Great class. Very helpful

very knowledgable and makes class interesting with current events
Good teacher, puts out material that you can understand. Do not get behind! Keep up with your homework.
She is a grammer freak
Ms.Kannady is a great teacher!! I enjoyed her Comp 1 class, so I took her Comp 2 class. She is a stickler for grammer, but so are most comp teachers. Do all of the work and pay attention - and you will do fine. I got an A in both of her classes. It's not hard if you try. :) Thanks Ms.Kannady!!
I took Kannady for freshman composition 1 , she is a Great teacher. She is very clear and thorough with what she expects from you...very knowledgeable and approachable. She was always available for help on essays during posted office hrs. Learned a lot in the course.
She was a good teacher but she really expects a lot from you... prepare to work hard.
Pam is a knowledgable teacher that will either make you or break you. She is very fair and expects her students to give their all. I have learned a great deal while in her class. I think she is great and I plan to have her for CompII. And she is pretty easy on the eyes.
Good teacher. Strict, but not too strict. Tells you what she expects upfront. Read the syllabus, keep up with everything, you'll be fine. She doesn't baby. I liked her attitude and teaching style.
Great teacher. Very clear and always available for help. Expect to work for your grade but it is possible to do well. Every detail counts with her. She once counted off a letter grade for everyone who didnt paper clip their paper to their rough draft. (She mentioned it prior to the due date) HA!
Ms Kannady is a wonderful teacher! I worked hard in her class and did what I was told, and she gave me the grade I earned - an A!! :) If you can follow instructions, and if you are willing to learn, you will do very well in her class. Thanks Ms.Kannady. You're the coolest :)
Awesome teacher! By far my favorite! Best teacher at TCC!! She made my first year of college fun..all those years ago!! We love you Miss Kannady!! (No more **** papers k?) ha ha..
Kannady is a great teacher. She makes Comp 2 interesting with great subjects to write about and lots of classroom discussion and debate. She is AWESOME! Do your work and give it a good try and she will grade you fairly!
Very good teacher. She is professional but can still connect on a students level. Really knows the material that she is trying to expel on to her students. I will be hitting Miss K up when it comes time to lay down my Masters thesis for sure.
very nice woman, just a very hard grader and and overall difficult class.
You better be serious and ready to work, because you must learn the material she teaches to be successful in her class. She is very fair and helpful. She grades very hard. But if you show up each class and work hard, she will transform you into a great writer. Thanks Pam
I was a straight "A" student until I had this professor. She makes suggestions and corrections on rough drafts and then actually counts off for them in your final paper!!! This one is bound and determined not to give any A's in her class.
this lady is nuts! She is way too hard, this is acommunity college not Harvard! I would not take her ever again. she can be fairly nice but grades harder than any teacher I've ever had. I worked my butt off and just got a C and I'm a straight A student. NO! unless writing is your life find someone better, like Vivian Hagood at metro
If you are willing to work hard in her class you will be ok. She is a very hard grader but her students know what to expect. I learned a lot and would recommend her it any writing enthusiasts

boooooo PK boooooooooooo
i had her for high school senior english and she helped me out so much. yes she is hard but if i can do good in her class, after being kicked out two days before spring break, anyone can do good.
Ms. Kannady is amazing. She is really nice, and helpful. Comp 1 I received a C in but her Comp 2 i got a B. She does grade hard, but if you ask for help or go to the writing center you will get a better grade on your papers. Regular homework was easy. Gave plenty of time for essays to be written. P.S. just remeber to bring paperclips*
She is very hard! I don't know anyone who made above a C on her essays. The rest of the work isn't too bad, but her essays will kill you! Her grading is very extreme!
Kannady is great as a high school teacher; not so hot as a college professor. Her interest is confined to the Little Brown Book (9th grade basics)and there was little conversation. Maybe I was expecting too much from a Comp 1 teacher.
Wow made my freshman year difficult. This class will more than likely bring down the G.P.A unless you put forth 150% on this class alone. Don't take it if your taking more than three classes.
Who is she mad at? If I ever find the fool I'm going to let them know I blame them for her classroom being so hostile.
Very HARD!! DO NOT TAKE CLASS WITH HER!!! I made a B in comp I then got in her class and had to work my butt off to pull a C!! And I make pretty much all A's in other classes! I really had to work hard in this class. Don't recommend at all!!!!
Tough, but fair. Definitely knows the material and loves what she teaches.
i had some family problems and had to miss some class. miss kannedy worked with me so i could finish the class and not have to drop. she is tough, but always fair. thanks, pk!
Her class isn't to hard, but her lectures are boring. She doesn't complain if you suck up a little to her, and that may help boost your grade. The class is easy but you have to study and spend time on your papers.
Miss Kannady is not the easiest teacher, but is always fair when you have questions or need help. I had to miss some class because of a serious family situation and she worked with me so I wouldn't have to drop the class and lose the credit. She expects a lot, but gives a lot back to her students.
Ms. Kannady is a great teacher! Very fair if you do what she asks! Don't expect to be given the easy way out... you have to work for your grade... I made a B!
Ms. Kannady is an awesome instructor. She has a dry sense of humor, but if you pay attention she really is funny! I took her for Comp I as well and loved her in both classes. Grades very fair, but don't expect an easy A... you have to work hard for your grade!
I just finished summer semester comp 2. Really glad I took Miss Kannady again. She taught me so much in comp 1 and comp 2
Ms. Kannady is an awesome teacher. She is hard, but fair. She expects students to work hard, but she is very helpful. I learned a lot from her class. She actually made Comp class fun and interesting.
I have been succesful in all of my classes except for this course! Even in Composition 2 I received a 99 percent! In this course I received a C. I worked and worked very diligently and even had been tutored by UNIVERSITY PHD PROFESSORS! "And they only received a C." What is she angry at? I don't recommend her at all, you will regret it.
Professor Kannady taught me more about writing than any other teacher. Classroom lectures are very interesting and stimulate conceptual thinking. That being said, it is nearly impossible to get an A. The highest grade in my class around 85. She hits student hard on simple punctuation mistakes that are disheartening for the perserving type.
Very good teacher. I had her for comp 1 and 2. highly recommended. she is funny too, it makes the class better
I worked hard and got the A I earned
I failed this class last semester, because I had some personal stuff going on. PK did all she could to help me pass but I just couldn't do it. I took her again because she cares about her students.
She's tough, but good. Watch your grammar and sentence structure. It REALLY helps if you go to the writing lab before you turn in papers. Don't be late, do your work and you will learn alot.
Ms. Kannady is a great teacher, it is easy to see that she likes what she does. She is very helpful, and I met with her a few times in her office. This class is Challenging, but I think anyone that belongs in college should be able to pass it rather easily.
The class was just as expected and Miss Kannady stuck to the syllabus and everything was clear.
Expect to work yourself to the bone, and mostly like still not get an A. If you are willing to work, you can get a B. Not a horrid teacher just one that grades a little on the obessive side
Tough grader, but I have learned from her
Very enjoyable class! This class isn't an 'easy A' blow off class but you will learn a lot in this class! Ms. Kannady is very educated and her in class discussions were great! I enjoyed attending this class!
summer classes are tough but I liked the class
Professor Kannady is a very good teacher! Although she is a tough grader, she is willing to help you improve in anyway she can. Lectures were interesting, always used real-world examples to help it fit. Not too much busy work, but alot of writing. Recommended for Comp II.
Kannady is a great teacher. She will grade every grammar mistake on essays but it is still not hard to get a good grade on them. Lectures are good and interesting. I highly recommend her
Teacher is a great person but as far as her teaching style it leaves a lot to be desired. Not alot of teaching in the classroom she just hands you the information on your essays and sends you on your way. She is willing to help but when you don't know what area you are needing the help it kinda of doesn't matter.
Ms. Kannady is an AMAZING teacher! Her Comp II class isn't in any way an easy A, but I learned so much from being in her class. 4 essays throughout the year, all of which she explains clearly and grades fairly. She is always willing to help with ANYTHING. It's a great class, she's a GREAT teacher, and a wonderful person. TAKE THIS COURSE!! :)
She is the best teacher I've ever had. She tries to make sure her students are really interested in what she's saying, and totally inspired me to think in ways that I never had before. Teachers like this are very rare.
This teacher tries very hard to make sure that you succeed in her class. She gives you all the things that you may need to do so. Every once in a while she gets impatient with something, and you can tell, but overall, I would take a class with her again.
I'm in her class right now & I'm sick of it already. She doesn't grade very fairly. This is comp II. Not some class for masters. Failing people because of small grammar mistakes in our 1st essay is just mean. Determined to not give anyone an A. Don't recommend her. Oh, and make sure you use a paper clip instead of a staple or she'll wont take it.
Kannady is awesome. Best professor ever. People complain about her being tough on plagiarism..but what do you expect? Need I remind you that it's AGAINST THE LAW? She really is great. She cares about her students and wants you to succeed. I've taken her for Comp II and Intro to Lit and highly recommend all.
Took Intro to Lit and all she taught were American authors. I would've rather had a more overall view of authors from all around the globe. If I wanted American authors, I would've taken American Lit. Very tough grader, show up or you won't know what's going on.
Awful. Another english teacher who thinks we all want English degrees and everybody can write perfectly. Grades terribly. Stay away unless you are a truly gifted writer. If you are concerned about your GPA at all, do not take this class. Terrible teacher with a horrid attitude problem.
She is soooo hard. She grades like a military officer. She's not entirely boring and impossible to pass, she's just ridiculously strict. You have to come to class and you CANNOT be late, or she won't let you in the door...
Is tough, but fair, and always willing to help. One person wrote here that "She is determined not to give an A". That's right! She doesn't GIVE anything, but she encouraged me and I EARNED an A.
She was very nice but she was just impossible to please. You can't miss any days and her grading system is something out this world. Do Not take her if you can help it.
Horrible teacher! unfair grading and can't miss a single class..... don't take this class.
Very tough, but fair, and always willing to help. You get what you EARN in her class. It is very hard to EARN an A. If you do congrads, I got a B as proud to get it. If you put forth an effort, you will LEARN something....after all that is why we are here. DO NOT take her class if YOU are LAZY. If you want to learn, this is the Comp class to take.
Pay attention to details. Do not delay on essays. If you follow directions, you can easily make a "B" and with a bit of work, an "A."
I took her for Comp II. She is a difficult grader, but she will make you a better writer. You can tell she loves teaching and is very intelligent. She thoroughly explains what she wants. You could get away with sharing the books with a partner.
I took her for Intro to Lit and she makes it pretty interesting and easy to learn. She expects you to know grammar, writing, etc. which makes her class slightly difficult but I received an A. Tests are somewhat hard but just study and do all homework. If you are actually interested in majoring in English, take her, if not pick someone else.
If you miss any classes your grade will drop right away. If you aren't one of her favorites then you won't like this class. VERY HARD.
I hated this class I took this class at the same time as comp 2 and the papers were over the same topics in both classes and I got an a in comp 2 and a c in here! It was hard because I wasn't an English major and she seemed to click better with the English major better than the education majors!!!
If you want to learn, and you are willing to work take her class. She will teach you how to write. Show up to class, respect her and she will respect you. Whatever you do don't piss her off; I am speaking from experience.
Had a 4.0 till this class. took online comp 2 over summer. Used to enjoy writing, not in this class.
She was very picky about papers. But she is still a good teacher. Be nice to her and she'll be nice to you.
Extremely picky with papers. Very hard class. I struggled a lot and I am an A and B student. I would not recommend this teacher. Not even to the smartest person I know. On the other hand, she is very nice and has a sense of humor, which is nice.
Ms. Kannady grades papers as if we should already be professional writers, offers no encouragement, and has a grating temperament. I enjoy writing and have been praised by previous instructors on my talent. However, after receiving only As in English class, I discover that I am but an average writer by her standards.
She is a good comp 2 teacher if you did well in comp 1. I would not suggest her if you did not do good in comp 1.
I loved her. I had her for intro to literature and thought she was great. She was very passionate about everything read in class, which as an English major I can appreciate. She's an English professor so of course she grades like one. Just proof read.
Unless you are already a Comp god I would not recommend Mrs. Kannady. She is very picky about her grading. If you take her class pay VERY close attention to ALL directions and SYLLABUS!!! I was prepared for a normal grading by an English major but definitely not like this class.
Professor Kannady is an exceptional teacher! I took her Comp II course (1st 8 weeks of fall 2012) online. She is extremely helpful. She answers questions quickly and completely. I learned a lot in this class!
Took her online summer course. She is very picky and detailed in her grading. Not once did she compliment my writing, always very critical. Easy assignments - I just never got an above average grade on any of them and I took AP Comp. courses in high school.
Professor was TERRIBLE. Dues dates to assignments are randon. Doesn't let you access info before she is ready. If you work don't take class. You only have 4 days to complete an essay. Alot of discussion boards too. Very random in grading.
Took this as an 8 week class. All assignments were posted the week before the class opened. Tough class, but she left thorough feedback on my papers and I improved. Quick response on email questions.
I took her Comp. II class after testing out of Comp. I. She is a tough professor, but very willing to work with students. Gives you plenty of time to work on papers and leaves great notes on your rough drafts so you can improve. Show up to class and follow instructions. And if the right people are in the class, it can also be entertaining!
Professor Kannady's online Composition II class is great. If you do the work and really think about what you're doing, you'll learn alot and get a decent grade. The readings are interesting, too! I highly recommend her, unless your a total slacker.
Definitely recommend! The reading was super interesting and she was really friendly and funny. Simple essays and tests aren't too bad, just have to study. Probably my favorite class. She was super helpful and made you think. Professor Kannady is awesome!
I took this class on line and then transferred to a university. Professor Kannady prepared me, while my other community college professors did not. If you want to be prepared in your other classes, take her. If you don't care about improving your writing, don't take her. But be prepared to make a fool of yourself once your on the job!
I took her online class Comp 2 class and it was not a great class. I usually do extremely well in english and composition classes, but the way that Kannady graded was very spotty and subjective. She provides little to no feedback on assignments, and will take off points very liberally. If you have the ability to get another professor, do it.
I appreciated Ms. Kannady's helpfulness. She is great at pushing you to make a perfect paper. However, her method of teaching leaves something to be desired. Her assignments are loosely written. Expectation and guideline for a good assignment are nonexistent. Grading are completely subjective. In the end, these things hurt your grade a lot. :(
Very great and challenging class to take. You get exactly what you put into it. Ample amount of time to complete essays and essentially helps you improve as a writer.
Kannady is a tough grader, you have to work pretty hard to make a good paper because she looks at EVERYTHING, every detail and grammar mistake
This teacher is incredibly unclear with her writing assignments. If you think you understand, have five other people read the instructions just to be sure. She'll have two pages of directions, but the paper will be focused on one tiny little sentence...I've made the presidents role two semesters in a row, and managed a C in her class. :(
Very tough grader and definitely has favorites. She locks the door after 5 minutes into class so if you're running a little late don't expect to get in. Wouldn't take again.
Expect a lot of writing! But this is Comp 2 after all... The class wasn't too bad and as long as you show up and do the readingsassignments you shouldn't have any problems. Prof. Kannady is awesome and funny, but can be straight laced. She makes herself completely available inside and outside of class for help needed.
She was THE BEST. I am a huge fan of literature (an English major) and it was so great to see her so passionate about the material she teaches. You will write a lot of literary reviews, she will drill the material into your head. She's a pretty easy grader but she knows what she wants in an essay! Would take her again, love her!!
You may think you're a great writer, but she will take you down a notch because she grades hard (with green ink!). Hardest unit was the poetry unit, so be sure to pay it attention and study. She's someone that I highly respect because she forced me to become a better writer. Would recommend to someone who's willing to take on a challenge!
Kannady is an awesome teacher! She makes discussions very interesting and is open to everyone's interpretations and answers! Very fun and doable Literature class!!
She's rude and her grading style is extremely opinionated. Every time I would e-mail her with questions, she would respond with rude responses (as if I was a nuisance.) In every other writing class I have, I do well on my essays. But with her they don't measure up. Every point she takes off is based on her opinion and not the content of the essay.
I took the online comp ll class and will NEVER take anything taught by her again. She gives very little feedback and makes her instructions for each assignment so long that things become unclear and it is extremely easy to misunderstand her true intentions for the assignment. She is rude and her grading is very opinionated. Find a different prof.
Lots of writing assignments. Taking it as a fast track is a bad idea.
Tough grader, but I learned a lot. This was an online class, but she took time to come to campus to meet with me about some questions I had/
I discovered a whole new way of looking at reading. She helped me become a thoughtful reader and consider different point of view.
The worst professor I have ever had. Is not clear with directions. Tiny, unimportant details on assignments are worth big points. Is rude in communication. Is not clear/ helpful with feedback. I have never received any less than an A in any other English or writing course. She does not know what a good writer or good paper looks like. DO NOT TAKE!
Really good teacher. Go to class as often as you can or you might miss an assignment explanation, or you will miss a due date. The class is very lecture heavy, as are most Lit classes. All in all, if I had paid more attention in class I would have enjoyed it more. There are occasionally extra credit opportunities.
Me. Kannady is very passionate about Literature, and if you can just buy into it, you will be, too. VERY tough grader, but fair. When I knew I wasnt prepared for a test, I made a C, and when I thought I had it down, I made an A. Shes accessible by email and will help with any questions. Great professor if youre good at English.
She is a very tough grader, & will take off points for every little thing on essays. After this 8 week class, I wouldn't recommend her to anyone taking Comp 2 online. The homework is not difficult, but I still missed points on every single one. She gives feedback, but it didn't necessarily help. Could be an ok/decent teacher in a classroom though.
She was a pretty awful teacher. Directions weren't clear and assignments were heavily graded. Professor fails to realize it is a community college. I have a 4.0 and this class was almost my breaking point. Do not recommend.
I really enjoyed her class. She helped me to better understand what I was reading and also helped me to dig deeper into what I was reading. She helps you to better analyze what it is you are reading. Before this class I wasn't the biggest fan of literature but now I can look deeper into the text and better understand what it is t he author is sayi
Gives great feedback to correct your papers through the semester. Participate in class discussions and take notes during them fornthe exams,
Professor Kannady is a fantastic professor. If you work hard on your papers and study for tests you will get an A. She doesnt nitpick all of the fine details but she expects hard work like any good professor. A real challenge but not stressful like other pointless classes. TAKE THIS CLASS! Work hard and be rewarded.
Fantastic Professor! She has an obvious passion for what she teaches and treats students like people. She gives great feedback, the class discussions are enjoyable, and gives plenty of time to complete assignments! The readings are well thought out and entertaining. She properly prepares you for tests!
Professor Kannady is a passionate teacher! She really takes time to go over the assigned readings during her class lectures so each student has the opportunity to ask questions and get a better understanding of the material. She is a fair grader and clear about her expectations. Definitely recommend her for any English/Literature class.
I took Professor Kannady's online Comp 2 class and loved it! You definitely have to work to earn your grade. If you're looking for an easy A, this is not the class for you. However, if you are willing to put in the work, you will love it! She is quick to answer questions and offers great feedback. She wants to see her students improve!
answered email lightning fast in a friendly manner even late at night, patient when I had a lot of questions and had a lot of tech problems
Dropped a RIDICULOUS Comp II class. Also reported the professor and expressed how unfairly difficult it was. Got an email from THIS professor saying that I "do not work to high standards" just because I thought a certain Comp II class was garbage. Took a different professor's Comp II and made a 96%. Yeah, I DON'T work to high standards... right? ;)
I've never had a teacher encourage me so much! Our class begged her to teach comp 1 so we could take her class again, but we will have to wait to take her in comp 2. I learned more about writing in this class than all of high school.
The one time that I answered a question that hinted at my political viewpoint she gave me a bad grade. After this assignment, she was super tough at grading and when I would get a good grade she would leave passive-aggressive comments. She was not helpful at all especially with the final project which had no clear instructions.
My final grade was 97%. Professor Kannadys class was organized and easy to follow and she was always available to answer questions.
Pretty east class if you stay on top of things. Friendly professor.
If your taking her College Success class, get ready to read Tulsa 1921(amazing book). Her class is super easy to pass as long as you turn in your work, and stay on top of the reading.
I took her for online College Success and really liked her friendly and helpful attitude, so I took her for online CII. She did not disappoint. I'm now taking her for a third class (Intro to Lit class) and finally a face to face class. She's great!
I've had some online classes where I can never get email answers or help from the professor. Professor K was always available and even set up a couple of Zoom sessions with me later at night because I work all day and needed to work on school work after my kids were in bed. Not many teachers will do that.
I just completed an 8 weeks online course with Professor Kannady and earned an A. I had to earn it, but I feel like I benefited from being in this class. I'm more of a STEM guy, but Professor Kannady helped me understand some smaller issues than really improved my writing. I recommend this class.
Better than most online classes. Everything is spelled out on the Blackboard site.
REally enjoyed the essay topics and Professor Kannady was good about answering about answering questions. Gave me a couple of extra days to finish some work when I got sick.
I took Prof. Kannady's 8 week Comp II class and ended right on the edge of an A and she helped me out. The course has a lot of work but as long as you do it and submit it on time, you should be fine. Answers emails fast and gives good feedback on her grading. I sent her an essay to help me before it was due and she offered great feedback. Recommend
Everything was posted one week before class started so I knew what the expect. Papers had lots of comments. Always answered emails within a matter of a few hours which most teachers dont do.
There is a lot of homework, there is 3 essays and a final exam. she grades you on college level writing not on how hard you try ,she is a tough grader. she gives good feedback and her class instructions and class organization are easy to understand. I would take again.
This professor is one of the worst I have ever had!!!! I took my paper to the writing center and I was told that I needed to make some minor changes but it was overall a well written paper. This professor picked it apart and was incredibly rude about it. 10/10 not recommended
My Comp 1 teacher graded with a rubric so I didn't always understand how to fix my problems. Mrs. Kannady gave so much explanation and feedback on my papers and always answered emails really quickly to explain the feedback even when I had any more questions. I probably bugged her but she was always helpful in her emails. You just have to ask.
8 wk class, I struggled with the political heaviness of this class & I felt like my view affected my grade but when she met with me via zoom it was completely eye-opening. I highly recommend taking her class. 1-2 papers a week that are quite lengthy, but when I sat down & met with her she was amazing. Fair grader, would take her classes again.
Professor Kannady really helped me out when I had a family emergency out of town. She extended some deadlines for me and met with me by Zoom to help me get caught up so I could complete everything on time and pass.
My Comp I professor never really left feedback on my papers. Professor Kannady went to the opposite extreme and left a ton of explanation on every paper of how I could improve. Her blackboard site was organized with a lot of extra stuff that was easy to use.
I took her 8 week Comp II class and boy, it was a struggle. She gives great feedback on your assignments and very generous with the deadline.
My volunteer opportunity for College Success had fallen through just a few days before the deadline, and I needed to write a paper about my volunteering experience. I let her know, and she gave me a few extra days and let me write a modified paper without needing to go volunteer. Incredibly grateful for the flexibility. Highly recommend.
Professor Kannady's College Success class is straightforward if you stay on top of the work. The reading is engaging, and unstuck study was a great tool for prep. Friendly professor, just watch out for any controversial opinions.
The assignments were laid out well and easy to follow. Just pay attention to details. You can revise every assignment from the feedback she gives you.
Very rude responses, Didn't reveal grades until last day of school. When I emailed her if I can do anything make up for my grade when I thought I had an A she didn't reply to 7 of my emails.
