding math this is the class for you.

I would take Mrs. Hernandez again, she makes taking math fun and easy to understand. All you need to know without the headache of learning a bunch of formulas.

This was my second time taking this class and I wish I took it with Paige from the start. She was the most knowledgeable and caring professor I have had in my college career. She only teaches summer calc but I would HIGHLY recommend staying in Reno to take it.

Paige Hernandez was an outstanding professor. She was very understanding and is very lienant when you need something or extra help. She cares about her students success and understanding in Math. Her grading is a bit harder but if all homework is done and study is done for exam's... you are guaranteed to pass and succeed. I 110% reccommend her.

She is one of the best math professors that I have had. She goes easy on grading and will give you points when you get the answer wrong as long as you had the right idea. She also will drop the lowest 3 quiz grades at the end of the term.

If you have difficulty with math like I do, this is the teacher for you. Her notes are very clear and her office hours helped clarify any questions I had. I would go out of my way to get this teacher if u can because it pays off in the end

Easily one of my favorite professors. She's great a math and great at teaching it. He notes are awesome and they are great at giving the methods of how to solve the problems. She has lots of office hours too to help and works super hard to make sure students understand the material. Would highly recommend.

Mrs. Hernandez is such a great teacher. If you like when teachers demonstrates a lot of practice examples, you will like her. She is clear when she teaches - she will always tell you how she wants the problem to be solved or answered for her quizzes/test. Go to class - she's lectures well. Lastly, homework does mater so remember to do it every week

Mrs. Hernandez was great for Calc II. Despite taking it in a winter session, she made the course seem easy. Her teaching style, I think, is what made the course material easy to digest. Her tests and quizzes are very fair, too. I don't think I would have enjoyed Calc II as much as I did if it was not for her.

Very good. You gotta work for it but she teaches like a human being and not like a math professor robot.

I was so scared to take calculus, but she is such an amazing teacher. She really cares about her students and makes math interesting. Calc is now my favorite math class due to her teaching skills. Took her over the summer so it was definitely a lot of work, but I think taking her class over the semester would be an easy A if you put in some effort.

She was quick with grading, feedback, and had memorable lectures. Attendance quizzes, quizzes, and tests. Homework is MyMathLab but It's a normal amount of homework and gives you a heads up on everything. No surprises on the tests. Thumbs up!

Her office hours are open and she's always ready to help you. She encourages everyone to go to class because she explains the topic really well, but attendance isn't mandatory. AMAZING PROFESSOR

homework is due once a week and there can be a lot but as long as you stay up on it you'll be fine. GO TO LECTURES! She gives a lot of hints for tests and finals so its only your benefit. Tests are all things you have seen before and study guides help so much! She is an amazing teacher and I highly recommend to everyone!

Mrs. Hernandez was the second Math 96 teacher I had, and I passed the second time around! Her lectures are easy to follow and she drops the lowest homework and quiz scores at the end of the semester. She's amazing and I totally recommend taking a class with her, especially if math isn't your thing.

I took this course, convinced no one could teach me Calculus and make me like it. I loved it. Mrs. Hernandez takes math and makes it something you can visualize, understand, and recreate. This is huge, because I am definitely a visual learner when it comes to math. She gives TONS of examples, shows pitfalls, and grades work super fast. 10/10

Professor H is hands-down the best math teacher I've ever had! I'm someone who's always really struggled with math/math anxiety, but her lectures are very easy to follow. She's phenomenal at explaining things and stops to ask if anyone has questions before moving on. Even online, the lectures were great! Always willing to help outside of class too.

Ms. Hernandez teaches concisely and in depth. She makes time for her students and explains concepts clearly. One of the best teachers I had this year that adapted well to online learning. She records lectures so if you could not make it to one class you can watch the recording later.

She is so helpful and supportive. I also chose the other class before I swap to her class. She teaches very easy understanding and support students to prepare for the review or exam very closely. The quiz and exams are not too hard if you always attend the class. You should take her class because it is easier than the other professor.

Paige is a great Instructor!! She makes learning stress-free. She is easy to understand, helps out when you need it and provides that extra step to ensure we understand. She loves teaching math and goes beyond in teaching. She does give homework, quizzes and tests. Other than that her class in enjoyable.

Mrs. Paige Hernandez MATH182 was probably the hardest Math Class I have ever taken. It was tough to keep up, even attending her classes everyday! The difference is, I took her over the Winter Semester, *WHICH I DO NOT RECONMEND DOING***

took over wintermester and the class was mon-sat from 9-12:20 however she breaks the class up very well. there was a quiz like everyday that required zoom but was manageable

Paige Hernandez is the only math teacher Ive had that has actually helped me understand math. She gives out a few assignments every week, and has a quiz every week, but drops a bunch of quizzes and homework at the end of the semester. Her lectures are amazing and she has office hours all the time. you wont regret taking her.

No one is more qualified to teach MATH 181 than Ms. Hernandez.

I took the web-based class so I learned the material through the textbook's lecture videos. I came to her during office hours almost every single week and she was always there to help. Exams on MyLab Math look EXACTLY like the study guide, so there are no curveballs if you've studied. Lots of homework, but doable.

She was great at explaining math concepts. Quizzes every Friday and 3 homework assignments every week. She will drop 5 quizzes at the end of the semester. Easy to talk to outside of class. No extra credit so just show up to class and you'll pass. I skipped a few classes here and there, would of gotten a better grade if I went more often.

I just took calculus 2 for 16 days during the winter semester. Absolutely savage course but she made this dummy proof. Best math professor AND instructor UNR has .

If you have the opportunity to take a class with Professor Hernandez, jump on it. I took calculus 2 with professor Hernandez over winter-mester. She made a very difficult class easy to grasp by the way she would engage with students, as well as bring in props to help us understand how specific topics work. She also does not use minus' in her grades

Professor Hernandez was a wonderful math professor. I struggle with math, and she gave good and informative lectures. All that matters to your grade is the tests, so just make sure you prepare for those and you will do well.

Though attendance isn't mandatory; try to make it to class (random attendance quiz). New topics introduced every class, weekly quizzes, and total of 5 test not including the final exam. Don't skip class and complete your work on time. Trust me, you will get an A.

took this class over Wintermester, do not recommend that but definitely recommend Hernandez. Amazing. If you have the opportunity to take class with her do it. Made calc 2 bearable as well as fun honestly. Uses real life examples and engages with the class. No +- on the grading scale 90 is an A 80 is a B, etc. Loved her.

She is a great professor and makes the lectures interesting and inviting. She explains topics very well and is pretty much always available if you need help or need to go to her office hours. She makes math seem like a breeze. I would definitely recommend taking a class with her and I would take one with her again.

Nice and explains content in depth. Office hours are nice and she answers questions to the best of her ability. Great teacher overall. Going to class matters so try not to skip. Does a lot of attendance quizzes (as long as you show up you will pass the attendance quizzes). 10/10

Her teaching is easy to follow along and her grading scale, she gives partial credit. She goes in depth about what to do and what not to do. She goes over homework and study guides before the test and the day of the test so when you take it, you know what to do. I wish I could have her for all my math classes, good teacher.

Professor Hernandez is such a great professor and really goes into depth about everything that we are learning. It is really important to go to every class because what we learn from the class before will be used for the next class for every unit. The test and quizzes are very easy with not that many questions.

This class was pretty difficult but putting in the effort to show up and getting points for attendance quizzes was really good for me. Tests were 50% of your grade so study a lot before! Hernandez was so accessible outside of class you could email about any hw questions and she'd answer in a couple of hours or the next day

I seriously could not do math going into this class. She took things slow, explained topics if we had questions, great feedback on quizzes, she'd even hold reviews before quizzes. I think we had an assignment and a quiz each week. Attendance quizzes at random. So understanding, wouldn't have passed without her, honest.

Normal amount of homework. She has quizzes every week but they are very easy if you go to class. She goes into depth during lectures and makes sure her students are understanding the material. Overall great professor and would highly recommend having her as your professor.

if youre looking for a good math prof, this is your girl! im retaking her class over the summer for a better grade (not anything against her, I just missed a lot of quizzes during her in-person class) and for both in person and online, she is amazing! she explains everything in a great way and makes math more enjoyable to learn (hard to believe)

While the workload is heavy with frequent tests and quizzes, Professor Hernandez is incredibly helpful outside of class. Using Unstuck ai and staying on top of the fast-paced curriculum can really pay off with a solid grade.

Mrs. Hernandez is AMAZING. Her commitment to students and availability outside of class is outstanding, and the only reason I will pass college level math courses. Cannot recommend highly enough.

I was out sick for an entire week (I had this class mon-fri) and she was so accommodating and scanned over some notes so I could catch up. She is the best math professor at UNR and if I had to take more math it would definitely be her class.

Prof Hernandez is exactly what you'd want out of a math teacher. She's firm about attendance and turning homework in on time (which is all on MyMathLab), but she has office hours and is more than willing to go over every question on the homework until you get it. There's only one offer of extra credit so missing one quiz/test will kill your grade.

Prof. Hernandez really cares about her students and you can tell- She always makes sure that everyone is understanding during the lectures, and she grades looking for points, rather than looking for where to take off. Attendance is weird cause she does random attendance quizzes but I don't think they're a huge part of your grade. But she is great!

I took this class online & it was my second time taking math. It's definitely not my thing, but this class was pretty manageable and chill. Plus, Professor Hernandez ended up rounding my grade up at the end of the semester, which I can really appreciate, so that was nice.

She does very well at explaining material. Actually wanted to show up most of the time. Work is easy, quizzes are easy, and so are tests most of the time. Show up! Really makes a difference here.

Very good at what she does, she wants you to understand the material and do well in her class. Tests are majority of your grade, and there will be a lot of homework and quizzes, but nothing too extreme. She's funny and caring as well.
