My favorite prof ever! she's amazing and the class is sooo interesting
Physio Psych is entertaining, fun, and pretty much the easiest class I've taken
No Comments
Great lectures. Fun and interesting class.
she makes the material so understandable that the only time you have to use the book is for practice problems; difficult open book tests; on the whole I reccommend
This is the best course ever.i highly recommend it to anyone who wants to understand how the human brain works. Dr. Hunt is interesting, funny and full of great stories.
Quite possibly the sweetest, nicest teacher ever. Really understands her students and teaches to that angle. Very fair class. Even with painfully boring subject material, she makes classes worthwile.
One of the best prof.s at W&M
i love hunt. this is my only advice... her short answers are hard and very open ended so that you don't know what she wants. on the first test she actually grades them but on the second she didn't, everyone got it right. tests aren't hard though. wants you to call her pam... but... i go for prof hunt
I was dreading this class, but she makes it manageable. She is so nice, and if everyone makes the same mistakes on tests, she won't count that part. She lets us out early a lot too, which is very nice. Overall very sweet, and prob the best you'll get with a stats class.
the easiest class i have ever taken in my life. if you are half way smart, and are used to real bio classes with heideman, saha, or whoever, you will enjoy her exams. honestly, a class of 9th graders wouldnt do any worse than what us college kids would do. i wish she taught 400level classes.
very sprightly lady, which helps make the really dull material bearable. very clear powerpoint lectures. but the material still sucks. 3 multiple choice/short essay answer tests were kinda hard for me -- but, i went to class only 2/3 of the time, never read, and studied minimally for tests. bottom line: hunt makes it as interesting as physio gets.
Really nice lady. Makes a pretty boring subject interesting. Lab is a complete joke. No final just three tests and a lab grade. Tests are a lot more concepts and understanding than actual math and numbers, which can be tricky at times. Overall, great teacher and a great class.
Hunt is fabulous! She made a topic I thought would be boring very interesting. Since she explains things so clearly, if you go to class, and review the textbook you will get an A...not because the class is too easy, but because she is so funny and interesting that you just absorb everything that she says!! LOVED HER!
felt uninvolved in the class from the first day-nice lady and enthusiastic about the material-zipped through slides kinda quickly probably because she's on 10 cups of coffee a day-3 tests were all the same format but inconsistent in my opinion. i studied the same way for all 3 and got C-,A,C+-unclear final and not a good measure of material at all
Hunt is amazing because she loves the material and presents some genuinely cool stuff in class that you won't forget. Also, when students have questions, she goes home and researches until she finds the exact answer, then sends out an extremely detailed email about it to everyone in the class. She's just an extremely cool professor and that's that.
Professor Hunt is great! She is clearly enthusiastic about the subject, but understands that not everyone loves statistics. Her tests are more concept based making them a little tough at times, but mostly they're fine. Lab is ridiculous and you do nothing useful. Three tests of equal weight and a lab grade, so there are no surprises. good class
She was great
One of the most fun profs ever! Class is fairly easy and entertaining
Wonderful professor. By far my favorite at William and Mary. Physiological psych is complicated business, but it is an extremely interesting and engaging class. If you go to class and take notes you can get an A without ever having to use the text.
wonderful human being. So helpful, caring, fair in tests and grading, funny, smart, organized, goes out of her way. ALL professors should learn from her. She helped me a long time ago when I was not doing well in her class because I was going through personal problems. She did not judge, just helped.
Amazing Professor! Very knowledgeable, helpful and approachable. Tests are open book and open notes but focus on concepts and are made to prevent slacking-off. Attendance is not mandatory but definitely recommended in order to do well. Besides, it?s fun sitting in class because she is always so enthusiastic about lessons.
she is a very nice lady who is usually hyped up on 5 cups of coffee and so she is really energetic in early morning lecture. With that being said, I found this class to be challenging and not as easy as everyone says it is. The final exam is worth 50 percent of your grade and was really hard.
Professor Hunt is amazing! She is very helpful and interested in what she is teaching. Coming to class is not mandatory, but helpful because she explains concepts and skips around in the book.
NO PAPERS!!!2 midterms and one final..not cumulative.if you study you can def get and A. nice prof...thought this class would be hard, but i was wrong..def. take...one of my fav. classes at w&m...DONT BUY THE TEXT!!!never used it. come to class.. print off slides before u come and that is it. gives extra credit on tests.
Wonderful professor for Psych Stats!!! Clearly explains concepts and problems. Gives examples and worksheets. Lab is very easy. Exams can be slightly difficult due to the concept portion on it but Prof. Hunt is a VERY fair grader and helps you when you go to her. If you put in the effort and go to class you can get an A!
Prof. Hunt is a gem of the Psych Department. She is the sweetest lady and is SUPER helpful. Powerpoints are great and it's totally worth coming to class just because she's so enthusiastic and makes everything so interesting. The material is tough, but if you're going to take a Neuroscience class, take it with Pam!!!
She is the best professor ever. If you can take any class with her- take it. You don't have to go to class but you should. She'll tell you that you don't have to read the textbooks and exams are straight from lecture. Posted powerpoints online. Tests are straight forward and easy if you studied.
Amazing!!! Despite being a psych major, I had no interest in phsio psychology, and now I think about it all the time! Prof Hunt is INCREDIBLE, funny, and smart. She loves what she is teaching and is willing to help students on whatever they need. Even will move exams for personal issues. Treats students as people and wants to help us succeed.
Prof. Hunt was an absolutely fabulous Psych Stats professor. Her lectures are very easy to understand and she's a very entertaining speaker. Tests were consistently fair and very easy, and she offers many opportunities for extra credit. I highly recommend taking any class with Prof. Hunt, you will definitely enjoy it.
Prof. Hunt is amazing! I had her for phys. psych and psych stats, and she was so good at making two difficult subjects interesting and understandable. Highly recommend her! Go to class - her notes are very helpful (esp. for stats) and she makes class interesting.
Physiopsych....Easiest class I've taken at William and Mary by FAR!!!! And really interesting as well. (Neuroscience major)
This class is harder than it seems. A lot of us ran out of time for finishing some of these exams. Information is easy, the exams are difficult to finish in 50 minutes. However, Pam is as sweet as can be and quite approachable. I'm glad I took the class with her.
Pam is simply a really good professor. She has high energy, is extremely clear when teaching, and always goes at a good pace so that people can keep up with the lectures. If actually give the class a good effort, you can easily receive an A.
Pam is wonderful! She's super sweet and really understanding. She truly cares about her students and wants them to do well. Her lectures can be a little slow, but that's because she's straightforward and clear with everything. I'd definitely recommend her to anyone taking stats, especially those who aren't so math-inclined.
Statistics with Professor Hunt is great. I mean, how can you make a bunch of formulas and data interesting? She does it! Class is super easy and fun. Tests aren't hard if you study. If you're taking Psych Stats, you should take it with Professor Hunt.
Professor Hunt is WONDERFUL! She is sweet and really cares that her students are doing well. I am not a math person at all and she helped me a lot and I did well in the class. TAKE HER CLASS IF YOU NEED TO TAKE PSYCH STATS!!!
Who knew that statistics could actually be fun? Go Pam. Explains all the statistical tests in an understandable and logical way. Weekly minimal homework. Tests aren't too bad. No cumulative final. Take this class.
Awesome teacher. Explains everything very well and prepares you well for her exams. If you need PYSC Stats, take it with Pam. Highly Recommend. Only complaint is that her exams have a lot of multiple choice that can really hurt your grade if you get them wrong
Prof Hunt is the best! She's super nice, helpful and fair
Professor Hunt is the best! I was a bit nervous, since its a 4 credit class, but she was engaging, helpful and always a blast in lecture! I am taking her for physio psych next semester and I cannot wait! I will say though, the exams are very straightforward, but an A is a 94-up so don't slack, an A is extremely obtainable!!
As everyone else says, Professor Hunt acts as a shining star in the Psych department. Always prepared and on top of her lectures, always available and kind when it comes to helping students, always funny and willing to treat students as adults. Love love love her and would recommend to anyone and everyone.
Really enjoyed Physio Psych (especially the last third of the class) even though the harder science side of Psych is not my favorite. Engaging lecturer, presents the material clearly, always available during office hours, super kind and respectful - Professor Hunt has it all. 1010 would recommend for Physio and Stats.
Pam is great! Always very prepared for classes and makes math a lot more interesting than most of the professors I've had before. Tests are not very easy. The definitions might be confusing, but other than that the contents are basically all from in class materials. MAKE SURE TO SHOW UP IN CLASS cuz that's everything you need to do.
Pam Hunt is the best professor I've had at W&M. The way she lectures is so engaging that I'm actually becoming interested in stats despite hating math. She provides a formula sheet for tests and expects minimal memorization or calculations. She is incredibly fair and accessible, and you leave really understanding the concepts. take her class!!
If you have to take psych stats, take it with PAM. As long as you know how to use the formulas you go over in class, you're golden for the tests. I recommend attending every class just for understanding, but other than that, it's an easy A. The lab is a bit of a waste of time though.
I'd taken statistics before this course, but Prof Hunt explained the concepts that I wasn't sure about in a manner that was incredibly easy to understand. She also sets very good exams that really test your understanding of the concepts rather than rote memorisation. Labs are boring, but it's not her TA's fault that learning how to use SPSS is dry.
Really nice teacher overall, but DON'T BELIEVE HER when she says Stats isn't hard if you're not good at math. I literally bombed everything and if it wasn't for the lab I would have failed the class. I think Stats is just a hard class, but she's a great professor to talk to if you need anything and is always willing to help.
UGHHH am sitting in class literally in pain right now. As a senior, this information is so so incredibly basic (i.e. difference b/w hyperpolarization and depolarization). 3 weeks in and have known every single piece of info..... Pam is so sweet and so nice. I just wish BAD that I had taken this as a freshman. Neuro majors!! Take this class early!
Took this class as a junior, and though I don't usually do well in natural psych classes, the content she lectured was easily accessible, she made it fun and interesting, and I've used everything I've learned on multiple other classes!
Her lectures are extremely organized and thought out. Everything you do in class and for homework helps you learn the material. She treats students like adults, but will also do anything she can to help you succeed. I was terrified when I learned that I had to take statistics, but she made it one of my favorite classes somehow. Truly amazing.
I am not terribly good at math and considering my horrible experiences in the past with math teachers I was a little scared for this class. Pam tells you on the first day that she won't do math unless it's absolutely necessary. Great professor, great class. 3 exams, non of them cumulative and neither is the final. Show up and do the homework.
I took Professor Hunt for Elementary Statistics and she is hands down in my top 3 favorite professors at William & Mary. She REALLY cares about the success of her students and is happy to meet with you outside of class to make sure you get a good grade. If you don't get an A, you just didn't even try.
Prof. Hunt is absolutely everything. She's totally caring, makes statistics really accessible, and teaches straightforward classes without much guesswork. If you do what you need to do, you'll do awesome.
Dr. Hunt made our early class easy to attend. She's really funny and accessible. She truly wants her students to succeed. This class is not difficult if you have had stats in the past.
Take a class with Prof. Hunt!! She is very good at keeping class lectures entertaining and she is so nice!! Grade based on 4 multiple choice/essay tests. Tests are very manageable--she posts some guidelines to study on Bb. Easy grade while still learning tons!
Even though I bombed the first exam, she is a very caring person and really cares for her students. During the virus outbreak, she greatly lessen the work load to help with the student's stress. I had already taken a Stats class, so I found the pace slow but if you aren't a math person - this is the class for you.
Pam is a gem! Even though it was online, I really loved stats. Weekly homework and labs, 4 tests and a final, all open notes. It's important to watch the lectures to succeed in the class. She's very accessible and personable, even over Zoom. Highly, highly recommend!
LOVE PROF. HUNT! If you're interested in Psych, take a class with her! She's literally so kind, caring, and receptive to student concerns. 4 exams, open notes, and for completion labs and homework. She's a fair grader, even gives you options for partial credit on exams. Her lectures are easily digestible and she's committed to your success. <3 HER!
She's a real gem. 4 MC/Essay Exams on Blackboard but they're pretty difficult (average on the exams was usually a 82-86) so you gotta take notes and pay attention. Some extra credit is offered and she's willing to meet up with you any time after class
I love pam! Super funny and personable, and the class is really well organized. The content is very boring if you already know statistics but it was required for the psych major so all things considered I'm glad I took it with pam.
I've never really been a math or stats person but Dr. Hunt did a really good job of explaining the concepts. She is super sweet and very accommodating especially during the pandemic. Absolutely recommend taking any class with her!
if you can take a class with professor Pam please do so! Her lectures make learning the information very easy. Her exams are all open book and she gave a large period of time to take it. She really loves getting to know students and is always on your side. She basically told everyone they should end up with an A in the course.
Pam is an absolute gem! PSYC 313 was so interesting and she explains tough concepts really well. 4 exams, and some extra credit options:) She's also incredibly available outside of class. I wish it was in-person so we could've interacted with her more!
Professor Hunt is hands down my favorite professor I've had so far. I've taken two classes with her (Stats and Physiological Psychology), both during COVID semesters, both during my freshman year, and I can't rave about her enough. She was empathetic and really worked with students to make sure they succeeded. Highly recommend
This class is an easy A if you've taken statistics before, and Professor Hunt will do almost anything for her students if they're struggling. I would take another class with her in a heartbeat. I wouldn't recommend skipping this class, though. It's much easier to learn from her than the textbook.
Professor Hunt is the best professor I've had! She is more than accommodating when it came to our current situation with the pandemic. She allowed any and all questions and tried her best to explain the material in ways everyone could understand. She is great!
sweetest kindest ever, great teacher. Took physiological with her and had no complaints. gives extra credit assignments. tests were tricky but open note; this was over the summer tho sand online so idk
One of the best professors I've had at William and Mary. Exams are open-book, however they are question-heavy so start taking them ahead of time. She doesn't believe in stressing the student and wants to provide the opportunity for you to learn. I've encountered graduate students who talk of how kind she is in person. Look into her research lab.
One of the best stats professors I've had. I'm not a math person but she made the content interesting and engaging. There are 4 noncumulative exams each worth 20% of your final grade. Some extra credit. Doesn't curve. Office hours are helpful.
Honestly one of the best professors I have ever had. She really cares about the class and makes sure everyone is doing well. She took basically an entire class period one time to ask how we were doing and let the students rant about the school for the whole 50 minute class. I missed quite a few classes but content and grading is easy enough.
Took this class Fall 2020 and I still think of it as a prime example of having a professor who is rooting for you AND remains a passionate teacher. Pam is funny, understanding, and forgiving. Straightforward work, no tricks, she makes it easy and boosts confidence! I missed a good portion of class and she helped so much without shaming me!
Took in Spring 2021 for a major requirement. Missed a lot of class but Pam still made sure to check on my wellbeing often and never let me fall too far behind. She is cognizant of the students (+their needs) in her class and supports them without judgement. Made the class interesting even though it wasn't an elective. Only 4 grades (exams 25% each)
While statistics can be challenging, Hunt's class makes it much easier to understand. She's incredibly knowledgeable on the subject and is super caring about all her students. She wants to ensure you pass and that your mental well-being is also okay. I would 100% recommend taking a class with her!
Prof. Hunt is just the best. More than any professor I've had, she clearly cares so much about the wellbeing of her students. She's funny, smart, and passionate about her work. Easy to contact outside of class and always understanding of personal circumstances. Feels like a friend by the end of the semester. Please take a class with her if you can!
Hunt is a great professor! Tests for Physiological Psych are tough, she takes from every single thing she gives to students. She's super interesting and willing to adjust to what students need.
Professor Hunt was an amazing lecturer and her energy in the classroom is contagious. I absolutely loved her teaching style and course material. Some MC exam questions felt tricky but she provides many extra credit opportunities for students to improve their grade. She is very accommodating and seriously wants her students to succeed.
Pam is awesome! The first 2 physiological psych tests were closed-book and extremely difficult. She realized this and restructured our last 2 tests to be open note and 3 hours. She also gives extra credit opportunities! It is very science heavy though... so be warned! But I am not a woman in stem and I finished w an A so u can do it too!
Grade is based solely off 4 tests, offered extra credit which was pretty easy and helped my grade. All lecture but she was super sweet and tried to engage the class
I love Prof Hunt. She is a shining light in the psychology department at W&M. She's funny and genuinely wants to connect to her students. She makes learning about physiological psychology fun and interesting because she is obviously so passionate about it. Take a class with her if you can!
I loved Pam's class! She's funny and wants you to succeed so if you need help just ask. The class is tough by nature but she's super nice and makes the lectures interesting. She also creates extra credit opportunities a few times in the semester.
Prof. Hunt was great. She posted all the slides and was happy to give feedback. She had a great attitude and always tried to make every class entertaining. The material was a little heavy, but it was manageable. No textbook needed either. Pretty solid class overall.
She's very kind and her lectures mirror the content on the test. Has the policy of striking questions that a majority of the class gets wrong.
Pam is a good person but very moody so beware. She is willing to help and the class isn't too hard if you put in the effort and study.
Professor Hunt is great, her class is challenging and is in no ways just a free pass, it is entirely about the time you put in. If you study enough you WILL do well. Grades are only exams, professor is very dynamic and engaging during a lecture about something that could otherwise be very boring.
This class low-key ruined my gpa. If you need lots of help on math do not take Hunt, she's a lovely person, and really cares about her students and knows what she's talking about, but if math isn't your thing, it won't make sense, so please take a professor who has take home tests. I was a straight A student until now, so take that as you will.
while attendance isn't mandatory, the class isn't recorded and there are no notes uploaded. grades are based on labs, HW, and exams. As long as you pay attention, go to lab and do the hw, the class is really easy. she's super sweet and very accomodating with everything. my TA was super nice and super helpful.
Professor Hunt is so knowledgeable, kind, and funny! Statistics can be a little difficult, but if you do the readings and homework and pay attention in class, it will all be okay! Professor Hunt is available at office hours and will answer any questions! She is so helpful and clearly cares about her students! She makes the material super engaging!
I really struggle with stats, but Prof. Hunt did a great job explaining the content and accommodating students who fell behind. She understands that it's a required course for Psych majors and tries to make it as manageable as possible for people who don't enjoy math.
Overall, the class is straightforward. Professor Hunt tells you what she wants you to know in lecture, so even though attendance is not mandatory, it definitely helps for exams. Class is graded on 4 exams and lab grade. Final is not cumulative. Office hours were super helpful, and she seems to genuinely care.
