My English 71 teacher sucked (Karn) & I barely got a passing grade, however, Arterburn was great. She likes creative papers, not about specific topics, she lets you choose your own. She's really fun and has entertaining lesson plans. You won't fall asleep

pam is certified, class "A", museum-quality NUTS. this, naturally, makes her fabulous and wonderful. pam breaks stereotypes like sugar glass. she's at once mysterious and totally lucid---the two perhaps not mutually exclusive states of being. pam will blow your mind.

Professor Arterburn does a wonderful job of harvesting the best of our skills from our work, giving us the feedback we need to become better writers. The class is entirely focused on individual writing, rather than superficial assignments, giving students their own stylistic control, making an ideal environment for creativity and learning.

She is the sweetest, coolest, funiest teacher ever. This class was insanely easy, but that was probably cuz we just came to class and talked about our lives. I think my class was super easy cuz she recently lost her husband and ws never prepared, but she seems like she would be easy and fun under any circumstance. TAKE PAM FOR ANY ENGLISH!

LOVE ENGLISH-hate Arterburn; unorganized, unprofessional. Took her for a lit class but if you want a real English professor, try O'Brien-he is great! DONT TAKE HER SHE IS A WASTE OF TIME-you wont learn anything! She is often late to class & wastes class time, pointless to attend class. Never followed the syllabus!

Finally, a professor that makes writing FUN!! I'll be honest, the class wasn't all that challenging, but it was because she let us write with our own styles. Isn't that what writing really is? I think we had 6 papers for the class and one final. Papers aren't very long, usually 2-4 pages except for the research paper, which is 6-10.

Never ever have i met a professor who was so enthusiastic. Attendance was optional, but it was deffinately worth going to. I hate English, but she has a way of making it so fun! I most deffinately recommend in taking her. [:

I took her chybrid class during winter. it was easy schmeezy. we were supposed to meet twice a week, but she decided to meet once a week, and it wasnt even mandatory. she's a fuuny lady too. you can always rewrite your essay, so you always have a chance to get better grrade. final was just a role playing, and evrrybody got an A for finall. too easy

Seemed really easy, chose the class for fall2008 because RMP had good reviews about her. Really easy, ditched class here and there and still passed the class with a high B. Hardly work, more "abstract writings." Her laugh is hilarious :)

She is one loud teacher. she is very hyper i would say but she is the nicest person ever. She is very clear on what she wants down on your papers. she lets you rewrite all papers to improve grade. allows 2 late papers. As long as you do everything she asks which isn't much you should pass easily.

Went on a camping trip for the class which I didn't like and had a class meeting at Denny's... waste of gas! But we had parties! WOOT!

Professor Arterburn is by far one of my favorite professors. She has a passion for teaching and she's very helpful. You write a lot of essays but it's a piece of cake. She lets you revise them for a better grade, and gives you a lot of feedback. The final is a play. We had potlucks, a trip to Denny's, and a camping trip! Great class, great teacher.

This woman is like a mother to me. I love her to death. She's so positive and energetic and her happiness is infectious. The class became like a family, and even the shyest people in our class came out of their shells. She's very comfortable to be around. I seriously recommend her.

I really enjoy being in her winter session class. Writing topics and essays are simplified with a more personal touch of yourself. I changed my writing style for this class because it's different, unique and fun. She has encouraged me to write again, but this time I am really trying. If you do essays the usual/standard way, you need to adjust!

The articles and information gained from 1A really helped me understand from a critical perspective. She breaks down the material for you and helps you shine! I HIGHLY recommend to enroll in her course when you can! Too bad she doesn't teach 67 (for that one, take Tolliver!) both classes are easy that failing shouldn't even be on your mind!

Finished this last semester. You will do analysis, critiques, some level of presentation (in a play) and a project a long with essays/interpretations. Overall, cool professor! Just don't slack or fall behind!! I thought 1A was easier.

As a current student in her class, she has revived my writing and thinking skills. I don't know how I will ever repay for her guidance. A real privilege learning from her!

I would definetly recommend this professor, she is great! She really cares about her students and helping them become the best writers they can be. There was never really homework, but there are a lot of essays. The essays are not difficult. She is motivational and will help students out if they are going trough a difficult time.

I highly recommend Professor Arterburn,after having been a part of her English 68,1A and 1c classes. She explains in full detail on your paper when she hands it back whatit is that you need to improve as well as let you rewrite your paper for a better grade. I took her hybrid class which actually wasn't as bad as i thought! Theres no real homework other then some essays and the online part of the class is where you post rough drafts. No final either really, just a short presentation on "poetic magic." Arterburn is really caring and will do a lot to help you succeed even if english isn't your thing.

Pamela Arterbuen is literally the most amazing professor anyone could ever ask for! She is really caring ; she wants her students to pass with a high grade. Grades are based on 4 essays + final (really easy). If you get a low score on an essay she lets you rewrite it for a batter grade. Online work is really easy and important. Hybrid met 2week.

This is by far the best English teacher I have taken in my whole educational experience. I learned a lot in only 6 weeks. Ever since her class I made a lot of improvement in my writing. She doesn't assign long papers just follow her format and you will be fine. Her feedback is awesome and very helpful. Let's you do rewrites for better grade.

I honestly went in there with minimal capacity of writing a paper but she taught me exactly what I needed to improve. she takes her time to read YOUR ENTIRE paper and comments on every sentence. she cares about her students and she has great humor! I took her English 1A class during the summer and some courses can be overwhelming during the summer but, her's was not. Arterburn works with students and she gives great feed back on papers. If you do the re-writes and take note to her suggestions you will get a higher grade each time. Her lectures are never a bore and I really enjoyed her class.

Well, she is an easy Professor. Don't care if you late or not showing up. And if you missed the mid term or final. She will allow you to make up the test. Her class is easy for passing. Look for a C pass grade, take that class.

Took her for winter session. We had about 4 papers (3 pages), 2 in class essays which was only a page long, the final paper was 7 pages. Don't get me wrong it was essay after essay, but not too bad. I hate english myself but I got an A/B on most of my papers. Lets you rewrite for a better grade. She's AMAZING. Highly recommend.

I took this class as a hybrid class so we only met once a week. In that class we were assigned a new paper every week. If you're not a fan of writing essays, papers, group papers, and projects every week then this class might not be for you. She was very outgoing and funny as well.

She's very lenient on her due date. She'll give you feedback on your original essays and you can rewrite it using her feedback for higher grade. There are A LOT of group work. She's a bit unorganized and random, but once she teaches, it's awesome. She gives you a basic concept on how to write good essays. ENG1C is a different writing concept.

I LOVE HER. My first english teacher was so difficult to understand. Was scared at first, but shes so amazing. The way she grades is very clear and when she gives you your paper back, its so easy to understand what you did wrong and how to correct it. You can do every essay again for a better grade! If you suck at writing essays and hate every aspect about them, then take her. If you ever struggle with choosing a topic, attend the class meetings and she will help you find something. I was iffy about taking her too, but I am so glad I did! Attendance is not mandatory, but highly encouraged. (I took her over the summer.)

Took ENGL1C for the fall 2020 semester. At first I was intimidated to take a essay focused english course but Professor Arterburn makes her class very interesting. Her essay topics were always versatile and she made sure to put an emphasis that she wants to help us improve our writing! With every essay there was room for growth. Would take again.

Very lay back and caring. This is how an English professor should be. Did not try to trap the students in tough assignments, rather wanted the student to succeed.
