I am not skilled in math. Haven't taken a math class in 5 years and I aced this class. All I did was fully attend lectures, complete all my homework, take the practice exams multiple times, and attend SI to fully grasp the material. You would have to be utterly lazy and careless to fail this class. It's literally the same math from middle school!
She has to be one of the far best professor at Rcc she's great at explaining and is straight up if you are lazy. She is no joke, so take the class seriously but the reason for that is because she wants you to understand the material. I have been taking her math classes non stop she is THE BEST!!!!!
i took 3 of her classes (math65,52,and 35) and I got 3 As. She is a wonderful professor.
Moves through material ver quickly. Always responds to emailsee or questions quick.
I took her class, she moves through the lecture very quick. On the first day of class she said, "if you do not know how to solve the math problem, you are in the wrong class." she made it sound very harsh and rude. She would speak loudly every time you ask her a question on how to solve a problem. She is not very helpful.
Please students do yourself a favor and avoid this professor at all costs. thank me later
Great teacher, I was able to pass the class with minimal help. Easy to understand the material and she doesn't teach out of the book. She might email you when you haven't completed your homework to keep you on track. Grade is based on homework, quizzes ( that you can take as many times as you want) and four tests plus the final.
she is not hard; she just moves really fast! do not take her in short semesters if you are not going to study and do the work because u will get left behind. i will be taking her all the way until mat35 and she responds to all emails quickly.
She is thorough and shows many different ways to learn the same concept (different methods, etc.).However, she has a tendency to imply that students are stupid or just not trying if they don't immediately understand what she's saying. She seems to think that any student that isn't great at math just doesn't care, and will give up on them quickly.
very nice professor homework and quizzes helped. first time in college after 20 years . I really like her class. she might look like tough but wiil help if you ask and if you go to her office hours, she will try to explain in ways you understand. if you pay attention in class and get tutoring and put the time to study you'll really like her class.
I've taken her for Math 65,52, and will be for 35. I struggle A LOT with math and from the first time I took her I grasped the material so well. She is great at explaining methods even though she does move quick so you have to show up! She seems tough but she cares. Just do your homework, quizzes, and STUDY! If you're lazy then don't take her class
Great professor I took her for all my 3 math classes! Don't miss class! Don't be late she is very fair! I'm sad she doesn't teach stats
Horrible professor do not take her. She is not very good at explaining and she goes too fast. She is also rude when you ask questions or dont understand her teaching methods. Had to retake the class.
If you are a slow learner when it comes to math (like me) I would highly recommend you NOT taking Crampton. She is a very fast pace professor. She does not slow down for anyone! She will blow up your emails, but she will help you if you ask. Unfortunately for me, she did not explain anything clear. Don't do it.
Professor Crampton is the best professor for mathematics. I never took math in high school, so it was basically like learning a new language. Other professors talk down on students, belittle their abilities and lecture. Professor Crampton actually teaches you something and answers questions work hard and youll get an A.
She is a very good professor. You have to really work for your grades, though, so if you're lazy and want an easy pass then I wouldn't reccomend her. She is very helpful and actually shows she cares for her students. She'll usually give extra credit opportunities which is always helpful! Overall I loved taking her and wish she taught higher than 35.
She is the best, bottom line. Approachable, responsive and thorough; something other "professors" at RCC are absent of. Prof crampton supports all of her students and makes sure you work for a good grade. Wish she taught higher than math35, I'de actually learn something from someone who knows what they're doing at RCC lol.
She is really tough! She can be really fast paced and difficult! She is alright
shes amazing. she makes math fun and even exciting. she obviously loves math.
Professor Crampton was by far my favorite math prof that I've ever had! She is so caring and really takes the time to make sure you understand the material if you reach out to her for help. She gives class time to learn the material yourself so you have the opportunity to ask for help. Do the assignments and don't skip class & you'll do just fine.
I like her very much because she is a tough grader. Her class is challenging and interesting. I learned a lot from her.
great teacher, i had her for 4 semesters, she is always available if needed. makes math exciting and fun. if you have issues in math i would totally recommend P. Crampton because she can explain things in so many different ways that anyone can understand.
Do not take this professor!
Not a good teacher!
She goes the extra mile for sure, definitely recommend , she wants you to ask questions until you understand.
I would definitely recommend her. I've had 3 semester's. She gives great feedback and she corrects your work and shows what you did wrong. There is homework almost everyday , it is a math class but she uses mymathlab. Attendance is mandatory.
The worst math professor I have ever taken. I took pre cal my senior year of high school so I signed up for math 11- college algebra. I thought this class was going to be an easy A but it is the hardest class I have taken. I know it is not me because I am not dumb, I have always been great at math. She teaches too fast.. not done yet.. (1/2)
(2/2) I am taking my time to write this review because she is simply the worst. She is so shady and petty. She does not know how to mind her business at all. She will email you some petty things, like sis if you wanna be on everyone's ass then go teach at a high school. homework does not help because PEOPLE LEARN IN DIFFERENT WAYS. I AM GOING BALD
Ik some people on here didnt have a good experience with her and I feel sorry for them, she is an amazing professor. She is very straightforward about the work ethic you show. My personal story with her is this, if you put in the work, she will put in work, if not then she wont. Go to her office hours, ask questions and be engaged.
She is AMAZING. Any math class she teaches, I will gladly take. She explains things in lamens terms and she doesn't believe she is "above it" She genuinely cares about her students and will go out of her way. I am BUMMED she doesn't teach stats but I love her. GREAT MATH INSTRUCTOR
Very rude. She wants to be right in any situation and if you don't understand something, she blames you and acts like it's your fault. I would not take this class. Also gives pop quizes almost everyday and grades them very harshly.
She is the absolute WORST math professor EVER. I took her during the pandemic. She DOESN'T TEACH AT ALL she makes u watch videos from another professor and when u ask questions shes rude and doesnt even know whats on the videos. EVERY first day of the week u will have an exam or quiz. She does not care about people passing AVOID HER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you enjoy having a rude professor, and if you enjoy being taught with online videos featuring an entirely different instructorthen you'll absolutely love this class.
She relies heavily on videos from other professors and those don't even make any sense, they don't even show you how to do the work which makes it pointless to watch. Plus she just posts notes for you to do on your own and those don't make sense either, the equations are shown there are completely different than how she wants it done. Save yourself
This is by far the worst teacher I have had in the math department. There is constant testing, alongside constant homework. She makes you feel dumb for asking questions, and is picky about how your work should look. Do. Not. Take.
Do not take this class. During class sessions she expects student to do homework assignments and listen. She gives too little time for quizzes. I would expect teachers like her to give more time on quizzes and expect students to do homework on their own time. During class session should only be a time where students are free to ask questions.
Worse professor ever. She basically never teaches and heavily relies on videos that were not made by her. So she does not have a clue on what the videos are teaching. Furthermore, she does not let you use a calculator on homework, quizzes or tests. But, clearly the professor in the videos clearly says you should use a calculator.
I should've read the reviews before irresponsibly choosing this math class. The reviews prior to this is extremely accurate. Her homework are lecture videos that she doesn't make while class work is the problems. If you want to pass the class and not major in math, this class is not the class for you.
This is by far, the WORST math professor or teacher that I have EVER taken. Extremely disrespectful and barely teaches. She expects you to watch videos made by some other professor, and expects you to understand it 100%. Told me to my face that I needed Adult School because I didn't understand the problems that she barely covered.. DO NOT TAKE.
I have never dropped a class so quickly. The first zoom meeting let me know what I needed to know about this professor. She is extremely disrespectful when giving feed back or when students are asking for help. I'm glad that I came here to read the reviews, I wasn't even in her class a week and I can see what others were talking about.
She is disrespectful and shows a lack of empathy towards her students. Listen to the other reviews and steer clear if you can.
A class where you take exact word for word notes from 2-3 hour videos from a completely different teacher for HW, only to come in and do a worksheet on your own for the entire duration of class as the teacher berates you for doing a step differently than what she's used to, alongside emails with "helpful" links that also put you down.
As someone who struggles with math, I would not recommend taking this professor. If you have a good track record with math, then do take. However, a lot homework is assigned regularly. First week of class professor was rude and wanted to get things done as soon as possible as the semester went on. My only mistake was not dropping this class sooner.
u teach urself in this class. she relies on outdated videos that are barely helpful. i couldnt focus as much on other classes as i wouldve liked cuz she acts like u have no responsibilities and gives SO MUCH homework. she lacks basic empathy for her students and could care less about helping u achieve ur academic goals. dont get this professor !
From my perspective, she displays no patience, respect, or regard for her students. If you walk in 2 minutes late prepare to be embarrassed in front of the class. Ask an earnest question and suddenly it's a stupid question from some that "clearly didn't do his homework". She has social problems that are clear and evident from the previous answers.
I'm a returning student from a gap year, this is my second class with prof. Crampton, in both classes she's be an amazing professor, always willing to help and work with you beyond her lectures. Utilize all her resources, care, and participation is an amazing tool during her lectures.
Im currently taking this class and so far this is the worst math teacher that I have ever gotten. She has been super disrespectful, she has no patience and just the weirdest teacher I have ever gotten. In the very first week of this semester, I unfortunately got covid and wasn't able to attend the first week. Part 1/2 I need to let people know.
Part 2/2 so she has this rule where if you miss class 5 times then you will be dropped. She also has this other rule if you come in 10 minutes late then it counts as an absence. Since I had covid, she counted it as an absence. And I emailed her saying thats not right, it is out of my control. Okay I got to make a part 3 sorry the limit is short
Part 3 sorry. so she responded to me having covid and this is word for word; "If you are not in class, you are absent. The reason you are not in class does not change the fact that you are absent. I don't distinguish between excused absences and not excused absences." This is insane. There's more but don't take her. Shes terrible and doesn't care.
NEVER in my life have I disliked a teacher this much before. I don't understand how anyone could possibly pass her class. There's a quiz every single class day and you're expected to basically teach yourself through a bunch of YouTube videos she assigns. I learned nothing from her, it was either withdrawing or failing. !!!AVOID THIS PROFESSOR!!!
I was nervous to take her because of the awful reviews but she is far from the opposite. She is blunt, but tells it like it is, she tolerates no laziness. Im not the hardest worker but I was still able to pass her class. If you struggle with math take her, her lectures are super detailed and you get lots of practice.
RUN! Prof. Crampton doesn't show respect or empathy for her students PERIOD. She also drops students who can't pay for their homework how mean is that?! She doesn't excuse absences for ANY reason. She doesn't even teach either. She makes you watch videos and expects you to get the material right away. She's plain MEAN so leave while you can.
do not take this professor. she makes you learn from another professor's video and in lecture she explains it a different way. its confusing and leaves half of the class struggling because she doesn't want to teach it her way and would rather have a video do it for her. steer clear of professor crampton or just drop her class.
Looking for a nice, helpful Math 9 Professor? Well Professor Crampton is NOT the one! Expect pop quizzes EVERY lecture, No retakes, No late work allowed. Also, get ready to pay for online teaching videos that she doesn't even teach. If you're late to the lecture past 10 mins you'll be marked absent, even if it's an emergency. AVOID AT ALL COST!!!
If you already struggle with math this professor is not for you. She expects you to know new material instantly, gives you little time to study for quizzes as there is a quiz mostly every lecture. If you ask for help she'll recommend a tutor almost everytime and not help you. She hates lates students and threatens to drop you if you are ever late.
Just a horrible professor
Really rude overall. Literally talked smack to me in front of many different students. Prepare to get emails from her telling you she's gonna drop you constantly for being few minutes late. Doesn't teach well. First week of school one person told me they took her last year and that she was a horrible teacher should've listened to him and dropped.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFFESSOR DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFFESSOR DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFFESSOR DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFFESSOR DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFFESSOR DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFFESSOR DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFFESSOR DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFFESSOR DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFFESSOR DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFFESSOR DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFFESSOR DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFFESSOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wouldn't recommend this class if you can't learn math on your own. She assigns 2+ math videos a week to take notes on that range from 30 min to 1 hour & 1/2, some videos have more than 1 part too. You're able to retry problems on tests by going to office hours. I wouldn't take her again, a math 36 class shouldn't be this hard and this demanding.
This professor ruined my starting "college" experience. If you're an incoming graduate from high school and are planning to take a math course, please do yourself a favor and avoid this professor and choose another one. Most of these reviews are telling the truth, and I regret not dropping her class sooner before I got a withdraw on my transcript.
This is my first year at Rcc and PAMELA CRAMPTON IS HORRENDOUS SHE HAS NO REMORSE OR SYMPATHY FOR STUDENTS she expects you to KNOW CALCULUS RELIGOUSLY and she threatens to drop you from her class 24/7 FOR THE SMALLEST REASONS even if you have a VALID REASON SUCH AS A FAMILY EMERGENCY SHE WILL DROP YOU NO MATTER WHAT (DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFFESSOR)
(EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PROFFESSOR IS TRUE DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS AT ALL!!!!!!!!!)
Bro the amount of stress and rude behavior she puts on you and students is so draining please read the reviews they are 100% true if your new to math dont even think about taking her class all she does is rush through everything and expect you to know everything and if you dont she will threaten to drop you 24/7 for the smallest reason.
(STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROFFESSER PLEASE)
Professor Crampton is a great professor! She has a great method of teaching and does everything she can to ensure that you understand. The homework accurately reflects the class work and she assigns videos that help you with understanding the material. There are also many tutoring opportunities if you are struggling. I definitely recommend her!
If you don't have some solid math skills down, don't take this class. Professor is blunt, no-nonsense, so if you're the type to get frustrated or easily bothered, move on. Intense class, professor moves very fast. Does allow some redos for exam questions; no quiz retakes. Generally responsive. If anything just have a good understanding of math.
Pam Crampton is the WORST professor I have taken in the last two years of college. If you have some or no math skills, I would suggest you stay FAR away from this professor. These reviews are not kidding. She is very blunt, very rude, and inconsiderate. I have never had a professor speak to me or other students in the way she did! DO NOT TAKE HER!!
She moves very fast during her lectures and expects you to have the same understanding of math as she does. Started with a full class (20+) and only six students remained by the end of the term. Strict deadlines on homework, and homework is due 2-3 times a week ON THE WEEKDAYS.
If you aren't already good at math, don't take this class. She's fast paced, blunt, and shes on top of everything. PopQuiz EVERY class & can't make them up if absent. She can be rude but I also think she does try to help sometimes. I would suggest to go to office hours and tutoring when you can if you want to POSSIBLY pass this class.
She gives you all the tools to succeed, offers retakes, and accepts late work. There is a lot of work like notes and homework due almost every day, but it only helps you understand the material more. I'd take this professor again!
the class says "college algebra" but she says it's actually a precalc class and makes you do everything by hand and wont let you use a calculator. No where does it say in the syllabus that you can't use one and then gives you zero credit bc you typed something but never told you you can't type anything.
Part 1: I took this class in fall of 2023 and dropped it due to her being such a pain in the butt. I should've wrote this review a while back but I forgot to. This professor sucks at teaching and relies HEAVILY on other teachers videos. Within the first week I dropped her class. I took a different professor and got an A in the class.
Part 2: After taking this professor in fall 2023, I dropped within the first week because her attitude and teaching style told me everything I needed to know. To make it short, Crampton is not only a horrible teacher but also a horrible human being. She has no empathy for her students and thinks that students don't have a life outside of school.
She gives you all the tools you need if you do the work. Go to study sessions and office hours and you will know exactly what to expect on tests and quizzes. There are no surprises. She lets you retake test questions for half credit. She also has answer keys available after every quiz for immediate feedback.
Forgot to write a review when I dropped this excuse of a professor from my schedule. She's very rude to her students, she makes fun of students for not understanding things in front of the class, she discourages her students, she never helps you out on problems, but reminds you a thousand times to not be late.
My friend reminded me about this class we took together a couple of years ago. I guess RCC just picks random people off the street to be professor's. How is she not fired yet??? All of these reviews are 100% true btw. Imagine eating spaghetti and biting into something hard, that's what her class feels like.
Horrible teacher and person. Uses video lectures done by other teachers and homework assignments barely have anything from these videos so you basically have to teach yourself everything. She is also incredibly rude to students, honestly seems like she could care less about whether they pass or not. Regret taking her class, do not take it.
The worst teacher I've had so far. She can't teach just reads from the book, so if you have a question good luck and figure it out yourself. She has no compassion for outside lives like when I was in the hospital and sent her proof and she said there was nothing wrong with my hands so I could still work. The website is about $80 for the class.
Be consistent in homework and video notes. It's 10% each but it all adds up. There's atleast 2-3 quizzes a week and prepare for textbook costs. There's a tutor for assistance in class and study groups outside of class plus extra classes to use. Use your resources given to you. My opinion, she's blunt and serious about the course, not really rude.
This professor has got to be one of the rudest professors to have ever taught in college. She always gives out homework that consumes most of your day, leaving very few hours for you to do anything for personal matters. I had way too much stress from her class and wouldn't recommend it, and if you have to, then good luck.
She dropped me on after the first day because she marked me absent
I would not recommend this teacher to anyone, very rude and likes to make sly remarks to students. she is very unwelcoming and she looked unhappy every day which showed in the way she spoke to students. There is so much homework every day regardless if theres class or not and 2 hour video notes she requires. Its sad she teaches. crazy phone policy.
