Professor Golden is always trying to make 1302 fun which is why the majority of essays are over movies. In addition, she is a tough grader, but she will give you opportunities to revise your essay for a better grade beyond a 70. She is very accessible outside the classroom, will even come to the campus on her days off. TONS of easy extra credit!!

I took Professor Golden's ENGL 1302 during the summer. It was a 5-week class but I learned more than I did in 1301 in 16 weeks. The class was fun, and because she makes students work in groups I got to meet my classmates and I really liked that part which I never have before. I have more confidence than I did when I started. Glad I took her!

Professor Golden definitely knows how to make English class fun. That being said, if you don't take your work seriously, you won't enjoy being her student. In 1301 and 1302, we watched movies and had guest speakers. She cares about her students makes assignments interesting. However, there was often a lack of organization and clear expectations.

Taking the class I have had a positive experience. Do your work, check for homework, and listen to everything she says in class. It is literally impossible to fail unless you skip class, don't do work, and don't listen. The class can be confusing at times, but she always helped if you were willing to put in the work.

Honestly, this class isn't hard. Professor Golden may teach a bit unconventional but you see yourself improving. There is nothing else she could've done to make her class better. Every single assignment was given to us with plenty of time to do and an ample amount of resources.

Professor Goldens class was graded by a few minor papers and one semester project, we had a final as well but it was just like the study guide.

At first Professor Golden seemed very intimidating with her rules and gave me the impression that the class would be hard. Soon after I realized that she wasn't so bad after all. It is very hard to do bad in her class(trust me and I hate and suck at English) if you do all the assignments since she gives many extra-credit opportunities.

I thought I was going to fail this class when I crashed my car and missed important days of instruction and deadlines, however, professor Golden made sure that I did not have any issues. She reached out immediately after I did not attend class to make sure I was okay. Wish I took her for 16 weeks

Get ready for an experience! Classes with professor Golden are very much hands on, in her class we watched some very interesting films we later wrote brief essays on. Pam Golden is a solid teacher. She makes it a mission to get to know each class member. She may get off topic quite a bit, and go on long lectures that don't relate to the subject. Golden understands the lives of students, however, and is fair.

She's a bit strict with attendance and is very much against phone usage during class. So keep your phone on silent and in your pocket, and get to class on time. She provides chances for extra credit, and grades fairly on essays. Get savvy with the programs like Grammerly, and websites like Purdue owl for assistance for essay writing.

If you do the work you're supposed to it is hard not to pass her class. She suggested buying and using the Little Eagle Handbook, and that book saved my life doing papers.
